Some things about this are amazing primarily its portability and ease of flying. Once youve got through the minor pain of setup, you can fly it around with ease. Picture quality is soso its never that sharp and the colour depth isnt great, but if you shoot RAW you can turn out OK pictures nothing like SLR quality, but then you wouldnt really expect that.

JPEGs seem to generate reasonable colour but ridiculous oversharpening, for me at least dont really use them. Reliability is the big let down for me. That covers a few points1 About 1 in 4 times when I fire up the controller, it just beeps repeatedly and loudly and wont connect to drone same alarm you get when the drone is running out of battery, but it isnt.

No obvious way to predict when this will happen, only solution is to keep turning it on and off and after maybe 35 mins itll just work. No clue why. 2 Sometimes, the camera gimbal just sinks down to look at the ground, for no reason, and refuses to react to controls from the app except when you reset it then it jumps up, and slowly falls back down.

Return home, land, turn on and off a few times, and it normally works again but youve just used half your battery charge. Ive also never had it level always tilts to one side, doesnt seem fixable but Ive not looked hard enough to know if it can be adjusted.

3 Ive never seen menu options for Tripod Mode or the fancy Panoramic shots like the cool sphere view Id love to do. Just not there, no indication of why or how to get them. 4 I have never had a geotagged location attached to any picture taken with it, JPEG or RAW.

Again, no indication why or how to make this work the GPS is clearly working when I fly, just wont write to images. 5 After a modest 72 flights over 6 months or so, it just stopped working I flew it fine, packed it away, drove somewhere, pulled it out again 2 hours later, no joy.

Claimed processor was overheating, it turns out because of fan failure a problem many many people have had search their forums, but DJI refused to fix under warranty because there was some dust inside the case.

It turns out you may not fly the drone anywhere with dust, without voiding the warranty good luck with that. The warranty not only states that you cant fly near dust, but it also says you cant fly if there are any foreign bodies inside the case sand, oil, water, etc which appears sensible, but as its a closed case, and opening it to check clean would void the warranty, in reality it seems more like a way to avoid honouring the warranty, should they choose.

I cant say if other drone manufacturers are the same maybe they are. Having a working drone is better than not having a drone, for me, and I enjoy using it when I can, but I really dont enjoy the repeated problems, so.

Its difficult to put into words how much I love this drone. DJI have a deserved reputation for the outstanding quality of their products. All I can say is it is well deserved. The video output from this is rock solid and as good as I can ever foresee needing up to 30fps in 4K or 120fps in 1080p.

There are so many great things about this it would take an age to enumerate them all. But here are a few quality, portability will fit in a decent sized coat pocket, can fly it using your phone, flies beautifully, quieter than a lot of other drones, intelligent flight mode avoids objects in its path, follow mode, tap fly, cinema mode.

Being a wifi flyer although the range in ideal conditions is quoted as 4kms remember that flying out of line of sight is either illegal or not recommended depending upon your location this is not an issue in real world use.

Its not absolutely perfect, but it is close enough. Simply the best all round personal drone on the market. Not cheap, but worth every penny if you like flying drones and want to record excellent video.

A word of warning you will need a decent spec phone or tablet with adapter to use it to its full potential. I have a Xiaomi 3, which is one of the phones on DJIs recommended list and it works well. Extra batteries are a good idea, but not essential.

The first time you fire it up you will probably get through most of one battery updating the firmware. This can be done through your phone internet connection, or you can plug the drone into your PC and update using DJI Assistant 2.

After that its just ENJOY.

While this may be the best built drone in the industry, there’s a HUGE problem. and it’s DJI itself. No exageration, it may be impossible to fly it where you are because DJI has deemed it “unsafe. ” That means you can’t takeoff.

Or it may mean using literally 25+% of the battery life to get past all the popups, locking codes, warnings, check boxes and such. that doesn’t include the time for the mandatory response text to your phone for the unlocking code.

That reduces your 31 minutes of flying time to closer to 9 minutes with an adequate safety margin. OR you may never get it to fly. Bear in mind we’re not talking flying across the street from an airport.

I live miles and miles away from an airport and not in a flight path, and yet this drone is considered to be too close. Therefore, I’m lockout from flying. It’s virtually impossible to fly in ANY populated area.

A word of caution, should you buy a DJI drone, -NEVER, EVER- “upgrade the software on the drone or controller!!!!” They are constantly locking down more and more places you can fly. Also of note is that the batteries are insanely expensive.

You can buy two or even three similar batteries for a standard DJI Mavic drone of almost the same capacity. It’s just a money grab. A sage word of advice. Spend the 50 bucks and get the “fix” for the limitations through a 3rd party and fly when and where YOU want, not DJI.

Its pretty much the best consumer drone out there. I wish DJI didnt have geofencing. I have an Evo 2 8K. This one is much better in a lot of ways. The Evo 2 has way better obstacle avoidance, longer flight time, looks cooler, handles high wind better.

However, The Mavic 2 Pro has way better image quality (stills/videos), quieter, and can use an optional smart controller.

This drone has an amazing range! Took this little drone everywhere I go. Its easy to operate and the user interface is easy to understand as well. Fly time is amazing with average of 22-27 minutes useable time.

As of the time writing this review, There nothing else in the market like this. dJI drone are leaps ahead of the competition. No wonder theyre not releasing Mavic 3 anytime soon. But to be honest theres no much else to improve really.

Maybe more range, more battery life, and even higher quality camera. But really!? This camera is 20m pixel and shots silky smooth 4K video. Anyhow, if youre on the fence about getting this drone. Get it you wont be disappointed! Have fun and be good drone pilot, dont ruin for all the law obeying drone pilots out there.

This is my very first drone. I didnt have any expectations. The drone comes in a nice presentable durable and protective case which makes a great first impression of the drone. The batteries, the charger, the set of spare propellers, the drone and the remote werte packed nicely and smuggly in the case.

Love that too. The assembling process is quite easy. It might look a bit difficult for beginners like me. I personally found it more useful to watch the short video tutorial that can be found by scanning the QR code on the tag that was attached to the drone (or remote).

The video tutorial can be found inside the app that is used for connecting the phone and the device. To my beginner’s limited experience with drones the quality of the drone looks quite decent. The propellers are made of plastic and they are quite light and might be broken easily but there are a few sets of spare propellers in the case.

The holder for the smartphone on the remote feels a bit flimsy and not stable enough. as talking about flying capabilities of the drone, it takes off very smoothly with a touch of a take off button. it also lands after like 30 seconds after pressing the lock button depending on the height that the drone was flying.

overall, i am happy with the drone, i should practice more “flying”.

This drone has seriously impressed me. This comes with a great manual to refer to and help set up. I am pleased with the performance of this drone so far. First off, this is an excellent bundle. All I can say is WOW! This is the coolest drone I’ve ever flown.

The remote control is easy to use and ergonomically friendly. The controller is nice in the hands, balances okay with a Pixel and quite well with an iPhone or android device The drone is very controllable even when there is a breeze.

The strength of this drone is very strong fighting through really windy days. The instructions were clear and within minutes of downloading the app it was up and flying. The app it uses is compatible with Iphone and other operating system based devices.

The instructions for setup is very clear and with lot of videos to watch. I will say that my drone did everything it was designed to do and especially with the safety features for beginners, they are AWESOME.

The video and pictures look nice as long as I keep the flight smooth. The photos took by the aircraft are very clear. The video is smoothly when captured in flying mode. The camera has a 180 degree view.

Total flying time has been from 25 to 35 minutes. There’s different speeds to the drone as it flys and it’s easy to make it take off and return to you. This drone has intelligent GPS so you can keep track of your drone during flight.

Thanks to gps, which I think is a must. After reading the directions and some practice, i did NOT have a crash and burn episode and did NOT lose the drone. The active track is much better, although I have not used it much.

Everything came in a handy carrying case. It is a really nice case made of premium-feeling materials and holds everything perfectly. The case with everything in it is super light and sturdy for easy transport.

It’s very compact when folded and fits well into a small-ish case so parts dont get lost. Sincerely, a very satisfied new drone flyer! Overall a great product that I would recommend to others.

I’m so happy that I bought this Drone with me while on vacation overseas in the Philippines. I was so amazed on how great the photos and videos came out in 4K. The drone was so easy to fly right off the bat.

It has a robust build and the battery life is extended due to the new quieter propeller design. I’m also glad that my kit came with the landing pad and extended landing attachments which helps raise the drone and protect the gimbal/camera assembly.

I didn’t use the included backpack and bought seperate protective containers for the drone, controller and batteries instead, but I’m using the backpack now for storage. I did my homework before making my purchase and the Mavic Pro was hands-down the most reliable drone to fly when comparing with the smaller Mavic Air.

The determining factor that led me to choose the Mavic Pro over the Mavic Air was the occusync communications. I didn’t want to risk losing my drone over poor connection using unreliable enhanced WiFi that the Air uses.

I like the smaller, compact size of Air, but the controller for the Air lacks the information and LCD readout that the Mavic Pro has.

I’ve taken pictures with a very nice Nikon D800 for many years. I’ve always been interested in aerial photography, but just didn’t have the right equipment. I have a pilot’s license and for a while, I even owned a plane, but just never could get the vision and the photos to meet.

Drones that take good pictures were cost prohibitive and the learning curve to fly them was steep. Until now. The Mavic Pro (Platinum) has given me new confidence and a new tool in my bag. Still, it will just about fly itself in most situations. My ability to control it is basically only limited by my imagination. This is not a toy and never should be treated as such. I purchased a smaller, faster drone without a camera and have been using it to learn to fly these type of craft with more precision.

When people watch me fly the Mavic, they are fooled into thinking that the skill is mine. The credit belongs to DJI and this wonderful new photo friend who stays with me or in my truck now anytime I go out to shoot pictures.

Highly recommend this. I’ve heard a Mavic 2 is in the works, so will be excited to see what’s next.

Prior to DJI releasing this drone I had the DJI Mini 2 fly more combo. When DJI released this drone I had to have it! The look, feel and especially when you turn it on the start up cycle it does and phenomenal! After only a few days of trying it out I learned pretty quick it wasn’t for me.

First, you have 3 batteries (drone, remote, goggles) to charge all the time which is a task in itself as the battery life is not like non-FPV drones. That said, I was coming from a regular drone and use to really good battery life.

As far as FPV drones go DJI from what I’ve learned does have the best but it doesn’t compare to non-FPV drones like my previous one. This thing is FAST! Manual mode is crazy and something I didn’t have the patience to stick with though.

Fortunately DJI did build in a virtual course so you can practice without risking crashing but the control functions to fly in manual change completely and I didn’t want to deal with not only learning multiple flying controls for the same drone but toggling back and forth all the time.

Ultimately, I ended up returning this drone for the DJI Air 2S Fly More Combo and couldn’t be happier! If you’re in to racing and getting killer shots and have the patience and maybe some extra batteries the DJI FPV is the drone for you.

But, if you’re looking for a simple to use picture and video drone with better distance and more features then I wouldn’t go this route.

My drone recently malfunction mid-flight which caused it emergency land in the middle of the ocean. I bought the Mavic air 2 fly more combo less than a year ago. I contacted customer service and they told me due to that I don’t have the serial number of the drone which is located on the actual drone, which sinked to the bottom of the ocean.

After being extremely frustrated I still then suggested if they can look up my warranty under my name or perhaps use the remote controller in order to trace the drone itself. Their only suggestion was to buy a new drone.

I asked to speak to a manager and they couldn’t connect me to a manager to seek further help. I am extremely angry, how do they suggest more service if they can’t even accommodate their own customers.

The customer service rep seem to be eager to get me off the phone rather than trying to assist my needs. I have spent over $1200+ on this product. My advice is to save a bit more money and buy a better drone with a different company this is an absolute cash grab.

I love my drone, but however I would reconsider purchasing their product. Talk about supporting their customers!!.

The technology in this DJI device is amazing and it operates very well. It has many features I am interested in using but even more than I need. It is a complete package, well made, and a lof of good design as well.

The price for this item is very good also and I actually just bought another one. My next purchase will also be a Platinum version already ordered. I fly it with a Lenovo M10 tablet using an OTG cable.

Excellent combination of ability, good imaging, and speed. Control is best in the industry.

So I set out to buy my first drone. I started out and the goal was to find a quad in the $100 price range and if everything worked out I would spend a little more on my next one. I did tons of research.

I literally spent days and days fixated on drones. I watched video after video and read review after review and I just could not find a drone that I felt would even be worth buying for the price range I had in mind.

So I just increased my budget a little and started looking in the $200 – $300 range. I was dissappointed to find the same results. Guys there is literally nothing out there for someone who is looking for a drone with any sort of quality until you get into the price range of DJI’s lower end stuff but let me just say wow! I am glad I spent the extra money and went with DJI.

This thing is absolutely amazing. The video quality is amazing and flight controls are very simple. If you are considering buying one of these and you’re on the fence about it, DO IT. You will not be disappointed.

Just make sure you go ahead and either get one that comes with the extra batteries or buy a couple extras. You might want to consider a charger that will charge multiple batteries simultaiously also because you only get around 20 to 25 minutes out of a battery and charge time is around an hour and a half per battery.

You are not gonna want to put this thing down. This is the funnest “toy” I have had since my first bicycle.

Well I bought it even though it said cosmetically it was a little beat up, which I didn’t mind, but it never said anything about missing parts. The drone and camera worked fine, but it was missing the “Vision positioning sensor module”.

That specific part also has the button to “pair RC to remote”, so this was an issue when trying to fly the drone when I 1st got it. Took me 2 days to remove the sensor from my crashed drone to this one that I purchased.

Also had to figure out how to get the app to work and upgrade everything again. (Mostly DJI’s fault). But other than that. Drone works now and flew it a few times already. I like the distance on this drone.

I have never owned a drone before and am not a R/C enthusiast. I’ve watched YouTube videos and tutorials, collecting as much information as I could before making a decision. Lost of “experts” say that you should buy a cheap drone for practice.

then I heard another opinion that these fly so easily that it’s actually better to start off with a good one as they are much more precise. So, I jumped in and bought this DJI Phantom 3 Pro from Adorama (where I get all of my photo/video gear).

along with the extra battery (you will want the extra battery). good decision. I live in rural PA, so I don’t have the restrictions that many are facing with their flying cameras. Although I did learn quite fast, that I can NOT use this drone as part of my photography business as that constitutes “commercial use”.

so, it is an expensive toy that I am improving my aerial video skills with until regs are firm and I am “certified” to fly one for profit. Right out of the box, it’s pretty fool proof. Charge your controller, charge the batteries (not at the same time).

while reading the quick start information and most important. installing the operator software. DJI go app was installed on my iPad mini-2 which is one of the approved devices you will NEED to fly your drone.

Right away, there was an update required for the controller and the drone/quad. I did the controller ap update right through wi-fi and the drone itself had to be updated using the micro card. 30 minutes later, all was updated and good to go.

Took the Phantom out in the driveway, did the required calibration procedure. had live feed from the camera to the ap. and I did the automatic takeoff. IMPRESSIVE. The craft zipped up to around 4′ and waited for my controls to send it off and let the learning begin.

The video feed is FANTASTIC. unreal to see the bird’s eye view on a screen right in your hands. I operated in the open mode, not beginner mode. remember, I’m in the country so don’t have city, houses and people to worry about.

It flew perfectly and was stunningly accurate. The 4k video set on “vivid” from the camera menu is perfect right out of the camera. You can extract stills from the video later on, or take stills with your right hand pointer finger.

video button/record is on the left side. With no experience, I found the controls intuitive and easy to get a feel for. Battery is good for about 20 minutes before your alarms start beeping and you have to go home.

and get that backup battery I told you about. I took it slow. flying sideways, forward, up, down, backwards which provides a fantastic cinematic pull-back shot. Now, I “was” thinking of the inspire system because of the 360 deg gimbal and camera.

but now that I have the P3 pro. it makes perfect sense for someone who wants to work alone to have this unit. the camera faces forward and all of the controls are in one place, with one controller. It’s simple, it’s precise and compact.

The Inspire takes up a lot of storage real-estate and may require two pilots. one for the craft and one for the camera. THIS system is perfect for me and what I want to do. The precision of the controls and the hovering stability, have allowed me to walk it through the woods, around trees, over the pond and in video, appears like I have the largest slider ever made.

I’m very VERY pleased and would definitely endorse this to anyone, regardless of your skill level. It’s a lot of money. but I kept thinking. I’m buying this system cheaper than the cost of one pro lens! It advances my video potential beyond all expectation.

I’m a fan. perfect size, so so still photographer, GREAT video. with manual exposure controls, or automatic settings as you prefer.

My dad bought the DJI Phantom 3 Standard, which I really liked. It led me to look into the differences in models and whether they were worth the extra money to me. The Pro (this model) has a much longer range and additional satellites it uses for positioning, which I believe helps prevent fly aways.

The 4K camera is beautiful, but I haven’t found a video service that I can share 4k videos yet. I’m sure they’re online somewhere, but I’m new to it, so I haven’t found them yet. The major difference I noticed right out of the box is that the remote controller is much more substatial in my hands.

It’s got buttons for many functions, that with the Standard, you’d have to go searching within the app to use and that is fussy while flying. I also like the built-in tablet holder vs the Standard’s small clip that is only capable of holding a phone.

The Pro also has a higher powered battery charger and it charges batteries much faster than the Standard’s charger. Less charging, more flying! I’m sure there are many more differences, but these jumped out at me immediately.

So, the long and short of it is; whould I have paid $300 more than a standard for the Pro? No. But that’s simply because I’m very patient and waited for a better price. I paid $569 for my new Phantom 3 Pro, which is only$69 more than my dad paid for his standard just a month before.

In this case, the upgrade was a no brainer. Keep you eyes peeled for a good price on the Pro and snatch it right away when you find it. For less than $100, the upgrade was absolutely worth it! Happy flying!.

First of all, the service from Adorama was outstanding. I had a problem with the battery that came with the drone, but Adorama had me return it with no questions asked and they sent me an entire new unit pronto.

I’ve purchased a great deal of my gear from them over the years and will continue into the foreseeable future. Now, I am extremely new to drones and do not know how to fly them. I am though, a pro videographer/photographer, which is the primary reason I bought this drone.

I read and watched a multitude of reviews and posts and decided that largely because of the camera, this was the one for me. I made about four test flights with the Phantom before taking this on my vacation to New Hampshire.

I was deeply concerned because the forecast for the week that I was going to be there had temperatures for the entire week in the sub zero range with highs in single digits with wind chill in the 20s.

I viewed all the warnings and learned a few things. Keeping the battery warm goes a long way in flying this drone in cold weather. Although fearful I’d loos my drone, I almost had no choice because the scenery was so outstanding and my time there was limited.

So with much trepidation, I put it in the air. Wowwwww is all I could say after thawing my fingers and watching the footage. A number of times, I did get a high wind velocity warning, thus I did not fly higher than 100 feet and most of the time, much less than that.

And there was only a few times I got a battery temperature warning, which I landed Immediately following. Now I can’t fly a drone anymore than I can fly a real plane, but the Phantom Is so stable and the remote is so easy to use that it feels easier than I’ve heard it is to fly drones.

A couple of days, it was snowing while I flew as can be seen in my videos. Notice how the snow was whipping around as I flew over the building and also notice that as I flew the Phantom over the Saco River the snow was falling almost horizontally.

Likewise, back at home in Florida at Red Reef the coconut palm trees are swaying pretty hard. Nevertheless, the Phantom is as steady as if it’s on a crane. And the video quality is superb. I did set the camera manually and used ND filters for each shot, which are excellent features with the Phantom.

I love the ability to manually set the exposure. I am so impressed with the steadiness and durability of this drone, especially in inclement weather, but I’m even more impressed with the quality of footage out of the camera.

Now I do not suggest or promote using your Phantom in the type of weather I used mine. Remember, I was desperate. I do however, and very strongly recommend this particular drone to anyone who needs an all around professional drone.

When I purchased the Phantom 4 Pro I had the choice of this product or the Phantom 4 Pro+ which includes a controller with integrated screen running Android. I decided to purchase the Pro given the Plus does not allow use of third party software such as Litchi or Pix4D which are useful for photography or creating maps.

That said with the Pro, one must use either an iOS or Android device with the included controller. Initially I attempted to use an iPad Mini and iPhone 5S. In both cases I found the Apple devices overheated and were unable to sustain the display of video from the Phantom once the Apple processor throttle to protect itself from heat.

Subsequently I purchased a Samsung Tab S2 which has no thermal issues though struggles to connect to the Phantom’s controller, a known problem with all Samsung Android devices with DJI’s hardware/software.

But simple workaround solved this issue and I’m happy with the Samsung Tab S2. Point in fact if using an Apple their iPad Pro devices are engineered to manage heat, where the Mini is not. Samsung is a good option at a lower price but requires a specific sequence of events to connect and is reliable when used this way.

Asus ZenFone 3, sold by ABT, works with zero issues though is a smaller 5. 5 inch screen. Also notable is that the DJI Phantom 4 battery is not the same as the Phantom 4 Pro battery. The Pro battery has higher capacity (500 mAh) which translates into longer flight time.

Both batteries fit the Phantom 4 Pro.

I am a advanced RC fixed wing, helicopter, and Race Drone pilot. I have over 35 years of RC Aircraft experience. The Phantom 4 Pro + isExtremely easy to use and fly. I let people with no drone or RC experience take off, fly around, and land it by themselves.

I even let my kids fly it. The camera footage is spectacular and cinematic. The drone has many advanced features and options so it pays to learn them to get the most out of this camera drone. The flight performance is on the high end.

It can fly very fast and very high. It has super quick acceleration if you push the sticks all the way. Super slow and stable when your gentle on the sticks. I highly recommend learning and studying as much as you can about this drone if you are considering buying one.

Also, DJI carries other models that perform very well. There are many options. I have flown many, many different drones including other DJI drones and this one is the best. The Phantom 3 and 4 standard fly with similar stability and performance but having rear facing obstacle avoidance while backing up during a shot is priceless.

Especially if the drone is backing up in active track and your concentrating on the shot. The flight automity is amazing but keep in mind that you can trick it. Do not flyin clouds, fog, rain, or add gimbal protectors on the landing gear, as the sensors will see these things and mess with its ability to navigate, fly or land properly.

There is a lot to this drone. It is very advanced, and I give it a full recommendation to anyone who has done their research on it and decided this is what they want for their epic, cinematic shots.

I believe the Mavic 3 marks a new era for prosumer drones as a whole. The larger sensor size really does make a visible difference in the quality of my images and videos, and the tele camera (though not perfect) is a very welcome addition in my opinion.

My only issues with this drone so far is not having some features I was used to on my Phantom 4 Pro. Specifically, being able to set my point of interest using the GPS is a feature I miss a lot, and not having true waypoints is a bit of a bummer.

I also don’t love the fact that I can’t automate my flights using a 3rd party app like Drone Deploy. Another small gripe I have with this drone is its responsiveness when it comes to my custom buttons on the controller.

My custom buttons seem to lag when pressing them and executing the function. For example, I press the custom function button (which is paired to tilting the gimbal forward or directly downward), and maybe 3 seconds later the gimbal moves forward or downward.

Same behavior when I double press the custom button (set to switch between the main camera and tele camera). It takes just a bit too long for my liking. I very much so enjoy the 3 batteries the fly more bundle comes with, as well as the bag it comes with.

Everything fits perfectly in it, and there’s even a little more room for other things I like to keep with my drone like my part 107 license and SD card case Overall, great product, and I am very impressed.

After a good it of research among non-DJI drones, I chose the Parrot Anafi based on reviews and haven’t been disappointed so far. It’s already survived bumping into things from my inexperience and trying it out indoors on a rainy day.

Was very pleased with it outdoors, today, as well. I like the tutorials and information associated with the app as well as the online manual. While some whine about spending a few bucks for some additional capability with the app, it’s nickel-dime in the great scheme of life.

Why didn’t I purchase a DJI drone? It’s simple. DJI is based in a country with the worst environmental and human rights record on the planet, run by a regime that engages in slavery, torture, murder, genocide, and the ghastly practice of forced live organ harvesting from dissidents.

I purchased the Parrot Anafi Work sUAS from Amazon in March 2021. It has been great. Video is fantastic. I have an FAA certificate to fly sUAS commercially as well as a Commercial Pilot License for Rotorcraft-Helicopter: Instrument with over 1000 hours of military flight time in rotorcraft.

I have found the Anafi to be convenient for getting aerial video and images in a manner that is cheaper and easier than getting equivalent footage from manned aircraft. I noticed that there was a firmware update applied over the July 4th weekend.

To test out the reliability of the Flight Plan flight mode and to gain confidence, I created a very short flight plan. The flight plan called for a series of waypoints at 400′ AGL with the plan terminating at the last waypoint at a 10′ hover.

I do not know if it is related to the firmware update, but on approach to the last waypoint the aircraft inexplicably shut off and plummeted from the sky. It had over 90% battery and the flight had lasted less than 2 minutes.

Flight data that was recorded by the aircraft indicates that this occurred at 132′ AGL. I contacted Parrot, and to their credit they reviewed all of my data and made a determination that the incident should be covered under warranty.

This process was quick and within 4 business days. They provided an email with a reference number and the following instructions:”This’s an official confirmation from Parrot SA that you do approve for a warranty claim.

Kindly show this e-mail to the point of sale to claim your warranty through the shop not through Parrot. “The warranty provides a total replacement. I contacted Amazon. Amazon told me that since it is outside of the 30 day window for returns they would need to charge a 20% restock fee.

This is unacceptable. A 20% restock fee on an item that was over $1000. That is $200+ for a defect that the manufacturer states that they will cover. If this aircraft were out of warranty I would purchase a new hull and motors to attempt to rebuild this myself.

The $200 restock fee might not seem so bad, except when one has to wonder how many times this fee would have to be paid if the next sUAS proved to be defective as well. Why would there be a restock fee? Is this going to be put back into stock and resold?Warranty is effectively void if you purchase from Amazon.

The manufacturer accepts a warranty claim but says to contact the point of sale (Amazon). Amazon says to contact the manufacturer. All the parties are pointing their fingers at each other. This is an excerpt of Parrot’s response:Whether the point of sale assigns a restock fee or not depends on the seller’s policy.

But, yes some sellers do that. Parrot cannot control or cancel a policy of another company’s. I love these little drones. Fantastic camera that can point upwards, 310 grammes, so with an A2 pretty much flyable anywhere, rock solid in winds up to 20 mph (the 30 mph rating is a little optimistic, as it does have to work hard to stay put.

) Good flight time per battery. All I see in reviews are the DJI fanboys bleating about how this doesn’t have obstacle avoidance. It’s really simple people – keep it in sight and don’t crash in to things.

Y’know, like with an RC aeroplane. In lunatic mode it flies like a fighter plane. And no DJI zoning to worry about. Keep it legal everyone though, of course. And now you can pick them up for buttons.

Pros: First Drone. Easy for my experienced drone flying friend to fly, I am being extremely carefully while learning. Lots of space on our farm which helps greatly. Getting better, taking baby steps as I learn to use joy sticks and fly by watching the screen.

Built-in controller screen is very nice. Return to Home (RTM) is an awesome feature, especially for a novice. I have decades of experience with SLR cameras and I can confirm what others have said: This has a great camera.

Having f/2. 8 to f/11 gives plenty of range to adjust for photos. I highly recommend getting ND filters for video. Shutter speed for video should be twice frame rate and a frame rate of 30 fps and resulting 1/60 sec.

shutter speed is much too bright even when using f/11 and ISO 100. The included Styrofoam is okay for casual use, something better is needed for travel. Overall a great drone and camera system. Cons: Lack of experience might be the problem, but I felt as if I was Beta testing the drone and controller.

There have been too many unexplained messages, some were repeated and others never to be seen again. Two of two Intelligent Flight 5350mAh batteries that were included with an accessory bundle failed to work.

This seems to be a common problem with the Pro 4 Plus drone. Not good! Other thoughts: I purchased an ‘Open Box’ version expecting to get something like this ‘. for example, the box may be torn, there may be cosmetic scratches, etc)’ The drone I received was USED.

Period! The drone had been registered. Data indicated it was used for four days and the album contained 18 photos and one video. We determined everything with the drone and camera worked exactly as expected.

Still Beach should have indicated ‘Open Box’ might include slightly used/returned. I suggest getting at least two DJI Phantom 4 Series Intelligent Flight Battery High Capacity 5870 mAh(CP. PT. 000601) DO NOT get the older 5350mAH batteries to save $20.

Although the price was good, when I received the item and unpackaged it, I was disappointed. First off the Charger Port Cover on the Controller was torn off and laying in the bottom of the transport case.

Anyone who has ever owned this type of Controller (Phantom 4 Pro Plus, Inspire 1, etc) knows how a missing or torn off Charger Port Cover devalues the Controller. Next, I inspected the battery and found it to be some sort of off-brand unbranded Battery, NOT a DJI Battery plus the shell was cracked at the top.

Every DJI Drone Owner KNOWS DJI ONLY recommends it’s own brand of Battery for use in it’s drones. Finally, and it’s a small thing, but the Memory Card that was supposed to be in the Kit was missing and only the Memory Card Adapter was there.

I know these may seem like small complaints but when something is advertised as complete, inspected and working, I dont expect parts to be torn off, cracked and misrepresented or missing.

It came with a battery that was useless for the drone. I had to order one from someone else to try to get it working. It’s been a pain trying to get the controller to communicate with the drone. Hopefully I can get that done and get it flying tomorrow without having to call support again.

From what I have seen from other people it takes great pictures and is a good product for the money. I’ve heard some negatives about the customer support at DJI but they are sending me another battery after the hassle of sending the bad one back first.

Maybe a little quality control and testing would have prevented this? I know I would need some back up batteries once I get busy but I wanted to check the machine out first.
