WHAT A KONEY SAVER!! Im a married woman with no children,but that doesn’t mean I don’t wanna save money, so being the penny pincher ive always been, during a total remodel of our bathroom we started having plumbing issues.

Now ladies let me put this out their first so be patient. Without thinking about it I just like usual decided to just let my “husband” take care if this. Now fast forward 1 snake many bottles of pluming stuff pipes being dug up and now labor being hired in, i decided to take another path.

So really I don’t know what put it in my mind but I came straight to this website looked up augers and seen most of the options were only 25 ft, now that’s fine for most jobs and to honest it would have probably been an easy purchase for me at least 2 and a half weeks ago.

so here I am with not one ounce of pluming experience heck I’ve never even checked my own oil, but here’s the dirty little secret men don’t wanna except is us women who have your babies cook your meals clean your clothes and work full time outside the home, most of us do that because we love the blessings that come with the husband the childrenand the home so we do this to help lift your burdens and we do it quietly because women dt need a atta boy Everytime we use our common sense.

So now here I am with all these choices and then it hits me, im not gonna go through this again so 50 feet it is. And im just gonna point out this as well not only did I purchased this for my home but while I was making this very simple decision I also thought of our outside family now they won’t have to worry about it because I made this a all around family purchase.

so everyone wins well except the fellas in this situation sorry guys women do think of more than just blow drying their hair and pillow fights.

The snake was able to work so well on a very clogged sink. I emptied as much water from the sink as I could into a bucket. I then opened the trap underneath the sink. This snake was connected to an 18v cordless drilling machine.

The drill fed the coil in inch by inch, until it reached a snag. It could no longer go further. The coils aren’t labeled in feet, so I don’t know how far. However, I would estimate 15-20 feet. It was then retracted and everything was put back together.

The sink ran perfectly! I spent about 45 minutes and $50 fixing my sink.

This 50′ snake got to a gnarly hair clog that my old 25′ manual-feed snake couldn’t get to so it earned it’s keep saving me a plumber’s bill. So five stars for “value for money”. Other than the snake itself it is made of plastic so I have to deduct a star for ‘durabily’.

It didn’t break on me but I expect that if I dropped it some bit would break. It’s understandable that it’s made of plastic though for all sorts of reasons. The auto-feed mechanism is great. A disadvantage though is that there is no way to lock the snake to the barrel and just turn it.

The pistol grip handle is designed such that you pretty much have to pull the feed lever to get ahold of it and if you do manage to hold onto the thing while NOT pulling the lever the snake will tend to be pushed back into the body of the device.

In my case I was able to get it to work while holding the feed lever. It would be nice if there was some indicator of how much snake had been pushed. But such a feature would undoutedly complicate the design and up the price so oh well.

Awesome product. It’s so easy to do, I’m going to schedule the first Saturday of each month as “Unclog Drains Day”. I figure I have 8 drains in the house that I can use this on. If I spend 5 minutes on each drain, which is easily double the amount of time it has taken me so far, I could do all the drains in less than an hour.

So, here’s my thought. The Turbo Snake Set is SOOOOO easy to use, why wait until the drains are clogged to use it? Why not use it in a preventative fashion and run it down each drain BEFORE they are clogged? My wife and I are of the age where there is a lot of hair going down the drain each time we take a shower of comb our hair at the bathroom sink.

Running the sake down the drain on a monthly basis will prevent any of the hair from building up to the point where the drain could become clogged. I could have saved myself about $80 last time I had a clogged drain and had to call the plumber.

I’m certain that, had I had the Turbo Snake Set then, I easily could have unclogged the drain myself. I know there are a lot of “As Seen On TV” products out there today that make lots of claims and then never live up to them but the Turbo Snake Set lives up to it’s claims!!!!!.

The Turbo Snake is a stiff, yet flexible, wiry apparatus, covered in soft plastic. It has stiff bristles on one end that reminds me of a mascara brush. This is the end that goes down the drain and then you are supposed to spin/twist the snake around to gather the hair clog.

Now, I just used this product for the first time today, as my tub/shower drain was running slow. I have one of those drain plugs that you pull up or push down the stopper. So, I tried to thread the snake down the side of the stopper into the drain, but it only made it a couple inches.

There was a lot of hair in the drain, so I am not sure if that is what prevented the snake from going down further or if the stopper was in the way or what not. The good news is that the brush grabbed onto the hair and I was able to pull it out.

I had to repeat this several times, especially since the hair seemed to also be wound around the drain plug. I found it difficult to completely remove the hair off the brush on the snake and I wondered if that would make the product not as effective over time.

The snake is also a little tricky to hang on to when twisting. Overall, it seemed effective at removing the hair, but with more work than I expected.

This product is good to keep your drains in check. Glad I purchased it. I was able to pull out a bunch of stuff out of my bathroom sink drain however it didnt clear the drain. I also bought extra strength drain O which did not work.

I ended up buying a snake and that went really deep into the drain and with three tries it finally cleared. No need to call a Plummer or the property manager ever again!.

I like MOST of what I see in the PowerClear Drain Cleaning Machine, but a bit of history first. As far as I’m concerned, the ONLY tools for anything involving pie are Ridgid. I can’t even remember the first time I used Ridgid tools.

My dad was a Refrigeration Pipefitter and, as a youngster, I used his tools from time to time. I started my Pipefitter apprenticeship in Feb. , 1970. As a fitter myself, I used Ridgid tools pretty much constantly.

I was forced to leave the trade in 1977, after a non-job related injury. However, I di d get back into the trade doing Backflow installation, inspection and repair for a couple of years, until the old injury forced me back out of it.

I still have several great RIdgid pipe wrenches, tubing cutters, and other tools, My oldest son (a contractor who worked with me in the Backflow business as a young teenager) now has my Ridgid Threading, Cutting and Reaming tools, along with all of my pipe wrenches over 18 in.

, and several others As a homeowner, I’ve used drain cleaning machines MANY times over the past 50 years, for my own home (all no-hub cast iron drains) as well as others. I own a very well-used, older Ridgid Drum Machine with a 3/8 in.

x 75 ft. cable and different heads. Prior to finding that machine (used), I borrowed from others, or rented them. I often wish it was light enough to get up on the roof (to go through the vents) and equipped with a power feed, which would make it much easier for me to use with my one “good” arm.

Nevertheless, it has served me very well. Now, to the PowerClear. The bathrooms in our house a back-to-back, so the sink drains are tied go through a cross. That cast iron cross is a constant source of drain clogs.

I used a hand crank drain cleaner for many years but I had to get my wife to crank it while I fed it. I’ve used a K-30 Drain Machine for several years, but removing the trap and feeding the cable into that cross was always a challenging operation, even with the help of my wife.

A few years ago, I replaced the cable with a 25 ft. drop-head cable (received free from another manufacturer). That cable did not really attach correctly in the drum, and sometimes came loose, especially if I let it feed all the way to, or near, the end, since I could never see how much cable was left.

I believe that there are more than a few of us who would really appreciate the availability of the PowerClear with a drop-head cable.

I’ve been using the K-40 machine for years. I decided to give this guy a try, and I was very impressed. As long as you don’t act like a meat head with the cable, and you pay attention to what you’re doing (like you should with the K-40), this is a great go to if you’re starting out, or don’t have the cash to drop on the K-40.

I have used mine many times already, and I am very, very happy with this. I have been in this business for 25 years, and I can vouch for the great operation and durability of this ‘cheaper’ version of the K-40.

I love mine, that’s all I can say. If you’re going to trash a cable because you are either too impatient, or inexperienced, grab this machine first lol. Get good, then get fast.

We bought this to clear out a 1. 25” Schedule 40 PVC pipe that is outdoors to redirect water runoff into French drain. It worked GREAT! Read a lot of reviews about going slow and back and forth to break through dirt/debris/grass/roots.

Had to pull it out once to pull out clump of roots. What was perfect about it was not to have to hold a heavy auger and hands were free to control the snake by using knee-foot peddle. The one thing that was frustrating was that the snake kept getting stuck inside so it had to be taken apart a few times to rewind the snake.

Fairly certain it will work fine for indoor drains too and seems durable. If the snake does break there are replacement snakes available so you don’t have to buy a whole new auger.

Short story I hope. We had a backed up sewer line back in September and we called in the sewage company to come clean it out. A few hundred bucks later our sewage was cleaned out with a 90 day guarantee.

A little over a month later our sewer backed up again so we called the sewage company. They assured us that they would get to us as soon as possible. Luckily I ordered the K-400 drum machine the night that it backed up from Home Depot and then I called the sewage company.

The drum machine arrived 2 days later and still no further response from the sewage company to date. As soon as I received the drum machine I read the manual and put it together. Less than a half hour later my sewage was cleaned out and no problems since.

This machine worked through that drain very easily with no problems. And an extra plus is that I never have to deal with that sewage company ever again.

Since I hate calling a plumber for something I can do around the house, I purchased the K-400. Should I call plumbers, it pays for itself after two uses! Prior to the purchase (and the last straw for me), I rented a drum machine from my local rental place.

It was pretty beaten up, but it worked. though only $50+ it had no wheels, so was an absolute nightmare to lug around. Decided then that my back was worth more to me than yearly attempts to use the rental machine.

The K-400 is well made. with lots of options for replacement parts and accessories. Will last longer than me! The main reason for use is cleaning out a kitchen line. but obviously, many other drains await.

I had a main sewer clog and it was backing into the house. I tried a few options like manual drain snakes but they weren’t strong enough. I decided to spend the money and get the rigid k-400 at my local home Depot.

I used the included attachment and wow it snaked it’s way down and ripped through the clog in seconds. I couldn’t believe the power. I have used it 2 times already and it’s paid for itself. Also, it was missing the axel to the wheels.

I was about to purchase it for $30 but I decided to send rigid an email. Customer service contacts me 15 minutes later and asked for my address to send out the part for free. Few days later I got the part.

I have got to say I am impressed. I paid $3. 12 for 2 Mr Rooter drain snake and was blown away. You don’t have to take your stopper out of the sink just go in the hole pull it out and keep going about to you have hit all 4 sides of the stopper and this is what I got.

My husband does not have much hair and is balding so I am not freaked out by this hair. He washes his hair every morning to go to work. If you don’t have one of these in your house you need to go get you one from Walmart.

Received it today. Hoping they would help unclog my slow draining bathroom sink. When reading the “one-star” reviews, it is apparent that some of those people are not familiar with how this product works. I have used several drain snakes over the years, and none was ever attached at the end to the housing, There’s no need to be attached.

I’m pleased with this one that has a bulb to warn you that you’ve reached the end. Also, the quick-release latch is a dream–much better than a screw Yes, it’s a manual feed. This is not a large sewer drain snake with a motor, this is an indoor snake.

Keep the housing about 12 inches away from the hole. You can manually push the cord back into the plastic housing after you’re finished. Metal housing would be a rusty nightmare, so plastic is best. HOW TO USE: AFTER you have watched YouTube videos: –Feed the cord in slowly, in 9-inch intervals.

–After every feed, pull and push it back and forth about 6 inches. This gives you a “feel” for what’s going on at the head. –When you can’t feed it in any more, when the cord stops, that’s where your finesse comes into play.

It has probably hit a lip or a bend in the pipe. –Allow a small distance, only about 6 inches, between the housing and the hole, and begin turning the crank. This will cause tension down the line, and eventually force the head to change position in order to get past the lip.

–The cord will not bind inside the pipe UNLESS YOU FORCE IT; keep the housing close to the pipe so it does not bind near your hands. –If you still cannot advance, then pull the snake out and see what’s on the head.

–When pulling it back out, use paper towels to wipe off the cord before it goes back into the housing. I did not try it with a drill, and don’t think I will; I can see how a drill, when not used with caution, could cause the housing to heat up and shear off.

As others have said- disassemble and put a zip tie (or something else) in the acble “bulge” so that the cable does not accidently come out (easy job). When taking out of the drain I let the cable go into a bucket and then rinsed it off before pushing it back into the unit.

We used the whole 25 feet with no problem. We have not tried using a drill, so far cranking has been enough. Note- small end lets you start in narrow drain but may not be thorough cleaning a larger pipe.

First time reviewer here, just thought I would share. This was auger is a life saver. I am a 35 year old female who purchased this for a clogged bath tub. It worked like a dream. Is easy to use with some common sense.

Hooks nicely to a drill to get it down a number of feet. My clog was about twenty feet out and was released in about 5 minutes. I will say you need to go slow. It is a lot of stopping and starting. Make sure the lock is engaged when using the drill.

It does appear it will just keep going until it is completely out of the house so look for the coil to get slightly fatter to know you are getting close to the length limit. Save yourself some money on a plumber and buy one!.

I’m a senior DIY person with a bad back. A few people said the unit is a little on the heavy side. They were right. The weight made it a little cumbersome to use and I had to set up a chair over the tub drain so I could support it more easily with my arms resting on my knees.

The auto feed works well, but I found it easier to hand-feed the snake. I used the auto feed as directed, but before I could engage the chuck to lock the snake, about half of what I auto fed slid back into the drum.

When I pulled the snake out manually, it worked better. I also had trouble pulling the chuck back and locking the snake in place – perhaps the chuck on my specific unit needs adjustment to lock more easily? It took about an hour to finally get everything to work right.

Regardless, the snake did the job and saved me an $80 plumber’s bill. Since the drain I bought it for clogs at least twice a hear, the machine should pay for itself within two years. Basically, I’m pleased with the unit, though had I known how the auto feed and chuck lock was a little klutsy, I would have bought the less expensive manual feed unit.

The unit is well made, and I would recommend to DIY people.

Great tool. Front black handle slides back and forth too easily. When it slides back it pushes a set of pincers out and locks down the cable. It is difficult to hold the drill while keeping the black handle from sliding back.

I finally removed the black pincers.

When I worked in the plumbing shop at a hospital this drain machine was the machine we used constantly. We had 2 of them. One with a 1/4 cable and the other with a 5/16 inch cable. We had ours equipped with the drop head cables.

The unit is a bit heavy when your crouched under a sink in awkward positions which is why you need the auto feed. I wanted one for my home use. I thought about the newer lighter cordless ones like the Milwaukee but I didnt need to worry about having a charged battery on the spur of the moment.

I probably wont use it too often at home but when I need it I have it. Like I said the unit is a bit heavy when your in awkward positions but it was always our go to machine when we had sink stoppages.

I purchased this drain snake to do light drain cleaning around the house. It worked well for a while but the cable kinked recently and the tool does not function anymore. I called to inquire about the warranty and was told the warranty does not cover “normal wear and tear”.

The associate told me the cables wear out after a while but it is not covered under the lifetime warranty. No big deal for $50 bucks but it does not instill confidence regarding longevity of Ridgid hand tools nor in the support of their so-called lifetime warranty.

I’d still recommend this product just with some reservation about the warranty. I am off to look at some different options at the local home improvement store now.

I’m in the trades and know tools. The Ridgid Drain Cleaning tool is high quality. It functioned perfectly on my shower drain. It is quite heavy, so use a cordless drill if you have one. I wouldn’t recommend trying to run it though an accessible P-trap under a sink.

For that, simply disassemble the P-trap and clean it manually. While the P-trap is removed, run this tool into the actual house plumbing. Tip: Pull out the amount of cable you think you’ll need and mark it with a shot of white spray paint.

That way you won’t go deeper than necessary, which you don’t want to do.

I have a drain pipe under my cement floor that gets clogged up every now and then. Sometimes I use a plunger on my sink drain to help free it up but it never clears it completely. I’ve also used pure lye drain opener but got the same results as using a plunger.

I started doing research online for drain augers and came across the Ridgid PowerSpin +. I also came across other dealer brand drain augers but I have a few tools made by Ridgid and not only do they perform well, they hold up well too.

I was especially interested in being able to attach it to my Ridgid battery operated drill if I chose to rather than use the hand crank. Boy was I surprised at just how well this cleared my drain pipe out! My first day I used it with the hand crank, not knowing how it worked or performed and I was nervous about kinking the cable if I did use the drill.

I put the cable 4′ into the floor pipe and pulled it back out to find black gunk on the end of the cable. I worked the cable back and forth with my hand several times to make sure it was clear and then retracted the cable back until I saw the black gunk on the last 2′ of the cable.

I pulled the rest of the cable out and cleaned it off with Dawn dish soap after filling the sink with water for the first drain test. The cable cleaned up nicely. Then, with a sink fill of water, I pulled the plug and noticed it did drain a bit faster.

I decided to add paint marks on the cable at 5′ and a different color at 10′. The next day, I inserted the cable and this time I connected the PowerSin auger to my drill and “turned it on”. I put at least 12 feet of cable into my pipe, noticed a bit of slowdown at around 8 feet and released the trigger so the cable would just spin at that location for a couple of minutes.

I then continued on for another 4′ or so and pulled it out. This time while I was spinning the cable into the pipe, I added some hot water a couple of times to help flush out any gunk that might have come loose.

I filled my sink up again and pulled the plug to see if it was better. Wow. it was much better. The sink drains like it should. FAST! This Ridgid drain auger was a great investment and I’m glad I purchased it.

You’ll be glad you bought it to when and if you do purchase one.

It worked like a charm. However, I needed a second person to keep the coil straight. It twist up in a hurry. Next time, I’ll buy the model with the coil housed inside the machine.

I was pleasantly surprised by the product. I watched a lot of YouTube videos to learn as much as possible about how to use the Auger in the most efficient manner. A manual auger I purchased recently was unable to withstand any resistance or navigate through turns in the pipe.

The torque required risks kinking it, rendering it useless. The drill bit feature was great to help guide the snake to the lowest setting. The trick was to use the right amount counter pressure and patience.

Although the clog was not too severe, it was approximately 15 feet deep. This auger was great for minor clogs like hair in the tub or bathroom sink.

I used this drain snake to clear a clogged standpipe. After purchasing a new washing machine water kept overflowing from the standpipe. For days I tried to remove the clog naturally but gave up and purchased this snake.

This drain snake worked like a charm. My standpipe is about three ft tall from the floor so I needed a snake with enough reach to make it to the clog and beyond. This drain had more than enough reach.

I fed the long thread down the standpipe turned and turned some more fed the line down further and was able to retrieve the clumps that clogged the drain. I had a tough clog and had to do this several times.

As I brought the snake out of the drain I was so thankful that I had on the gloves that came with it because what came out was disgusting. This product saved me money and put my mind at ease. No more overflows or water on my floor.

I should start with a disclaimer: Augers are typically used by professionals, not because of their complexity or effectiveness, but because they can cause real damage to your pipes. For instance, I live in an old Brooklyn apartment built in who knows when, the kitchen drain pipe already eroded away naturally and had to be replaced, this tool sticks METAL down your pipes, so there is a definite possibility you can crack or break your pipes.

But, if you’re as stubborn as I am and won’t head even your own good advice, read on!The wife moved in a few years ago, so in order to deal with the newfangled long hair down the drain problem, I attempted a few solutions.

One being a drain catch, which worked well until we stopped using it (who wants to throw THAT away every two months?). Another was Draino, but I’m not a huge fan of pouring chemicals down the waterways, and I’d been warned that it’s basically a hazard should the pipe have serious issues.

So I kicked the can down the road. Late last week, the tiny Brooklyn shower-stall started draining very slow. The water backed up to just under the three-inch lip, so I looked for a cheap snake. I saw some promising new tech with microfibers or nanofibers or some sort of old-timey pipe cleaner my dad used to use when he smoked tobacco.

While scrolling, this product popped up and I figured, hey why not waste $15 when I was planning on wasting only $5?It arrived about 20 minutes ago. Instructions were on the back of the label, a little overly-simplified so basically ignored.

I unscrewed the screw, yanked out the metal wire thingy and stuck it down the shower drain, remembering to be gentle on my ancient pipes. At first pass I got a tiny feather of hair at the tip of the metal.

It literally looked like someone had dropped a sock down the drain. So, as disgusting as that might be, I am extraordinarily happy to have purchased this, may I never have to use it again. For cleanup, I picked the bulk up in a plastic bag.

I used my pug’s doggy bags to pull apart the hairs still attached to the auger, and eventually just used a knife to cut the strands that had wrapped themselves around the metal. Rinsed everything off, and was done.

All together, the job took about 25 minutes: a minute to unwrap and disregard the instructions, 4 minutes to make two attempts at fishing down my drain, a minute to call the wife in to show off my catch, 8 minutes to clean, and 11 minutes to write a raving review of this amazing product.

Ok ladies and men, if you have hair and are clogging the shower drain like me please give this a try. I was using a bottle of draino every 3 months when i clogged the shower drain. A friend begged me to stop because i was killing the environment.

so after a few hundred bucks down the drain (literally) a friend suggested this little drain snake. I tried it and will never buy chemicals again!!! I bought my little gadget for under 5 bucks and so far ive used it 3 times.

They are ment to be one time uses but mine still looks brand new so imma keep using it. WARNING!! Please get some gloves or something to hold this little piece of plastic with because the little “teeth” will hurt your hands.

Our sinks have always drained slow, I just assumed that’s how it is supposed to be. My husband is away and I got sick of seeing that the drains are all so slow so I went to see what there was at Walmart- plungers didn’t work and Draino didn’t do much.

I saw the inexpensive cheap and simple too and thought, “what the heck, if it works it works, I can get 3 for the price of a Starbucks coffee. ” I went home and started with my teenage daughter’s tub.

Let me tell you, this was super easy and we got so much hair that we were beginning to wonder how long it had been in there. It is not for the weak stomach folk, it was slimy from conditioner, shampoo and I hate to say it, but it reeked of mold.

One at a time we did the same with the bathroom sinks, GAG!! But the amazing thing is, IT WORKED!!! No more slow draining, not even a little! Honestly, it became a mission to see how much gunk and hair we could pull out, it was much more than we expected, but glad it’s flowing now and this Zip it is really cheap and super easy!.

Simple item that worked amazingly well on all 4 bathroom sinks, as well as the bathtub/shower drain (and I have 2 teen daughters with long hair!). So much safer for the environment than Drano and better for relieving pressure on pipes than using baking soda and vinegar to try to force the clogs along.

I will say that you will want lots of paper towels, because the hair you pull out of the drains will be coated in disgusting gunk. Have the waste basket nearby, and carefully pick at the hair on the Zip-it, as the teeth are sharp points of plastic.

(I didn’t cut myself, but I can see how a less careful person might. ).

Love this!!! Saved us big!! 25 ft auger not enough for our basement drain, by washing machine drain tub. Got this one, and it reached deep. Manual, challenging, but with 2nd use, learned how to churn up the thick deep down gunk.

Use with hit water and dishing washing degreaser.

Well designed for pipes and long enough for going in deep for tough clogs. Manual hand crank good for being careful in old pipes.

I have a 1/2 inch power drill I put the auger cable into and slowly ease it into my drain pipe to remove small roots. works GREAT if you go slow and stop if you get bogged down and reverse the drill periodically.

to clean roots off the auger spring. This may not work for everyone but works for me.

I purchased this cordless drain snake to replace my Ryobi 4100 that had a cable that kinked inside the drum, and the design prohibits replacing it. It was inexpensive; good for the occasional user. Since I manage apartment buildings, I decided to try a somewhat heavier duty unit, hence the Milwaukee M12.

I’ve cleared two tub drains and a roof drain pipe so far and it works well. It isn’t an autofeed unit (Milwaukee sells one for $500), but I extend the snake into the pipe with some slack, push the locking cone, and spin the drum – the cable feeds itself easily down the drain.

The cable feels very sturdy – much sturdier than my Ryobi model – comparable to my other Ridgid augers. Being lightweight, I’m able to bring it up ladders to snake out gutter drains and transport it easily when walking up four floors carrying it and other plumbing tools, rags, etc.

I purchased some extra M12 batteries so that I’m not left with a cable down the pipe if I run out of juice. All in all, I think this was a good purchase for what feels like a professional quality piece of equipment.

For the most part it is a very useful tool, biggest downfall though is that on the 1/4in – 25 ft cable it has a tendency to lose the drop head even before it comes into contact with any clog and sometimes not even a foot into the pipe it will disconnect.

Sometimes the head could be retrieved but on other occasions I wasn’t so lucky to get it. Buying replacement cables can be tiring and costly but I have yet to find a way to just replace the drop head as it seems that part is not sold seperately.

This tool would get a 5-star rating if that little issue could be corrected.

I work in commercial service plumbing, and I love using this drain snake on smaller drains, or drains/cleanouts that may be in a spot that’s awkward for my larger sectional machine. so far the 25 foot cable has been long enough to hit and clear a majority of the pipe I’ve put it through.

My only mild complaint is that the cable itself isn’t attached to the drum, but once you get within a few feet of hitting the end of the cable, the cable does have a warning bulge in. Would be perfect though if it had a way to lock it inside of the drum.

I bought this so I could clear my sewer instead of hiring out the job. It wasn’t powerful enough or large enough and I had to call Roto-Rooter anyway. After reading reviews I thought it could do it but it never had a chance.

I own several M12 tools and love them all and never needed the extra power of the M18 system and certainly didn’t want to spend the money on it. But a sewer that needs clearing every 6 months seemed like a reason to buy in.

However, I am now stuck with a tool and an entire battery system that I can’t use or afford. (Since I still have to call Roto-Rooter at $270 per visit). It is well made in typical Milwaukee fashion and only used 25% of the 2.

5ah battery during two hours of struggling unsuccessfully to clear the sewer. It is simply too small and under-powered for the job. I’m sure it would work very well on smaller pipes in the home if the auger can get through a p-trap smoothly.

I guess I can try to return it to Home Depot but being a sewer tool that has been used once I doubt it will be possible.

First off want to say, I own over 35 Milwaukee tools and over 60 batteries so I certainly love their products but I have Owned this machine for about a year now. I do like it and it certainly is very helpful to have a snake that you don’t need a cord for.

I like the auto feed feature and the only reason I bought this, but unfortunately my issue comes with the auto feed feature. It is very finicky in getting the collar to lock in exactly correct to allow the auto feed to work.

More often than not I have to disengage and re-engage three or four times until it locks. Sometimes it actually takes two hands to push and twist it properly. And then even with it locked several times it will come undone without me knowing and I’ll be sitting there spitting the drum and the cable’s not advancing without me knowing about it.

A few issues with my purchase, the battery that came with the Drain Snake was not charging properly so I had to find a repair shop to get this verified etc. At this purchase price I would have appreciated the battery just swapped out by the vendor but this was not an option.

As for the drain snake the reverse is weaker than I expected it was able to work through the blockage going forward but for reversing I had to continually lock the cable pull back and release and reverse.

This gets messy. Another tip while it’s “hands off”, when you store it in the container it will drip out all the liquid and trust me you want to clean this up after a day of use otherwise, if you leave it for a week/month you will have storage box with a stench that will make a skunk smell like perfume.

Overall not bad, but not perfect either.

I purchased this to snake out our low flow toilet. The head looks like the short toilet snakes, so I thought I could get it through the toilet and out into the sewer line and clean out the sludge that seems to have accumulated on the walls of the line which slows the flush.

I know it should not be used this way since it can discolor the porcelain bowI, but I was using some lengths of garden hose to protect the porcelain, like the short snake is designed. It would not feed into the toilet.

No matter how I put my hands down in and tried to guide it, I could not get the head in more than a few inches. I think it seems well-made and will keep it with my tools for other projects, but It didn’t work as I had hoped.

It took me and a friend about 30 minutes to unclog a drain. The clog was about 35ft and it had no troubles getting through. If you can’t afford the electric powered auger and your nto dealing with really bad roots I highly recommend this product.

Cable is strong and quite capable of doing the job, however the black handle Metal holder is basically worthless because the handles are not fixed to the metal and allows it to slip. The only solution is to take the handles off and use the twisted Bar.

This was a perfect tool to remove hair from my bathroom sink without chemicals! It’s a constant battle to keep my bathroom sink flowing due to hair, and I didn’t want to use chemicals again. I happened to see this at wal-mart.

It was very easy to use and worked perfectly! It says you can clean it and save it for future use but I found it hard to clean because the fibers hold the hair and gunk so well, which is a good thing for unstopping the clog.

For the low price (cheaper than chemicals) I will buy another one the next time I get a bathroom sink clog.

This removed gobs and gobs of long hair out of the drain. We removed the plug in the tub prior to fishing for hair. At one point we cut the hair off the drain weasel in hopes we could use it again, as we were sure there was still hair in the drain, and it worked to cut the hair off and then reuse.

I am on here to order more! It worked absolutely wonderful! They are a one time use item, but well worth the cost!.

This is a great tool. It’s lightweight compared to its counterpart and every bit as effective. It works flawlessly and is compact enough for easy storage.plus, it’s Milwaukee.

Our toilet was clogged for a week, we tried all the green goblin remedies and considered bringing a plumber in. Thought we’d try this first and it worked to clear the clog in minutes. Highly recommended and will save you on plumber costs!.

I ordered this Toilet Auger tool as an added capability to my tool collection. I have not used it yet, as the time has not come to use it. When the need arises (clogged Toilet), there would be a ready available tool to help.

Great tool! Only one problem I have. The black front handle slides back and forth too easily. When it slides back toward the drill, it locks the cable with some pincers. It is difficult to hold the drill while also pushing the black handle forward to keep it from sliding back and engaging the pincers.

Maybe I’m missing something and some one can set me straight. In the mean time, I took apart the handle and removed the pincers.

As was at the end of my rope trying to clear a clog in the septic line of a travel-trailer. Worn out by cranking on hand-held drain augers, I was glad that there was an more affordable alternative to powered drain augers.

What is so useful about this tool is that you can retract the cable and the clog simply by choosing to retract while continuing to spin the auger cable in the direction which ensures that the clog (in my case strips of flannel) were pulled out of the piping.

My favorite “snake”. I had to write this review right away. So great was this product. It worked in a matter of minutes! A baby wipe went down the drain and blocked the bathroom sink. The water would not go down.

I used a plunger. Water just came shooting out of the hole at the front of the sink. I poured a bit of bleach (not thinking) because I thought that would disintegrate the wipe. Left it for a day. No such luck and then I couldn’t use drain cleaner because of the bleach.

(Silly me. ) My husband, who is not handy, said it looks like we’re going to have to call a plumber. No way! I told him I could unscrew the sink pipe and let the water fall into a bucket. The wipe was probably caught in the sink trap (the curved elbow).

We both laughed. I’m disabled and we both knew I wouldn’t be able to get up from the floor. Then I saw this little wonder gadget while looking for a snake that would have cost about 8x more. I decided to try it because the snake I wanted wasn’t in stock.

I fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the night, took my nightgown off because I didn’t want any bleach to splash and OMG at first I didn’t think it was going to be long enough or work and then all of a sudden the baby wipe appeared.

Less than 2 minutes from unwrapping the packaging and the drain was cleared! The drain is running PERFECTLY. AlI that was necessary to clean my little drain snake, was put it in some bleach water for 10 minutes to kill the germs, hang it up to dry and put it away to use again.

The bleaching took longer than the time to clear the drain. Two came in the package. If it’s a bathroom sink that needs clearing – don’t hesitate to buy. Not sure about a kitchen sink. It would probably grab everything in a tub, too.

Whoever invented this deserves a prize. Best $2. 94 I’ve spent in a long time. Wait until my husband sees the sink in the morning. You guys stay safe out there. Remember complaisance about COVID-19 = carelessness = illness and perhaps hospitalization ($$$$$$) or death.

Plus the after effects can be permanent damage to your kidneys, lungs and/or heart. It’s not worth the risk.

OMG!!!! LOVE this little thing. My bathroom sink has been draining really slow for a while now. was placing a walmart grocery order and happened to come across this and thought for the price even if it doesn’t work i am not out that much money.

Boy was i surprised and amazed. I couldn’t believe all the hair and gunk that came out of my drain. And now everything is flowing and draining as it should be. Easy to use and works like a charm. so if you have a drain that is draining slow give this guy a go before calling in the plumber.

Because you are paying pennies compared to a plumber if it works and if it doesn’t your haven’t really lost that much.

Love this product! Moved into a senior condo residence and immediately had trouble with the 2nd bathroom sink which I really never used. So I dumped several bottles of vinegar and boxes of baking soda to correct the problem but to no avail.

🙁 The problem persisted. I ordered this 2 snake item from Walmart and used it immediately ( x2). The gunk was disgusting but I wiped down the snake, sanitized it, and put it under the sink, such a relief! Oh, and did I mention it was less than 3 dollars.

I also ordered a small sink plunger to have on hand, Ordering this online saved me time, energy, gas, a plumbing bill, and anxiety. I require a walker to get around so it also eliminated a risk factor of injury.

Kudos to Walmart and their timely delivery service! I will remain a loyal custmer!.

I have owned this unit for about 3 months now, and have used it quite a bit in mostly residential settings. Some good things about it: – It can run for a very long time on the included 2. 0 AH battery.

– The locking feed system is a great feature of this machine as it gives the user a great deal of control when feeding or retracting the cable. – The included cable does not kink easily, even when leveraging the machine far away from the entrance to the work area with a great deal of slack in the line.

Like the title says, not without its issues though. Some of these include: – The cable kinks very easily within the unit, requiring disassembly to fix. – The twisting lock mechanism at the front of the machine is very flimsy, and becomes stuck very easily, especially when it gets dirty.

– The included cable is not big enough for 3″ lines, even though the advertising material implies this unit is capable of handling 3″ lines out of the box. For that, you will need to upgrade to the 3/8″ cable.

Additionally, the included cable does not have a coupling end; just a simple fixed bulb. You will need to invest almost another $200 to get a coupling-end 3/8″ cable and different attachments. Very disappointing, considering this machine is already several hundred dollars.

All in all, I do recommend this machine to those who do residential drain cleaning, and don’t want to have to wrestle with larger drum machines for every single call. This thing does its job and does it well.

It’s not as complete of a system as one might like, especially considering the cost, but keep in mind it is still a quality Milwaukee product and will not leave you disappointed.
