20 Best Drop Hitch For Lifted Trucks (2023 Updated)

Do yourself a favor and get this tow hitch! It is absolutely work that every dime they sell it for! And wholesale marine shipping never disappoints!

After researching a bunch of hitches, this one was a standout due to its high weight ratings, 18,000 lbs on the 2. 516 ball, and 10,000 I believe on the 2” ball. The weights are stamped right into the trailer balls.

Many other hitches I looked at including the high end ones were only 14,500 and 7500-8000 for the 2 inch ball. This thing is a bit flashy for my taste, but it matches my chrome bumper on my new Silverado 2500HD really well, regardless.

It feels well made, and is really solid without weighing 40 lbs like some other Steel hitches. There is some slop in the mount, but it’s not as bad as some reviews say online or on Home Essentials Direct, it’s actually acceptable in my opinion.

If I could of found a WS or B&W with ratings this high I would’ve bought them. Weigh Safe makes a steel powder coated hitch with I believe a 20,000 lb rating, but it’s heavy, and its $300 without a lock for the pin at the hitch.

Also, I’ve read a lot of reviews that say the scale on the weigh safe tends to fail, and in some reviews, quickly. I believe the WS are good quality hitches, and Made in USA, but I didn’t want risk $300 or more if the scale was going to fail.

This Fastway also has “made in USA” in it, and appears to be of high quality construction.

What a nice looking, solid chunk of aluminum. I get compliments on it and it seems to work as it should. I have no reason to expect it to fail. My only concern is other human beings. This thing might grow legs.

But I keep a lock on it.

This hitch is so universal & extremely well made. It is well worth the money. I do suggest to purchase the hitch locks that are made for it. There are 2 locks sold together in the pack. One for the receiver & one for the adjustable ball part.

If you tow multiple trailers this is excellent! Adjusting the height is incredibly easy! I have a 2500 Ram, this hitch makes it easy to keep any trailer level which stops the side-to-side sway at highway speeds.

This hitch is extremely solid and well designed. One key locks both the pin and height adjustment assembly. Highly recommended.

I haven’t used the hitch yet, but it looks well built and has a great finish. I purchased it with the keyed alike reciever lock. When I received it , hitch and lock weren’t keyed the same. I contacted weigh safe and they switched it with no hassle.

Purchased with club 10% off coupon and was a little less than hitch purchased without the lock pin, so it was a good price.

The whole point of buying this was the “weigh safe” weight indicator that makes this line of hitches useful. The fact that this one does not have the dial is a bait and switch. I would never recommend buying from this vendor as the whole point I paid this much for the hitch was the dial option.

Horrible product.

Bought this for my Dad for his birthday he was super excited. He said it was just what he needed. He felt uncomfortable with how much he had to lift the RV up to his RAM 3500. He couldn’t be happier.

I have to say hitch was more than i expected. Hitch is solid and a quality built piece. The picture in the website looks good, but once you have it in your hands your like Whoa! in a good way.

This works as advertised, however it sticks out away from the hitch pretty far. Standard trailer safety chains are not long enough to reach the truck using this hitch. I have several trailers and getting longer chains are about $50 each.

Factor that in your purchase.

Like the flexibility it gives me for multiple trailers. Had to add extensions for chains and wiring on smaller trailers. Very heavy, could be problem for some people. But that means also heavy duty. Would recommend.

The Trimax Razor XTR is as good as advertised. I have several trailers that I pull and this is the first hitch that I have owned that allows me to quickly and easily adjust the ball height to make each trailer pull level.

This is a very well machined product with ease of adjustment features and a ball locking device. My only regret is that it took me this long to purchase one.

Good; I received the hitch faster than expected. Looks are good. Love the locking capabilities of the ball mount. Love the adjustability. Bad; The receiver locking pin is not designed for larger than a Class III hitch.

It is about half an inch too short to lock. Do not be fooled by the pictures. You have to assemble the ball yourself. You will need two 1/2″ drivers to tighten them together. This should have come from the manufacturer already assembled.

It’s nice but it’s aluminum. Don’t expect it to be durable as steel. First time I used it the first nick in it. The second time first gouge. It’s soft and anything hits it it’s got a mark in it. Get stainless if u want it to be durable.

And the chrome on the ball that’s on it is gone the first trip.

I’ve been using my Aluminum adjustable hitch for around a year now and am very impressed with it. Generally I use it as a rise for my dump trailer which sits very high. I have towed 8000-9000 pounds several times and this works great.

Only complaint I have is that there is some minor play, I believe from only having 1 pin. However I am much more impressed with this than the competitors heavy corrodible steel hitches.

I have owned one of these hitches for 4 years now. I have towed a 10,000 lbs trailer on the lowest drop setting all over and this is a great strong hitch. Any hitch has a little play. This is normal and when on sale it’s not a bad deal at Canadian Tire.

Great design and polished aluminum make this hitch a eye catcher. Precision machining provides for excellent fit and makes any adjustments very easy. Price, Quality, and appearance make this a great buy.

Nice hitch well built worth the $$. My biggest complaint about this hitch-ball setup is the machined edges of the hitch. When adjusting the ball height there are sharp edges to avoid or youll end up with bandages before its all done.

Also, when set at the lowest setting there is movement/slop with the hitch ball. Havent hooked anything up to the hitch at that setting but expect some noise from that when I do.

It’s hitch ball and drop! What more can you say! It would be nice if there was a built-in stop for the ball nut like Reese puts on theirs but that’s nothing to sweat!

Solid receiver and looks sharp. With a 35 inch spare tire on the back, the receiver’s ability to adjust is exactly what I needed.

This trailer receiver is very light weight and strong design. I love the look and the weight savings so my tool box of trailer stuff I keep in my vehicle is much lighter now. I can have all my trailer hitch ball sizes with me all the time and still be able to lift my kit out of the vehicle in times where I need more space temporarily.

Works as advertised, great quality. I use this to to tow a 5’x8′ trailer with no problems, fits the receiver and 2″ ball like a glove.

Just as expected. Awesome price on what is at least initially a great hitch. I would say the only improvement would be to have the “notch” so the ball rests and locks in place to make tightening easier.

Bought this hitch awhile back, good price but poor design and is a danger on the highway. The two balls on the receiver are only held by one set screw/bolt. To make a long story short as I was backing by UTV off my single axle trailer the ball came out of the receiver due to the set screw breaking.

Luckily this didn’t happen on the highway as this could have killed someone. My new trucks tailgate was unfortunately down so you can just imagine what that looks like.

The product maybe great, but not worth buying through camping world. Even on sale cost More than that big online company. Appears to work for our needs, but not installed on the tow vehicle. Purchase because product states for application upper or lower.

Very easy to change out what size ball hitch you need. Light weight yet durable. The staff at Camping World were very kind, courteous and accommodating.

Well made. Have used several different sizes over the years and Roadmaster has always been my go to brand. Never had any type of failure.

Great product. Only issue is it fits very tight. I had to use a hammer to get on and off.

Bought because I added a 2-5/16 trailer, but still need to haul trailers with 2 inch. I had no idea what height I needed on the new trailer so also needed to have adjustable height. This seemed to be the best value on the market that made it quick and easy to switch trailers.

So far, used it once for about 200 miles. It worked perfectly with the solid aluminum piece showing only cosmetic signs of wear. Very satisfied. This met all my needs perfectly. It has been pointed out that I should not leave it on the truck when not in use because it is an attractive accessory to steal! Also, although not shown, it comes with 2 sets of pins – everything needed to mount into a 2 inch receiver.

I like the fact there are close tolerances where the adjustable ball portion attaches to the receiver part which makes it tight and very secure (no wiggle room & no noise). My standard steel ball hitch has 5,000 lb capacity and 500 lb tongue weight where this is 6,000 lb/600 lb capacity.

An extra 1,000 capacity to ease my mind when I hit those hard bumps/jolts on the highway or gravel roads. Used a 20% off coupon so the price came down to just above $100. Cannot find another quality solid aluminum hitch for this price anywhere.

With the tight tolerances I expect this will last and not wear out for a long long time.

I like this hitch except for one thing: the pins. The pins are designed for clips. If the pins had 1/4 inch or slightly larger holes instead of grooves, it would be possible to use the holes for a padlock or locking pin, but also accomodate the included clips.

I don’t think it would cost the manufacturer any more to drill holes than to cut those grooves and it would definitely improve the security capability. This is a nice hitch and I don’t want it stolen, especially if I have a trailer attached.

Drive a new Ford F 150 Lariat that I have spent quite a bit of time dolling up with the help of AutoAnything. When it came to a hitch, I wanted something that was robust and adjustable. I certainly did not want an ugly steel hitch sticking out of the back of my truck.

The Triamax Razon XTR fully filled the bill. It came packed in a foam divided, stout box complete with instructions. As an added bonus, the essential locking pin was included with the hitch. Super hitch, super company, AutoAnything.

The hitch is a well built and functional hitch. The kit I was sent which included the hitch and a pin to lock the hitch to the receiver on the truck. The pin was too short and would not protrude far enough through the receiver to allow the lock that was provided to be able to function.

I contacted the vendor and they flippantly commented that if I had a newer vehicle then the pin would not work and I could buy another, longer, pin from them. This is not full disclosure advertising.

amazing hitch. I think the tow weight is 10k. Its like a work of art. cant tell from the pic but it has a sq drive on the tops of the balls to attach, clever, you could also just buy a single ball and install.

I got the 6 inch it has 4 heights. it comes with a receiver lock keyed the same as the height adjust. the good ,round barrel type keys(4)only a 1/4 turn to open. trimax also makes stainless steel receiver locks and hitch locks both in a set.

trimax people are great. highly recommend.

The fit is loose, this is very concerning for safe towing. Nice case and features. Comes with 2 locking pins. I like the way the balls seat into their collar. The draw bar is very loose in the truck’s receiver.

The adjustable collar corner doesn’t securely seat into the vertical bar groove. Basically you are relying on the pins themselves for your towing capacity because the rest of everything is pretty loose.

Will probably spend almost 3x’s as much for a cast steel draw bar with adjustable height and multi balls – for the sake of safety and security.

There is slop between the receiver hitch of the vehicle and the head unit when inserted. There is slop between the head unit and the vertical adjustment bracket. There is slop between the vertical adjustment bracket and the ball assemblies.

When you combine all of this slop and movement, the total amount of slop between the vehicle, and ultimately, the trailer ball is beyond excessive. No way I would trust this hitch. Immediately returned.

Overall so far I am satisfied with the product even though I have not used it to tow anything yet. I like the carry case that keeps everything in one place. I like the versatility and adjustability of the product.

The shank could be longer as when I install it in the rise configuration it is too close to my bumper. I plan to use a hitch extension to fix that. The hitch fit is pretty sloppy but I hope to fix that with a hitch tightener and plan to use a 5/8″ hardened bolt to tighten the C section.

I do not know how to tighten the balls.

MThe construction and welds appear to be excellent. It had the drop I required for my lifted Pick-Up. One needs to keep in mind the receiver portion of the “Drop Hitch” is in fact 2″X2″ which is standard for this class hitch.

I measured it and that’s the dimensions. The Receiver end on my pick up is slightly larger, which it would need to be to accept the hitch yes? So there is a little play, and to solve that I simply put one wrap of duct tape around the hitch.

Forced it in as now it’s slightly too large. NO PLAY, no rattle. The Smittybilt Hitch will work fine either way.

So far so great! Loving the hitch, even though I have’t towed anything heavy enough to use the tongue weight scale, but the Adjustable drop is wonderful, and the two tow Ball sizes is great too. Love that they are hooked into the hitch from the inside so I don’t have to worry about losing the Pin if I forget to remove the Ball from the hitch like my husband’s hitch.

Love that the Weight part locks to the hitch as well! Love that it is much lighter than the one my hubby has too and just as versatile. Everyone loved his for the longest time until I got mine. The only thing he has that I don’t is an additional ball size.

Im happy for the peace of mind that the Weigh Safe hitch provides. If you load and balance your trailer properly then the tongue weight should be in the proper range. This hitch confirms what you should expect.

It really becomes necessary when working with loads at the boundary of the equipment limits. The hitch is well designed and well made.

Quite often I’m disappointed with a premium product after purchase. Not this time! This is a great hitch. Design, fit, finish, quality of materials; all top notch. Still a bit pricey, but not too bad.

The only thing it needs is a lanyard on the lock’s dust cover so it doesn’t get lost.
