20 Best Down Pillow For Side Sleepers (2023 Updated)

I dont do reviews, but this one warrants a few minutes. We first tried these pillows while st my sister’s wedding in Mobile Al. Fort Conde Inn. I am a large man with a solid upper body which tends to make divots in mattresses and lump pillows causing stiff neck and shoulders and endless tossing and turning.

When I first put my head on these pillows ot was like nothing was lumped under my head yet supported me perfectly. I live in MS and have gotten used to pillows also being extremely hot after they get bunched up.

these babies dont need adjusting and stay cool. After 3 nights of the best sleep in years we snapped pics of the tags and immediately ordered a 2 pack when we got back home. They are just as good today as the first time I ftried them and at $40 a pair they just can’t be beat in my opinion.

They have replaced multiple pillows of every kind and so far I am completely happy. They are worth a try.

I’ve had such tough luck finding a decent pillow. I was looking for soft, but not so soft that it doesn’t hold its shape. After reading other reviews I decided to give these a try and I’m so glad I did! I first ordered two and liked them so much that I ordered two more.

I am absolutely loving these pillows. After using regular poly-fil pillows for years and years, I opted to try these and am so glad that I did. Both my husband and I are getting much better rest and sleep on these grand down alternative pillows.

I’m not having to push and shove my pillow around to get comfortable, nor am I having to constantly fluff it up. This pillow so far has simply been a delight for me. The quality of materials and the edge stitching is of great quality also.

These pillows alleviated years of neck pain in ONE night- I’m not kidding. I’ve had shoulder stiffness, neck pain, and headaches for about two years now due to a mild injury while doing yoga, go figure.

I noticed that my pain would exacerbate if I “slept wrong”. To address this I started to change out my pillows, I bought a mattress topper, ended swapping the mattress altogether, and none if it really worked.

As far as pillows go, I tried the memory foam, shredded memory foam, one that was layered with who-knows-what, and a couple of latex ones. None of them come close to how good the Lincove goose down pillows are.

I’ve been sleeping like a baby since I’ve used them. Which makes a world of difference as I now wake up feeling refreshed instead of tired, achy, and tense. I would like tip off future costumers on the firmness guidelines set by Lincove.

I sleep on my stomach, my back, and my sides. And as I was going through the reviews I read that the lofts were too low for their recommended uses. I have two pillows with different loft heights and what Lincove suggests is very accurate.

The medium firmness is perfect for when I’m sleeping on my back but a tad bit too high for stomach sleeping. And the firm firmness is really puffy, maybe too puffy, but good for side sleeping. I’d also like to mention that the chat feature on their site is super convenient as they reply promptly and have been able to answer my questions and addressed my concerns.

The costumer service is great. I highly recommend this product not only because the quality is immaculate & the service is centered around the costumer but because I really felt like my sleeping problems were hindering my life and these pillows have come have turned things around for me – at 29 years old it truly is a world of difference.

I have multiple autoimmune disorders/diseases and RA, OA, OP, neck and severe shoulder pain. Migraines which have worsened since sleeping with these pillows. I used to sleep with the Tempu Pedic cloud memory pillow.

But it was so heavy and after several years my neck and should pain was getting more severe. Then I bought Lincove 800 fill goose down king size pillows. Tried to enjoy them but after a few months my neck and shoulder pain are even worse.

I saved up the money over the time as I knew these would be expensive but worth it. I know paying $150 bucks for 1 pillow might seem pricy, but keep in consideration that a real goose down pillow will help you sleep through the night, without any breaks in the middle and will last for years and still stay fluffy as day 1.

Meanwhile keeping you healthy as well as its hypoallergenic. VS the other crappy feather and polyester pillows you can throw out of the window after using them a couple of nights, because it starts to stink and are not hypoallergenic.

Dear Casper, I’ve had my pillows for years. As I launder them for the countless time, I’m inspired to let you know how much I STILL love my Casper pillows. They are still comfortable. They are holding up so well, and we are frequent launderers.

We follow the directions to make sure we unzip the outer pillow before washing and drying. Even when we had the one, and only, issue with a manufacture defect, you remedied the situation with immediate effect.

I bought mine last October and fell in love with it. I have never bought a side sleeper pillow. I just washed mine. I filled up the washer and pushed part of the pillow down in the water and it pops back up.

So I let it set there a good while. I put it in with towles. I wet the towels and put about 4 of them on top to give it some weight. Then I distributed an even load. The pillow came out perfect. It didn’t take long to dry either.

I don’t write many reviews because frankly, I don’t get paid to review my purchases. But I am buying 3 more of these for the other bedrooms and as a gift. I’m over 60 and have tried many, many pillows.

This one worked well for me. Oh, and I have COPD and as a sidesleeper, my masks stays comfortable the entire night long.

Tried several pillows over the past year on Amazon with no luck. Either too hard, too soft, middle of pillow goes flat after a few weeks or you can’t adjust it to fit under your head or neck. This one moves around and fits the way you like it and doesn’t sag in the middle because the inner stuffing is loose inside like a down pillow.

You can plump it up where you need it especially if your neck needs more support. It feels soft but supportive and I look forward to a night of great sleep on this pillow as I sink down into what feels like a nestling, cradling soft cloud.

Highly recommend if you wanna feel like a kid again.

These pillows are actually pretty nice. I got two to replace some feather down pillows that had a thick harder fabric casing over it to keep the feathers from poking out. The fabric was too hard while the feathers still poked out through it, so, I needed an alternative with thinner more bendable fabric without feathers in it, and these were perfect.

They help with my neck since it’s more softer inside as well as the fabric bending to conform to my face. I’ve had nasal surgery a couple years ago, and need super soft pillows that won’t bend my nose while I sleep on my side, or on my tummy.

With the down feather pillows before these ones, I would wake up with my nose swollen, but now I haven’t been, thanks to these more softer pillows, inside, and out! I should’ve bought four, but only bought two; might purchase a couple more later, if they don’t go out of stock.

Was skeptical because of price so I ordered them anyway as they were for my guest room. As the pandemic isn’t under control as of yet I figured why not. No one would be using it for probably another year.

Promptly they arrived and as I opened them I found two rolled up tightly objects. As I laughed out loud unfolding them. They felt like a scratching post for the cat. Phone rang I stopped and turned walked away.

Im very particular about pillows. I thought I was going to hate them because they are a little stiff but they are now my favorite out of all of my down pillows. I have the bamboo and a couple other popular brands which are now second best.

The quality of the stitching etc is phenomenal.

These Pillows are wonderful. Soft as well as just plain huggable. After use they fluff back up to their original shape. I would be proud let guests use these and recommend them to anyone. They are great, good job.

This is my first overstuffed pillow and I am in love! I didn’t realise just how much sleeping on the wrong pillow was affecting me. I have had the overstuffed pillow for about a month and it has made such an incredible difference in my sleep routine.

I am able to stay asleep without needing to get up and find another pillow to put under my neck for support. Though the pillow is overstuffed, it does not feel too big or bulky. It actually molds to my head and neck so I feel protected.

This set also came with an allergy free mattress protector which is also very comfy. It has a decent protective layer which keeps dust off my actual mattress. This alone has been a huge time saver, as I can now vaccum my mattress only once a month as opposed to once a week.

The description on this item states that the pillows are firm. they are not even a medium firm. For some this may be a good pillow, however if you have constant neck and shoulder pain as I do they will not work.

They have a 1″ gusset, but I prefer a 2″ which in a quality firm pillow fills and gives more support between your neck and shoulder. These pillows are heavy because of the Micro-Fibre material that they are filled with yet they are flimsy,,,,when you push your fingers down in the middle of the pillow they go right down to the mattress.

They are tight rolled to get the air out of them for shipping so once opened it is embarrassing to walk into BBB with two unpackaged pillows to ask for a refund.

These have quickly become my absolute favorite pillows. It comes with 2, which is just perfect. The pillows are soft and squishy, yet supportive. It really is like laying your head on a cloud. I am so glad that I purchased these, they will definitely be my go-to pillows from now on! The mattress protector is a great bonus as well.

When I first stayed at the Disneyland Grand Californian, I couldn’t believe they had pillows that didn’t make me wake with neck pain! I got the pillow information from the concierge and it led me to Amazon where I’ve been buying the same exact Disneyland pillows for years.

Well, now that exact item is discontinued on amazon, so I found these on the downlite website. I ordered them and low and behold, they’re my beloved Disneyland pillows! Yes, they take a few nights sleep to conform to my specific neck height, but give it a few days and you’ll be sleeping like you did at Disneyland! Btw, I’m a side sleeper, so making sure I have the correct pillow height and cushioning for my neck and ears are important.

Before Disneyland, I had to put up with neck pain and sore ears due to pillows that were too firm so they at least gave my neck some support. Too soft and my head sinks down into the mattress and my neck isn’t aligned correctly.

This pillow – after a few days to a week of breaking in – is perfect for side sleepers! Soft enough that my ear isn’t mashed to my head (painful) and firm enough to support the neck. The cluster puffs fill the gap of my neck to support it.

Best part of this pillow is how it can be fluffed up to almost a downy consistency; the cluster puffs can be manipulated to create wells for ears. No other pillow has done this. as long as downlite makes this pillow, they have a lifetime buyer.

I have to say i am amazed with this pillow! I was excited to try the Ice fiber down alternative pillow. My thoughts were initially intrigued if this pillow would actually stay cool after using. And it does indeed! Ive used it every night for more than a week.

It is soft and comfortable to lay on throughout the night. I am a side and stomach sleeper and this is a great pillow to have. It helps with night sweats and sound sleep. I recommend to anyone who like a cool soft sleep.

We like the pillows so far. We ordered 2 soft pillows. No allergies so far, organic materials feel great to the touch. They are fuller than some other brands, but that works great because my husband and I actually use it when we lay flat (not stomach sleeper as they suggest).

We’re lightweight and like to sleep flatter. They did mess up our order the first time around; one of the pillows they sent was firm. However, they immediately responded when I reported it and then sent out a replacement.

Took a week to arrive but did get here with a candle as (I assume) an apology. That was really nice. Very happy so far with the pillow quality. Will see how it is to sleep on long term. (Only complaint is that the Queen pillow sheets we bought from them are much too big for the their own standard sized pillows so it looks kind of ugly when on!).

I should have bought this down pillow sooner, I went though a lot of pillow types before deciding to invest in down. I am mostly a side sleeper and I got the soft pillow, which has worked great for me because I end up on back and stomach too and I can change the loft by pushing on it.

Great pillow I think medium is soft firmness but using it as a body pillow and it fine. Easy of ordering and shipping it quickly was a plus.

I don’t normally write reviews unless I feel very moved, either positively or negatively by a purchase. I ordered two Queen Down Feather Pillows with high hopes that they would be comparable to a great luxury-hotel down/feather pillow, with enough down to feel cloud-like and forgiving and enough feather to support your head without sinking down to the mattress.

I could tell this wasn’t the case before I even pulled them out of the box- they looked lumpy and totally deflated, and were quite heavy. I fluffed one up and decided to try it for a night anyways. Terrible night of sleep.

This pillow is lumpy, heavy, stiff, smells strongly of duck down/feather (instead of using goose which smells less) and does not have a good ratio of down to feather in my opinion. I woke up the next morning and couldn’t move my neck at all, had to take meetings all day laying flat on the floor with a heat pack wrapped around my neck.

I would not recommend this pillow, but am giving it two stars as sleep comfort is a personal preference. I would give five stars to Coyuchi’s 30 day guarantee and return process.

I’ve had this pillow since February 2021 and it has hold up well to many nights of rest and even my pets jumping or sleeping on it. I do use a 300 thread count cotton sateen pillow case which may have helped a bit to withstand daily use.

But since this is a down FEATHER pillow there will be some quills (the pointy end of a feather) sticking out so keep that in mind. It doesn’t shed feathers like crazy but occasionally I do find a few feather here and there poking out to be freed.

I’ve had down feather pillows in the past (from other companies) that had so many feathers sticking out so frequently but this one has very little of that problem. However, I do wish the pillow’s fabric was thicker to accommodate the quills that may poke out.

Overall not bad, pretty nice pillow and it’s the only pillow I will sleep on.

My first down pillow from Coyuchi was two years ago and is my favorite pillow. It was a little too firm at first but within a week or so was perfect. So I ordered a second one. It is HALF the thickness of the first one.

I can poke my finger from the top and feel the bed below. It has a split with no feathers if you bend it. I am not sure why anyone would pay anything for a pillow like this. It is going back. I am so disappointed.

I am a pillow puncher! I love that is pillow is not a formed shape that dictates how your neck and head will lie. I sleep on my side and the ‘stuffing’ can be shaped to perfectly fit against my shoulder, neck and head by manually moving the fill around which then stays put for the night.

I have no idea what the fill may be but it stays cool and because it can be shifted and shaped I am comfy in any position. I wish I had found this pillow many years ago. I love it!.

This pillow is truly amazing! I have slept so well on it that one time I actually fell back asleep after waking up on a weekend because I was so comfy. I didn’t want to get up. I sleep peacefully and enjoy the soft but fluffiness that this pillow provides.

I rarely get poked but I know the pokes comes with having a true down filled pillow. But I can handle that for a wonderful feeling when I lay my head down after a long day. This is a must buy if down pillows are you go to pillow.

This is suppose to be a medium pillow. It feels like there is barely anything in it. I wake up repeatedly during the night and have to fluff it up. I eventually started putting another pillow under it so my head wouldn’t be sinking through to the mattress.

Then I was like “why”! I shouldn’t have to use two pillows to feel like there was something there! This pillow is now in a closet for anyone who tells me they need a super light, nothing there pillow.

The Eddie Bauer 360Down Plush Top Pillow is amazing. It provides good neck support since I am a back sleeper but is also comfortable and plush. I don’t like hard pillows and this one is definitely not a hard pillow.

It holds it’s shape and doesn’t flatten out at night. I highly recommend this type of pillow for a back or side sleeper.

My old feather pillow had gotten too flat and ran into Dillard’s to plunk down some serious cash on a new one, expecting I’d pay at least $200. Was hesitant to purchase this one as the price was so much lower- was concerned it wouldn’t be anywhere near the same quality as my last one.

Best purchase however, a firm and not too flat feather pillow great for side sleeping, and the feathers aren’t poking through like the last one I bought. Highly recommend and will be purchasing a couple more for my guest room! #sweepstakes.

This pillow is amazing! This is the best pillow if you are one of those people flips around from stomach, back & side. It’s soft. I bought two for our guest house & loved them so much that I bought another for home.

Great price and almost as good as a total down pillow. Soft and works well with my older feather & down pillow. I feel like the size is just a bit bigger than my other queen size pillow making it a little snug when putting in the pillow case.

I am hopeful it will wear well.

I’ve had many pillows over the years, down, down alternative, polyester fiber fill, shredded memory foam, solid memory foam with a gel side I tried many. A few months ago I decided to try down again and purchased a pair of down pillows.

Initially I thought that I finally found a long term sleep solution. Within weeks the down clumped and bunched up and needed constant fluffing throughout the night, leading to interrupted sleep. Then the quills began poking through the pillowcase, again not conducive to a good nights sleep.

I knew then I needed to replace the down pillows. I have been very happy with my Sheex sheet sets and took a closer look at their pillows and decided to order one to see if the pillows are as well made as their sheets and live up to their description.

I am happy to say that this is an excellent, well made and super comfortable pillow for side sleepers. It has the right amount of loft for side sleepers and doesn’t require me to wake every couple of hours to fluff it or turn it over to find the cool side.

I will be ordering another soon for my wife. Thank you Sheex for making an pillow that isn’t a pain in the neck to sleep on.

These pillows are great! They are so soft and comfortable. I bought them for myself, then my husband wanted one and then both kids. I have them in two houses and in all of the bedrooms. Guests always ask what they are! We use both styles, back and side.

The back sleeper pillow is more squishy and the side sleeper is higher and has more loft. I use both styles and just adore them! Can’t say enough positive things except they are best pillows I have ever owned and slept on.

I’m a big fan of this pillow. Got the king size of this one and the side sleeper one. They’re both unexpectedly super comfortable, but I generally prefer to sleep on my back/stomach so this one is for me and the side sleeper was given to my husband, who immediately turns to his side to fall asleep.

I’ve felt better rested and I’ve had zero neck/back pain after a few nights using it. I do really recommend this one for back/stomach sleepers… but if you already know you prefer a little height, go with the side sleeper one.

It’s the same, just has more height for side neck support.

These ARE NOT firm pillows. They go very flat fast. I tried putting both in one pillow case but it was a little too stiff. I may try purchasing a pillow protector to make them more firm.

Highly bad make. the pillow is stuffed less than half full, making it very uncomfortable. The filling also seems to be made with some sort of plastic as it keeps making rupturing noise during use.

Not the best pillows. For a “firm support” pillow, I expected these to have more support. I’ll keep them as an option for guests but would not recommend if you prefer a well supported pillow

I’ve been looking for ways to improve my sleep and am happy to have found this pillow! Made with a combination of Tencel and cotton fabric, this pillow is soft to the touch, providing very comfortable support.

In addition, the fabrics help with moisture control, which is great since I tend to get on the sweaty side. I also tend to sleep on my back, and this has an average fill density, making this perfect for me.

It’s filled with feather and down, so it’s also hypoallergenic too! It even touts having antimicrobial properties! After a few days of regular use these pillows still hold shape and look as fresh and soft as they did from the start.

This pillow more than fulfilled my expectations. I got it because it was listed as being 100% goose down and being sold under the Martha Stewart name. I have found that Martha Stewart items tend to be aboveboard.

I had also found that 100% goose down pillows were just hard to find even from better companies. They all seemed to have a percentage of feathers. I had tried the combination pillows but always ended up going back to my old, very broken in, down pillows.

I took this pillow out of its protective case, put on a pillow cover and case and test drove it. It was a winner from the second my head sunk into the soft folds of the pillow. Having had neck surgery, having a good pillow isn’t a luxury, it’s a must.

I qam looking forward to many comfortable nights.

I’ve had feather pillows since I was a child. So I always go for more. These were the worst I’ve ever gotten. They are flat, and when you do lay on them the feathers move backwards and away from your head.

The material is also not comfortable. It crinkles when you move. Wish QVC still carried northern nights feather/down pillows. Those were awesome.
