20 Best Door Mat For Muddy Paws (2023 Updated)

I love this door mat! It looks exactly like the picture. The rug has sage tones to it which is exactly what I was hoping. The small rocks look very realistic too! It is true to size and very heavy! You wont need to worry about the edges rolling up or it moving in a wind storm.

It looks very expensive and well worth the cost! The price is much cheaper through WalMart if you comparative shop elsewhere.

Not as vibrant as pictured. Attracts fur like a magnet. I take it outside to use a hose on it to remove the fur.

The mat is quite ok! The colors are fine and as I put the mat in the kitchen they will most probably never fade. However the mat is a tad higher than expected, so I cannot place it right at the doorstep but a little further away.

I got used to it so it’s ok!.

I am going to be cautious about this product review as I have only had it a couple of weeks and only washed it the once. I bought it to replace another similar mat that my neighbour’s dog had chewed a hole into.

First note that there are two very similar products available from online outlets and in some store. Some like the one here, have a fairly solid plastic backing to the mircro-fibre top and the other variation has a series of rubber-type strips that eventually disappear with repeated washings but do not impact the quality of the product.

So far the product seems fine. My question would be how long that plastic backing will survive use and washing? If it starts the shed sizable bits of plastic into the washing machine and floor, I will not be pleased.

I guess that time will tell. Just be aware of the difference of the two product varieties. As I said all fine so far. Thought – If your dog likes to wee on the mat, as mine does occasionally, this plastic-backed option could be good! Drying time compared equally to my other original mat, when I washed them together.

Note – one thing that I do not like about these reviews is that the Quality/Durability rating is Mandatory. Since many of us review products having barely used them, it is illogical to insist on a marking for Durability.

Thus I have marked it as only ‘Fair’ as even that is not entirely honest after only a couple of weeks use.

Love it! I now have 2 door mats and a runner. Our dog loves them. They are very water absorbent and wash beautifully. Be sure to hang to dry so they keep their absorbency. The color is just slightly darker than show – but definitely the same color for decorative purposes.

Our Samuel is a 112 lbs puppy and fits beautifully on the door mats when napping and sprawls out on the runner. Its his go to place. Buy this brand for sure.

Very nice mat! It’s a bit larger than I thought it would be, but it actually fits my doorway better. The only negatives are that that pile is so deep, that leaves tend to get stuck within the “Welcome”.

Also, when wiping off my feet, some of the materials balls up and comes off. almost like how a sweater will “pill up”.

This is a very cute rug and bigger than your average welcome coir mat. It looks very nice and welcoming. It’s very heavy and nice and think so it will last for a while. Also, because it’s not painted, it will look nice longer.

I wanted something a little bigger than I had. I also wanted something that would clean dirt off shoes and this mat looked like it could. I love the dog theme. I’m very happy with my selection.

Compared to others who sell a dual Go Away/Come In mat, this, by far, is the best. It’s the size of a normal format; it’s study, durable and thick. It is rubber on the bottom, and a thick course, shoe scrubbing texture on top.

The words are legible and solid. The only downside is the way it sheds. High quality product, though. Wonderful buy for the price. I would buy again.

I really like the design of this welcome mat. The paw print/heart is perfect in an understated way for the home of a dog lover. Plus, I was happy to purchase the mat at a sale price.

The products are a standard coco mat color, not gold as in the photos. Stiil, they look nice, don’t shed and priced right. I had not purchased from Houzz before and I am thoroughly impressed.

Love this great out doormat. Love the dog paws and the heart and is was larger than I expected. Saving to place on the front porch when all my renovations are done.

Beautiful doormat! I bought this to replace a same sized coir mat that hasn’t worn well. This coir is much denser. The ink is dark. All in all it just seems like a better quality than the one I had.

Not only does it keep the dirt out of my house, but it tells everyone what I’m all about

Please read this through- I bought 3 of these black Hello coir mats for my 3 doors- main back door/front door ( hardly ever used) which are both under a covered porch! and walk in basement door… So for starters- I did love them when I first opened them up.

I only put out 2 -the back door and front door- and waited on my basement one because of renovations. I placed them on top of my black and white buffalo check mats and it looked so good. Didn’t take long- I’m talking maybe 2 weeks- and the one at the back door was turning brown.

After yelling at my teenage son for wiping his dirty boots on my new mat and ruining it – I switched mats out so a new mat was at my back door. SAME PROBLEM ONLY AFTER 2 – 3 weeks AGAIN!!!! It was so worn and used looking it looked terrible!!! So I broke out the last new mat- placed that at the front door and that is currently the only “new” looking mat yet.

The one at both my basement and my back door are literally brown and worn and look like they’ve been there for 2 years. I’m so disappointed after spending $90 on them. The other reviews were collected from another site for a promotion- and they HAD to have been lies!!! These mats do not hold up at all.

Do not waste your money.

This cat doormat is super cute! I love the font on it and the little pops of color look so good. It does have a cat photo/shadow on it which I also enjoyed. It says “Home is where someone purrs to greet you”, which as a cat person, is absolutely adorable.

The top portion of the doormat is really nice, it definitely does it’s job well. I would say the one part I didn’t love was the bottom off the doormat, it does slide just a bit more than I would like it to.

However, I have since moved it to a different surface (carpet) and it is now working wonderfully. I would avoid a slippery surface. Overall, incredibly impressed! I’d love one more for my back door.

Well, this is a good looking mat and I have enjoyed having it on my covered porch. That is until we had a storm and the rain blew in on it! The color bled from it and has stained my cement porch. There is a big blank rectangle when the back of the mat was on the porch and then red color that bled from the mat and stained my concrete.

I used vinegar and baking soda, a powdered cleaner and then an acid type cleaner that we used on red clay stains. nothing works!!! I don’t even know where this red color came from, just some part of the color combination in the mat.

Terrible purchase! Lovely to look at, but not without extreme consequences! Ruined my porch!.

This is probably my 3rd or 4th mat from this company – great at grabbing the wet and dirt from feet and paws in our PNW variable weather! I’ve placed this particular mat inside on our tragically white carpet (house came w, would not choose!) by the French doors off the deck.

Definitely pretty enough to have in the living room!.

I like the size, the pattern and the color. It looks like it’s very well made. Let’s see how it holds up after a year. I’m tired of buying a doormat every other year.

This mat is a perfect solution for in front of the door. I live in a place that is very dusty / sandy so needed a mat to trap the dirt, shake out easily and best of all, be able to wash it easily. The design is appealing, without looking like a bath mat or just a plain ugly rubber mat.

Great size mat, ideal for all the footfall we have coming through our hallway. I would recommend this item.

Looks great just inside the front door! A very utilitarian floor mat that looks more like a nice rug. It protects the floor from mud and moisture extremely well. It’s also a low profile that doesn’t interfere with the door, and it stays put.

Disappointed with the Honeycomb. The color is perfect (dark blue)! However, this is not at all like our standard waterdogs we have purchased through the years (which we love). This honeycomb design collects everything (which is good).

We have an elderly shepherd/chow mix needing the traction when coming and going from outside into our laundry. Unfortunately, it is NOT easy to clean. We simply sweep our standard waterhog mats and they look great.

This honeycomb design collects particles and keeps it within its design. We literally have to get on our hands and knees and use a sticky tape roller to get any dog hair, outdoor particles off the mat.

The honeycomb shape unfortunately doesn’t work for our need. We only purchased it because of the color for our decor and size requirement for the room wasn’t available in the standard waterhogs.

We are disappointed to see that the quality of materials and construction of the Waterhog Mats has gone down. We own a few around the house and they are sturdily built, with heavy rubber layer beneath, and the top material has a brush-like pile to catch dirt on shoes.

This runner is very thin, made of chintzy material on top which is shiny and compressed, not bristled, and a much thinner backing of black, shiny stuff that does not seem like real rubber. For $120, I am very disappointed in the new construction of the Waterhog and plan to return it.

We recently adopted a shelter dog and now have more traffic coming in the house in all kinds of weather. I wanted to protect our engineered wooden floor from wet feet and paws and this doormat directly inside the front door does the trick.

The dark brown color matches the wood so it looks good as well. I haven’t washed it yet, but do not anticipate any problems.

This mat is perfect for our back door, where the dogs and kids routinely use. Made of sturdy material, isn’t a tripping hazard, and looks nice. Easy to vacuum clean.

This is exactly what we needed for our back door. This rug is high quality and lays flat right out of the box.

Very cute. However, the backing of the outdoor mat hinders the rug from drying. There are drainage holes set in the backing, but this just isn’t clearly enough to enable the carpet to dry. As an indoor doormat I think this would work well, but not for outdoor use.

I’ve been battling with a bird that lives in my front door light. And he/she leaves messes! Thank goodness for the ruggable doormat because it’s easy to clean and has not stained or faded in the lease.

Plus it shows my love for dogs of all kinds.

I purchased a doormat which I knew I would love as I own a number of ruggable carpets. It arrived with two black marker lines on it in places that they shouldn’t have been. I sent a picture to customer service.

Shortly after I received a call and was told a new one was already being processed to send out to me. I live in Canada and was told I didn’t need to send the other back which would have been a big hassle.

I bought two of these floor mats for our pups as the oldest has always loved to be the messiest water drinker I have ever seen. A cheap mat that I used in the past was constantly soaking wet and our kitchen floor was always a mess.

This is now one less problem that I now have to worry about. These mats provide separated spaces for our two dogs during mealtimes, look great in our kitchen, and keep all of the water off our floor!.

With 2 dogs and a cat drinking out of the same bowls, the mat I was using always felt like it just came out of the washer without going through the spin cycle. I was desperate to find something before I wound up with a mold and mildew problem.

This was the perfect solution. Now everything stays dry.

My 80-pound puppy splashes the water in his bowl with his huge paws to remove bits of debris from his beard. Don’t ask. The water sloshes all over the floor before I can stop him. This mat soaks it right up.

Excellent front entry rug for our home. I of course ordered this because I am a dog lover! The size was somewhat bigger from other rugs I have used at my entry and I like that it was. Cute as well as functional!.

This is a perfect mat for my front door. I live on a dirt road in the high desert, so dust and dirt are a problem. This mat cleans off the bottoms of shoes and boots just great. The design is cute because I have a service dog and the mat alerts guests there is a dog in the house.

We love our new front door mat. Made from natural coconut fibers is a big environmental benefit too. It did have a couple of imperfections but hey, what would you expect it’s made from coconut husks.

I bought this mat for the front door for the Fall season. Such a cute pattern! However, upon stepping on it a few times the material got smushed and damaged, making it look cheap. I would suggest putting it in a low traffic area, like a side door, instead of at the front door.

These mats are quite attractive, especially the color is just right for my porch and front door. My porch is covered, so the rugs do not get direct weather. The mats are rather thin–not like some of the very thick mats one can buy.

But I think they are just right for my needs! A pretty addition!.

Seems to be doing well on our front porch. Although it is completely protected from rain, it gets full afternoon/evening sun. No fading!

These are great! I have been trying to find rugs to use where they don’t move and are durable. We have a family member who uses a walker and these rugs stay put. I have ordered three more since ordering one!.
