Best Desk For Working From Home (2023 Updated)

It’s a sturdy desk that’s easy to put together. In the month that I’ve used it, I’ve hade no scrapes or scratches on the desktop surface. No signs of sag so far. There’s a bar across the underside of the desktop which helps make it sturdier.

It’s a purchase I don’t regret, and recommend. If you have the extra money, I’d definitely go with this over an Ikea Batlestation.

I am very pleased with this desk. The finish on it is really swell and I love the color. It’s a beautiful piece for my home office, and I was able to put it together myself with little trouble (except for standing it upright; I needed a helping hand for that final bit).

If you need a desk that has space for both your desktop computer and printer with LOTS of room to spare, this desk will meet your needs nicely.

Was much heavier than I expected. Good for durability. Bad for assembly difficulty. Also was disappointed with damage during transit to left corner of desk. see photo. Any suggestions for fixing would be welcome.

Too much effort to return item!.

I purchased the desk and two matching cabinets. I was reluctant because the prices were suspiciously low and the online reviews were horrible with regard to assembly. I don’t get that as my cabinets were already assembled except for the hardware and the desk took no time to put together.

Online reviews also complained about the hardware but that too was good. Not plastic, really nice. My only issue is the laminate shows fingerprints and scratches easily but I can make it work. Recommend.

Great desk! We were looking for one that would accommodate 2 computers and 2 office chairs so that it would match our current office desks but give us flexibility for additional use- i. e. as a sewing or project table.

We set it up to make this a desk/project table between our other 2 desks which sit along side the wall on either end of this making it a U Shape between all three. It has given us exactly what we need without being so bulky as another regular desk would have been.

This is slender but long! An excellent purchase for us and what we need!.

The desk is fantastic, and I also got the corner one that goes beside it. The only problem is that there are 4 screws that are almost impossible to screw in. This isn’t OK, and needs to be rectified.

I’m fortunate that I found someone to help me screw them in, and one even had to be done with a power drill even though we aren’t supposed to use those on this product. There was no choice.

Overall review- Excellent A must buy if you want to use this desk for work, study, etc. This desk is very strong and can hold a lot of your personal items. This desk can be placed next to the wall. It is perfect for adults and teenagers.

Pros – Compartments There are four drawers, one top shelf ,and three dividers. These beautiful pieces have lots of drawers and compartments. It is deep enough to hold books and files The top shelf of the desk is good for placing pens, notebooks, and stationery supplies.

It is made of solid wood, very sturdy and of good quality. Great for organizing. Cons- Installation. There are many pieces of wood and nails. The instructions can be time consuming and confusing. Please make sure you are handy enough or have someone help you to install this desk.

I had my dad install this desk himself and it took him two days to finish. Tips: Make sure you measure the space before ordering the table so that it will fit well in your home.

Ill start with the negatives of this desk:The edges of the work surface are fairly sharp. Theres no radius to them or anything. The large mat privided with the desk keeps your wrist and arms from being on the sharp edge of the desk, but this could have been beveled.

The weird controller stand/usb hub thing is hokey at best. I tried using it as a hub off of my motherboard but it wont connect any devices or charge them through the stand. I dont know if the stand is defective or if they intend for you to plug it into the wall as a charging dock only.

Theres nothing in any of the instructions about it and it comes with a usb plug in. Either way, it just seems like it would take up space. The box looked like it was used as a door mat at some point.

It specifically says do not step on on the box, but it had 2 different shoe prints on it. Dont know if fedex did that or the manufacturer, but either way i was surprised that nothing was damaged. The pros:The instructions are good and assembly was simple.

Maybe took 15 minutes from unboxing to upright and ready to go. They provide the allen wrench hex key with a ball end and a magnetized philips screw driver for you. The hardware is mostly separated and easy to identify.

The mat for the top surface is much nicer than I expected. I had planned on using my Steel Series mat from my previous desk but opted to just use the one provided as it feels very similar. The packaging was pretty good, and the fact that it arrived undamaged after being used as a door mat is a testament to that.

There is a lot of styrofoam in the box and it is packaged pretty tightly with little room for wiggle with all the parts in the box. The corners of the desk top surface also have some plastic caps on them to protect them in shipping which is a nice forethought.

Im able to fit my dual 27 monitor set up, speakers, a small lamp, keyboard and mouse, and flight stick and throttle on the desk with plenty of room to spare. Overall I would highly recommend thi.

Im pleased with this desk. The construction is very good but not perfect. If youre looking for the sturdiest, longest lasting desk and weight and cost are not a factor, avoid MDF entirely and go for a single piece solid wood desktop.

If you dont need a desk deeper than 24 you can also find better deals. I personally valued the dimensions and mouse pad enough to spend the small premium on this product. The instructions are not great, just pictures, with a couple spots that are not quite clear enough.

It is well packaged. It includes a good quality screwdriver and a crappy 4mm allen wrench – I used my own allen wrench and didnt bother even trying the included one. It included at least one extra of each screw type.

I can confidently say that the reviewers complaining about stability have either got defective parts or, more likely, assembled it wrong. So here are some assembly notes:While assembling any product but especially important for MDF:- Never tighten fasteners as tight as possible, you will crush the MDF.

– Tighten each fastener a little bit at a time. I estimate that for each bolt I returned to it four times – initially just tight enough to barely clamp the parts together, then after all bolts are installed I tightened each a turn or two, then repeated each bolt fraction of a turn at a time.

This approach lets you ensure parts are aligned and prevents crushing the MDF on one side. – Correct tightness is hard to convey through text but if youre new to assembly, you can try this rule of thumb for the bolts in step 1, 2 and 3, and use a similar tightness for subsequent steps: Stop when you hear the first bit of crunching noise from the MDF.

You can then tighten it a quarter turn more but no further. Notes on specific installation instruction steps:- Step 1: The diagram is not clear here. Youre screwing two brackets to hold the two halves together.

I suggest the ridges face away from the surface, I think if the ridges are touching the surface it will causer som.

The product arrived on time and I was excited to set it up. Overall it took me about 2 hours to complete the entire setup and align on my cables with some organisers I had ordered to get a clean look.

It is a one man job although two people might be needed for final assembly and setting up as it’s quite a big table. All tools are included and the instructions are pretty clear. However, I would have liked it if the bags they came in were either numbered or had alphabets to easily recognize the parts as well.

The quality is quite good. The table top is manufactured wood but seems to be of good quality and has a nice design to it. The included mouse mat which covers the entire table gives it a very clean look and one does not have to worry about scratches smudges fingerprints on the surface.

The legs are quite sturdy however some of the plastic included could have been of higher quality. Cable management seems to have been an afterthought but it still provides some respite when compared to others where it is non existent.

I would have liked some cable ties or sleeves included which would have prompted me to give this awesome table a 5 stars. All in all it is well worth the money and serves my purpose very well. Due to the cable management and quality of plastic parts, I am going to give this a 4 stars.

The desk design is good and it has plenty of surface I am using two monitors side by side plus my laptop and there is still plenty of space left. Also it is easy to assemble. The only (big) downside is that when it arrived it had several scratches in the top part.

I fixed them using the included marker. But within the two weeks that I have been using the desk it got scratched in several places especially on top which makes the desk very bad looking. Our other desk that we bought last year from another store hasn’t been damaged at all compared to this one.

I don’t recommend it and I would return it if I can.

I have been looking for the right desk for a long time and I have finally found it. I have two printers in the bottom and paper supplies in the top. My 23 inch screen and printer are on the top along with mouse & keeboard.

Purchased this desk for my work-from-home use. I was making due with a smaller desk, but I needed additional room. This has plenty of space for my computer, extra monitor, books, and even lunch! I am so glad I bought it.

It doesn’t take up much more space and it was easy to put together. Everything was well labeled with easy instructions. I did it by myself in about an hour. Highly recommend.

I really love this desk. and I don’t say that very often. It’s the exact color and style that I was looking for to match the style of my home office (pronounced living room). The desk is incredibly sturdy and I really appreciate the clean look.

At first glance, there’s no way for anyone to tell that the surface isn’t made of real wood. An even bigger plus is the fact that I saved a lot of money purchasing it from Walmart. A similar desk was offered on another furniture website (I actually think it was the same one offered under a different brand) for $100 more expensive.

Got the biggest version at 62 inches wide. The extra space was great for my software engineering setup which includes two 27-in monitors. Easy setup. Assembled out in the family room then carried it through the 30-in office door, standing on its side (desk depth around 25-in).

Did final screw tightening once I had the desk placed. Solid desk all around.

Was going to buy a generic table from desk solution sites but then thought of checking if jbhifi there was a solution for my needs. Turned out to be a more than perfect solution for my needs. Gaming desks generally do not do this well and the product description does not do it justice.

1. It included four stabilisation floor sockets for uneven surfaces (very nice) 2. It included a very good quality screwdriver (yeah that’s right. all the tools required to assemble the table were in it) 3.

The cable management/slot stand was surprisingly stable. 4. The mouse pad quality is ridiculously large and good for what I paid 5. The cup holder and headphone holder were nice additions. Thank you.

Have to careful with the placement if kids are around. 6. The plastic cover around the metal floor and corners are definitely not gimmicks. At least someone had the brains to make it a bit kid friendly.

This desk for the price, was easy to assemble (clear instructions), it sits at a decent height. The LED lights work well and cable management was easy. I will just say the only thing I’ve noticed is that the black desk leaves finger print smudges everywhere and having a cat that likes to sit on it while I’m gaming just adds to the issue.

Otherwise I think it’s a good size desk, it doesn’t take up too much space, no real complaints. I didn’t use the mouse pad or champion stickers as I thought they looked a bit tacky but that’s just my personal preference.

Very nice gaming table. Took about 45 minutes to put together. All screws lined up. With a touch of a button you can change the color of the lights to five different ones or alternating. Turns off when your pc is shutdown for it hooks up via USB.

There is a YouTube instructional video available for putting it together too which sped up the time. Though the printed instructions were not bad. The cup holder rules. Held in well with two screws. I can actually have a full mug of beer fit in it snug!.

I purchased this desk as my old computer desk was giving up the ghost (it was 25 years old and was made for the first smaller computer/typewriter set-up). The one that I really wanted hasn’t been available since the plandemic and so I purchased this one instead.

The ‘fit and finish’ of this was exceptional, no scratches and everything tended to fit a lot better than I normally experience. Positives: The instructions are generally well written and packaging the parts by each step was a time-saver.

Very well packaged and damage resistant. Could use work: Glue, it’s good, but the instructions should give some indication of just much of the dowel should be sticking up to make a good fit (I put it in half and didn’t slide it all the way down the hole because I felt that it wouldn’t make for a nice fit when the other part came together – I was correct) Top was warped, so much so that my wife had to practically sit on the top to get it flat enough to fasten all of the cam screws tight into their cams.

I was able to get it fastened. Overall if I could have, I would have given this a 4 ¾ star rating, but I just couldn’t bring myself to giving it a ‘5’. Since I don’t believe it’s really fair to ‘rate’ the desk based on the fact that this wasn’t my first choice, my rating doesn’t reflect any shortcomings of the desk as I knew there would be some things that I was compromising in order to get this desk, though I will mention that I believe, as others have said, that the ‘tower space’ should have had the option of having a shelf w/pegs in the event that you didn’t need a place for a tower.

Another thing that people should be aware of on that space, if you do put your tower in there, be aware that it gets *very* warm and that it *will* radiate into the drawer above, so don’t put anything in the drawer that’s sensitive to heat in there, it will be cooked! The instructions do state that you must keep the door open when the tower is running.

In retrospect, I should have either skipped putting the back panel in that space and let it get more air or put the tower on top of the desk (though I wouldn’t have liked that as much).

I bought this desk about 2 weeks ago and assembled it a few days after purchasing it. I was a little intimidated by all of the parts and pieces, but it was a piece of cake after I got started. It did take about 6 hours to assemble, but that timeframe did include a few breaks and phone calls.

Also, I purposely went slowly to avoid mistakes. There was one part where I connected two large brackets to the bottom part of the desktop that are used for the sliding keyboard tray. Either I misunderstood the instructions, or the instructions were not super clear for that part.

I installed the brackets incorrectly. Luckily, it was very easy to correct my mistake even after the desk was fully assembled. I assembled the desk by myself, but having a second set of hands would have been helpful.

There were two, maybe three steps involved where I would have benefited from having a second set of hands, but I managed to handle it myself. One assembly tip is to not screw screws super tight. The particle-board-type material may be damaged that way.

Screw screws sufficiently tight of course but don’t over do it. My only complaint about this desk (and it’s not the desk’s fault – I should have been more aware when purchasing), but my only complaint is I wish it had a better cord management system.

I need to do something to better manage various cords and cables. Overall though, I am happy with my purchase. I would purchase this product again. Good fit, finish, and utility for an item in this product category.

I particularly like the desktop. The leatherette type material provides an attractive finish, and it functions as a mousepad.

I was intimidated by the fact that it took three of us to haul the box up the stairs, and even more so when I opened and unpacked the 7,218 pieces (I kid. ). But it actually assembles very smoothly. Great assembly instructions and all hardware is bagged and separated by step, so it’s idiot-proof (something I needed).

I was pleasantly surprised that the drawer slides were already attached to the panels, so that was not something I was responsible for doing. Yay! I took my time, made sure each screw went in straight, and still somehow the middle drawer is slightly crooked, which means the top drawer has to be lifted to close.

Now, I didn’t install the drawer slides, they came pre-installed, so I couldn’t have done that wrong. And it’s all level (I checked). So, that’s the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, it’s a great desk.

Drawers slide easily, the file drawer has a good solid ‘click’ to close (since it’s heavy, that’s a good thing), keyboard drawer is a good size for both keyboard and mouse, and it’s just a good, solid desk.

Took about four and a half hours to put together alone. I did not use a drill (instructions say that’s a no-no), just a Phillip’s-head screwdriver, so my hands are now just about dead. Totally worth it, though.

I couldn’t wait to receive this desk and I have never been more disappointed with an item in my life. Looks NOTHING like the photo. First, it’s gray not light brown. Secondly, it has huge black marks all over it.

I’m assuming this is because the manufacturer wanted to make the wood look distressed but instead it just looks like a toddler took a sharpie and drew all over it. Terrible purchase. False advertising.

I purchased this desk on sale. I needed a thin desk to fit in a specific space to use for my 7 year old child. This desk has a very simple design, but is perfect for what I needed. We recently moved cross country and have had to put together numerous furniture items.

This piece by far had the BEST instructions I’ve come across. Even better than a $2000 smoker/grill. The parts are all clearly labeled. The hardware is smartly packaged. The pictures are clear. I easily put it together myself.

It is not solid wood, but for the price that was expected. We were very pleased.

The desk, once assembled, is everything I wanted it to be. It’s sleek and modern with a nice dark espresso finish and it feels nice and sturdy. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. But building it was a bit of a nightmare.

There are little to no written instructions; instead there are illustrated diagrams showing how you are supposed to put the thing together and you have to go carefully and slowly. The top and sides of the desk are ultimately cinched together with large locking screw caps (as it standard for most build it yourself furniture these days), but I broke at least 5 of them trying to get the thing together because they wouldn’t tighten, they’d just spin and spin.

and then suddenly they’d break. I bought some sturdier ones and the local hardware store, and that did the trick, but there was also debate of having to drill into the metal legs and underside of the desk to attach some corner brackets because for a while we just couldn’t get the sides attached.

Overall, take it slow and be prepared to buy some sturdier pieces to aid with assembly. In the end, you’ll have a nice desk.

I needed something to fit into a cramped space in my new apartment and this fit the bill perfectly. The build quality is so solid that I can easily see myself using it for at least ten years. Its not particularly attractive but at this price point youre going for function over form.

Pay attention during assembly! I missed a step and nearly wound up puncturing the desk surface with the longest screw in the package. Totally my fault, but still an easy mistake to make.

I was concerned about shipping as big, heavy pieces like this are notoriously bad at surviving careless shipping, but to my surprise the piece was well packaged and came completely intact. The desk is beautiful and matches a number of other Realyn pieces we have.

It is of the typical Asley Furniture build quality and required a few minor tweaks for the functioning of the drawers. Like most of their products it is not intended for you to look under the pretty veneer and see pressed board from which it is constructed.

That being said it is a solid frame and feels sturdy. I like the height of the desk and the width makes it very visually pleasing. The top surface is durable and well suited for a desk although you may need something if you are writing on stationary without any desk pad.

Overall very pleased.

Really nice desk. Assembly instructions was easy and put it together in less than 1 hour. I had to wait several months for it due to it being out of stock and supply chain issues. This was not a surprise as I was given a timeframe of when I would receive it (came earlier than the time given).

Fit and finish of the drawers could be better but acceptable for the price paid. Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase.

During shipping the top of desk got a nick. As it is a grainy rather than smooth top it is not very noticeable and I didn’t think it was worth the trouble or returning a large and heavy item. The large drawer has a pull down front panel, or you can slide the drawer out to open normally.

I’m not sure why you’d want to use the drop panel front. Regardless, the hinges are screwed into MDF and the screw holes were stripped when we got it and would not hold. My husband used some glue to secure it, again so I wouldn’t have the hassle of exchange.

A little disappointed at the particle board type material that the drawer hinge wad screwed into but it mostly feels solid. Very attractive piece. It is beautiful. Lastly, they did not ship the return.

I got email that my order was delivered with no mention that the other part would come later. I had to call for this info and almost a month from order for the return to even ship.

This furniture doesn’t come with a assembly manual. You can find something online. however the parts aren’t labeled in the box only a few of them. So good luck figuring out what goes where and what order you should proceed with the assembly.

Came out great! Fit the area, it’s a very pleasant grey. I had fun putting it together and once together it’s very sturdy, Feel that it was a good buy!

It is well designed for a desk in a small area. All parts were included but assembly was more time consuming than anticipated ( 2 hours). A center drawer would have been nice.

This desk is so easy to put together. It is heavy and solid quality. The only thing to be aware of is desk fades/bleeds ( I guess the finish). It is still a pretty desk and i love it!

Beautiful desk. Large and spacious and super easy to put together. The actual desk is lighter than what is shown in the pictures. I might end up staining it. Since it’s all real wood on the hairpin legs, it’s pretty heavy.

There are also not any holes at the back for cables.

Had some difficulty building even with two people. Also had a lot of difficulty bringing it up the steps to our apartment. After putting completely together went to move it where we want it and top shelf broke off.

So had to do use the screwdriver and screw in a few extra spots not in the instructions. Love the finished product now and with the extra screws it is very very sturdy.

Both of us have a place to work. I can fit a printer nicely in between. I wish there was a little more shelf space, but appreciate the privacy measure. Took two people to put together, the package was very heavy.

This desk is perfect for my full size monitors on both desks. I’m so glad a made the purchase. Desk is very sturdy. Definitely need the instructions in front of you when assembling your desk.

Edit after two years I still love this desk, but the surface has definitely scratched significantly. After one year I love this desk. Ive had it for nearly a year now, and it has held up beautifully.

I put a couple of small scratches in it, but the slightly marbled surface makes it easy to hide them with a black pen. I love the shelf under the desk for hiding all of my messy stuff. The file drawer is a nice size and opens and closes smoothly.

It is a bit of a challenge to assemble, but the instructions are very thorough and easy to understand (I definitely recommend two people, though). My only complaint is a small one – I really wish it had a keyboard tray.

If you are looking to attach a keyboard tray, I recommend that you take off the small decorative bar just under the desk on whichever side you want to install the tray. It will make your life much easier!.

Absolutely love the desk! The only reason it’s a 4 out of 5 is because of assembly. Some instructions would’ve been more helpful in a different order. Some pieces were labeled with letters actually marked into the wood and some were just stickers.

Half of the stickers had fallen off so it was a little tricky finding the right pieces. The desk itself is very nice quality for the price and size.

This desk is quite sturdy and functional. I like the color contrast of the light wood vs. the dark top. I miss it having a small drawer for pens, etc. , but the open shelf above the deep drawer is proving useful for my in basket.

I like the low shelf along the inside right Where I can store my power strip and headphone charging stand. It was a bear to carry upstairs and assemble, but it was worth it.

I originally ordered this to be a temporary desk. after putting it together I decided to keep it permanent. I was iffy on my purchase being that I seen quite a few negative reviews. I will admit the instructions suck.

but people it’s not that difficult it only took me a few extra seconds of my time to figure out what leg goes where. a tiny tiny bit of laminate got peeled a teeny tiny bit when putting the leg on. but come on people that doesn’t require you giving a negative review.

and if you use your brain it is highly flexible lol this desk looks amazing and is highly sturdy. the drawer already comes assembled in the top of the desk and that was a huge Plus for me! yes the drawer is stiff pulling it in and out but then again it’s brand new and never been used, so if that issue causes you to leave a bad review then use your brain once again.

gently move the drawer in and out a few times and get everything moving and if you’re not still happy about it squirt a little WD-40 on it, it’s not that hard people. I would highly recommend this desk especially for the price of 50 bucks! like I said originally I was expecting this cheap desk to be temporary but now it is going to be permanent.

it was highly way better than I expected.

I caught a sale and paid $49 for this desk, and I still paid too much. it’s flimsy, and the pieces don’t fit together right. On one side, the leg is flush with the top piece, and on the other, it’s not.

Either one would be acceptable, but they should match. It ends up being uneven. I tried, but there’s no making it fit properly. The drawer clicks in place, which seems like a good feature, but it is stiff and difficult.

It’s also uneven, and that can’t be my fault, because that piece was pre-attached. Plus, it’s listed as white, but it’s a white wood grain, which I find unpleasant to look at. I can’t even return it, because the first step of assembly is to glue the legs with dowels, so disassembly for return isn’t actually possible.

I don’t know why it has so many good reviews. Maybe they were bought, or maybe the people who wrote them don’t mind uneven fits or wrong colors. Whatever the case, the one I received is not good. Keep your money.

This is a waste.

I think I’m going to really like this desk, which I bought to use as a vanity. Yes, it is very cheaply made, that’s why it only costs $59! Although the assembly should’ve been easy, it was tough. Here’s why: The glue bottle lid is weird.

It had like 3 lids or something. A lid, a sheath, and a plug. I ended up squirting glue all over the bottom of one leg and had to wipe it/salvage it to use. Now, let’s talk about those wooden pegs and holes in top everyone is complaining about.

I, too, had 2 legs that didn’t fit right, and had I not remembered seeing others’ review photos may have had hiles in my table top too. But I remembered the photos and ended up finding some sandpaper (wishing I had a hamd saw) and sanded down the pegs to make them short enough, and it worked.

It took me almost 2 hours to completely assemble the desk. I may end up buying a mat or something to protect the top, based in others’ reviews. But overall, this desk will be perfect for what I needed.

Order ID:1000337175 Please refer my above order. The two items were received within four to five days one after the other. Each item was installed the same day it arrived. The two items were fine and beautiful.

But when tried to use them together, it turned out that chair does not fit with the table. The minimum height of the chair is approximately the same as the height of keyboard tray. So while sitting on the chair the legs/thighs do not come under the keyboard tray.

Is there a way to further reduce the height of the chair. ? If not then I need to replace the chair. Please help me.

We got a computer desk from Aosom. With speedy delivery. The desk is exactly what we wanted but as we were putting the rails on the drawer some of the bearings fell out, I called Aosom told them what had happened.

They replaced the two sliders no problem got them in two days. Very impressed with Aosom. When we need something from other places I now look at Aosom and check them out as well. Thanks for being on top of things for us.

It’s a really nice desk but particle board isn’t the strongest and I know it won’t hold up if moved. 2 screws came out of the board after the desk was assembled. I had a hard time putting it together myself as well.

Should’ve found someone to help. But it was cheap, got it for around $86, I wouldn’t have paid more. The instructions were so dumb and confusing and I had to redo quite a few things. The boards should be numbered so it’s a bit easier.

Very simple, clean lines and practical storage with a cupboard and 2 drawers. Enough space for a laptop on a riser, keyboard, wrist support and second monitor, as well as a few personal bits and pieces.

Only downside is that the desk material, whilst lovely to work on and it really limits glare, it marks up far to easily when caught with a biro. I’ve managed to draw on the desk by accident several times and it takes a little effort to get the ink off immediately, I’ve been reluctant to leave it on incase the material permanently marks.

White desks are at risk of this I guess but the limited colour options mean you have to go with what’s best for the space you’re working in and I don’t want to make the room darker. I would say it was a little on the high side price wise considering its size, but overall practical and suitable desk space which can be built with drawers on the side you prefer.

Does the job well and isn’t cumbersome, it was a bit long winded to build but to individual skill may be a contributing factor.
