20 Best Drag Radial For Daily Driver (2023 Updated)

I use to use B. F. Goodrich drag radials and I never had an issue with them. But then B. F. Goodrich stopped making the drag radials. I bought a pair of Mickey Thompson’s under great reviews from everyone I talked to.

I work in a shop so I got to mount the tires myself. the problem arose when i tried to balance the tires. they wanted a lot of weight, so i put the weight on and spun them again. they wanted more weight, so i put the weight on and spun them again.

AND, they still wanted more weight. I broke the bead, moved the tires on the rim and tried it again with the same results. I removed all the weights off the rims and watched the tires as they spun. both tires would noticeably bounce while spinning on the machine.

they were definitely out of round. i even took the tires off and just spun the rims and they were perfect. I never had this problem with the B. F. Goodrich drag radials. I should have contacted Summit right away about this but i didn’t.

3 years later, i tried balancing the tires again with the same results. even after burning some rubber off of them, they didn’t straighten out. I will definitely be trying other drag radials before buying another set of these.

Oh, and i also have a pair of 28×10. 5×15 MT slicks, and no problems with them.

I had a small problem this these tires. I wanted them for I got these tires for my Pro Street Truck. They look great. They are very sticky and grip very well. The big problem was with balancing. I got 2 of these for the rears on my truck.

First we noticed that they were not round. The second problem was they took allot of weights for balancing. At 65 the rear end came alive. Fortunately Summit is a great company and after talking to a customer service rep I exchanged them for a set of Hoosiers.

The Hoosiers were round and didn’t to need much for balancing weights. Now I can cruse at 75 with comfort and they really hook up. Good job Summit ! Your the best !.

I bought a set of these in 305/35r20 for the rear of my 2016 srt392 charger in an attempt to improve my off the line traction at the track. All i can say is the difference is night and day compared to both the stock all seasons aswell as a set of bridgestone summer tires i had previously had on the car.

I went from running 13. 2s in the quarter to a personal best of 11. 98 in that particular car. Other than the drag radials the car is 100% factory stock and these fot the factory wheels perfectly with zero clearance issues of rubbing.

My season is pretty much over but come spring i will be ordering another set for my hellcat charger.

Can’t beat Mickey Thompson Street strip radials. The 79’ TransAm they are going on will be just right for what the car is being built to do. 04’ LQ9 LS truck block, Magnuson 2. 3L whipple supercharger.

4spd. Can’t wait for 700 H. P. at the tires! 275/60R15.

Keep from goin crazy. prior to the Covid 19, I purchased this basket case for very little $. With time, the internet and hours of searching for parts. My 1999 Arctic Cat 500 ATV is now complete! This unit originally came with 25x10x12 on front and 25×10.

5×12 on the rear. When I got it, it was mismatched with Carlisle 489 Titans 26×10. 5×12 on front and 26x10x12 on rear. Both of which totally worn out, showing 5,100+ on speedo? It was a basket case when I got it, knowing it needed work.

But, time was all I had. Staying with American made. I purchased the Carlisle 489 II in a 27x9x12 front and 27x11x12 rear. It know has a great stance and gave me over 2 inch ground clearance without put a lift in it.

First tire cam in a day early and was covered in dust and goo. It was quite a job to clean all the crap off it. Second one came a day later from another source and was clean like a new tire should be.

Local wall Mart tire service center did not know if they could mount it. Another said they could not. Took it to local rocket scientists to have them mounted on rims.

Heavy duty. Had these tires installed at a reputable auto /farm service center. they had all the equipment needed and more to install these tires and it was worth every penny I spent because I watched them being installed and was amazed at how hard they were to air up.

getting them on the rim was easy the hard part was seating the bead. I have installed atv tires with much hard work before but after receiving these tires which were heavier than any i have ever worked with I made my life easy and had them installed.

I am completely satisfied with the tires and delivery was fast purchase was easy. THEY LOOK GREAT >at an unbeatable price.

I bought 2 of the Nitto drag radials as extras for my 2021 Challenger Super Stock. These came as standard on the car and bought extras for whenever I burned off the originals. All I can really review is Summit’s customer service.

I put these on my 2011 5. 0, and let me tell you. These things GET IT. Dead hooks first gear, shoots out like a canon buddy. You don’t even want to know how much chest hair I grew once I mounted these bad boys.

The Charlie’s Angels instantly came down from the sky to be with me once they found out about these bad boys being mounted onto the car. Driving through town when you drive past a girl, their skirt is instantly lifted up and they are turned into Marilyn Monroe.

These are the manliest tires a person can even buy, no doubt about it. You will spontaneously grow a beard, chest hair comes in full, and a bald eagle rides shotgun with you everywhere you go. You can not get more manly than these tires.

If you want something that make you go from some petty little child driving around to Uncle MF’ing Sam doing pulls across the US of A while the Charlie’s Angels and a bald eagle join you, these are your tires.

People may whine about the rain and snow traction, well buddy, you’re in luck. These come with a free ticket to an SR-71 they are so American. So if it rains, snows, ices, don’t even worry. Ronald Reagan will arise and come pick you up in a Lockhead and fly you off into the distance while fireworks shoot out the back.

The NT05R’s work very well on the street. This is our second set. Don’t expect them to last forever, you can’t have both. It’s a soft tire that hooks, at least from a roll, on 650WHP car. You don’t want to be flying around in a downpour, as you can imagine, they are a DOT legal slick basically.

Rain is not their strong suit to say the least. I think we got 6k miles out of the first set. with a lot of very spirited driving. Some folks are saying they are getting 8-10k miles out of them. Just depends on how you spend your time.

Less full throttle hits, the longer they last.

I’m sure these DR’S are amazing. However for my application 20×11 wheel these did not work. (315/35/20) I know the tires do not have rim protection but they didn’t even cover up the edge of the wheel.

Pictured below. 20×11 392 wheel. About 3/8 was visible and looked terrible. Grabbing a set of Nt05r instead. I was able to return them no problem.

I needed more traction once I started adding boost to my GT500. I wanted something that I could get some mileage and have traction. I went with 555R and they did not disappoint. Got approx 10K miles on the rear which included a couple trips to the drag strip.

Great summer tire but only summer when it is cold outside like 40 or below you will skate. Ride quality, road noise I gave 5 stars because I didn’t notice anything negative with them. Road noise? 3 inch exhaust and American Racing LTH solve any problem with road noise :).

I drive a Stage 3 Roush and did some upgrades that put it to about 605 whp not happy at all with the tires that do well on stock GTs etc “summer tires” These 555RII are insane. No burnout needed and I can get a full hookup in 2nd gear now.

They do very well for day to day driving especially for a drag radial. Have driven them in rain and no concerns on traction with low acceleration etc.

So my story begins back in September of 2017. I was browsing tires on facebook market place when I stumbled upon a young guy selling his lightly used Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 305/60R18 (Purchased for $475 with about 5,000 miles on them).

Had them mounted and balanced for $100. I have to say these tires have been so good to me and my 2007 Silverado (new body style). The tires I replaced today I had just around 65,000 miles on them. Rotated them myself every 2,500-3,500 miles.

They have that great aggressive tread noise also but it’s not over bearing or much louder than any A/T tire I’ve had in the past. They are great in wet conditions and muddy ones aswell (I’ve had Bridgstone Dueler A/T’s, these Mickey Thompson’s, and B.

F. Goodrich A/T’s in the past). Anyway funny story this is the very first set of brand new tires my truck has had since it left the factory in July 2007. All of my tires I put on it have been used. My Silverado has 208,000 miles now and I’m super excited to have put such a great set of brand new tires on it.

Also I probably should of replaced them around the 45,000 mile mark as they did start to loose traction (everytime it was wet out I had to make sure it was in 4wheel drive) but money was tight so I had to wait it out.

Any way hope this helps. P. S. When these wear out in a few years I’m already considering trying the Cooper Discoverer SST Pro’s (same company makes both) so maybe those would be very comparable to the Mickey Thompson’s.

One last thing I purchased these on 11/17/20 at 9am and they were delivered the next day just before 12pm. Shipping was free.

Replaced a worn out set of Coopers that never really impressed me with a set of ATZ P3’s in 275/65R20 for my ’14 F350. I live offroad in the Colorado High Country, drive offroad every day, tow 4 trailers from 1,100 lbs.

to 8,500 lbs. so tires get a workout. These tires balanced with little weights, ride smooth at all speeds, are visually larger than the previous 2 sets of same sized tires, look more aggressive than AT’s, and for a hybrid tire (AT/MT) with aggressive tread, are remarkably quiet at all speeds.

Certainly much quieter than most AT’s I’ve had, and much quieter than my other trucks Interco SS M16’s. Dry grip is good, dirt grip the same, no snow or mud yet but will get into both during the upcoming hunting seasons.

So far, so good. Nothing bad to say about these tires at all.

My first impression was that the CAD generated picture of the tire does not do it justice. Yes, these aren’t full grown mud tires, but they are very aggressive compared to other AT and hybrid tires out there.

I almost bought nitto ridge grapplers but these are way more aggressive without clapping on the ground like a full MT. With that being said, these tires balanced awfully. One took about 15oz of weight, another took 11, and the other two took about 6-8oz.

Tires with more weight went to the back but they’ll need to be rotated one day and I can already feel them in the back when I’m going 80. They do hum more than any other AT tire I’ve owned, however these also ride really nice for load range E tires.

I chalk tested them and run the fronts around 32psi and the rears at 30psi on my 1500. These are 33″ tires with a 2. 5″ level, these things absorb the bumps well but do not roll when running corners hard.

My last tires were 31″ light truck duty general grabbers on 17’s, they really rolled and squished around a lot and it killed my confidence in the corners. These handle off road paths with ease, I don’t crawl in my truck but I’ve heard many great things about them in the rocks.

I’ll be taking my truck on a 5500mi round trip to Zion national park next month and will review again afterwards. I’m really interested in how they’ll handle the messy New England snow this winter.

These came on my 2019 Jetta. The last set of Falkens I had ages ago lasted half as long as they were supposed to but drove nice (except in snow, but that’s neither here nor there at this point). Anyway, these seem to be very good tires, although in the first 2K miles they were pretty much dead quiet.

Afterward, they have developed some road noise that wasn’t there before similar to but not intolerable like the General Altimax RT43 tires I had on a Camry. The tread growl frequency on those General tires just drilled into my head and I regretted buying them even though they gripped wonderfully.

I can tell these emit noise in that same frequency, but thus far it is so relatively muted it isn’t an issue. It just seems like they were somehow designed to be quiet during the test drive. They are not good on abrasive, weathered asphalt like you see a lot on highways that were just skim resurfaced, but only high dollar Michelins ever seem to handle that well.

Whining aside, I did take them in some snow and they did as well as any quality A/S tire would. They do will with my, for lake of a better way of saying it, intolerance for driving slowly even on twisty roads.

Good braking grip, has kept me from driving up the back end of cars a few times. In there rain, there is a slightly more obvious brief hydroplane vs. the General tires I mentioned above if I hit a puddle, but it’s not like a cheap tire situation where your car just ends up yanked off into some direction or uncontrollable.

For such a thin tire, they grip well. Assuming they last the apparent 75K miles they warranty in the aftermarket, I’d certainly buy these again (at the right price).

I just purchased these Falken Sincera SN250 A/S tires for my car. My size 185/60/15 is not a popular size and there’s not a lot of choices available in this size. I was not happy with the Hankook tires that were on my car from the factory.

The Hankook’s wore out quickly, 23,000 miles and shot! They were also noisy and had a rough ride once they got some miles on them. I was leaning towards General Altimax tires which were good on my previous car and were great in snow and rain.

But, the General’s wore out quickly too, about 25,000 miles. So I turned to the advice of my trusted dealership service manger, he recommended the Falken Sincera SN250 A/S to me. I researched the Falken’s and decided to give them a try.

I was always a Goodyear fanatic, but I’ve been on a very tight budget the past several years. And didn’t want to spend the money for Goodyear’s. So far I’m glad I listened to my service manger and bought the Falken’s.

Noticed a huge difference right away. My 11 month old car rode better and was quieter than it was new! The Falken’s handle better and stick to the road better. The Falken’s are also very good on wet roads, no hydroplaning! Time will tell how well they do in the snow.

My past experience with most tires, is if they are very good on wet roads, they will be a least decent in the snow. The service from tirebuyer. com was also excellent! They had my tires delivered to my local installer the very next day (ordered late in the day at 5:30 P.

M. too). I must say, I live in southwestern PA and American Tire Distributors (tirebuyer. com distributor) has a large warehouse in central PA. So not a huge distance for delivery in my case.

I selected these because they were a little shorter (26 vs 28) than my prior pair and had a softer compound. I was trying to reduce the launch rpm I needed for great reaction time while maintaining consistent 60 foot times.

The slicks did just that. Reduced rpm needed for the same reaction time from 2600 to 2200 and the 60 foot times were as tight as ever, if not tighter. I only have one weekend of racing on them. A Summit Division Final.

Won Sportsman and went 6 rounds in Box class footbraking. Yeah, I am happy with them!.

Can’t go wrong with these. Couldn’t get anything close to hooking up but, mounted a set of these and cut over a second off my 60 ft. Time. Went from almost 3 seconds down to 1. 56. With this new found traction, I’ll be able to do some more tuning and shave even more off of that.

I love these tires. They hook up awesome and last a long time. I have been running M/T’s for years and will not try another tire. Why would I want to be disappointed. Lol. Love the new style lettering also.

I will never buy from BB wheels again. Terrible customer service. I specifically listed my make and model so you could send the correct wheels and hubcaps. My 92 f350 requires open front caps and deep closed rear caps.

Everyone knows this about all 1963-2022 f350s. They showed up with 4 shallow closed caps???? These are worthless. Called and was told that even though I mounted the tires on the wheels and nothing could be done.

I then spoke with someone else who decided I needed to purchase additional center caps for the tune of $200. Get real scumbags, I’m out and will advise everyone I talk to to stir clear from BB Wheels.

Mickey Thompson has been my elite since teen-hood. Ordered polished aluminum bullet rims for my classic ‘84 Silverado. Took over 4 weeks to arrive. Once unpackaged at the tire shop, they were defective with corrosion around the outer rim.

STILL waiting for the replacement set to arrive which is late. again. So disheartened with this experience. It’s equivalent to finding out your idol slapped another comedian on live tv.

Purchased these wheels for my 1971 GMC pickup because I needed bigger wheels to accommodate a disc brake upgrade. The wheels arrived quickly and the tires were installed and balanced. These wheels look great and clean easily.

I recommend these for any one wanting to upgrade there wheels.

The SKYRC IMAX is the real version not a knockoff and the difference is night & day. This LIPO charger has better electronics and has a built in cooling fan to protect them. Also, the instructions are very detailed about everything you can imagine.

It also balances cells better and best of all it does not overcharge LIPOs like most chargers do, which will damage them beyond repair. Super charger for the price.

This kit came with everything needed to fit my Traxxas Rustler, and installation was simple and straight forward. The bearings that came in the kit are rubber sealed and smooth, they seem well made so far.

All the steel parts in this kit are thick and seem as though they will have very good longevity. I noticed two things when installing this kit that could be slightly concerning. The first is a slight fitment issue with the hub’s.

The lower pin is rather tight and could cause some binding in the suspension travel. The second is with the retainer ring that helps hold the upper pin in. It has a small split in it that the pin can slip out of should the grub screw come loose.

Ive been using the b6 mini for a couple of years to power all kinds of projects. Its very versatile and even has enough power to bring a dead car battery to life. Discharging takes a long time but charging is fairly quick unless its a monster of a battery- its wattage rating and the rating of your power supply will determine how much of those 50-60 advertised watts will be flowing.

I like it enough to have bought a second one for simultaneous use.

I have 2 sets of these tires. 205/50/15 size on my Beetle and the 225/50/15 on my turbo Ghia. I bought them despite the “for automatic use only” advice. They just flat hook up. I don’t do burn outs. I just drive to the line and spin them to clean them off.

I went from a bias ply drag tire on both cars to these and man what a difference. They are 100 times more stable on the street. They are perfect for my application. Can you make one that is a 235/60/15?.

I had a set of et street bias tires on my car for years so when it was time to replace them I was shocked to find my size was discontinued. After talking to a rep at mikckey Thompson he assured me I would be more then thrilled with the et street r tires.

He was right!! I have been racing the same car same set up for 4 years and it would pull 1. 62 to 1. 67 sixty for times all day every day. With the new tires in the same set up at the same track it pulled 1.

54 1. 56 1. 54 back to back to back and gained 1 mph!! I will buy them again and again and again !.

My old 275/60R15 drag radials would spin anywhere in first gear. Replaced with 255/60R15 ET Street R. First stab from 20 mph, planted, and gone! Even at 26 psi. Love them! Low 11 sec 68 GTO auto, 3. 90 rear.
