I was searching for a hands free product that would allow me to bring my Papillons along for scooter rides. This carrier is amazing! I put in my 8lb female (smaller of the two) and it was very comfortable to wear.

The product is nicely made and softer than I expected. She didn’t show signs of being uncomfortable either. I can’t wait for spring!.

I dont recommend this item because it tells you in the description that is going to be a rolling tool box but its not. Its just an organizer box which is the one that goes on top of that rolling one

Purchased so that my 100 pound Akita would quit stealing our Static V’s from us while we were sleeping. The bed is a more durable material than the Static V Insulated and he hasn’t managed to puncture it with his claws.

The cover is durable and feels comfortable. The size is just large enough for his 100 pound frame, he hangs off of it when he stretches out but fits nicely when he’s curled up. Although I haven’t slept on it the dog says that it’s comfortable and he prefers it to sleeping on the hard ground.

Only downside is that it is a little heavy for backpacking, but worth it if you don’t want the pup stealing your air mattress. All around a good durable pad.

Picked this up for our 35lb Chonk Beagle who insists on “digging” aggressively on anything he plans to sleep on and he cannot damage the cover on this thing. Easy to inflate, THANK YOU for making the stuff sack big enough for a normal person to get the deflated pad and cover back into easily and quickly no matter how it’s rolled or folded or smushed.

We use this in our tent and the dog loves it and I love it because it’s easy to use and can take abuse.

I bought this for my dog for a backpacking trip. It is small and lightweight. I inflated it by blowing into the “inflate” hole and made sure it was sealed. Within an hour it was mostly deflated. For the remainder of the week it served as a nice soft suggestion for where my dog should sleep.

I inflated it every night and every morning it was completely flat.

I am 74 years old being walked by two rescued dogs, Thunder, weighing in at 100lbs, and Tulip at 50lbs. Thunder is Bull Mastiff, Dane, and Pit. Long legs and massive! Little Tulip is Shepherd, Hound, and Coyote, street smart and Alpha! Once a week I take them to the mountains where they run free for four hours.

During the week I walk them around the block. A few months back walking the dogs on collars I was day dreaming and suddenly a small dog appeared ahead. Both of my dogs lunged at the same time, I tried backing up into a driveway but they had the edge pulling me down a hill.

Over I went falling forward onto the pavement, blistering my hands, and smashing my knee so hard that it tore a hole in my jeans! Ding-Bloody-Dong!! I was a bloody mess. At 74 I can’t risk falling again.

I bought the Web Master Dog Harness with Handle, and the Hitch-Hiker leash for Thunder. And a Front Range harness for Tulip. For the next month while I was recovering, I re-trained the dogs in our back yard.

The Web Master Harness is a great fit, secure and supportive with handle. Along with the Hitch-Hiker leash around my waist secured to the V-Ring on top of the harness, I feel safe in knowing I have more control and power from my hip.

I also attach a second leash to a Martingale collar on Thunder to use as a training tool. I wear the Hitch-Hiker leash upside down so that the HitchLock Rope Adjuster is on my right hip as I walk Thunder on my right and Tulip on my left.

When there is any sign of danger I pull the rope in shortening the leash, and if need be take hold of the harness handle for maximum control. For these last three months this combination has worked beautifully.

I will not be pulled over again! Thunder is now five years old and I realize that as he gets older it will become increasingly more difficult to lift his front right leg to place into the Web Master Dog Harness.

So I am looking at Ruffwear Flagline Dog Harness with Handle, and easy on/off without having to lift his leg. Also the Flagline has a front chest Leash Attachment to control his pulling which will help when I no longer use his Martingale Training Collar! My only complaint is that such beautiful equipment is shipped in a thin plastic bag that easily splits in mail transit exposing the equipment.

We love using our Hitch Hiker leash. We use it when hiking, and as a tie out at campsites or while eating outside at restaurants. While hiking, we allow our dog the maximum length most of the time. When we are passing other hikers and dogs, it is easy to pull the end and shorten the leash.

The end of the leash not attached to the dog dangles until we are ready to extend the leash again — we give him the release command and hold down the button on the HitchLock and the leash extends as he is walking forward.

We only wrap it up and put it in the pouch when we will be walking him on a short leash for longer periods of time. We also use it for neighborhood walks! It took a little bit of practice at first, but leash management is not any harder than using any other 15-foot leash (we don’t use retractable leashes).

We put our ruffwear treat pouch on the belt too! My only concern is that the rope can get really dirty, especially when hiking in wet/muddy conditions, and I don’t know if that will damage the HitchLock over time.

I occasionally soak the rope to try to get as much dirt out of it as I can! Overall, we love this product though.

I was so excited for this leash and had such high hopes! My phone is too big for the hip pocket of my hiking pack so I normally wear a fanny pack to hold that, in addition to a dog waist leash. I thought this would combine those two needs, but unfortunately the fanny pack is tiny and does not have room to hold anything other than excess leash.

The strap that goes around your waist is too thin, so if your dog pulls at all it digs in and will leave a rash and bruises. I do like that the clip locks the leash at a certain length, but it is extremely difficult to shorten the leash, especially if you are trying to do so quickly.

An off leash dog approached my dog on a trail and my dog got scared and started pulling. I had to grab the rope to reel it in, but it was super hard to pull with my dog pulling on the other end and I got rope burn on my hands.

We are obsessed with ruffwear and normally love their products, but sadly this is not a usable product for us. May reconsider in the future if the fanny pack is bigger so it can hold a few items, and if there is an easier way to reel in the leash.

I purchased this pack to use as a day-hike alternative to my Approach Pack. With a smaller capacity, it seemed like a good option for shorter, less technical hikes. I also was curious to try out the updated design features and compare it to the older style Approach Pack.

The biggest draw for me was the chest stabilizer, which was a great call on the part of Ruffwear. However, it should be noted, that while the chest stabilizer is a great feature, it makes the pack less adjustable.

My dog measures 30cm in circumference at the widest part of his ribcage which places him squarely in the medium pack according to Ruffwear’s sizing chart. However, Ruffwear should also be taking into account the distance from the widest part of the ribcage, along the dog’s belly, to the center of the dog’s chest (just below where the collar sits.

(This is where the chest stabilizer spans. ) This distance for deep chested dogs is greater than the average dog. In the Approach Pack this distance is adjustable. However, in the Front Range, this distance is not adjustable due to the chest stabilizer.

This means that the girth strap cuts into my dog’s armpits because the strap is pulled too far forward by the chest stabilizer. For these packs that have a built in chest stabilizer, I recommend that Ruffwear switch its sizing to a measurement from the bottom of the ribcage to where the dog’s collar rests on its chest.

This will prevent sizing issues like the one I am running into I also was a little surprised at the lack of padding on the straps compared to the Approach Pack. I have actually taken the rear strap from my Approach Pack and have changed it out for the one on this pack because they are so inadequate.

The padding only spans a couple inches and leaves ample room for chaffing. This is a major reason why I am giving this pack 3 stars. It’s never a good idea to remove features that center around comfortability.

Overall this pack is a great attempt at a new design, but the sizing and comfortability need to catch up to the vision. Overall.

I got the L/XL size and it can fit a lot more than I expected, and I’ve been using it for two-night backpacking trips. I tie her Ruffwear sleeping mat on the top with a bungee and there’s enough room to carry her food, treats, water, Ruffwear bowls, Front Range harness, Knot a Hitch, Fido Pro (emergency dog carrying sling), and that Ruffwear stick toy.

I even attach a wet-bag to the side to put her poo bags in to hike out (friendly reminder, there’s no such thing as the forest poop bag fairy to clean up the bags dropped on the trails). The navy color is nice, and when the pack weight is balanced it stays put quite well and I can keep the harness straps pretty loose – she doesn’t seem to notice the pack at all, other than she starts acting like she’s “working” and is so focused lol.

WISHES: I wish the pack came off/could be bought as a Front Range Harness accessory so when we are at camp she could just wear the Front Range Harness, instead of me having to pack one separately. However, I get that this is meant as a day pack even though it can carry enough for overnights.

I also wish there was a waterproof lining or waterproof pack option so I don’t have to take her pack off every time we cross a stream because she likes to lay it in to cool off before we continue. It does dry off pretty quickly though and has drainage holes, but then everything inside is wet too lol.

PSA: I really wish they’d mention this on their pack product pages because it’s really important: a very fit dog trained to carry a large pack on different hiking terrains, that also has the correct body shape for it (big square like a Pyrenees), can carry a max of 25% of its body weight.

My dog fits the criteria, is 105lbs, and I have her carrying about 10lbs and wouldn’t want to do more than 20lbs to be safe (haven’t needed to carry more than 10lbs yet). Also your dog shouldn’t be carrying ANYTHING until all joint development is complete, I waited 2 years for my giant breed to finish all growth before putting a pack on her.

Won’t take quite so long for smaller breeds. Don’t damage your dog’s back and joints!.

I ordered two of these backpacks, in both sizes, for my two pups, 40 and 60 lbs, respectively. The smaller pack doesn’t hold much, some supplies and treats. The Big Baxter I’m able to pack with a day’s worth of water for both of them.

I love these packs and both dogs are happy to wear them. Kurgo advertises eight adjustment points. USE THEM ALL! Backpacks should fit snug. Loose backpacks sway, which causes chafing. The bags themselves I moved up as close as I could to the dog’s spine to avoid unnecessary swinging.

I conditioned my dogs over the course of several weeks, increasing weight and adjusting straps as necessary to make sure both stayed well and comfortable, checking for indentions from a too tight pack and raw places from chafing.

We found our sweet spot relatively quickly and we’ve had zero issues with several day hikes. Once it’s adjusted, it stays there! They can run and also rest while wearing these packs. One of my dogs has a strong prey drive and this pack keeps her focused and on trail.

And while it’s important to balance the two sides, a couple of pounds difference isnt a big deal in this pack as long as it’s properly fitted. I’ve used other packs where that wasn’t the case, and also packs that needed constant adjusting.

I use zip ties to secure the loose length of strap. One of my dogs is a pitbull so has very little hair, and she’s had no issues with rubbing or hair loss. I keep medical tape in her pack along with a towel so I can dry her off if she gets wet to help protect her skin, but so far so good! It seems durable, I’ve seen no fraying or seams tearing.

I’m happy to recommend this pack!!.

My mom just took me on a 125 mile backpack trip. I carried my own bowl, my food for the day, and a couple of other things. I am 60 pounds and tall and leggy (and very cute if I say so myself) and I was not sore at all!! She got me this pack because it had some back support.

The straps didn’t rub me at all since they are back out of my armpits. And once when a huge elk ran right in front of us, so grabbed the handle and kept me from running like I thought I might like to.

We did try a harness under it the first day so she could keep me on the leash, and it worked Ok, but that rubbed my arm pits so she just had to use a collar for the rest of the trip. She didn’t want me to carry more than a couple of pounds, but I bet I could have, especially if we walked less than 25 miles a day! Just be gentle with the zippers, that’s the weak link on this pack.

I love this pad. I’ve bought numerous brands of pads for my service dogs over the decades looking for the perfect pad and was never happy with what I found until the Highlands Pad. Service dogs are expected to “under” when in public, especially when they’re big dogs, so that they’re out of the way: under tables, under benches, under chairs, etc.

Under is usually a grimy place, especially by the end of the day. My service dog’s pad needs to be reasonably comfortable, light in color (so that people, like wait staff can see him and not accidentally step on him) and not retain the debris that was under the table.

It also should fold or roll up small compact enough that I can carry in in a small tote with one hand because my other hand is on my dog’s harness. It also has to hold up to being washed day in and day out.

This pad does all that perfectly. For a pet owner who doesn’t necessarily bring their dog out into grimy locations, this comfortable pad blocks moisture (both moisture from the ground if you use it outside or while camping, and moisture from a wet dog or an accident from reaching the floor – within reason).

It’s easy to toss into a backpack. It’s comfortable and warm on cold days. Medium and large are both generously sized. My large GSD curls up to on the medium just fine, although the large fits him better.

I use mine virtually every day and although, the pads are rotating through the laundry all the time, they show almost no signs of wear.

Starting off its well made. Good materials and stitching and its dog claw resistant. As far as a pad to put down so your pup isnt laying on dirty, hard ground it definitely gets that job done. Took it out hiking and my dog gravitated to it for laying down if I pulled it out.

She definitely likes it and went straight to it as her pad If that is what you are looking for the definitely get it. Its not expensive will provide a decent amount of comfort on roots/rocks and keep their fur from picking up stuff.

If you’re backpacking Id likely pass on it. They recommend it for an insert for the sleeping bag but I dont think its worth it. Not the cost, again its quality for the cost. Its the size/weight. Its very thin and closed cell foam rubber so its not really going to provide any real R value.

Its also not that compressible. Ill probably put it in a compression sack but I think that is going to break up the foam rubber inside pretty quickly. If you’re really looking to gain thermals and are OK with something not that packable maybe keep an eye out for a used Thermarest SoLite or Z Lite pad and cut it down.

Youll get a thicker/firmer pad and more thermal insulation. Please Ruffwear explore or partner with to get something like a ProLite pad to go with your sleeping bag. Im carrying a shorty for her now but something fitted to the bag would be ideal.

A real R value and Id think the insert size would pack as small as a nalgene.

Both dogs instantly took to the pads when I placed them next to my sleeping bag inside the tent. Seemed to help keep them insulated from the cold Colorado mountain ground. I used this pad in conjunction with your Powder Hound jacket.

Shake down packing trip had lows of about 40 degrees, no problem for either dog. My only complaint, if it is one, there is not a small size. My dogs weigh about 45 pounds each. The medium sizbed is more than large enough for one and almost both.

This size makes it difficult to stuff into a saddle bag type backpack. Both backpacks are also RuffWare bought 2 and 6 years ago.

Love the idea of this – it makes perfect sense for camping. Ruffwear products are always well made and this was no exception. Strong, I had 170lbs of dog on this and it held up even when the one tried to run after a squirrel.

Issues – too short! Where we camped there were plenty of trees, but we ended up having to move the car close enough to actual use this thing. The cost – while it’s well made, I still think it’s overpriced for what you get, especially when you need to provide your own leash to actual attach your dog.

Overall – great idea, but only good execution. For the price, I’d pass and just use rope.

Love the Knot a Hitch system for camping with our furry friend. It stores in a compact easy to carry pouch and the set up is easy. It seems to be well made and durable. This gives our dog the independence and safety he needs, especially if when are busy with setting up our campsite and can’t watch him every second.

This is a great product. VPO has an excellent website for online purchases and delivery was quick. very pleased overall.

It’s just what I wanted and needed. I have a begal hound and so having her stay close by is hard when we doing day trips and stopping for lunch. This is fantastic as I can put it up between two trees and she can go backwards and forwards to sniff and not get in the way.

I can sit and relax that she is not going to run off after a scent. She can’t chew it so that’s a big relief. Look forward to overnight trips to really get the full experience.

My 2 Pitbulls seem to enjoy this food. The one, my problem child, with skin issues, and allergies, along with hypothyroidism, and seizures, has had major improvements to his skin with this food. Many of the places with hair loss, have completely been restored! The only downfall, for me personally is that my boys, about age 11, seem to enjoy the food a little too much and over eat! Mainly, my problem child, although this could be due to other medical issues, and or the fact that they have always been allowed to eat freely.

When switching to this food, I just assumed free feeding wouldn’t be any different from other foods they have tried. But I think maybe the high protein in the food might just be a little too much compared to thier activity level.

The ingredients are of good quality. I like that is grain free, no artificial flavors or preservatives, no chicken by-product, the ingredients are what lead me to select this brand the first place. The weight gain is the only reason for my 4 star rating.

But other then that this food has been great and ive seen improvement. I wish it was available more often at my local tractor supply store.

Our 2. 5 yr old German Shepherd is extremely picky, always had to mix wet food in but he’ll eat this dry and it has helped his skin alot! Even the inside of his ears use to be red/pink, not anymore. He’d chew at his paws and his belly was red.

All better now. German Shepherds seem to have extremely sensitive skin (we’ve owned 2 others, it was a learning experience) and allergies to grains, especially corn and almost every dog food has corn.

Like I said he loves the taste and it’s great for his skin. He did still have some thick scales on his back but we put Vetrinary Formula clinical care spray on it and I rubbed/scratched it into his skin I haven’t heard him digging or scratching at all since.

Seems very comfortable. Of course obviously the best flea and tick meds last week. He’s extremely happy, full of energy. I know the food is expensive but it is worth it!.

I’m lab doggie mamma over 20 yrs. They’re our kids (for real we couldn’t have human children). We have 3 labs, 7 yrs (2) and one 3 yrs. They’ve been on Purina Sport their entire lives. One had recent medical event.

It triggered me to reconsider kibble. I’m an extremely thorough researcher on any issue religiously. This event prompted me to really dive into kibble which I had not done in bout 7 yrs. I spent hours and hours learning more about dog food than I care to admit.

I settled on Blue Buffalo Wilderness healthy weight large breed. Holy macaroni! All 3 went absolutely nutso for it!! I transitioned w old food for 12 days (not necessary but I had enough to do so). They’ve always been good eaters, but this was/is insane! They go bonkers and gobble up in nano sec!! Their poops r healthiest I’ve ever seen and as regular as regular could possibly be! Our oldest had put on few lbs.

After 2 weeks there was remarkable weight improvement in hips and belly – AMAZING! One of girls has constipation issue. She takes daily probiotic. This immediately made remarkable improvement for her bowels.

I’m super impressed! If you haven’t done kibble research or considered change in recent yrs, look no further and make change! I can save u time energy n research efforts! This is IT! Just do it!.

This is my dog’s favorite travel dog bed. I love it because it’s lightweight and portable; she loves it because it’s warm and comfy! We use it for all sorts of adventures, beyond camping and backpacking.

Because it packs up so easily, I bring it along any time we’re on the go. And the dogs really do love it. In fact, after my last camping trip with a friend, she had to buy one for her dog as soon as they got home, because all the dogs spent the whole trip trying to be the first one back to camp, so they could claim the sleeping bag! I use this and the Mount Bachelor Pad, which I also love.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I have a big dog who can drink a lot of water and have many things to bring on a long hike. My main attraction to this backpack was, if he had to, my dog, Trigger, could carry all his own stuff for a several day camping trip (besides more than about a day’s worth of water).

We often gets up early in the mornings for a day long hike and will return as the sun is setting, and I really appreciate that Trigger can carry all of his own stuff: water, a water bowl, drool towel, a snack, a tennis ball, a rain jacket, poop bags, etc.

Whatever he might need, he can carry, which is a huge relief for me since carrying both his water and stuff plus my water and stuff can be a LOT. We have used it for a short camping trip as well, a three day trip where we were able to carry in extra water and food from the car, and he was able to carry most of his own stuff (extra gear, leashes, and jackets).

If we went backpacking and then set up camp, I’m sure he could carry enough food and water for a day as well, maybe three if we had a source of water. The function of this bag is great too, it’s easy to remove things and offer him water or snacks or grab a poop bag from him when needed.

The handle is great and the design of the harness means I can pick him up and put him somewhere if I need to or if he’s being stubborn and won’t turn around for me (he sometimes gets annoyed with photos and will silently protest them, or on trails when he’s off leash, sometimes he likes to stop in the middle of the trail and block people who need to pass us).

It’s obviously not made to carry him for a long period of time but I have no doubt that in a pinch (say he got injured), the harness would allow me to carry him as needed, since it’s clearly of the highest quality.

Since the packs are removable, that means when it’s time to take a break, it’s a lot easier to relieve him of his load and keep the harness on, another key feature that drew me to this bag. Before a hike starts and after one is finished, I can take the packs off and let him relax in the car without the extra weight; if we take an extended break, I can also remove the packs and let him frolic.

It also kept me from having to buy one of the harnesses as well (he usually just uses his collar and leash), and now that I’ve used an actual harness, I can see the advantages in using one. I will still stick to my leash and collar the rest of the time, as that’s what works best for him, but in some scenarios like getting on a boat, it’s nice to know that the harness handle is there to pull him out of an unsafe situation.

With the adjustments of the harness, it has never not fit him which is saying something considering the both of us (me and Trigger) got massively out of shape over quarantine. We’re getting back in shape now and he’s loosing the extra fat pretty fast, regaining his lean form, but no matter what shape he was, the harness fit him perfectly.

No chaffing noticed from me and no sore spots on his end as best as I can tell. The water containers carry enough water for him for a whole day, which is something I was worried about not having enough of when getting a backpack for him.

Some of the downsides to this pack is that he does get a little hot. He doesn’t handle heat the best in general, preferring the winter just like me, but it does make it a bit harder to cool down for him.

Good thing though, that they make a cooling attachment for the harness that should counteract that if purchased. Another thing is that the sides can and do get a bit of wear and tear; my dog has bad spacial awareness to begin with (runs into people sometimes and doesn’t care) and being three times as wide means he brushes up against all kinds of sticks and rocks and whatever else is out in the world.

The only place that I’ve seen wear and tear is on the very lowermost outsides of the pack, but I am also aware that Trigger is particularly rough with it. The third thing is that even when just carrying his water, two liters of water (which is how much the provided water containers fit), can be pretty heavy, so as well as it fits and distributes weight and all that jazz, just know it’s entirely possible for your pup to get tired faster with the bag on.

I get tired faster with a backpack too, and his levels of energy have never dropped so low with the backpack that I’ve been concerned about it, but he does get tired faster. Ultimately, I’m sure with enough experience carrying the pack and with him back in shape, it will hardly hold him back in the future (not that it stops him now, Trigger loves to go go go and will even encourage me to go faster at times).

I recommend it if this sounds like what you’re looking for, if you’re not quite so hardcore nor ask as much of your own dog (or if they’re not willing to spend 6-8+ hours on a trail without extra weight) perhaps consider the smaller size packs.

Overall the best dog bag around if you’re serious about the outdoors!.

tl;dr: Detachable bags are awesome, harness is very comfortable, weight is well-distributed, plenty of room for food/snacks/bowls etc. , very durable. I got this harness because I wanted the detachable saddlebags.

They went above and beyond; not only do the saddlebags pop on and off easily, but the hole that surrounds the harness’s handle and leash hook is large enough to fit around the retractable leash I use, which means I don’t have to detach the leash at all when taking the bags off.

The harness itself seems to be very comfortable; Chani has no problems running around and performing tricks, even with a full pack. The weight seems well-distributed and supported; she hasn’t complained about it at all.

It’s also very durable; she’s very energetic, and it gets smacked around a lot, but hasn’t shown any sign of wear or tear. The material has been easy to clean, and it dries out fairly quickly. Chani loves drinking from the included water pouches.

On shorter hikes, I only fill them half full or so, and I alternate which one I use to keep the weight evenly distributed. The main bags are large enough to fit collapsible food and water bowls, as well as four days’ worth of her food plus treats.

I use the top pockets for her doggie bags, brush, and medicine (such as parasite prevention). We ramped up with baby steps (harness on, harness off, harness with empty pack, walk with harness, walk with backpack, then slowly adding weight).

Chani adapted very quickly, though she’s usually up for anything. This isn’t her daily harness (although it is comfortable enough to be that), so she gets excited every time she sees me holding it, because she knows there’s a long walk or hike coming.

I still keep room in my backpack to fit the bags in case she starts to slow down, but I haven’t had to. I do try to stay well under her weight limit and take breaks as necessary. Chani has a blast every time we go!.

I’ve had a palisades pack for about 5 years. When I got it, there were no other comparable packs like it on the market, so it was really the best (and only option) out there for serious hiking with your dog.

However, there are definite issues with the pack, that Ruffwear never resolved with newer versions: 1. There is very little protection from chaffing straps on the dogs underside. 2. The chest pad is extremely small and does not stabilize the pack on the dog.

It makes it tough to tighten straps so the pack is secure while also making sure the pack doesn’t chafe. I have purchased a brush guard, but I had to take apart some of the stitching and re-stitch it to make sure it fit to the pack correctly.

This is pretty ridiculous considering the brush guard is made for the pack. 3. Taking on and off the saddlebags is not quick, which means its hard to accommodate your dog during technical or narrow parts of a hike.

4. The back strap is poorly designed. It rests close to wear the dog pees and often gets urine on it. There are currently other lesser known packs on the market that are beating the Ruffwear Palisades pack at its game and are doing it for half the price (alpha pak EZ latch).

I’m in the market for a new Palisades, but since these issues are still not resolved after 5 years, I’m looking elsewhere.

I love Kurgo products and think they are great quality, but was disappointed in this harness. If you have a barrel chested dog and want to attach a leash to the front D ring (my pup is a puller, so that was the whole reason we bought this), I wouldn’t recommend this harness.

I have a 14 month old standard poodle (45 lbs) and we bought a medium as she fit smack dab in the middle of those measurements. Unfortunately, the harness just doesn’t fit deep-chested dogs. The neck opening is weirdly large and can’t be tightened very much so after adjusting the harness to fit her, the front D ring ended up right between her front legs.

We couldn’t attach a leash to the front ring because she would stumble over it while we walked. Seems like Kurgo could fix this pretty easily by just moving the front D ring higher to be closer to the neck opening, but unfortunately not easy to fix/solve the issue at home.

We’ll be donating this as it unfortunately doesn’t work for us.

I set this blind up at the end of September. I have hunted out of it several times and really like it. It is very roomy and big enough for me and my 2 nephews to hunt out of. I would have given it 5 stars, but here are some things I don’t like about it.

The stakes that come with it are not big enough or tough enough. I went out and bought long, thick stakes that now keep it in place. I also don’t like how the windows are slanted. When it rains, and it did, the rain pours into the windows whether they are open or not.

The windows need some sort of extension over them to keep out the rain. We had this blind staked down and all 6 sides tied to trees. This past week it snowed while we were in it hunting for deer. We took a walk and when my nephew went back to it there was snow on top of it.

He did not know to try and brush it off before unzipping the door. Unzip and down it crashed. Thankfully it did not rip and nothing broke. That was when I noticed the eye bolts on top, which we then tied to more trees to help keep it up.

I really do like the blind overall. I think it could use a few changes to make it better. I have taken it down since we have a big snow storm coming through this week and I did not want anything to happen to it.

Can’t wait to hunt out of it again.

This blind is plenty big for 2 even though it shows 4 people sat inside. Its plenty tough and durable. Been crushed twice now in 2 separate snow storms totally collapsed and bounced right back into shape like new after clearing snow and ice off.

No damages tears or punctures very durable. I purposely left it out to torture test it and it has held up better than expected. Even survived super high winds during the snow storms with proper staking.

Highly recommended to spray with water repellent.

Love these kits. I have the small kit that I keep in my truck at all times and then a larger kit that I always have with me when on big hikes as well as in my off-grid camping trailer. With 3 dogs, all of which have health issues (and are magnets for trouble) this is a must.

The only thing I wish was different was I wish these bags were insulated and a little bigger to leave space for meds that you may need/want to add for your specific pup. I have to carry some meds for all three of my monsters and in the summer it gets crazy hot.

Having insulation to keep them more temperature-controlled would be a nice addition.

I received this product a couple of weeks ago and it has came in handy for our camping gear. I have three adventurous dogs who love the outdoors. I have had to rig up bandages and gear for them but this is so much better.

Each product in this kit is well thought out for what you may need for a camping or hiking trip with your dogs. I may not need all of it at once but it gives me peace of mind knowing that it is right there at the ready if I do need it.

Each product seems durable which is necessary with these type of items. The bag also comes in handy to store everything and keep it in a safe place that is also easily accessible. It is pretty light and has handles which makes it nice for clipping on to my dogs hiking vest.

I am also pleased with the first aid handbook because sometimes I am not sure what to do in certain instances. Overall, this product is great if you are active with your dogs and is easy to just keep in the car.

With the addition of a new furry friend to our family we felt we needed to be better prepared for the potential dangers that the great outdoors present to the dog. Although pricey – we did fork over the money to buy this robust medical supply.

And don’t let the title fool you – this kit is PERFECTLY equipped to deal with human injury as well. So much so that we feel comfortable leaving behind our own first aid kit which we’ve packed for 10 years.

We are active in the outdoors spending most weekends during any given summer camping in dispersed camping sites throughout the US national forests and park systems and with that – plenty of potential scenarios for our little pup to get herself in trouble.

And this kit has come in handy it’s fair share of times already. By far the most valuable part of this is the field guide to K9 first aid. Reading through it gives you a great knowledge of what to do in emergency situations if you’re not near an emergency vet.

I could see it being an invaluable resource in the event of an emergency and have referenced it several times to understand what our options are and how best to treat a given situation that we’ve encountered (swollen face from being stung, removing ticks and treating a pretty nasty attack of black fly bites).

I feel very confident that we can handle anything we come up against with our four legged family member when equipped with this first aid kit. Well worth the money for the peace of mind we now have when traveling in unknown areas around the country.

I used the size chart to order a SMALL for my 16 pound pug who is under 15″ long and has a girth of under 20″. The backpack is long and narrow and fits her like a sausage casing. The armholes are small and constricting and, with her arms also raised straight up, I’m concerned that her circulation will be quickly cut off.

I’m a small woman, so I can tighten the shoulder straps enough to ALMOST get the dog looking forward over my shoulder. (It would be even better if it also had a belt. ) On a larger person, with the shoulder straps lengthened, the dog ends up tilted back, looking straight at the sun (if you prefer to walk upright, not leaning forwards like the models in the photos).

This pack might work well for a smaller skinnier dog? Maybe it is unsuited to the pug body type or would fit my dog better in a larger size (hopefully with bigger armholes). There is NO WAY any animal weighing 30 pounds would fit in this thing.

I am so disappointed. I measured and remeasured my puppy to be sure I was getting the correct size and I have tried to use the backpack three times on short walks around my neighborhood but it is SO uncomfortable! He fits in it but the actual backpack straps are so small that is it almost impossible to get him on my back.

Once I do get him up, (there is a lot of swinging involved which he obviously doesn’t like), and I tighten the backpack straps down so he is snug to my back then the adjuster plastic clips are digging into my arm pits because the padded part of the straps are so short.

I am not a large woman, but also not tiny. We are supposed to go camping and hiking next month and I do not think I can bear the discomfort of using this backpack. I also really cannot afford for it to go to waste while I look for another backpack.

The second I got this pack in the mail I opened it, put my 19 pound 17in long schnauzer in it, and went for a walk. He is beefy since we live on a farm and spend our days outside running around. However when we want to go hiking he gets anxious to be in a new environment.

I noticed last time when I picked him up he calmed right down. He wasn’t too hard to put in the medium pack and on the second try, after we came in from the walk, I was able to get him in by myself. He seemed to really like it and was content to let me do all the work.

Lol! The straps are sturdy and very adjustable. There seems to be a lot of care put into making the dog comfortable. The chest strap is fine and overall I like the pack! I can’t wait for our adventures with it!.

I’ve now had this backpack in my house for two weeks. It STILL has a very strong chemical smell to it (from the foam in the bottom maybe?). The design is nice and sturdy; the frame doesn’t collapse like other brands I’ve read about.

I have no problem with the straps or the way the pack sits on my back, even when weighted – and I’m a *ahem* very well-endowed woman. Here’s what I would change: the top mesh piece hangs down into the carrier when unzipped, but should be able to velcro flat to the back wall of the carrier so that the fuzzy passenger can peep out the top easily (there is a leash-like strap anchored inside, so that fuzzy passenger won’t leap out).

Also, while I like the tear-resistant mesh, it makes it tough for fuzzy passenger to see the big beautiful world out there, hence my desire for her to be able to peep out the top. I don’t think I’d use the carrier without the front mesh zippered closed (see picture) because I don’t think my fuzzy passenger would feel safe being that exposed and much more likely to fall or jump out – even with the aforementioned leash.

She does like to play in the carrier in the comfort of the living room while the “front door” of the carrier is open and rolled up. Overall, if you can afford to spend more money on a carrier with one of those clear, window-bubbles in the front, do that.

If not, this is a good, less expensive alternative.

this carrier is amazing! I ended up using it to drive cross country with my cat and she loved it! she’s pretty petite so she had enough space to stand up and stretch but spent most of the time just curled up sleeping.

the mesh is pretty thick so it was hard to see her through it, usually I would just unzip it a little to peek at her, but I think that’s part of why she liked it so much – it’s pretty dark in there all zipped up which probably made her feel safe, but the multiple mesh openings let her see around her easily.

as a backpack it is fantastic, the buckles on the front made it super stable and not shaky while I walked around and also took some of the weight off my shoulders and made it more comfortable for me to carry.

I love that it has multiple openings too, I usually pick my cat up and put her in through the top and then let her venture out on her own through the front which seems to work well. it was definitely worth the money, it’s super sturdy and well made and my cat loves it, I leave it out in my room and sometimes she naps in it like it’s a covered bed! definitely recommend if you’re on the hunt for a good backpack carrier.
