20 Best Down Pillows For Stomach Sleepers (2023 Updated)

I don’t know if it’s because these arrive vacuum sealed and flat but this pillow does not have much fill and doesn’t keep its loft. I used to buy these from Costco and they were my favorite pillows but Costco has stopped carrying them.

The reviews I read before buying these pillows made it seem like they were full and firm but that is not the case. I wasted a lot of money on these and am very disappointed.

My pillows came and they are nothing like hotel pillows! Instead of squishy, cotton material, the pillows are covered with plastic and they are HOT!!! When you lay your head down, my head sinks all the way down to the bed, while the sides of the pillow stand straight up! Poor quality and not worth the money!.

Yes, I said fluffy cloud of joy when describing this pillow! I wasn’t kidding! Unlike previous pillows that I’ve owned whether down, feather, or filled with shredded foam, the one thing those all had in common was that they would not keep their shape.

There’s nothing worse than waking up having to punch and squeeze your pillow back into shape because it sinks down with the weight of your head. The Casper pillow truly cradles my head. It does not need regular fluffing.

It’s wonderful to wake up in the morning without a headache. Unlike other pillows I’ve owned the Casper pillow also stays cool during the night. Good friends recommended this pillow to me and I have been doing the same.

Also, if you deal with migraines and fibroymalgia like I do, the head and neck support is fantastic whether sleeping on your back or side. I will regularly recommend this pillow! A truly five star sleeping experience.

I’ve purchased quite a few pillows in the last year or so spending hundreds of dollars. I 1st bought an original Casper for my husband who needed a new pillow and had been complaining he wasn’t sleeping good, couldn’t get comfortable, I’d seen ads for Casper and thought I will try one.

He sleeps like a baby now. I only bought 1. After he told me how rested he is I thought I’d buy myself one. So I did and it was good, then I bought myself the hybrid Casper and I didn’t sleep as well with the hybrid version, so I went back to the original Casper, I liked it so much I bought 2 more.

I’ve bought them for my children as well, when they come for a visit they never complain. Casper pillows have grown on us, I think I’ve purchased 8 so far. A couple extra for guest rooms. I’m thinking of changing mattress soon, I may do some research on Casper beds.

I greatly enjoy their products (a king sized pillow, the original mattress, and the essential pillow). I’m not sure if they have slacked on quality of their product but I recently purchased the original Casper pillow (direct) and was greatly disappointed.

A couple years ago I purchased a pillow (cannot confirm the style) from my local Target and it had the utmost support for my neck and two years later, it is still superb. Unfortunately I am not sure what has happened to their production.

I went back to Target to purchase (to what I hoped would be the same pillow) and found an Essential Pillow (which is not sold on the website). The product was not the same as I had purchased before but it provided the quality I would expect from a Casper product.

Again, I love your products and want the company to continue their good work- but I feel that the pillow department has decreased in value the past couple of years. Either get back to the drawing board in the creative department or marketing needs to be a bit more direct with product updates.

Everyone says this but I really don’t write reviews. I’ve been given no other choice and hopefully this will FINALLY warrant a response from Sol Organics. I purchased duvet set and down comforter a year ago and love them.

This past January I purchased the Firm Side Sleeper Pillow and it didn’t work out for me. My neck was hurting so I returned it. Sol Organics received the return on 1/31 and I have yet to receive a credit to my card, it’s almost April! I have sent THREE messages and have yet to receive a response.

I tried calling multiple times and their phone never works, get a message saying not accepting calls. I’m not saying don’t purchase from here but do be 100% sure of your purchase b/c the 30 day trial is a SCAM!!!! Yes you can return your items but you won’t get your money back.

I hate to be that person but next stop is BBB. PLEASE RETURN MY $$, as I had returned your product within the 30 day trial.

I bought these as guest pillows and after testing them out I may have to make these my bed pillows. They appear so fluffy. My stomach sinks into the pillow and yet it feels supported. It feels like expensive hotel pillows, especially with new pillowcases.

The queen size still fit in my standard pillowcases. I feel like these pillows were a steal for the price. I have a memory foam pillow on my bed and these pillows are contenders in the comfort department.

This is it! Right out of the package, it was just the right softness. It feels like sleeping on a cloud. No more numb arms from neck tilt. I mostly use it to sleep on my back, but it is very moldable and could also be used for stomach sleepers or folded in half for side sleepers.

If you value your sleep, and time in bed, spend the money and get good pillows. The only reason I gave 4 stars, is that you might not get what you was bidding on, as in soft medium firm feather density.

Im a stomach sleeper, so I prefer the soft for sleeping, and the firmer density for sitting up and such. If you are a back sleeper, you will not find better pillows at these prices. Watch auctions and get a set of each density.

I do like the pillow. I have spine and neck problems so I had to reduce the amount of feathers in this pillow to work better for me. I may even reduce it more due to the pillow being just a bit too bulky for me.

The interior of the pillow is full of down feathers and it is very fluffy as a result. The pillow retains heat due to the down and feathers and so it can get uncomfortable if you are heat sensitive and have hot flashes.

I have a pillow allergy cover over it too and so this may also increase the heat but I did not have this happen with other pillows. The fluffy, moldable quality of the pillow is very reliable. I retried my old pillow which was a good quality down alternative after using this one for a while.

I found that while it was comfortable before using this pillow it is not as comfortable as this feather pillow. I used to wake with a sore neck but now I do not. So all in all it is a very good pillow.

The medium density pillow suits me rather well. Soft enough to be comfortable and yet firm enough to be able to use just one pillow for sleeping. I also believe this pillow because of its firmness will last a very long time.

If you like to sink into your pillow, I would suggest to get the soft density choice. After receiving this pillow, simply remove from the plastic to air out and regain it’s fullness. This pillow after several weeks of use has no odor and is holding up very well.

By far, one of my better purchases.

Omg! These smell entirely and absolutely like GEESE! I know that they are goose down, but the pillows smell like wet duck you’d see in a pond, as if they haven’t been properly cleaned. Even after running them through the washer and using Gain Aroma Boost and Downy, they still reek just the same! Don NOT buy! I am a mom of 3 so I definitely know a thing or two about lots of pillows! My 5 year old sat up less than 10-15 seconds of laying on them and said, “Mom these stink and smell like animals!” and the fact that she had absolutely no clue what they were made of, yikes! (They’re also flat and do fluff in the dryer as the rep advised me to do, Howe they do not stay fluffy they sink flat as a pancake.

Love Love Love these FEATHER PILLOWS!! They SO remind me of “back in the day” where feather pillows were the norm. No foam fill;( Now there are people that like cheap motel foam pillows, alright, but then, there’s the upgraded type of overnight stay places, you know the ones with 1000 count Cotton sheets type hotel experience.

Well these pillows are hands down an EXCELLENT FEATHER PILLOW.

I hesitated to order a product with no reviews, so I’ll give one. I liked that it was made in the USA, and it was described as what I wanted. I’ve had several goose down pillows over the years, but this is the first one that was “firm.

” I’ve noticed how the down pillows flatten out over time, so I wanted something more. I am fairly impressed with this pillow. It really is filled fully with down. It was perfect the first few nights (I’ve only had it a few days), but last night it actually seemed to have expanded a bit more.

But this is good, because it will settle and it’s more than fine this way. It’s probably too firm for stomach sleepers, but for back and side, I think it’s great. It’s very pliable on the sides allowing me to form it just the way I like.

It’s the best one I’ve ever had. I even thought about ordering another one so I could be sure to have one if this one wears out!.

These pillows (down, queen, overstuffed), are not too firm and not too soft. They are perfect! I had tried the down alternative overstuffed (way too hard), and the regular down alternative (on the lighter fill side so much so that they did not last a year).

These pillows are exactly the right amount of loft and the right amount of give. I was also concerned that they would be too hot, but they are so light and fluffy that any heat is easily dissipated with a flip and a fluff.

They are the height of luxury and well worth the price, especially if you are a hot, heavy headed, pillow wrestler such as myself. I hope they continue exactly as they are for years to come.

I purchased 2 of the overstuffed side/back sleeper down pillows about 2 weeks ago. They are pleasantly PLUMP. With the weight of your head, they compact a little and cradle your neck perfectly. Fluff up brand new in the morning.

Some feather pillows are too thin and do nothing. Some are too lumpy. Foam pillows sound like a good idea in theory but are often so firm that while your head is supported, your neck isn’t. These PG goose down pillows are just right.

I will say there was a slight feather odor but it’s dissipating. Sometimes animal products are going to have a smell that humans find concerning but we need to get over it. Life is not all Febreeze and Tide pods.

I have had problems with pillows for years. I typically buy a new pillow every 2 months. I purchased the overstuffed back/side sleeper down pillow in May of 2019. I have not purchased another pillow since.

I have never been happier. I finally convinced my husband to purchase one in March of 2020. What we received was a completely different pillow. It is much lighter, and NOT overstuffed. I called and asked for a replacement.

I was told that a shipping label would be emailed to me and a replacement would be sent right away, as well. Later that night, instead of a shipping label, it was an email from someone else, asking what I wanted to do.

I made it very clear that I wanted the pillow that I ordered. He was no help. In the end, he told me to order a replacement online, and the replacement would not be sent until they received the first one.

I called the next morning to let them know that I was very disappointed in the back and forth with multiple people, that this was a mistake on their part, and I just wanted it made right. Almost a month from the original purchase date, we received the replacement.

Again, it is NOTHING like the pillow I had received less than a year ago. Their quality has dramatically changed. We will probably be sending this one back and asking for a refund so we can go elsewhere and purchase a down pillow that isn’t flat.

This pillow is so flat that he has to fold it in half and put an arm under his head to make it as thick as my pillow-the one I purchased last May. My pillow has even flattened a bit over time, but it is still a lot thicker than the new ones.

I remember when I first got it-it was so thick that it was almost overwhelming. We are both very disappointed in this company for changing their quality. The pillows are the same price, with only about half the fill that they had less than a year ago.

Very nice down pillows for the price. They are comfortable but don’t have the softness of a higher down content pillow. My husband and I have been sleeping on them for over a month now and we both like them.

I don’t think I noticed they were only 10% goose down when I bought them but that was my mistake.

I am great fan of Columbia and have been for many years. That’s why I thought I would try this pillow. I tried it for 5 nights and concluded that it was not as good as the down alternative pillows that I already have.

I love Columbia‘s products but this is just not worth the money at all so I returned it. When I felt it in the store I thought wow that’s really keep cool at night that is definitely not the case it does for a very short period of time and then it’s the end.

Bought my son one if these pillows from a local store. It was fantastic. Decided to get one for myself, but had to order it online since it’s no linger in the stores. It came rolled up in a plastic container.

Like several other reviews I now see, it won’t take form. Instead, it looks like an oversized crumpled potato chip. Definitely getting returned. So sad a good product is manipulated like this and rendered useless.

I’ve always been a pillow flipper. I love the cool side of the pillow. But it usually doesnt last long. With this pillow, you still have to flip, because it doesnt stay cool all the time, but it most definitely stays cool longer than the average pillow.

I ordered this set because I stayed at a Hyatt and wanted pillow hat felt that good for my own bed. I was super excited when purchased this. However, after purchasing almost a month ago I finally got them and these items were not in any way what I expected based on the reviews I read.

The pillows had almost no filling in them. I literally just purchased cheaper pillows from Amazon for my guest bedroom and it way nicer and more comfortable than what I just received. I waited almost a month just to get these and now I have to turn around and send them back.

I just want my money back and I’ll go back to Amazon and get a set. Very disappointed.

I think I actually found a pillow to love. I could CRY. Why is finding a good pillow so difficult!? Anyway, I bought a couple because it was on sale and only needed it for “decor” bed pillows, but I’d buy it full price now knowing how lovely it is! The alternative down doesn’t feel weirdly fake at all.

There’s a nice density to it, as in it squishes down softly but with some resistance. It feels so high quality, and the sewing/stitching is quality too. I’m planning to try the low profile ones for sleeping, but the medium density could work for some people.

I’ve used Indulgence pillows for as long as I can remember – well over a decade – for every bed in my home. On December 22, 2018, I ordered 4 more King pillows with the expectation they would be of the same density, quality, and endurance that all my previous Indulgence pillows have provided to everyone in my home – guests included.

Reading the reviews before purchasing, I noted several were very unhappy with the pillow and couldn’t imagine why until the new ones were delivered and I had a chance to use them. Within 3-6 months, the pillows were completely flat and required constant fluffing to have any type of support.

All of my Indulgence pillows prior to these 4 have always maintained their support and resilience regardless how long you slept on them. Just to be honest, the only reason I purchased new ones is because the old ones were just that “old” and thought it was time to refresh them even though there was absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Long story short, the new disappointing ones are sitting in a storage closet in the house and I went back to my tried and true old ones that continue to provide amazing support after many years. I only write this review 2 years later because I was debating on purchasing another 4 to replace the “old” ones and was reading the reviews to see if BB&B had actually got this quality issued fixed.

As is typical of most places, they pat themselves on the back for 79% great reviews but ignore the other ones that are giving constructive and helpful feedback regarding a once great product that definitely has no greatness left.

BB&B, I strongly recommend, based on my review and dissatisfaction as well as the many others noted, that you reach out to the Carpenter Company – the manufacturer of this pillow – and find out what the change was and why the significant overall decrease in quality before you lose more devoted customers of this product.

I received the The Company Stare Company Conscious Down Alternative Pillow from BzzAgent to use and review. As soon as I unpacked the pillow I saw how thick and fluffy it was and when I gave it a squeeze it felt so soft and fluffy.

When I let go it bounced back into it’s full fluffy shape. The pillow itself it made with high quality materials, being cased in a pretty cotton sateen shell, and is filled with a tencel and lyocell fiber.

This sustainable filling is breathable and kept me cool and dry all night long. The Company Store says it has temperature regulating properties and that it’s naturally dust-mite resistant which is a super bonus.

I tried the Standard-sized pillow that’s generously sized measuring 20 in. x 26 in-so it gave me plenty of room to move with my changing sleeping positions. I haven’t washed this pillow yet but it is machine washable and you can tumble dry on low which is another great benefit.

I would definitely recommend this pillow especially because it’s a down alternative and not actual down-easier cleaning, cooler sleep, doesn’t flatten like a real down pillow does, and no feathers or quills poking out.

This pillow is the perfect combination of firmness and softness. It is not overly hard like a memory foam pillow can sometimes be or soft like a cheap pillow. The coolness that it provides is welcome especially in the middle of the night.

The white cover stayed bright white and was able to keep the pillow in because it has a zipper. The pillow was secure in the cover and the case was soft as well. Given the chance I would have picked a different color than white just because it would match my bedding better.

I use three pillows at night and this one I have been continuously using for side sleep when I get warm. It does have a cool, fresh feel especially when you first lay your head down. I was considering getting a set for my guest room but the pillow is more expensive than I thought it would be for a standard pillow.

Maybe a king size but it’s pricey for a standard. The case for the pillow is acceptable and acceptable price though. Before I decide to spend the money on new pillows I want to see how this one holds up.

I. LOVE. THIS. PILLOW! I have a very bad neck and back. Getting a good night’s sleep is few and far between. I’ve tried dozens of different types and sizes of pillows but if they feel good at all, it usually only lasts a week or two and I haven’t found a pillow that doesn’t aggravate an inner ear pain since I am a side sleeper.

I have often regretted getting rid of a feather-down pillow that my father used for years then I used. It was the best pillow I ever had but threw it away when the casing started getting thin and feathers were poking through.

Since then my neck has never felt good and I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on other feather-down pillows that don’t offer the neck support I need. I thought this pillow was priced so well that if it didn’t work I wouldn’t be out much money.

But, it’s a dream and I’ve slept “like the dead” since getting this pillow. My neck doesn’t ache and strangely, my neck range of motion is better! I am very pleased with this pillow and intend on buying a few more for hubby and daughter.

The price of these pillows was insane – $250 for two Euro pillows, however, I will admit that they are incredibly soft and fluffy and not a single sharp feather poking through. I will be enjoying them for many years to come! I just hate it that quality stuff is so expensive these days.

All of the reviews are pretty accurate these pillows are not firm with a heavy fill but I have enjoyed using them as a second pillow for my needs. I was intending to use them as my sham pillows but I would like a little more fluff in my sham pillows.

IF you like a pillow that is light and not very firm this one is great!.

We bought two curved downcomfort pillows with our sleepnumber bed in January 2021. We prefer the loft of true down pillows as side and back sleepers primarily, and these were exceptional for the first 6 months or so, but have slowly started losing all their loft and ability to stay lofty once fluffed ever since.

For the price, and in our experience, it’s really hard to recommend these unless you’re willing to pay to replace once a year, or don’t mind a fairly limp down pillow once “worn in. ” Four stars for comfort because they were great in the beginning.

Three stars for quality because they haven’t held up well in the long run. Two stars for value because when you’re paying this much for pillows, you should be able to get several good years out of them before the thought even crosses your mind that you might need to replace them.

Overall average, and disappointing.

I used to use two stacked pillows and sleep on my side mostly. This felt like the best support for my head but it would lead to achy shoulders and hips. and when I wanted to change positions it would require a 180-degree flip.

But, when I was shopping for my Sleep Number bed, I decided to go all-in on the system and purchase sheets and a pillow. The knowledgeable salesperson advocated strongly for the contoured True Temp Pillow, so I followed her advice.

I was skeptical because I had obviously tried a single pillow before, but I gave it a shot. It was so much better than I thought it would be! I was able to sleep comfortably on my back again because my head was supported just right! I had less aching in my shoulders and hips.

It was truly the difference-changer.

Purchased this pillow and ultimately decided it wasn’t worth the cost. Not a bad pillow by any means, just not the worth the price. Went to return it within the 90 day window only to find I’d have to pay $30 to do so, which is like a third of what I paid for it, so not really worth it in the end.

So now I’m kind of stuck with it cause I can’t really justify spending 30 bucks just to get 60 back. Guess it could partly be my fault for not reading the return policy better but do feel a bit cheated as I figured the 90 day satisfaction policy would mean I could get ALL of my money back if I was unsatisfied–which I am.

I guess BUYER BEWARE. Just be aware that you’re going have to pay for return shipping if you’re unsatisfied, and this pillow in my opinion was not anywhere worth what I paid for it. Only really paid for it cause I thought I could return it for a full refund if I was unhappy.

I have come back to change my review, because unfortunately these pillows cause me quite spectacular pain in neck and shoulders within a few minutes of leaning against them. I have tried this 3 times over a few months to make sure it is the pillows, and unfortunately it is.

I do have a pain condition, but have never experienced anything like this with any other pillow. My guess is that there’s no support. I will have to give them away. I bought both the soft and medium versions and cannot tell the difference.

Obviously lots other people find them great, but if you have pain, maybe buy one and check it first!.

I bought this pillow after reading the many great reviews it received. I was skeptical because I don’t normally buy firm pillows. I also found the pillow incredibly lightweight which left me concerned about that balloon feeling that other lighter weight pillows have provided.

I also worried that down would flatten too easily during the night. My fears were for nothing. The firm pillow is amazing. Despite its light weight it provides great support, and is easily fluffed up if it gets a tad flat at night.

Although firm, it is not hard and does not create pressure on my neck during sleep (I am a side sleeper though I move around a lot). I have only been using the pillow for a week, so cannot comment on its durability, but so far it has given me some of the best nights of sleep in recent memory.

I agree that the cost is high, but after suffering with so many cheaper pillows that did not deliver, the cost is not even on my mind anymore.

This soft pillow is perfect for my 5’2″ female frame and has increased my time of uninterrupted sleep. Over the years, my career was extremely physical and very traumatic to my spine and neck. As a result, I suffer insomnia from pain, so I’m constantly looking for ways to improve my sleep.

In researching pillows, I found that height is just as important as sleeping position. Sleep position research sources not considering height recommended a medium pillow. But every medium pillow of various filling I tried caused pain to my neck.

I purchased a Matouk Valletto in soft and one in medium, but the soft was the winner. However, I kept the medium for propping pillows to read or watch TV in bed. Another great feature of the goose down is it maintains a comfortable temperature, where foam and many down alternatives would retain heat when I settled into a sleeping position.

The price may seem excessive for a pillow, but its similar to other down pillows that feature a large percentage of goose down and fill, duck down and feathered pillows are cheaper. I had considered another brand that advertised 100% down that included a scented lavender pouch in every pillow and is assembled in the USA.

I decided not to purchase that brand because it did not identify the source or type of down. I was left wondering if that other company’s fragrant pouch was to cover the mild scent that may occur when duck or another fowl other than goose down is used.

I have not noticed any fragrance with the Matouk Valletto pillows. Plus, the Matouk’s website provided more information about the down used in their items. I’ve had my Matouk Valletto soft pillow for over a month and I absolutely love it.

These are the pillows you dream of. Firmish, but your head sinks in… yet they immediately poof back up. Like that five star hotel you will never forget. If you want medium? Get firm. I have a jacked neck, and these are heavenly.

You may need more support if you are a side sleeper. I bought two for myself.

I always buy goose down pillows but these are the worst I’ve ever had. Bought to replace old ones and I will sending back. My head is touching the mattress through the pillow. Definitely not worth the price.

Very disappointed.

This might be the worst pillow i have ever bought. It just came one in a bag and after a week of use it was literally flat, totally use less. Not worth it to buy with a price tag. Avoid this at all cost.

I bought pillows couple of weeks ago and unfortunately since first use they feel not full enough, they are pretty flat. My previous pillows (different brand) were little bit cheaper but with almost double of the amount of down feather.

Very nice finish and fabric but not for its price. Disappointed customer :(.
