20 Best Dress Neckline For Small Bust (2023 Updated)

This dress was shipped and delivered really quickly, which was great— however that’s where the “good” stops. I got the pink sky color, which looked more purple than pink in person but I didn’t hate it.

The dress however is so thin and is made from one thin sheet of fabric— I understand slip dresses are often thin, however this is made from polyester and not actual silk, surely some lining or attention to the hem could have been given — polyester is very affordable.

The stitches were also done super poorly. The sewing wasn’t consistent and there were snags in the fabric straight out of the packaging. The fabric doesn’t lay flat, and there are snags and bunches at the seams.

When I tried it on and showed my fiancé, to get his opinion, he said that the color looked good on me but the quality was quite poor. He said it was sewn like a cheap Halloween costume (and quality is NOT normally something he picks up on at all, so I knew this wasn’t good).

I was looking forward to wearing this dress for a wedding but now will definitely be returning it as it will just look too cheap and poor quality for that. This doesn’t look like a 98$ at all, sadly, but more like something that cost max $30.

This is super disappointing because I used to order from astr at Nordstrom and had good experiences. Unfortunately the signature Gaia dress doesn’t cut it. You could probably find the same thing on Shein for a quarter of the price.

Okay so first, the pros. This dress is beautiful. I ordered the sage and the color was so pretty and complimenting of my skin. I loved the straps and the crisscross detail on the back. I’ve always been kinda self conscious about my back shoulders and bust/frame, but the style of this dress really made me look great.

Now the cons. For $100, this dress isn’t that great quality. The material was nice, not see through, but the stitching was bad. There was so much thread sticking out where the slit on the dress starts and on the adjustable straps.

Where the slit is, it honestly looks like it can easily be ripped if your not too careful so that’s not great. Now as for the slit itself, I knew it’d be a little high, but not as high as it actually was on me.

It is definitely higher than shown on the model. I’m 5’7 and the slit started maybe 2 inches below from we’re my underwear sits. It just depends on what look you’re going for, but not sure if it’d be great for a modest fit.

Lastly, this did not fit great around my boobs. I wear a L but I sized up for an XL just so it’d fit my boobs because a large wouldn’t fit my chest according to the size chart. It fit loose everywhere else except there.

I was able to get my boobs in, but it was uncomfortable and I couldn’t place the dress right in a way that’d make it look normal. I wear a 36C so I’m confused as to why I couldn’t get it to fit there:( If you’re bigger chested, you can definitely try but I don’t think this dress will fit great around the bust.

Now, would I recommend this dress? If you’re like me, and like getting your money’s worth, I would not recommend this dress. It’s beautiful, but again, the quality isn’t that great and I don’t see it lasting very long.

And if you don’t mind spending $100 on a thin dress with some loose threads, then definitely give it a try. It just wasn’t for me, so I’ll be returning. Hopefully this review helped!.

I bought this dress twice. The first time I tried it on, a strap literally snapped off. They exchanged it fairly quickly which was great because my event was coming up! Wore this to the event and the strap literally broke off at the end of the night???? I’m confused because the dress wasn’t too tight and the straps were actually a bit loose on because I was paranoid at this point.

I’m 5’2 110lbs and wore an XS and it fit perfect, just a bit loose which I preferred. I wanted to love this but have never had something like this happen before. Hopefully they have more quality control in the future.

If you get this dress you may want to have it altered so the straps don’t break in the middle of your night. Disappointing.

Simple, chic dress with a slightly flirtatious neckline. Perfect length to keep the dress ‘classy. ’ I ordered an XL, as I normally do with DTP dresses to accommodate my upper half. The top part of the dress has boning which helps provide structure and support.

The skirt still fits nicely and lays over my body without being too snug. Great dress. I would definitely recommend it. The material, cut, silhouette makes this a timeless piece that you’ll be able to wear for years to come.

As others have stated, the material around the arms restrict movement a little. I was still able to maneuver without any issues. For reference, I am 5’7”, 38DD, 32 waist, 185lbs and the XL fit just fine (with a tiny bit of extra room in the skirt).

I am a true size 12/L in most other brands. In my experience with DTP dresses, the bottoms fit TTS. If you are a little bit wider/heavier from the waist up, consider sizing up 1 size and then altering/tailoring the skirt to your liking.

The dress is nice enough. I’m typically between a M and a L on Dress the Population. Some dresses I’m a solid M, other times I’d fit better in a L and then tailor it in (for reference, I’m 5’4 and weigh 150 pounds but I have a fair amount of muscle).

The M was probably just a bit too tight on me but its a super flattering shape that holds you in. It hugs your curves and gives you a nice silhouette. The problem is the color. I ordered Dark Magenta thinking it would look like the picture on the internet.

It doesn’t. Its a true, jewel toned purple. Not flattering color for me. So the stars I dinged are more for the fact that they wildly mis-represented the color. BTW they make this dress in a “poppy” color that looks like an orange.

Its not. Its red with just the slightest tinge of orange in it that you can only see if you hold it up against something that is fire engine red. In short : BEAUTIFUL dress but you need to like the true colors it comes in.

Even though I did return the Tiffany Dress, I am still giving a 5 star rating due to the customer service experience. I had initially ordered a XS, but when I received the dress it was a S. The size S dress was to big.

The tag on the outside of the dress indicated that it was a XS, but the sewn in tag was a S. I emailed the customer service department and a hassle free immediate exchange was made. Within several days the new dress, size XS arrived.

From the waist down the dress fit perfectly, but it was too tight at the top. It was extremely difficult for me to get it zipped up, and then try to breathe! It is a beautiful dress and the quality of the material was great.

I so much wanted this dress to fit. It is just not meant for my body type. For reference I am 5’2 1/2″ and weigh 109 pounds. If it would have fit, I would have needed to get it hemmed, but that would not have been a problem.

I do have more of an athletic build with a wide back. Thanks again to the customer service department for such an efficient experience!.

My partner & I were married in a small civil ceremony. The simplicity of this dress was perfect for our venue, ceremony, & dinner after. The dress was comfortable & photographs well. The v-neck is deep & was very revealing on me.

So, I opted to have a “modesty piece” added during alterations to reduce the amount of cleavage revealed & had cups added to avoiding wearing a bra with the dress. I also had the straps shortened. The waist & tea-length skirt were a perfect fit & required no alterations.

The skirt is fully lined & does have some tulle underneath to allow for a fuller look. I did find myself adjusting the right strap while taking photos. In hindsight, I probably could have secured it with double-sided tape or maybe had it shortened the smallest amount more.

Overall, I would recommend this dress. When I purchased this dress it was listed at $299. Now, several weeks later, it is listed at $349. I would absolutely buy this dress at the higher price point. David’s provided a good-quality tea-length dress that was ceremony ready within 5-weeks of the order date.

I’m rating this dress 4 stars because not all versions are the same, and I tried both the black (pass) and purple (fail). I love my short version of this dress, so I figured I’d love the longer version as well.

I do-but only the black. It fits the same as the short black one, as it should. It’s really cute and comfy. I will say that it’s not super bust-friendly, so I wear it with a lacy black bra that works just fine.

It’s a great dress overall. The purple not so much. The purple is lovely-but it doesn’t fit like the black one. I expected to wear it with a purple bra, but it’s just not as bust-friendly, and it’s bigger at the waist.

I expected them to fit the same because they absolutely should. It sucks when you can’t even rely on the same brand to fit the same in the same item, just a different color (actually usually black fits differently, if anything, because of the dye).

It was pretty annoying and disappointing, so it went back. The purple one I give 3 starts to for fitting differently than the black.

This dress is stunning and sexy, can’t wait to wear it this summer. I bought a small, I’m typically a 4 on top and 8 on the bottom. Dresses are normally large on me on the top. I’m sure a M would have also worked because straps are adjustable and it would have given me more coverage.

I can wear with slides or booties and a denim jacket.

Free people has always been my fav brand, but I can’t justify the price for 1 dress. I was lucky and caught this dress on sale for $50 and bought 2 (I purchased 2 others in early march on sale). I’m 34B 5’4 130lbs with a small asian frame which makes it hard for me to find flattering outfits but this dress is gorgeous.

I usually have to wear pasties but the top is thick enough to go without and it offers enough support so I feel secure when I wear it. I’m usually a size 4-6 depending on styles so I almost went with a size Medium but small fit me perfectly.

I think the top would look a little looser if I went up w size. I machine wash and hang dry mine with no fraying or shrinking issues. With flip flops it slightly drags on the floor for me so 5’5-6 might be the perfect height in flats for this dress.

I always keep an eye out for this dress, mini dress and the adella bralette sales bc the quality and style can’t be duped.

I’ve never spent this much money on a dress before. I decided to do this one thing for myself since I have maternity pictures coming up. With the amount of money spent on one dress you’d expect it to be absolutely perfect with no imperfections, there was some threads that seemed like they weren’t cut or that came loose.

I chose not to figure out which one in hopes that if I tugged on them it might damage the dress. I ordered a size Large since I’m 7 months pregnant and I very well could’ve gone with a medium, the dress fits super baggy on me and is a bit sheer.

I’m 5’3 and the dress was also super long on me (I expected it to be though). I had such high hopes for this dress and I wish I could’ve pulled it off like the ladies in the reviews. If it wasn’t for how long it would take to ship it back, get store credit and order a new one with the store credit then I’d buy a different one A pro is that it got here SUPER quickly, just a bummer that it personally didn’t work out for me.

I bought this dress for a wedding I’m in and was extremely disappointed. Material feels cheap and thin. Seams were coming undone before I even tried it on (see picture). Unfortunately I cannot return this dress but I do not ever plan on wearing it.

I found a better quality dress for a fraction of the price on Amazon. Highly recommend saving your money on this one.

Very disappointing- I ordered 2 dresses to try for my son’s wedding thinking that I could just send one back that didn’t work. The “Holly” dress was very thin, so I kept the other one. I just found out yesterday that I cannot get my money back – only a store credit.

If you’re buying a dress for a special occasion, you’re not likely to need a store credit- it’s useless for me so now I have to just eat that cost. I’m glad I didn’t order more dresses to try- I would have been out a lot more money.

Not a good way to run this type of business.

This dress is very beautiful in person, but it is quite different than pictured. I ordered an XL (usual size) and it was huge on me. I easily could have done a L, maybe even a M. The dress is also significantly longer than pictured.

I am 5’9 and the dress hit the floor for me. I would need to have several inches hemmed off in order to achieve this look as pictured.

I love this dress already and I’m very picky on clothes. I got the white and I sort of expected it to be a bit see through because most white clothes are and even though the material is pretty thick, it is ever just so I will be wearing white undergarments and am not worried.

I’m 5’8”, 34A cup chest, and about 140lbs. I bought the medium. I don’t like overly tight clothes. Because there is so much stretch, it fits snug but not too snug but I also could have worn a small but for me it would have been too tight especially in white.

I LOVE the length and how it’s adjustable which is another common problem. I have such long legs that I always end up wearing leggings. I won’t have to and will wear this to work because it can be made to be modest by keeping length long and adding a coverup.

However if I wanted I could easily turn it into a night out dress by shortening length and not having a coverup. A very versatile dress.

But overall its a nice dress, a bit pricey for its value and + $12 shipping

so pretty the perfect dress

I am 5’10” with a 34DD cup size and typically a size 8 or 10 in dresses. I ordered this (last minute as usual) for a bachelorette trip in Nashville and after reading the reviews, I was super nervous about being able to pull off the high slit because of my height.

Y’all. I’ve never gotten so many compliments or felt so confident. This dress is SO flattering. The slit did come up very high, but my booty managed to stay covered throughout an entire night of dancing.

The kind of dancing you do when you and a large group of other moms who never get out of the house go on a weekend trip and hear “My Neck, My Back” after a drink or 12 and then immediately break into the “Cotton Eye Joe” line dance???????????????? I didn’t want to wear a bra, so I ended up criss-crossing the straps in the back to help prevent the chest area from draping too low.

Worked like a charm. I felt classy and sexy simultaneously; definitely the perfect bachelorette dress. 10/10 recommend.

I was on the fence about this dress and I am so glad I decided to try it. The material is soft and comfortable with the right amount of stretch. The position of the waist and pleats make your waist look thinner and hide any belly/bum/hip lumps and bumps you may have or feel self conscious about.

It feels like the perfect pocket tee made into a fancy dress. I find it true to size. I’m a size 12 and ordered my usual large. The sleeves are a little more fitted than I would like , so hopefully that will be updated if the dress comes back next year.

This green is beautiful and is closer to a cool bluish green and not a warm yellow green.

Exceeds my expectations! I liked the picture and the color-I got the red one. In person, this dress is gorgeous and beautifully accentuates the figure with the fit and flare style. I went for a larger size because I am tall and didnʼt want it to be too short and it works due to the sweater material.

So the length is perfect and the larger size does not hide my figure. I was not aware of this Brand but I will surely seek it out and buy more of their beautiful dresses.

I was hoping for a small, but all that was left was the XS. I gave it a try since reviews mentioned how stretchy and forgiving the fabric was. Although everything fit and it was super cute and flattering, it was basically tunic length (as in would need to wear pants or opaque leggings to ensure modesty).

I debated over wearing it that way for quite some time before deciding that wasn’t the look I wanted and returned it. I love the color and pattern so much, but still can’t decide if I should go for a small or medium and hope that it’s long enough but still fits snugly up top.

(for reference I’m 5’4″, my weight fluctuates between 125-135 lbs, and I am busty – DD).

Amazing. I only have it in black and wear it everywhere. It’s a great sexy one for parties; so comfy for work as a server at a more casual place, for that I pair it with the smoothing short or leggings.

I can also layer it over other boody tops, long sleeve or 3/4 scoop one. Great uniform. It also looks good with the LYOlyte bra or without. I’m tall (6ft/182cm), top size 6US and 150lbs, with a B/C cup and in this dress and other boody tops I prefer a small so it’s tighter up top.

As always Boody Clothing is nice and soft and comfortable, however I bought this slip to go under dresses for winter for some extra warmth. Unfortunately, I was expecting the length to be about mid-thigh to wear under dresses that are cut off just above the knee but it goes down to mid-knee length which means it sticks out the bottom of all my dresses and looks silly.

I’m 158cm which I understand is sort of short but would have thought smaller sizes would be proportionally shorter. Or perhaps boody could do with a petite size. The image shows it to be mid-thigh length so I have to assume the model is quite tall.

I do not usually buy clothing that I can’t try on but I really wanted a breathable slip for under my dresses. I find clothing sizes vary so much. My body shape is REAL, with lumps and bumps, where i wish they werent.

I have a tummy, i have fat on my hips and butt. I decided to read as many reviews as possible. I am a size 12-14 and was originally going to order size M. But after my research I chose to order a size L.

The Slips arrived today, 1 in both colours. They are so very soft, so luxurious. And the size fitted me well. It skimmed over my body nicely, not clingy. The length is to just above my knee. I am very happy with the fit and length.

I just have to get over what the ticket size is after my weightloss. It would be super helpful if Boody had curvy models modelling their clothes as well as their size 10 models. This would make it easier for curvy woman to shop their brand with confidence.

Don’t get fooled by the drawstrings like I did, this dress was insanely uncomfortable and took me 10 mins to put on. There’s literally a string at the waist for what? Why is the elastic so stiff? The arms as well, stiff elastic that digs into your skin.

I’m a big gal and got an XXL, when I’m usually a L in dresses, because other dresses have stretch. Horrible and disappointed especially because the design is so pretty. You also can’t wear a bra because it shows, the V-neck is very deep.

I guess this brand only makes dresses for stick figures, outdated and overpriced for no reason.

I ordered the crew neck dress in melange blue in xtra small. I am normally a size 8 and this fitted me well – not too tight or too loose except the sleeves are a bit tighter than I would prefer around the shoulders.

It is very warm and I wear it with boots and leggings as a cover up after yoga or when slouching about the house. The melange navy is a perfect flattering colour for me – a bright navy which is sometimes hard to find.

I like the simple style and the ribbing round the hem so it clings to my thighs rather than hangs. I did order a small in the light grey – that colour did not suit me so I returned it – as far as I could tell the small is almost exactly the same size as an extra small.

I have not washed it yet. So far I am very happy with my purchase.

I was super excited to get this dress. It is super pretty and comes as pictured. The only thing was that the bottom of the dress is not flowy like it is on the model. I thought it would be more A-line fit, but it is more fitted.

I am 5’5 150 and got a Large. The hip area did not fit right. I would recommend for people who have more of a slender figure, but if you have a butt this dress is not for you.

So I like the dress but it came wrinkly so I had to hang it up or lay it out and while it’s cute and I love the pockets it’s super light so definitely for a warmer day! Also it needed my short jean jacket to kind of give it a line around the waist because oh it’s own jt made me look big and then when I added something simple it worked a lot better.

I got an XS and there was no way that the stretchy top was going to stay up. Even tried tucking it in to my bra top. I’m a 32B for reference. Ended up folding it down and wearing it as a skirt (still way loose on the waist btw).
