Note, this rating is for the product, not for the service from Ingram’s. Their service was 5 star. I might a be a bit harsh on the 3 star but here it goes. – I couldn’t find anywhere that showed the line set was 25ft.

In the manual itself it does not specify, all it says was 16ft condensate drain/tube. So there was an assumption on my end that the line set was 16ft. – The 25ft line set was entirely too long for my application, and I suspect for most.

I was going to have so much extra line it was going to look bad. So I ordered the 16ft +$250 – Since the 25ft line set had no use we tried to practice some bends, since I was using the Mr. Cool line set cover and it had a tight 90 Deg bend in it.

The tubing at the ends has design features that make it a bit more flexible without kinking (as does the line coming out of the indoor unit). But if you need to bend it where the copper is solid its very difficult to bend without kinking it.

We were successful with the 16ft line because we used the natural curve of the coil it was shipped in and bent it just a bit more. – The Mr. Cool line set covers are $150+ but are only 12ft. The DIY kit comes with a 25ft line set.

So you may need/want to spend $300+ on line set covers. – The system is a little glitchy between all the control devices (Remote, wireless T-stat, wifi). If I adjust the temperature with the remote, it doesn’t register or update on the t-stat or the wifi display/phone.

Same thing adjusting the temp with the other methods. The LED on the indoor unit is always accurate, but the other 3 methods don’t communicate with each other. Its a bit annoying. Other than that the system seems to be working great and is a game changer in my shop.

The mini-split condenser is about 60 ft from our bedroom window and I was worried about noise it might make but its very very quiet. Can barely hear it 10ft away.

This unit is great. Got it installed in my garage just in time for nearly 100-degree heat and humidity to hit us here in Indiana. My garage is 22×30 *(660 sq ft) with vaulted ceilings. The entire thing is spray-foam insulated.

I have yet to turn the temp on my MRCOOL below 75-degrees and even then, at some points throughout the day, it’s cold in here. I will say, as many do with these DIY units, that I installed everything myself (and it was all pretty easy to do) except the electrical.

I’m not great with electrical, so I had pro install my breaker, run my wire, install a dedicated on-off panel outside my garage, etc.

I don’t typically do reviews but I felt like my experience with this product is one worth sharing. Anyone looking for an inexpensive way to condition a garage, workshop, sunroom or any space that needs a little help should consider a Mrcool DYI mini split.

I installed this in my wood shop manly to help control humidity and cool the space during the summer. The instructions are easy to follow and the system is easy to install if you have any mechanical aptitude.

The 12k system is light enough for one person to handle and it took me a full day to complete the install which included adding the line set cover kit. So far the system is working great. Both the interior air handler and the exterior compressor are very quiet.

I intended to purchase this unit trough Amazon but noticed it shipped from Ingrams Water and Air so I reached out to them via their website to get a quote and was able to save some money. The order process was easy and they got it shipped out within a few days.

The unit arrived via UPS in two boxes that are well packed. After I ordered the mini split I decided to order the line set covers and again I found that ordering directly from Ingrams not only saved me a few dollars but was very easy.

Installation from start to finish is simple and straight forward. My hardest part was determining exactly where I wanted to install the unit. I opted to use the full 25 feet of line set as to not have it bundled which is ok to do but I’m a stickler for a smooth finish look.

I would also suggest making a punch list before you begin. I choose to pour a slab for the outside unit instead of the bracket mount or other options for my install. It truly is DIY if you have knowledge doing any electrical safely and by code.

My installation took a little longer than Mr Cool’s video (recommend) did but only because I ran in to a triple wall stud drilling my through wall hole for the line set. Again, it’s straight forward and the end results were a room staying at very cold temperature with little to almost no noise.

My ceilings fans have a higher hum than this unit. The outside is just as quiet, you have to see the fan turning to know it’s running. It’s only been running for a month but I feel confident it’ll last.

Also made a couple calls to them for clarification and they picked up the phone immediately and answered my question.

This unit is perfect for my upstairs air bnb!! Quiet, soft air flow-with no unpleasant A/C scent, even cooling, and easy to work. I love that I can control it anywhere I have wifi. I replaced 3 wall heaters that ate up way to much electricity and a noisy swamp cooler, and will never look back!! My guests were very pleased, and said they only used one cassette that kept all 3 rooms comfortable.

I live near Death Valley, so temps can get over 100 degrees, but my place is delightfully cool now. Only challenge was when my partner didn’t read the instructions and it wouldn’t cool when we turned it on.

When I convinced him to read the instructions and he made a simple adjustment, it fired right up! We did have a challenge installing the cassettes on interior walls due to drainage, but came up with a good solution by putting the flexible hose inside conduit in the attic to keep it from drooping in between rafters (the kitchen had a higher ceiling than the bedrooms).

This system was delivered very well packaged, no damage, not even a scratch. Installation was fairly straight forward. Came with a template to layout the holes for the interior part. Be sure and use a level when laying this out.

I purchased the 25 foot copper tubing kit, ended up needing 17 feet. Tubing was cut and flared for the correct length. I also purchased the outdoor mounting brackets, but there was not a easy way to used them and make for a neat installation.

Nothing wrong with the brackets, just didn’t fit my application. Built a treated lumber stand for the outdoor unit and anchored to concert. Due to horizonal run of tubing, purchased locally a cover to dress up the horizonal run.

Don’t make the mistake a lot of folks have, be sure and hook a vacuum pump to the system before releasing the Freon. We connected nitrogen and charged the copper line and evaporator and checked for leaks.

The vacuum for about 2 hours. then released the Freon. With a desk top computer running in my 16X30 foot shop, I can’t hear the indoor fan running, the fan in the computer is louder. The shop has insulated walls and overhead, but the 8X10 rollup door is not, when the sun is hitting it, you can feel the heat radiating on the inside.

This 12000 BTU system has no problem keep the interior 75 degrees while it is 100 F outside.

I ordered it Thursday night and it got delivered Tuesday morning. I bought it to replace a broken 10 year old Daikin mini split. I did not want to spend $3500-$4000 for a other Daikin or Fujitsu so I decided to try a Senville and I am not sorry I did.

I got it installed by a hvac guy, he pressure tested it and vacuumed the lines. It was -19c when we started it for the first time. Me and the hvac guy couldn’t believe how quiet it was. It gave great heat even at -19c It is 3 times quieter as the daikin it replaced and twice as quiet as the fujitsu I have at my shop.

I am very satisfied. It works great and at 1 third of the price of a fujitsu or daikin its a great deal. It also has all the features that the more expensive brands have. I just ordered a other one it should be here in a few days.

Update A few days after I ordered the second unit it arrived. I just got the second one installed on the kitchen side of the house. yesterday it was -18c with a wind chill of -25c and both units were not even working hard and had no problems heating the house.

As I type this it is -23c with a wind chill of -31 and there working the same as last night having no problem heating the house at all. 2 of these are heating this old 2 story house is pretty impressive.

There is no other source of heat used since the second unit was installed. The upstairs could need a bit more heat in more extreme cold so to keep the wife happy I might put one upstairs. It will help as heat rises but not cold so in the summer the ac will help cool the upstairs, cheaper then a air conditioner and wont be as noisy.

When I decide to put in a other one upstairs it will be a other senville 1200 sena. 3 senville mini split for the price of 1 fujitsu, Daikin or a Mitsubishi mini split a no brainer.

Replaced my old split system with an Senville 9000 Aura. After confirming it can keep up heating my single floor detached house when outside is down to -20C decided to invest and for another Senville 12000 Aura to heat the basement.

The best investment in my life. Both units perform quietly and very efficiently. Using them mostly for heating and only few week in an year for cooling. -20C outside to +21 inside is the biggest difference that the units can keep up to.

Below -20C feels already to much, but I never hoped for it. Great units, working second winter without problems. Highly recommended. Below is my energy consumption with one unit Jan-Feb last year and two units this winter.

So far, not so good. I installed a large Pioneer 220v mini split unit in the bedroom, hoping it would be sufficient to completely heat and cool an 800sf new-construction, well-insulated barndominium.

I’ve been here two years now, and I’ve had to use supplemental portable AC and heating units through the worst of our summers and winters. I installed this second Pioneer 115v unit in the living/kitchen area in early February, thinking it would be enough to keep my little place comfy without having to rely on the additional portable units.

No such luck. During our (granted, record-breaking) cold snap of 2/21 this 115v unit didn’t do it’s job, and I had to use the space heater again. A lot. The 220v unit in the bedroom had a hard time keeping up, but at least kept the room at 64.

I’m really hoping this new unit does a much better job of cooling than it does heating. We’ll see soon enough.

Poor – I really thought this was a great deal initially but I guess I should have checked into the warranty a little better. My unit checked out fine at installation (no refrigerant leaks) but within a year it began throwing out a low refrigerant code so I call a Heating and air guy and he checked it out and confirmed it was low on refrigerant and added some.

Worked fine for a few months and the the same issue came up. Since they only cover parts in the warranty I now have to get a heating and air guy back out and I’ll be out the labor again. Customer service did not seem to even care.

Last online purchase of a mini split for me!.

Purchased the 12000 BTU 115V 17 SEER model, Pioneer Air Conditioner WYS012AMFI17RL Ductless Inverter+ Mini-Split Heat Pump Complete System for a small rental property I am working on refurbishing and thus far I am fairly impressed with the unit.

The install was far easier than I thought it was going to be. To start with I spent quite a bit of time researching code issues and general install considerations for this type of unit as this is my first time attempting an install of a mini-split.

Armed with this I set out to do the majority of the install myself to include making a custom stand from 3/16″ x 1. 5″ aluminum angle. The only really hard part was running the electrical line and while not complicated took a little time to route properly and get all the connections right.

Not overly complicated thought. I installed the main line, 12/2 UF cable, (14/2 would have worked too for those who will bring the wire size up), running it to a junction box just outside the house where I further branched to an A/C disconnect box and then on to the outside unit itself.

All outside lines were ran inside of 1/2″ watertight conduit with the appropriate fittings. Again, nothing really complex just a little time consuming and really hot working in the attic of the rental.

Next came mounting the bracket to the wall for the inside unit and drilling the 2. 5″ hole through the wall for the line set to exit the house. I was careful to locate the studs in the wall and made sure not to drill into them with the hole saw.

Once the hole was drilled I then set out to connect the control cable to the inside unit so it could be ran outside the house with the refrigerant line set. This step was the cause of a little confusion at the beginning.

First off, the color codes on the control wire and the diagrams on both the inside unit and outside unit were all completely different! For a few long minutes it was a head scratcher and then it dawned on me that the terminals on both the inside and outside unit had stickers on the wire terminal blocks, with the inside unit having the numbers 1-3 and the symbol for ground and the outside unit with numbers 1-3, L and N for Line and Neutral.

Ground was quite evident. Anyway, despite the mixed up color codes and trying to make sense of them, simply make sure that the control wire colors correspond to the same numbers inside and out. In my case the control wire was black, red, white and green.

So I arbitrarily assigned Black=1, Red =2, White=3 and of course Green to ground. The next problem I had was the control wire had pre-crimped connectors on both ends that would not fit the terminal block on the inside unit so I had to cut the connectors off in order to attach them to the terminal block on the inside unit.

Not a big deal, simply another minor inconvenience with the install process. The factory connectors fit just fine on the outside unit. Now moving back to the outside unit. I custom built a stand out of aluminum angle that put the bottom of the unit about 22 inches above ground level.

The stand was a simple matter of fitting together the aluminum angle and bolting it together then setting the legs in concrete. 1 and 1/4 bags of Quickcrete did the job just fine for setting the legs in 8″ inches in a hole dug with a set of standard post hole diggers.

If you go this route be sure to level the unit front to back and side to side. All total the cost of the stand was about $65. 00 including the metal, nuts and bolts and concrete. After that, most of the “grunt” work was done and I had a friend who is a recently retired HVAC guy help with the rest of the install which included leak checking and pulling a vacuum on the line set prior to release of the refrigerant.

Laying out the line set was easy and did not require a pipe bender. The few bends that were put in were done gently by hand. As for the connections the factory flares were great and instead of re-flaring the lines we opted to c.

Prepare for a positive, thorough review. I ordered this system 7 days ago, it arrived in 5 days, well packaged, on a wrapped pallet, and I installed it yesterday. I spent about 30 minutes on a Friday evening unpacking and 2 air handlers and compressor, and staging them in the install locations.

(Very robust packing materials, kids-11 and 13-spent the rest of the evening playing with/in them. ). 7 hours on Saturday to complete the full install by myself, with cold air blowing quietly from both inside units.

Easily half of this time was spent running the dedicated electrical circuit, cutting into walls, pulling wire through a crawl space, and wiring up the cut-off next to the compressor. Straight forward instructions, well thought out process and connectors for the pre-charged line-set.

Zero leaks, I was impressed throughout. Having three copies of the manual was very helpful, I kept one at each unit and referred to them often. I have had 14 mini-splits installed in various rental properties, mitsubishi and carrier brand, and they have worked well.

This is the first one I have installed myself, (and the first multi-zone,) at a significant (significant!) savings. With an extra set of hands, and an easier to reach electrical panel to pull from, any competent lay person could complete this install in half the time it took me.

Fingers crossed that the next 7 years of operation with be as positive as the first 7 days.

I live in a 1920’s brick and slate bungalow. I got tired of installing and removing a 10K window unit weighing 80lbs. But I didn’t have the money for central air ductwork and I did not have extra capacity on my electric panel to add a 60 amp 220v breaker.

The Mr Cool DIY wall mounted units made the most sense. I did need to hire a handyman to use a hammer-drill to get through the brick. But everything else, I did myself. After installation, at first I thought it wasn’t working because it’s so quiet.

For reference, my table top fan is louder than this system, that is how quiet it really is. I got a chance to really test things out yesterday as the outdoor temperature soared to 91 degrees. I wasn’t expecting weather like this so soon but I am glad to report that the Mr.

Cool mini-split ran like a champ. In fact, it didn’t seem stressed at all. I warned my neighbor that the outdoor unit might disturb her but when I went outside to listen, it was hardly louder than the indoor unit! I haven’t installed the smart phone app yet so I can’t report on that.

So everything is expensive here. Apparently a burned down house sold for $1M, go figure. This means that getting ANYTHING installed in your home is equally expensive. The local HVAC company wanted $26K to install a 4-zone mini split system.

I spent LESS than $6K all in and did it myself. The system blows ice cold, and it is the quietest system I’ve ever heard. My air purifier is louder than the inside unit. The condenser unit, which I’ve wall-mounted just outside the living room is completely inaudible from the inside.

All you hear is the gentle woosh of cold air blowing from the air handler. The condenser unit at full load is still much quieter than many window unit A/C’s and central air A/C’s. Another plus is that the air handlers display the temperature on the outside.

This is not a universal thing, and I love this feature. I also love being able to control all four units independently from my phone. I can even check on temperatures and activate/deactivate units when I’m away.

I did interact with MRCOOL support via the phone. They didn’t sound super enthusiastic to help me, but they did answer my questions promptly and sufficiently. Sufficiently enough that I didn’t screw up my install! They probably get a lot of the same question from everyone who buys these kits.

Anyways, these guys have the best prices for these very high-quality units. I just hope they stand the test of time. So far I’ve been very happy.

The unit is supposed to provide great cooling. I wouldn’t know, because the junk adapter provided by Pioneer LEAKS LIKE A SIEVE and all my R-410 leaked out. The issue: the 1/2” tubing that comes with the line set is too small to connect to the compressor without an adapter.

The adapter provided does not tighten on the valve. I spoke with Pioneer customer support and even emailed photos and NEVER HEARD BACK. A system is worthless unless you can get it connected correctly.

So I have $2500 worth of JUNK scattered around my house and I have no idea what it will cost to get this mess squared away.

I purchased the 3 zone multi split, YN030GMF122M3D with an 18, 9 and 9K indoor wall mount units. This website is well setup to order units customized for your home such as selecting the combination of indoor units as well as the various line lengths for each zone and mounting options for the outdoor unit.

The set showed up well packaged on a shrink wrapped pallet, no problems with shipping. Installation was straight forward and the unit is running well. No more noisy window air conditioners! Both the indoor and outdoor units are amazingly quiet.

Our first heat wave came this week and this unit kept the house temperature constant all day.

So after reading all the reviews on amazon I decided to purchase this system from PARKER DAVIS – I wanted to pick the unit combinations I needed for my application and related accessories. I went with the 3 circuit unit and installed a 9,000 BTU wall unit (60 ft.

run) and a 12,000 BTU wall unit (10 ft. run). Installed everything according to instructions. Used NYLOG sealer on all flare fittings, evacuated both units to 30 inches of vacuum, pressurized both units & checked for leaks all good.

What impressed me the most was how quiet both inside and outside units are. Let me say I never do reviews but I really feel that this was a nice purchase, delivered fast and in perfect condition, So for anyone shopping for a split system I highly recommend both the pioneer system and PARKER DAVIS.

Took quite a while to arrive at the store after ordering, but I expected that so no problem. There was two boxes, the outside unit and the indoor unit. Well packed, nothing was damaged even though the box looked like it gad been through a lot.

Instructions were good and I followed as close as possible. Biggest challenge is cutting the hole for the lines. Indoor unit was a bit heavy to set into place but managed to get it done. Some might have trouble with this part so good to have a buddy help out.

I cheated with the outdoor unit, I had a forklift available to set up a large paver for the unit to sit on, and also used it to place the unit on the paver. Refrigerant lines were easy to hook up and was careful to minimize bending as per instructions.

Only issue I had was I wanted to order the conduit kit for the installation, but they were not available through Home Depot Canada. I ended up ordering the kit through another supplier. (reason for a 4/5 star rating) The system took most of a day to install but I had a few interruptions during the day, so continuously working may take half a day, but I wasn’t in a hurry either.

System works great, it was set up to cool only one part of the house, but it’s actually cooling the whole house with the help of a fan strategically placed in a hallway. Set the temp at 22C and it hasn’t really been touched since (two months?).

Now we don’t want to go outside on hot days! Power consumption is less than the portable A/C unit we were using previously, and works so much better without all the noise. Haven’t used the wifi dongle/connection thing, don’t really have a need for it so far.

Normal weekend here, checked LP gas level, called to get it refilled on Monday and leave a check under the cover. My guy said just make it for $1200. Thus, I let it run out and called Ingrams Water and Air.

I’ve seen their ads about mini split systems. I got sales expert Paul Ralph. He quickly helped me with sizing and explaining where to place the air handlers. I put a 12k in my large kitchen and dining room.

The MrCool 12K could have been done in a few hours, but I stopped to double check myself and get the manual out. This was simple and as my son said, ” DUUHH, dad, it’s Plug and Play”. (Second two MrCool 9K zones went much quicker.

) With the central gas unit, you get a blast of hot air and then it fades. Not with the MrCool, even temp all over. The MrCool ap on my phone was very simple. Allows you to label each air handler and control temperature, mode (air or heat ), fan speed and louver direction.

VERY VERY quiet operation! English seems to be the first language of the very helpful employees. This has been very easy from the phone, then the front order pick up desk, and finally to the warehouse loading staff.

Installation was pretty straight forward. It was pretty cool outside (40s and 50s) and the heater seemed to work very well. THEN it got warmer and the thermostat had to actually work correctly to decide whether it should heat or cool the room.

HUGE FAILURE HERE. No matter what you set the temperature to, it just does what it wants to do. We set it to 73 and an hour later walked into a 66 degree room! It didn’t matter how much we increased the temperature, the air kept running.

We finally turned it off to allow the temperature to come back up. We’ve tried every mode it offers–follow me, comfy mode, none work. My husband programs things like this for a living on a much larger scale and he said the programming is completely messed up.

I would NOT look at this unit if you need to use it for climate control for both heat and air.

We love it, it serves our purpose in a small houseboat. My only complaint is that the shift < > did not work, but no big deal as we can manipulate it manually if needed rather than the hassle of trying to send it back.

It is a great product other than that glitch, just hoping that is not a prelude to it;s future. The above review was written in 2020 , just after purchase. We are currently purchasing another unit. The first one totally quit after 13 months.

Just after warranty expired. We are purchasing another, much to my displeasure, but my husband thinks the other one was possibly defective. We’ll see. The first one was only used for cooling for a total of 5 months.

July, August and part of September of 2020, and June, July, of this year,21. I hope we have more luck with this next one. If not AUX will get a terrible review.

I brought a few same units. While almost 90% of AC is produced in China. AUX uses its own brand to sell in US. Good value. Additional info. The same model is 20-30% cheaper in China. Also installation cost is very low in China.

US you are probably either DIY or pay HVAC company 600$ to install one. The only suggestion that it could be better instruction, which will save customers’ time and support’s time. The product use different labelling than common U.

S. appliances. The indoor connects to outdoor unit via 4 wires, L1 (Red), L2 (Black), S(White) and Ground (Yellow-Green). All units are pre-wired in the indoor unit, while One unit was not wired at all.

How to connect: 1. Outdoor unit to main power: 3 wires The outdoor unit connection port has labels (L, N, S, and Ground), which should connect to 110V via 3 wires, L- Black (hot wire), N – White (neutural), and Ground.

S should be left without any wiring from external power. 2. Outdoor unit to indoor unit: 4 wires L1 goes to L, L2 goes to N, S goes to White, Ground goest to Ground. If you wire them wrongly, of course it will not run.

(Manual can be better written with colored wiring connection). As you can see, this labelling system is very confusing.

Anyone have a photo of the connections to the outside unit? The instructions are. confusing. Addendum : Finally figured out the wiring connections. Works. Well. Dead quiet. Cools a 15×15 room (with 9 foot ceilings) no problem, even when it’s pushing 100 degrees & 100% humidity outside.

I did a DIY install. May be a little much for a beginner, but if your good enough to follow the guys on PBS’s “This Old House” (and understand what they’re saying) you’ll should be okay. I was a little confused with the wiring at first, for some reason I thought it plugged into a regular 110 outlet through the indoor part.

It does not. You’ll have to run 30 amp wiring (and a 30 amp breaker) to your electrical panel, and add a weather proof cut off box outside by your unit (USA building codes). And run all your outside wiring through shielding.

The inside unit gets it power from the outside part. For some reason I was expecting about the same noise levels and air flow as a 12,000 btu window unit. It’s nothing like that. As I mentioned the inside unit is amazing quiet, and the airflow is much less than what you would get from an equivalent window unit.

But it DOES get the job done just fine, and the noise levels (or a lack thereof) is simply amazing. So now you know what to expect. Hope this helps you out, wish I could have read a review like this BEFORE I bought the thing.

Would have made the install go a lot quicker. As is probably took me 5-6 hours to install the first one, the second one should take about 1 hour once you know what your doing.

I absolutely Love my mini-split! Everyone there at Mr. Cool was soo helpful. Even with the shipping delays early in the shipping crisis, they worked tirelessly to get me my product. Communication was great too! The unit itself was really easy to install, though it would be nice if they took the time to Americanize the instructions.

For the most part, they are clear, but there were several very nebulous areas. A bigger issue was that they aren’t entirely model-specific. My unit did not come with a mounting template as other models apparently do.

There is also a lack of feet to raise the unit enough for the drain assembly that the instructions do not make clear whether it is even necessary or not. My AC tech said they never install them in CA.

Additionally, the unit only comes with a one-year warranty which is frustrating as other companies offer 2 and 3-year warranties. I chose and purchased before I was informed about the warranties. The unit itself is clean and works amazingly.

I LOVE the ability to turn it on with Siri literally anywhere! I can be at work 30 miles away and tell Siri to turn it on, and it works every time! My ac is nice and cold when I get home. The heater works nicely as well but has only had a couple of chilly days that I’ve needed it so far.

I also bought the line set covers, which were also installed easily and painted really well. I caulked all the openings to keep the critters out. I wish though that there was a better solution for line set covers when it leaves the building and connects to the actual compressor outside.

Overall 5 stars and would definitely purchase again.

The unit works great. The android app makes it easy to control from any place you have a phone connection. I like the FP (freeze Protection) mode as this is not living space, but has plumbing that I dont want to freeze.

I had some issues with the installation instructions. The mounting bracket, purchased thru IWAE, had very sparse installation instructions. I installed it on a building with metal siding and the instructions made no mention of this.

Also between the mounting kit and the unit kit I ended up with 2 sets of rubber pads. Instructions only reference to these was that rubber pads my be used to reduced vibration. Which ones? Through which holes? No mention of what to do with the drain hose once its outside.

This was my first install of one of these systems so I tried to follow the instructions precisely and ended up at a dead end several times not knowing what to do. Their help system was great. I didn’t try it on the weekend, but during the week you call, leave some information and the purchase and the problem, and they call back with answers within 30 minutes.

This unit was easy to set up, the parts were light, and it was a good fit for my 325sqft master suite. It gets VERY cold, and is very quiet indoors. Wi-Fi is excellent, and included – other companies make you pay, so that was a huge plus.

I was looking forward to having a mini-split at this price, but my wife and I are constantly waking up due to the large 4-5º temperature swings this unit subjects us to. It does not maintain set temp in “Cool” mode on “Auto” fan – rather, it shoots past it until the room is very cold (68º with a set temp of 73º), then shuts the compressor off and doesn’t turn back on until 75-77º.

(The condenser is wall-mounted, so it’s easy to confirm compressor operation by the faint buzz through the wall) We get frozen out when we go to bed, then wake up sweating since we sleep under the covers with the AC on.

Mr. Cool support can’t pinpoint anything wrong,, and the unit’s temperature sensor is getting accurate readings per the app – the circuit board just has very lenient logic that isn’t tuned tightly for comfort.

I will probably end up throwing this in the garage and buying a Mitsubishi unit unfortunately. I learned my lesson and should’ve spent a little more to begin with. (Perhaps the DIY or Olympus series models have better temperature control – but other brands definitely do, and have adjustments on the board if they are not to your liking).

The unit hasn’t been on line long enough to make a comment about reliability & cost to operate. However it was very easy to install with one exception. The instructions on how to connect the wiring to the inside unit was vague.

This section of the instructions could be clearer on the running the cable into the unit. I was concerned I would break the structure. As always, after wiring one, another would not be a problem. I could not find a video on line showing how to install this wiring.

Outside unit was simple, the tray for containing the piping was easy to install and looks great. The tube that goes through the wall is very cheesy and too short for my application. I bought a section of 2-1/2″ schedule 40 and made my own.

We just installed this system a few weeks ago and have used it for both AC and heat since we live in South Florida the weather is up and down during the Winter time. We installed this to add a separate zone for our master bedroom to use at nighttime and also to use during hurricane power outages with our generator.

We have been using this in quiet mode for both cooling and heating and have been absolutely amazed with how well this system works. My wife and I highly recommend this product! Thank you Mitsubishi for your quality!.

I am ecstatic with my new Gree 36K BTU Multi-21 mini-split out-door unit! After trying (unsuccessfully) to have the unit installed professionally, I purchased the necessary tools and did the installation myself.

With some assistance from a retired HVAC service tech, (I did the work while he critiqued and explained) the unit installation went perfectly. I had the system online in just over four hours. I do not recommend everyone do their own installation, but, with help it is possible.

I bought this mini-split for an older mobile home that I use as sort of a camp house/retreat. It works great generally, although I have noticed often that during winter and summer operation the temperature I try to set using the remote seems not to have a direct effect on the temperature the unit maintains.

It’s often off by several degrees. So in winter I must set it a few degrees higher and in summer a few degrees lower to get the desired temperature, despite using the remote temp. sensor (“I feel”) function.

For instance, last night (July 30. 2019) I set the remote to 71 deg. F, but when I woke up the actual room temperature (measured on two other thermometers in the room) was 73. 8 deg. When I used the remote to turn on the lighted screen on the wall unit, the wall unit seemed to wake up suddenly and start lowering the room temperature.

Both wall units seem to have their own agenda, and it’s not necessarily what I set them to maintain. The two wall units seem to stay on all the time and provide a nice white noise background. I read that this is normal and I hope it is.

Since we’ve had the hottest summer I can remember, it’s hard to tell if the electricity bill has gone down significantly, but it probably has, and would probably be much higher without the mini-split.

My other issue is the filter. There should be some way to signal from the wall unit that the filter needs cleaned. I finally figured it out when the unit started making all sorts of weird noise and wasn’t cooling, and I looked through the manual to find out way.

After I cleaned the filter, the noise went away. Also, I noticed that the company that installed it didn’t know much about how it worked. They are a good company, and I don’t necessarily want to fault them, because they tried to resolve all my issues, but the techs that came out to deal with the remote thermostat temperature issue and the outside temperature sensor issue had to keep calling Gree to get answers to questions.

That doesn’t seem very efficient. And they apparently never got answers, or at least didn’t communicate any information to me.

I purchased these about three months ago just in time for another sweltering summer. After years of using window units this was a big treat to myself. Can’t be more happy about them. They are quiet and do such a powerful job throughout the house (even my unit in the attic!).

My electric bill is far lower than it was with running all the units which makes me even more happy! So glad I decided to make the investment!.

I live in a very old house with radiators, and I never thought I’d be able to have central air. My sister is in the hvac industry and recommended these units. I LOVE them!! I don’t have to worry about getting the window units in and out, bugs or heat coming in around them, and to top it off, my electric bill has dropped dramatically! They are much quieter than window units and very easy to use.

The door is beautiful and as listed. However it is more translucent than we thought and the rails sound like real barn doors – that is too noisy. I might be able to add some graphite to quiet this down.

I also hope it is durable as it appears to be somewhat fragile.

Best-fit solution for my house reno project. Sole source heat in northern Michigan. Detailed studies in Manual J / CoolCalc helped me size this correctly. I acted as my own GC due to lack of trust in local contractors who just did not want to do the work required to prove the best solution for the problem.

Finding indie installer was a challenge but worked out well. Total Home Supply folks are top drawer trustworthy and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this supplier and OEM solution.

I ordered this unit for a one-room addition to my home in hot, humid Florida. My home office was always stuffy, and I was groggy from the heat by mid-afternoon. The unit was installed about a week ago, and it is even quieter than I could imagine I can easily control the temperature with the remote.

If the patio door is opened the unit on the wall self-adjusts to compensate for the loss of cool air and steps up until the temperature is back down. I love this thing. #sweepstakes.

So far, so good. This install is a 48K outside unit serving two branch boxes to do four heads. The build seems to be ‘commercial’, i. e. robust construction, flexability on the install, self monitoring with fault code display well represented.

A little more ‘some assembly required’ than comparable brands. Price was probably decent although extra cost of installing branch boxes (plus cost of boxes themselves) added $1000 to the price tag. Kind of nice just having two lines to the compressor.

The trade off is that it can be tricky to locate the branch boxes (must be located in the house). I find the heads to be very quiet, remotes all operate as advertized.

I am renovating a small cottage home that was built in 1957. The attic is only about 2′ tall at the apex and is very little room to run duct work. The house originally had 3 window units and in wall heaters that we never used due to in my opinion being major fire hazards.

We saw this unit and decided to give it a try since I had already torn out the walls and needed something to replace the old window units. I have had some experience with HVAC and electrical work so I didn’t find it that difficult to run the necessary tubing or wires although it was still a chore to get it routed through the attic and out to the outside compressor unit.

The only complaint I have is there is no good way to secure or hide the excess tubing that is left between the units. I will probably have to build a box to hide them so it doesn’t look so unsightly.

The operation of the units themselves are excellent? I did have one issue with one of the wifi controllers not working but customer service was very quick in sending me a new one and all is well. I love the ability to control the units remotely since this will be a weekend / summer home but I still need to provide some climate control to prevent mold due to the humidity buildup.

In the last month of having these units installed my electric bill has decreased drastically now that I don’t have to run a window unit constantly to maintain the humidity and temperature in an appropriate level.

First, I had a good experience with ordering through IWAE – Matthew was very helpful with my selection. My equipment arrived two days ago and I installed most of the first zone (24K) yesterday and finished off the electrical today, after picking up a couple parts.

Regarding function: The unit seems great after operating for the better part of the day. Very quiet and very effective. Regarding fit and finish: Looks pretty good except for some misaligned panels on the front of the air handler.

Will look into whether it is fixable or not. A bit annoying to look at. Regarding installation: I ran the lineset through the crawlspace and up an interior wall to best accommodate the center of my garage space.

Routing the lineset was somewhat challenging, due to the stiffness, especially as it made the turn of the wall. Franklly, this was easier than I expected. Hanging the air handler was a breeze and took a couple minutes.

With the help of a dolly, I was able to easily set the condenser unit on the pad that I had leveled about a foot from my house – easy. The challenges/frustration: 1) One end of the lineset had different lengths of greater than a foot.

This made partnering up very challenging and required that the lines be decently separated from each other, tearing the insulation away and requiring a much greater installation space. Due to this, I had to make a decision to either have an ugly outside setup or create a new false wall inside to accommodate the cluster – I chose the latter.

It is very ugly, but I will conceal it after I buy some more insulation sleeves. This will likely be a huge factor in deciding whether to buy one of these units again. Not a good situation. 2) The electrical knockouts are only setup to accommodate a 1/2-inch whip.

With a Max Breaker rating of 45a, I chose to use a 40a breaker, which, by code, requires 8-g wire, which functions well with a 3/4-in whip. Not the end of the world, but, if you choose to follow electrical code and/or get inspections, prepare for a frustrating time of trying to expand the knockout hole if you don’t have a stepping bit handy ($50).

Another questionable DIY moment. 3) I called IAWE and MRCOOL for support yesterday to help me with a couple points of confusion. End of day 2 and still no call back. Sure, I figured it out, but if not, I’d be adding a couple more days to my “simple” DIY job.

Premium Home Soource had the best picing on this – you get a lot of savings buying in a package rather than individually. Very quiet and energy efficient; I installed the unit during the last 2 weeks of my billing cycle and it reduced my bill by over 30 dollars for April; Mays bill is currently at 18 dollars and is projected to be 36 dollars for the month.

It was very easy to install. The condenser weighs at 125 lbs. according FEDEX. I watched a few YouTube videos on others who had installed a Mr. Cool to get an idea of what to expect. I’m a licensed electrician so that was no problem for me.

If you can operate a drill with a hole saw and know how to use a couple of wrenches to connect the line-set, then you can do this install yourself. If you don’t know anything about electrical you may want to hire that done.

I am very happy with the unit. The way it has reduced my electric bill, I think I will make my money back on the cost of the Mr. Cool in 3 years easy. If your home or trailer isn’t well insulated, you may not save as much as I am but I keep mine set at 70 and use the follow me function to use the remote as a thermostat and it keeps my 12′ x 60′ trailer more than comfortable.

I could say so much more but I don’t want to make this too long!.

I had purchased a mini split in June of 2019 with a 10 year warranty. In the summer of 2021 i started having issues with it loosing coolant. I had a qualified technician look at it and it took a year of trouble shooting to determine what the issue was.

It was the solenoid in the compressor that was leaking. I had reached out to Fujitsu and explained the issue and they wanted to speak to the technician before honoring the 10 year warranty. He called them and spoke to them and Fujitsu only wants to replace the solenoid.

The issue with that is it is very expensive for labor and if that’s going after a year what else is faulty in the compressor. I had asked they replace the whole compressor as i took the time and money to prove it out and its the major part of the system.

They had said only the solenoid, which is not that expensive, and no labor. I find this totally unacceptable for an item that is under warranty and only a couple of years old at this point. I would NEVER buy another Fujitsu product as they DO NOT stand behind their products.

I installed this unit myself and I was surprised how easy it was. Partly because of the location but also because there really isn’t that much to it and the instructions are very good. I did pay to have a licensed HVAC tech make the tubing connections, pressure test and release the refrigerant.

I live in the Seattle area where a mini-split install (including the unit) runs about $6500 on average. I was able to do the entire project for $3,000. The Fujitsu is a high quality product. It’s whisper quiet and delivers excellent heat and cooling.

The only thing I thought was confusing was the air filtering. Very poor instructions on that subject. You get a roll of some kind of filtering material and no explanation on where it actually fits in the filter holder.

I need to look at some YouTube for that.

Have had the unit in use for 2 weeks & so far at this point have been completely pleased with the unit. We are in a moderate climate and at this time of year have not challenged at all, the heating capacity or efficiency.

These units operate a little differently that say a natural gas furnace, in that it takes a few minutes for it to cycle up to begin generating heat. Example: at about 42 degrees outside temp, it takes about 15-20 minutes to fully cycle up to fully heat, although it does provide incremental heat in the process.

I don’t consider this a negative, it’s just different than systems I am familiar with. I have every expectation this unit will function very well for years to come. I researched mini-split units extensively before making this choice.

Unit was perfect replacement for original. Everything was compatible, just a slightly new model than original.

I installed this 4 zone unit few months ago and its solid! I wish I it had some WiFi capabilities to control it but I bought the Sensibo device and I got around that limitation. It was cheaper that retrofitting the unit with the ceiling controller that was being sold as an addon.

Units are super quiet too.
