20 Best Epoxy Resin For Thick Pours (2023 Updated)

The thick set was excellent for the half-inch pours. But it had a horrible response when I tried to do a thin coat over top of my last half inch pour. Although the website and advertisement notes that this material can be used as a thin layer.

, I would highly recommend not using it for this application. In speaking with the technical support team, they confirmed that it may not always have positive results as a thin layer, the recommendation is for the high-performance epoxy in this case.

The thin pour did not cure and I had to chisel it all out after several days at the advice of the technical team (in and around rocks ) over several hours until I got back to the cured half inch pour below.

Subsequently, I applied the high-performance epoxy and there is thankfully no signs of the chiseling marks left behind (note, I did add a pinch of blue coloring just to help cover any white marks that may appear through the epoxy from my chisel).

Bottom line, great product but be sure to stay in it’s lane- thick set pours only 😁👍.

Had a great experience with this product. Our project yellowed a tad bit, but, we started pouring during a heatwave and ambient temps were in the 90’s and possibly 100’s in the shop. We are aware that is not the recommended ambient temp but, we had already started.

We made a 4 1/4″ slab 16 x 26″. Based on the temp we pours either 1/4″ or 1/2″ pours. I think it was 12 pours in total. Pleased with it. Minor air bubbles formed but, we think it was from the bones. We found a mummified cat under my house running power and decided to cast it in epoxy.

I think air escaped from the rib bones as the layers cured over 7 days.

I’m working on a large-scale project that includes making 3,000 gummy bears ina. rainbow of colors that I’m sharing online as I go. I switched to Total Boat after seeing another maker use it. It doesn’t leave bubbles on top of my poured parts.

It dries harder and “crisper” than the resin I used prior. I use the pre-measured pump which makes it so easy to keep making new batches. For this application, I like that it’s a thinner pouring consistency than other resins I’ve used.

I did this project with Fathom. awesome stuff! This vase was made from a coil of rope mounted in clear resin accented with willow wood, turned by hand on the lathe and finished with Teak Oil. The only one that will ever be made.

This stuff is amazing. Has very little odor, cured crystal clear and does a great job of eliminating bubbles. Use of heat gun is still required for the first hour. Very important to keep let it cure at the proper ambient temperature.

This is now my go to epoxy for anything!.

Incredibly long cure time. 72 hours trying to keep the dust off meant the work shop could not be used for anything else. Long cure time also meant that colours merged and cell patterns lost definition.

I like that it is addressing some of the toxic issues and is better for the environment. I will probably use it for single colour work and build somewhere to store the projects in a controlled dust free atmosphere whilst curing.

I am super happy with the service I got! I made a mistake when I ordered, it was after normal business hours but I called the number and left a message. The next morning Madeline called we and was able to correct the problem for me quickly and in a pleasant and professional manner.

Even when the product was delivered, only one box was dropped instead of two, I called again to explain what happened, and Madeline said she would check into it ( in the mean time the driver realized his mistake and dropped the second box).

During the pandemic I couldn’t find a single garbage can at a reasonable price, the only one left was the Simple human can at a hefty price tag of $80ish, I struggled to wrap my brain around spending so much money on as trash can but I did it and so happy ever since.

This can and liners makes trash so simple, clean and stress free. In fact I love it so much I bought one for my nephew as a wedding gift. The liners sure nearly in the can for easy access and take up less space, they are a perfect fit for the can which eliminates the slipping that’s other brands do in your standard cans, the liners are the right thickness eliminates leaking and they seem to actually hold more than national brands.

I order the box of 240 once a year, and never have to worry about running out in the middle of the night or day, while a little pricier than other brands I think overall they actually are less expensive taking into consideration all the beneficial features they provide.

On this most recent order I calculated the per piece price and with the 30% discount that was offered the liners were actually about $. 02 cheaper per liner than national or store brands. Highly recommend Simplehuman trash cans and liners, I actually refer to it as a complete hassle free garbage system for your home.

When I first started with acrylic painting I was doing canvas only painting. Then I added coasters and determined they needed resin. I bought some online only to read that using it required a respirator.

Being claustrophobic that was not an option for me. I found an artist on you tube that recommended Art Resin and I found it online at your website and bought it. After reading the instructions that came with it and using it the first time I am sold on it! It is easy to use, has a much longer working time than other resins and best of all no fumes or harsh chemical smells! I am so happy with how all my coasters have turned out using Art Resin! I highly recommend it now to all my friends and fellow painters! I have also used it on canvas paintings and they have turned out beautifully as well!.

I’ve used Art Resin several times and it has always been an excellent product. 5 stars ! This time though, I did something wrong. I poured it a little thick. 1 gallon for 36″ x 36″. The mixture was filled with extremely tiny bubbles.

I went ahead and poured it. After a few minutes I used a torch and popped some larger bubbles and ,though tiny, I also popped thousands of them I could barely see. I did this repeatedly off and on for about an hour.

The art work was looking great, so I left it to harden 72 hours, I removed the fence and cleaned it up. It wasn’t till I hung the art that I notices still thousands of minuscule bubbles at the bottom of the pour just above the paint.

Still the finished product looks great from just a few inches away. What I noticed though, was that each tiny bubble cast a tiny shadow on the art. Over all, because there were many thousands of bubbles, they do dim the paint a little.

I am sure that I was to blame. This is my first large pour. I mixed the resin in a large stainless bowl using a flexible kitchen spatula. I noticed the mixture was full of tiny tiny bubbles, but I poured it that way.

Room Temperature was 72 F. If you could help with advice about my procedure, I would be grateful. Still the art work looks great when viewed more than 1 foot away. I am very pleased. I consider this a miner problem.

I’ve used this stuff to finish coat my oak gearshift knob for my Jeep, overcoat a plastic finger-ring, and as a build-up over inks and liquid acrylic paints on top of hexagram (two-dimensional rep of icosahedron) magnetically pointed, creating a vortex, think: “Metatron Cube” flattened into a Star of David.

I even made an ocean wave standing upright. This epoxy makes project success a much simpler task. I’ve mixed effectively, as little as 15ml (=7. 5ml + 7. 5ml); many times. The finish is incredibly durable.

Much greater than all the varnishes, polyurethanes & lacquers, I’ve used in the past. I’ve just built the “Art-Deco” door and drawer fronts for my lower base, kitchen cabinets. I’m going to pour a 1/16th inch finish coat over 5/8 inch MDF covered and inlaid with wood veneers, 1/8 inch protruding, polished-aluminum design trims; up to a polished-aluminum edge banding (3/4 inch polished sides that also extend above the veneer by 1/8 inch).

In thirty-plus years as a licensed, upscale/high-end Builder & GC, I’ve never seen a higher-quality product, to protect the intricate details (& weeks of time), than The Epoxy Resin Store’s “Best Clear Epoxy” as the final, protective finish! I’ve tried 3 to 4 different resins to finish my acrylic canvas paintings. Prior to discovering this resin, It was so frustrating to apply coat after coat of other epoxy resins without getting “fish eyes” and other concerning issues that required additional coats.

I was extremely shocked after applying the first coat of your product and finding that no other coats were required. The lower cost of your product and the time saved from not having to apply multiple coats is exactly what should be expected.

The finish is impressive as it does not have the overly shiny glare but a subtle glow. I purchase your 2 gallon containers as I always want it on-hand. I’m cautious about providing such a positive review for fear that there’ll be a price increase or others will figure out what a great product this is and I then find it Out of Stock 😁.

I got this epoxy from my sister. Sure wasn’t using it so I told her to let me but it from her. The fact I was spending so much money 16oz bottles that were costing up to $30+ for that small amount was heartbreaking.

She found out about this company from somebody she worked with. I tried this epoxy and it’s the best I ever used. The small amount of bubbles. The high gloss shine is perfect. The amount of items I can do before I can’t work with it.

The coupons they regularly send. I’m in love with this company and this will be the only epoxy I use from now on. I’m also looking forward to trying the pigment colors and the alcohol ink.

Second project, much larger this time. Mixed easy, application was easy and even less bubbles this time. Unfortunately, I let the project dry outside and the varying amounts of sun/shade affected the results.

Areas hit by direct sunlight didn’t produce the same results as those under shade. Applied a second coat. All good now. Definitely better to allow your project to dry in an open garage with temps between 70-80 degrees.

Thinking of my next use.

When ur selling a gallon kit u should explain that it’s not gallons it’s half gallons per bottle. I know I payred way more money than I should have for these items. I thought they where both one gallon bottles, pretty deceiving these items, not what I expected.

Pay WAY TO MUCH AS WELL.

We use this product all the time for making table tops. It is very easy to use. You just pour the same amounts in a cup or container and stir. Takes about 30 min to start setting so plenty of time to work with it.

We don’t have any problems with it and the cost is cheapest we have found. We will continue to get this product for all our projects.

I am making a resin rose, about 1 and a quarter inches in height. I’ve dabbled in resin artwork but I’ve never been able to banish bubbles from my designs, even with other Alumilite products. Most products can’t even pour that high to begin with, so I decided to go with this Deep Pour stuff.

This stuff is like resin in ultra slow motion. It took over 2 days to get to the tack-free stage despite how thick my pour was. A full 24 hours after pouring and it was still liquid, though much thicker.

I’m not even done yet, I’ve still got 2 days to full cure, and I’m leaving it in the mold just to be sure. The mold is open-topped though, and I can tell you right now there’s not a single bubble anywhere, which has never happened to me before.

I have a sprig of thyme in this rose, which was not dried beforehand, and still not a single bubble. color me surprised. The extremely long cure times does make this a very difficult product to use with 2-part molds; if you have any teeny tiny hole anywhere in the mold, most of the resin will leak out before it is cured.

However if you stick to 1-part molds or you know what you’re doing you can get great results out of this stuff.

APPEARS TO HAVE NO POSSIBLE VALUE FOR ANY PURPOSE! Bought this to make some Christmas gifts and did so on the basis that it shows it as “Turning” epoxy. I’m a turner and these items were to be turned following casting.

Mixed per instructions and embedded objects within. It indicates that it is not fast setting but this is ridiculous. 24 hours later I was able to pour it out of the molds back into the bottle to return it.

The next day (about 40 hours post mixing), when I returned it, I showed the clerk that it was still flowing in the bottle. Had to rebuild my embedments as they were covered in gooey mess. DON’T TOUCH THIS TRASH!!!.

It has particles in it that cause it to fish eyes really bad. It makes it look like there is a ton of dust that had fallen on it. I tried it twice on a tumbler and it looked like snake skin because of the fish eyes! I wiped it off and thought maybe it was the spray paint causing it.

Sealed it then coated again. Nope same problem. You can see the specs in it. It looks like bubbles but they aren’t bubbles. They are tiny specks of something. I ended up wiping off as much as I could do I didn’t have to do so much sanding to fix it.

I guess if you are just going molds then this would work fine but you can’t use it to top coat any of your items and you can’t use this on tumblers. I have wanted more money in my time than I did on the savings cost of this epoxy.

Will not purchase this again. I suggest you not purchase either if you are doing tumblers!.

My grandchildren and I love to do art projects. My granddaughter put together a puzzle and wanted to use it to create a new look to her bedside table. This was our first project with epoxy so we watched a few videos.

We found the GenCrafts epoxy was easy to use and work with. Great for beginners like us. The finished product was beautiful. The colors of the puzzle popped and the epoxy was crystal clear. My baby girl liked working with the epoxy so much she wants to buy more to create other projects she saw while researching.

This is a runny resin so if your looking for something thicker this isn’t for you. I love this. The best so far. I’ve been working with resin for 4 years and have tried ALOT of brands. This one is it.

There is NO odor and NO bubbles. I was iffy on buying it because how cheap I got it for and on sale. Don’t wait just buy it. I am buying another one right now. Wish they had a bigger bottle I would buy for sure.

I have not yet worked with the material. But arrived before the estimated time. I highly recommend this store.

It dries slowly giving you plenty of time to work. It is very low viscosity so it will drip out the bottom if your workpiece is not sealed. It dries clear, shiny and hard. Love it. I will buy more soon.

I used this for a bar top made of 2×6’s and it came out great. The only problem I had was I mixed it to much for the first batch and it started to dry as I was pouring it. The instructions I read was to make sure you thoroughly mix it and the mixing stage was the most important part so I did not think mixing it to long would be a big deal.

I was wrong. Make sure you don’t under mix it also because it will never cure if you don’t mix it thoroughly. I also suggest hand mixing it do not try to mix it with a drill if you have never used this product before.

If you have been mixing this stuff over five minutes and it starts getting warm stop mixing. This stuff got so hot it was steaming when I started pouring it. You should definitely try it on a a test area or scrap piece of wood or whatever you are coating.

I did not and when I over mixed it I had big clumps of this epoxy all over my bar and I had to sand it off with a belt sander which was not a easy task. Do not try to mix to much if this is your first time using this product and it is best to have two people one mixing a batch while the other person is spreading it.

I found that a sponge brush worked best for me. I also did not do a seal coat so some of the cracks and knots in the wood did not fill out properly. Thisstuff works great and looks great just make sure you do not try to cut steps or corners or you will end up with a disaster.

I recently built a desktop out of pine wood. The desk is roughly 9. 5′ x 2. 5′. I searched around everywhere and finally found this product. It was cheaper than any other brand but still had multiple positive reviews.

I made a trip to the hardware store and gathered all my supplies (mixing bucket, stir stick, brush, etc. ). The epoxy is super easy to mix. The only thing I wasn’t aware of, is that one of the jugs is the consistency of honey and the other is a much lighter viscosity.

This made it slightly harder to mix evenly but was still doable. I mixed for about 8-10 minutes as recommended. Then I poured it on the stained desktop and spread it out with a high quality brush. Spreading it all out was slightly difficult due to the consistency.

I spent about an hour from when I poured it out to when I was happy with how it looked. I then took a blow torch to all the bubbles and let it set for two and a half days. The finished product is great! I couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with similar needs. In the future, I will definitely buy more if needed.

My son and I are building lamps of juniper wood and deer antlers and wanted something to give a tough glossy coating to the wood. We researched the products available and found this to be the best deal around.

We purchased the one gallon kit and at present are about a fifth of the way through it. We have several lamps in the works, some waiting on their second coat, some on their third plus several more ready for the first coat.

It looks as though they will take three coats for the finish we want, so the I’m estimating that we will be able to finish around fifteen lamps with the one gallon. The resin covers well and we are satisfied with the quality of the surface obtained.

I recommend this to anyone curious about using epoxy resin, it is a very good product.

Follow their instructions. Caulk ahead of time with silicone caulk! This stuff wants to run like water and takes a long time to firm up, so your tape and caulk has to hold it leak-free for a long time.

If you have open ends that need to be dammed like I did, make sure your tape is tight and still plan for some leakage at the ends. Tricky to completely seal open pours out in free space. I had to go back and goo-off and sand the tape glue after each deep pour hardened, I did about 1″ each pour.

Long process. Final deep pour, I poured my solid colors, then mixed smaller amount of add-in color and used a ketchup bottle to squirt a line into the solid color and strew it around with a toothpick.

You have to wait about 12 hours or so until the solid color is like creamy peanut butter so the add-in color will stay on top. My first epoxy job, it was a challenge but turned out beautiful.

I got interested in trying to use the clear epoxy, so first was a small couch glass holder on a iron stand. Very successful on first try. Then decided to take on a giant project. Our old dining room table had been painted twice over the parque veneer.

So two weeks sanding, then the fun started. trying to do a bar type coat on a 9 ft table. Lots of mistakes because I did not read the instructions carefully. 5 gallons of bar top finish and the table is almost perfect.

My mistakes barely show, but now my wife is crazy because the finish is so perfect that it’s hard to clean. Next projext was with the deep pour resin. I had an antique Chinese tea table w chairs that the kids loved to use.

No longer needed but not willing to junk, I decided to take off the glass top, cut the legs off, and proceed with the deep pour resin. I made one major mistake in not using the sealing tape on the bottom.

Apparently there were leak areas I could not see, so the table drained slowly thru a crack and ended up epoxied to my outdoor glass table. Some careful work and the table became a beautiful wall hanger.

Both of the epoxies worked great and I’m thinking of the next project.

This is my first epoxy project. I jumped in head first and it really turned out great! I used ultra clear epoxy to do collage table. Had approximately 1 1/8” deep pour with 2 bar top flood coats. Just finished my 2nd coat and it’s crystal clear.

No bubbles (I popped them with a heat gun) not tacky or anything! Great product will definitely buy them again! Will also say follow instructions abd you won’t go wrong. I did get some solid advice from their customer service to make sure it was on the right track.

Over the years I’ve used every West System product for many applications. The biggest was repairing thousands of gelcoat bubbles on my 4 year old Yamaha 30 sailboat. (When the boat was commissioned the yard fails to apply epoxy primer before anti-fouling paint.

) The hull was an unbelievable mess. I had another yard sandblast it below the waterline, which removed all the gelcoat, and dug out the thousands of bad spots. I wanted it fixed right, but, couldn’t afford to have the yard do the repairs.

I’d never used West, but the yard owner said that West System was the only way to go! I coated the raw glass with unthickened West System Epoxy Resin. When it cured I sculpted thickened resin to fill all the “cavities”.

Then I sanded it, did a final fairing with thickens West, and sanded it again to a perfectly true racing bottom. I’m happy to report that “Bushido” is still going strong, is residing in Kaneohe Bay, and, after 30 more years in Hawaiian waters has had no problems with the repairs! I actively raced it there, back in the day, (24-27 races a year) with a seasons point record of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd for 8 of the 9 years! Now I’m doing another major repair on flood damage to the hull of my Capri 30.

Again, West System is my only choice! Bob Pearson.

I’ve used the 105 epoxy with the clear 205 hardener on a couple of slab wood projects. Their pump system makes mixing a no brainer. Sets up very well and is easy to finish. I really like the crystal clear appearance.

I used West Systems epoxy with fiberglass mat to lay down a new layer of fiberglass on the plywood platform under the fuel tank on my 1984 Bertram. The original layer was pulled up while removing original fuel tank.

I measured the correct quantities of resin and hardener with the metered pump kit. I highly recommend the pump kit for small repairs. Just as with any 2 part activated product, one must work quickly, efficiently, and especially neatly.

I can’t emphasize enough how well prepared and organized one must be. Time will not be on your side. Mix only enough to use for each small phase of the job. And do not mix and leave in a deep pot. It will get very hot.

So after mixing, transfer to shallow metal pan and get to work. I also used this to attach the new fiberglass fuel tank to the bulkhead. The installation was successful and I was very pleased with the product.

It performed as specified. Since I had it around, I also used it to seal the lead downspout insert in a cedar gutter and seal the end of the gutter from leaking. EVER. It might seem like overkill, but I now think it is the perfect product for this application.

I would give this stuff zero stars if I could. I bought this stuff because of the price. Big mistake. If you are just doing simple projects like surfacing tables, etc. , as well as pneumatically as clear coat, then it’s ok.

But if your ratios are off by even a fraction, or if you add coloring, it comes out like rubber and is impossible to work on the lave. I could show a dozen or so botched projects because of all the air bubbles.

Even when it does dry “clear” there are tons of microscopic bubbles, which do sometimes make for neat effects. However, I have lost more money than I have made. If you are an artist like me and wish to freeze certain things in time, or create awesome works with certain colors, and want people to actually see it, pay the extra few bucks and go with the good stuff that says “Crystal/Krystal Clear”.

The starter kits actually have the best epoxy for casting and spinning.

This product was not what I expected. It seemed really low quality. When mixing, it was really cloudy and had a significant amount of bubbles, more than other brands I’ve tried. When it dried, it is completely tacky.

I left the items for a week and they were still completely tacky. I don’t know if I just got a bad batch but I couldn’t use the rest of it.

I used this product to cover, seal, and protect some acrylic paintings. I first tried it out on some that were pretty when the paint was wet but dulled as it dried. I had heard that when layering epoxy resin over a painting you need to buy expensive artist grade epoxy resin and that it is extremely difficult to get good results.

When I bought this I was prepared for lackluster results and a tedious process to apply it. I got neither. You get 16oz of Resin and 16oz of Hardener. The package did not supply a mixing cup but I have plenty so this was not an issue.

All you have to do is prepare the mixture using one part Resin and one part hardener. Mix for 3-7 minutes continuously. To determine how much resin I’d need I multiplied the length of my canvas by the width and mixed up roughly that amount of resin in milliliters (mL).

My canvases were 8×8, so using a wooden craft stick, I mixed up 60mL of resin and poured it on and spread it out. There was enough to cover the 1-inch sides as well, but not any left in the cup. It was mostly dried after 12 hours and I expect it to be fully dried after 24-36 (it is very humid here).

The results were quite impressive! My paintings now have the “wet look” beauty of fresh paint with a beautiful, thick clear coating that protects the image for many years to come. That adds value to my customers’ purchase.

I will buy this product again! I have some image show but they really don’t capture the depth and shine of this product. You’ll have to try it out on your own project! I think you’ll be pleased! Let me know!.

Probably shouldn’t be writing this review because it’s been my secret for a while but it deserves a review. I am a woodturner and when you are casting voids and cracks in wood then you need a low viscosity resin that gets into and fills all the little cracks and soaks into the wood for a good hold.

This does it better than any other I’ve tried and I have tried a lot. No bubbles, holds exceptionally well, no issues with colors, and turns well but like all resins keep your tools sharp. The only downfall to this resin is its 72 hour set time.

The only other resin that comes close to this is Liquid Diamonds but it’s about double the money. I love the 24 hour set time of Liquid Diamonds but it’s hard to justify the price difference. So if you turn wood then don’t waste your money on pressure pots buy this and you can thank me later.

I was skeptical about purchasing this, mainly because of the limited photos and the ridiculous price—$0. 47 per ounce! (unless you have a coupon; then it’s even cheaper. ) That is practically unheard of for epoxy; the epoxy I normally use is $0.

78 per ounce, which is considered super inexpensive. The highly renowned Art Resin is anywhere from $0. 93 to $2. 25 per ounce! The reason I looked into this epoxy in the first place was that I usually cast larger items, and I like to do that in one layer because there are so many effects that cannot be achieved in layers.

The epoxy I generally used handles well in deep pours. But, it is so thick that eliminated the millions of tiny bubbles is impossible. The other reason I was looking for something different was for making petri, or “petrified rainbow,” dishes.

My normal epoxy is too thick for ink to penetrate—even when it’s heated. This epoxy met and exceeded my expectations. It is AMAZING—the ULTIMATE resin! It is better than Art Resin because this is super clear, has no bloom, has virtually no bubbles (when poured it does get a few, which are easily popped with a needle or by having air blown on them.

), is super low viscosity, AND takes deep pours beautifully! My Petri dishes turned out gorgeous and have no bubbles whatsoever.

This was my first time using epoxy resin and I needed it for a table pour that is about 1” deep (maybe a little more). I purchased last winter and finally just used it now in August. I was worried that it wouldn’t set up because I waited so long to use it, but that was not an issue.

My pigment mixed with ease, I was able to pour the whole thing at once, and even with a room temp of about 60° it still cured in 2 days. my mixing ratio must have been on point! I am so happy with the result and 10/10 will buy again for every epoxy project! Also, they sent me personal emails after purchase to let me know that I had support for issues or questions and that they would love to see the end product.

Honestly, really unmatched customer service! I really appreciated that they took the time out for that.

Bought a used dining table at a yard sale with a worn dark brown stain. I sanded the top down with 220 grit, wiped the dust away with a few microfiber towels, then stained the top with Varathane Quick Dry Ebony Stain.

After it had set into the wood for 8 hours, and wiping excess stain away every couple hours, I gave the tabletop a seal coat. Be wary of the recommended amount, it heavily overestimates the amount needed for a seal coat.

Being generous with a brush, I used a little less than half the amount of epoxy that was recommended for the seal coat, leading to 12 oz of wasted epoxy. After 4 hours had passed I prepared and poured the flood coat.

The 30% estimated loss from pouring over the edge is an exaggeration as well, provided you’re being careful and actually pouring near the edge and not just drowning the center of the surface and waiting for it to flow outwards.

Because of this overestimation, I lost another 32 oz of epoxy. Overall I would highly recommend this epoxy, just be more conservative than the instructions with the amount you mix up for a coating project and keep a small container on hand for a smaller batch if you happen to undershoot the amount.

I spent a lot of time and effort researching different epoxies for my live edge bar top. I had spent so much time and effort on my bar project and my live edge top was the focal point of my bar and I didn’t want to disappoint.

Not only was this the most outstanding product, the customer service they have is by far, untouched!!! This was one of the only places that had a phone number and a person you could talk to, and was very very patient and knowledgeable about the product, and made me feel they wanted to help.

I called numerous times asking questions although if you go through their FAQ section and website you will find the answer to almost anything you need, and if not just call and I guarantee they can help you.

I will say you must go strictly by the instructions, especially the mixing instructions to achieve what you want out of a finished product. My end results were far more than my expectations and I couldn’t ask for anything different as it is exactly what I wanted and much more!!! I assure you if you don’t rush, and go by the procedures you will have the most astonishing finished you have ever seen!!! The depth is amazing, as is the crystal clarity of the finish.

Such an easy process to do, just go by, go by, go by the instructions because they work. Also use the kit they sell because it is everything you need. I see enough negative reviews these days, and I love it when I can post good stuff about something! If you have a project you are working on, trust these people to do you right! I can’t say enough about this product and support!.

I built a 14′ bar outside. I wanted something kind of fun. I had done a bathroom penny floor several years back with this same product and it came out PERFECT! This was a little harder, there were bubbles, and some quite large.

I sanded them out and drilled some of them out and did another pour this morning. It turned out great in my opinion. The top is completely flat. The first pour, it was not sealed enough, and using wood and other items can have air pockets.

But after prepping for several days for the next pour, it was well worth it! I figured, spending money on something that didn’t come out right, needed another go at it, and I’m really glad I did! Total, the first pour was 5 gallons and so was the second, where it filled all the drill holes and the sanding, you can’t even tell.

There were two areas that had very tiny bubbles, but they were way down on the wood, and I decided not to fix those on the second go, they weren’t compromising the flat top and plus, it looked a little like sand (which I filled in the middle anyway).

Love this project. I couldn’t tarp it but stood out there catching falling leaves. All in all, only a few little particles got on there, and they ended up sinking, still keeping a flat top. I love it and would totally recommend this product! Seal coat first though if you are using wood, I wish I did that! All in all, I’m very happy with it! Can’t wait to finish it with old barn tin roof (rusted) around the base and for the roof when I can get that done.

The matchbox car was my sons, his contribution! He had to take off the wheels so it wouldn’t stick out. It’s about 3/4 inch thick total, the lip was 1/4 inch high, and the second flood coat dripped over the sides.

Ugh. this stuff! Walmart was out of Loctite brand, so I got this. It might “set” in 5 min, but its sticky for hours. It also thinkens pretty quickly after you mix it. I’ll find Loctite online and hopefully never need to use this brand again.

For what I use this for, it just doesn’t work well. The Loctite brand doesn’t thicken as quickly so I can typically use the entire amount I mix, it also completely dries much faster.

It did not harden. My application was repairing my glasses frame, metal-on-metal. I mixed the two parts of Gorilla Glue Epoxy thoroughly, used a tiny dab on an applicator, clamped it, and let it set over-night.

Not only did the repair not hold but the spot on my tool bench where I mixed the epoxy was still a sticky. It may work for others, but for me it did not harden.

I have used this product for several years to coat 12×16 photos mounted on painter’s panel. It is easy to prepare and flows evenly over the surface providing uniform thickness. To prepare the mounted photo for coating, I first seal it with a clear glossy coat (mod podge or equivalent).

After applying a propane torch to eliminate the bubbles the piece looks a smoot as glass and no bubbles can be seen upon close examination. At 2 hours a bubble will magically appear and I am usually able to eliminate it with my butane artists torch.

My last piece looked fantastic at the 2 hour mark, not a bubble in sight. At 4 hours, it appeared. These late bloomers happen often hence my 4 stars.

This is my go to Resin for my crafting. I do a ton of Resin work. I love making Ashtrays, jewelry boxes, trays, coasters, Jewelry so I like to get the Gallon size when I can afford it. If not the size is not really the main reason to purchase.

The 1 to 1 ratio of this product makes using it a really easy mix. If you take your time a mix slowly you will get a nice even clear mix every time. The slower you mix the less bubbles. As with any crafting you will have to learn the tricks to get you pieces shiny and bubble free, heating at the end is one way.

But this a review not a tutorial. This is a very sticky product by nature so you need to be sure to clean the cap so that you seal the top and don’t get any issues with your resin drying out. If you purchase the larger size bottles especially.

Once it hardens its hard. This is one of the better resins for arts and crafts as it is non toxic.

I have major issues with this product “Deep Pour” is miss leading as a name. I poured this 1 inch in a project and that was a few weeks ago and it’s still not hard. I think I will go with wooden inlays in new wood.

I don’t believe I will ever use this ever again. The Rockler video on how to use this, was really second rate. MAS should be ashamed of the poor information they put out in that video. I have brought this issue up in my 160+ CNC club to see if any others have had epoxy issues everyone of the club members that have used epoxy have had issues.

I don’t recommend or any epoxy.

The epoxy is fine. The learning curve is why I bought this size kit. Needed to come up to speed in using epoxy for the first time. Learned some lessons the hard way even after watching videos. Each project has its own issues.

Will kept at it as the epoxy can enhance certain projects. Most of mine will be small for the time being. Would have liked to have had a kit even smaller to start. I recommend for small pours using a scale which I used for an accurate mix.

This is some pretty decent epoxy, but I am not sure why it is so much more expensive than comparable brands that can be poured even deeper. One benefit of the shallow pour is that the epoxy tends to set up quite a bit faster than the other deep pours I have used making it great for filling voids, touch up work, or even sealing live edges without having to wait much more than 24 hours before sanding.

Surprisingly, it still has great bubble release properties despite the faster cure time. I have used a few other deep pour epoxies and this has the strongest chemical smell of the bunch, which I am not a huge fan of.

Overall, it’s decent stuff and I plan to keep it around for smaller pours, filling cracks and voids, etc. but for a true deep pour epoxy for using on river tables and other larger pours, I would probably go with something else (I’ve personally have had great luck with liquid glass – wish Rockler would pick them up as well).
