Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum is a premium Caribbean Rum with spice other natural flavours. It’s alcohol by volume is 35% which might explain why it’s one of my husband favourites. He’s the main Rum drinker in our house and particularly enjoys Captain Morgan Rum mixed with Coke Zero and ice🥃 Personally l enjoy it in a Dirty Banana Cocktail, all ingredients need to mixed in a blender 🍹😉.

I ordered two 10 pack sleeves of mini bottles. I really wanted my mini bottles to arrive in the original sleeves with brand graphics. What I received was 20 mini bottles loose, but very well protected – a disappointment none-the-less.

If you had asked me to send to you a dozen eggs, I would not have send them out of an egg carton – just saying. If you had asked me to send you just a half a dozen eggs, they would still have come to you in a carton.

Little things do matter.

I’m not much of a drinker, meaning it will be many years between me drinking anything alcoholic, I usually opt for Rum with Cruzan Rum being my preferred Rum but it’s not available here so my husband bought this and I am not impressed at all.

It felt really weak compared to Cruzan and even Old Nick. Now it’s just sitting in our fridge with nobody touching it, I might have to try using it for a spiced cake or something. I doubt we’ll be buying this again.

Bacardi is first of all quality, and Bacardi black is also a pleasant sweet taste with notes of wood. Of all the types of this rum, only black can I use in its pure form, it is the mildest of all. I just hate cola, so I choose only those drinks that you can drink without mixing.

Naturally, I can’t drink a lot, after all, it has a fortress of 40%, but I can quite allow a couple of servings with ice to raise my mood. A significant advantage of Bacardi black is that after using it there is almost no hangover.

Due to the nature of the production technology, it has a minimum of harmful toxic compounds causing a hangover. (I worked as a bartender for 3 years and am well acquainted with the production technologies of most alcoholic drinks, and especially my favorites) If it is bad the morning after rum, it is most likely a fake, so to speak made inKirov in podval.

I always keep a bottle of Bacardi black in the house, because black rum is a part of my favorite tiramisu dessert, and I cook it quite often. I don’t like other types of black rum, because it carries a lot of alcohol, and the taste is not the same.

But Bacardi black has a pleasant aroma and caramel flavor.

First rum I ever bought to make my own eggnog—and it was great. I like it dark and strong in my nog, and prefer it over Kraken that way. Though it’s technically faux-nog, since I make it without eggs or dairy.

Ok, I have lots of liquor, but I go through it extremely slow savoring it for celebratory moments. That is supposed to be a preface for what I’m going to say next. That is, I remembered liking Bacardi 151 the other day when I was in TW.

Upon looking for it I found nothing so I asked a rep over there and almost got laughed at. Had no idea Bacardi had stopped making this. They had 2 other 151’s, but they were both dark so instead I picked up a bottle of this.

I was curious about it and usually find Cuban style rums to my liking, not to mention the 750ml bottle was right around 10 bucks (not so bad to try something; in fact, look at what some of the samplers cost).

So when I got around to drinking some of my purchases, I was pretty amazed at the taste. A rare few of my liquors I sip straight from the rocks, but most I mix or pour some coke in with. This made an amazing rum and coke I must say.

I can’t say anything tasted as good except maybe Henessey. I sip some of this soon too and come back to edit my review if it seems noteworthy. Regardless, I’ll be buying a bigger bottle the next time I’m over that way.

The molasses and the rum just do miracles in my opinion. There was one poor review for this, but it’s understandable. That person tried to get the same flavor from a different product, I never tasted what that person did.

It’s easy to get disappointed in something when you’re already biased.

A cherry flavor is very difficult to pull off when it comes to flavorings in food and alcohol products, but Cruzan nails it on the head with this one. This is definitely for those who do not like the sharp taste of alcohol and like alcohol drinks that you can’t taste the alcohol in it (I know its crazy but we do exist).

Be careful though. you can wind up drinking more than what you anticipated!.

Love this rum, I’ve only found it at two places and Total Wine is one of them. VERY affordable and everyone loves it.

So in celebration of national rum day we decided to purchase 4 rums and have a taste testing. Mind you none of us are real fans of Black Cherry but figured what the heck! Hands down winner of the flavored rums we tried.

Loved it and will definitely buy again probably this weekend. Too bad they don’t have the big bottle. Not only did we love the Black Cherry but have to admit it has something to do with the brand as well.

Not a typo in the title…this rum burns the palate. We could smell, but not taste, the coconut. Would recommend this more as a mixer rather than straight. We gave this two stars for two reasons: we like the packaging and we are Bruno Mars fans.

For much less burn and more coconut flavor, try the coconut rums from Siesta Key or Koloa.

Simply delicious. I never went for flavored rums, etc. because I don’t like artificial ingredients. But this product is natural and really good. Highly recommend. Even a simple cocktail really rocks with this added.

I tried this for the first time at a bar and I had to pick up bottles for myself. The taste is perfect if you love coconut and don’t want to add any other mixers. I only drink this on the rocks and its one of the best coconut rums out there.

I read that it is aged in whiskey barrels so it’s the best of both worlds! Definitely my go too whenever I see it at the bars and at home!.

Wait, you’ve never tried Corn and Oil? It’s been around since the 1700s and it’s dead simple to make. 2 ingredients plus ice. 1 half ounce of Taylor’s Falernum. 2 ozs of Pilar Sherry Cask Rum. That’s it! Try it.

It’s a smooth sipper with rich notes of chocolate and a finish like a fine bourbon. By itself it’s just ok and probably not my favorite but in this drink, it comes alive and really makes a simple drink seem elegant.

My friend bought me a bottle of this gem. We finished it tonight and i was a bit sad. This is the best rum i have tasted, by far, that is made in Florida. There is one from St Augustine that is a similar price which is rubbing alcohol by comparison.

This rum is smooth, great anyway you serve it. I like to sip on it and if i want to make the best rum and Coke ever, this is the perfect rum. Can’t say enough good things about it. It is on par with the best in the Caribbean in this price range.

Several Key West bars are serving mojitos made with this local rum. I had never enjoyed a mojito that much, so I decided to pick up a bottle of this rum. Tasting it alone, I realized that the creamy vanilla flavor seems beyond what is possible for a pure rum.

I would bet that there is some natural flavor added. But that doesn’t make this an inferior product – the mint and vanilla combo of a Papa’s Pilar Mojito mixed at home takes me right back to Key West, just as delicious as I remember it!.

We started buying this rum on the islands of Spanish Wells and Eleuthera in the Bahamas. We tried many dark rums in all price ranges. This one by far was our favorite. We use it to make Dark and Stormys.

The flavors of the rum mixed with ginger beer and lime supersedes all other dark runs we have tried. We were so happy Total Wine carries this rum. We placed an online order with them for us to pick up when we returned to Florida.

This is one of the most flavorful and interesting budget rums, particularly within the price point. Upon first impression, you’re hit with a rich caramel sweetness paired with the faint note of barrel tannin.

It slowly reveals a hint of the funky, rotten-banana kind of scent that many Jamaican runs are known for. As it finishes, those rich caramel and fruit flavors start to resemble those of much darker dried fruits, much like I have experienced with a very good Cognac.

There is a considerable amount of burn once it starts to make it’s way through your body, but it’s genuinely not too bad at all. This dark rum is perfect for a cocktail like a Mai-Tai or a Hot Buttered Rum.

While I do find the 5 year Plantation Grande Reserve to be a much more complex spirit, I think that this offers a little bit of everything that makes Rum special. A little sweetness, a little funk, some barrel spice, a touch of banana, burnt sugar.

I could go on. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a bottle, it’s perfect in most Tiki cocktails.

I love all plantation rums but when it comes to “dark” rums in general I find this one the sweetest I had tried so far, which is not a completely bad thing but can turn some people off (Plantation is known for adding sugar to their rums).

If you are looking for something funkier, I recommend myers dark. Compared to goslings dark I would pick this rum over it all day, be it a dark and stormy or cuba libre.

The very best coconut rum I’ve ever had. In fact, it’s making me want a rum and Coke right now! I traveled 40 miles acroos town because it’s the only location in the Vegas area that sells it. Needless to say, I stocked up.

Don Q is the best rum I have ever try they just don’t advertise it like Bacardi does. I can say without any doubts that Don Q is way better than Bacardi. This coconut flavor is amazing. Love it so much and so happy Total Wine has it.

But they need to bring all the other varieties that Don Q has, like Don Q Passion. Please don’t ever stop selling this!!.

Makes the best tasting “Cherry Coke” drinks for those old enough to remember the old fashion cherry cokes. The Cherry flavoring isn’t too sweet or tart and doesn’t have a syrup taste. Just add, Coke or Diet Coke and Enjoy!! Give it a try and it just become your new favorite.

I really enjoy all the fruity flavors that Cruzan Rum Liqueur has to offer! Raspberry is on of my favorite flavors. It’s a great fruity taste for summer boat rides (mixed with lemonade or sprite). Also, it makes really fabulous jello-shots.

It’s not too expensive where you hesitate sharing, and even the broke college kids like me can afford it! It’s really good for the price. I would definitely recommend to those who like fruity flavors with no strong “alcohol” aftertaste.

Cruzan Rum may just be one of my favorite rum brands. I may also be slightly partial to the brand because we often visit the USVI, where Cruzan rum originates. On the islands they create all kinds of different mixed drinks and fuze flavors together to make fruity, refreshing cocktails.

The Cruzan Raspberry and Cruzan Guava flavors are my favorite and taste amazing if you me mix them with lemonade.

I’m a big fan of dark rums and Koloa is an all-time favorite. I can’t seem to keep it on the shelf. The nose reminds me strongly of vanilla and spices, while the taste is a lovely blend of sweet molasses and nutmeg.

Incredibly smooth and flavorful. I discovered this on a trip to Kauai and now I make sure to check for it every trip to Total Wine. Great stuff.

This is a lovely sipping rum, as well as mixer. In a pinch, use it in baking. The vanilla forward aroma is amazing.

Found this rum originally in St Thomas VI. It is hands down the The best coconut flavored rum available. It’s my wife’s absolute favorite drink and I even enjoy it occasionally and I don’t even like coconut that much.

One of my favorite flavored rums. I have tried lots of rum brands trying to make the perfect blue hawaiian and I think this one is great. It has a great coconut flavor but isn’t overwhelming. It doesn’t taste like suntan lotion like some others do (in my opinion) it’s a more subtle natural flavor and that’s why I like it.

If you want a strong coconut that you can taste over darker liquors this one probably isn’t what you are looking for but if you just want a good coconut rum this one is great.

Having experienced the wonderful Plantation 3 Stars White Rum and the sublime Plantation 20th Anniversary Rum, I’ve decided to try out their dark rum offering. The nose harbors a hefty punch of blackstrap molasses, vanilla, and coffee, punctuated with flavors of raisins, banana, and caramel on the mouthfeel.

It certainly has that slight funkiness that’s characteristic of Jamaican rums as well. What more can I say? Plantation Original Dark is a delicious sipping libation, an excellent constituent to cocktails that call for dark rum, and a value at its current price.

Here’s some cocktail suggestions for everyone to try. PLANTER’S PUNCH – 1 1/2 ounce Plantation Original Dark Rum – 1 ounce unsweetened pineapple juice – 1 ounce fresh orange juice – 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice – 1/4 ounce grenadine syrup – 1/4 ounce sugar syrup – 2 to 4 dashes Angostura bitters With the exception of the bitters, pour all ingredients into an iced cocktail shaker, give it a lengthy shake, strain into a cocktail glass filled with crushed ice, add dashes of bitters on top of drink, and garnish with a pineapple spear and cocktail cherry.

SUBURBAN – 1 1/2 ounce rye whiskey – 1/2 ounce Plantation Original Dark Rum – 1/2 ounce ruby port – 1 dash Angostura bitters – 1 dash orange bitters Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass half-filled with ice and strain into a cocktail glass of choice.

I’m coming over from bourbon and it makes sense to pair my cigars with a good rum. I’m impressed that this blend is double aged in two different barrels. In the bourbon world, that’s a definite plus.

Nice bottle, beautiful label, cork bottle and a very smooth, very easy, very enjoyable drink, especially at this price point. I highly recommend it.

I bought this a few weeks ago and it’s already gone. I bought 3 random spiced rums for me and hubby to try and we both have claimed this as our favourite rum. I usually feel a bit sick after any other rum I’ve tried, but as much of this one that I drink I feel perfectly fine the next day! I put it in anything I have laying around and it still goes down well.

It’s very smooth. We will be buying this as long as it’s around. It is also such a great price. I’d usually spend a lot more to drink something that tastes this good, especially because I feel great the next day.

This is handsdown my favourite run at the moment. I have bought it many times in the last couple of months. It goes particularly well on vanilla ice cream & in coffee drinks. Hence the reason why I’ve bought quite often as it’s a lovely unusual way to finish a meal with friends.

Now with my friends I hooked too! It’s also excellent on ice. It has a very strong flavour so you really feel like you’re having a treat and you don’t need to have much.

We normally buy Captain Morgan but we thought we’d give this one a try for a change. We really liked it. We drink it with Bundaberg Ginger Beer and a squeeze of fresh lime but it’s great with Bundaberg Spicy Ginger Beer that only comes out at Christmas time& lime.

We’ll probably stick with this one now.

I bought this recently. I was unsure bc at first wasn’t sure what I’d mix it with. I have found I can mix it with banana to make an exciting strawberry banana smoothie, the drinks listed on website, pina colada etc.

It’s light but was very nice. Definitely took the edge off of stress but wasn’t over the top. I fine it equal to drinking a glass of wine but easier to change up to avoid boredom. I’m definitely planning to purchase this again!!!.

The “new” Myers’s rum is not nearly the quality flavor of the previous recipe. In an “umbrella” drink I am sure it still works fine as the new flavor is hidden by all the fruit juices in the drink. I have been drinking Myers’s for decades with club soda and a squeeze of lemon and have had to stop as it is completely different since new ownership has acquired this brand.

The color has changed, more orange now, the scent is different and of course the taste is nowhere what it used to be. It is interesting that over the years I noticed that the taste of Myers’s was different in Europe and in many Caribbean islands and the top was metal.

I know these bottles tasted different. Coming back to the states the bottles had plastic tops and the original flavor. Have no clue why the new owners dropped the proper ingredients and went with the ingredients used today but unfortunately is probably due to cost and lack of concern for quality.

It is really too bad as this has been my drink of choice for ages and I just can’t stand the flavor of today’s Myers’s rum. Thank you.

Maybe I just don’t know “Jamaican rum, but I do know Caribbean runs and in comparison to them this imo has a funky flavor. It’s def an original taste out of all the runs I ever had. But it’s not a taste I can into and I’ll drink about anything.

I would never buy. This bottle was given to me. If you gonna drop $19 on a 750ml rum I suggest barcardi that runs $20 for 1. 75L.

Diageo sold the rights to Myers’s to another distiller and the new batches are so NOT Myers’s (although they still charge the same price of course). Total Wine won’t let me write the new distiller’s name in this review, but you can Google them.

The flavor, aroma and color of the new Myers’ are not even close to the original dark. I wrote the new distiller (because they say on the label they like to hear from their customers) and they said they would look into it but there have been no changes.

Fred Myers must be rolling in his grave! For Myers’s lovers, beware! Check the labels closely. I have my family scouring local liquor stores for Diageo Myers and they have found me about 15 Diageo bottles, but these won’t last forever.

I’ve been drinking Kingston Rum for many Summers and It has to be one of, if not the best rums around. I’ve tried many different brands of coconut rum such as Malibu and Parrot Bay. Many of these rums are extremely sweet and just taate too sugary.

Kingston has a great coconut flavor without being too surgary or tasting like syrup. It has a natural flavor that can easily be enjoyed on the rocks or with a light mix. I will not drink another brand of coconut rum.

Ok so I got this trying to be a cheapskate and not pay for Malibu Coconut Rum and it is so good you cannot even tell the difference! I made some drinks to serve friends thinking they’d notice a different flavor or something and everyone loved the drinks and complimented me on flavor!.

This is a really great light rum, especially for the price. I think this one is a great competitor in the under $10. 00 category. I find it has a bit more character than say typical inexpensive Puerto Rican light rums, so all of you Bacardi Superior folks – give this USVI one a try! Good for mixing, works quite nicely in a Daiquiri.

It’s reasonably smooth, and while you could do better for a sipping rum, you could also do worse. I’m not rating this based on sipping qualities, but each to their own.

This Caribbean rum dates to 1760. Let that sink in. It is actually American, from the (since 1898) American island of St. Croix. Excellent quality rum, unbeatable price. The fact they sell this white rum shows off the product’s quality, since it isn’t achieved by blending aged and spiced rums or adding flavoring.

Their base rum is just really this good. I wouldn’t sip, go with Flor de Cana or similar for that, but it’s excellent for mixing.

It has more good flavor than Bacardi and La Caña Grande at a slightly lower price. It’s not great by any stretch of the imagination, but it does well enough to justify itself. The price point makes it a no brainer.

My husband and I discovered Cruzan Coconut Rum when we were in St. John USVI about 15 years ago. We mix it with pineapple juice but it goes with a lot of different things. It’s a smoother, sweeter taste than Malibu or Captian Morgan Coconut IMO.

You can’t find it in EVERY liquor store but I know for sure that they sell it in New Hampshire State liquor stores (one of the benefits of sending your kid to SNHU and driving him up and back). Cruzan makes other flavors but for us, it’s coconut or nothing.

Love my coconut rum. Cruzan is manufactured in the USVI’s. This is my home away from home. A portion of all sales go back to help fund the islands. It not only is so good and refreshing it helps its hometown.

Mix this with a sparkling lime water and you have yourself a skinny pina colada that you can drink all day on the beach. You can add a splash of pineapple juice if you want but it does not need it.

I love this rum. I was not sure at first if I would like it because of it having coconut in it but it actually doesn’t taste like coconut to much. I mix it with pineapple juice and some crushed ice and it’s perfect ! It’s a good drink when u just want to wind down from a bad day but not wanting a hang over feeling the ncext day.

I Love most Captain Morgan products and if you are someone who likes flavored rum, or just flavored alcohol in general, you will LOVE Parrot Bay Rum. It comes in many different flavors. My favorites are passion fruit and strawberry.

They work GREAT to make daiquiris’ as well as any smoothie with rum incorporated. They also mix really good with things like ginger ale, sprite, 7-up or even your favorite juices. It is sweet but not too sweet and very flavorful.

It doesn’t burn when you drink it, and it goes down very smooth. For people who like to use shots or drink hard liquor straight this is also a great product for that. It doesn’t taste super strong like a lot of hard liquor because of the flavoring.

If you get a flavor you really like that obviously helps too. When you use it to make alcohol blended drinks/smoothies, even if you add a lot of liquor to make stronger drinks it still doesn’t taste really strong, more flavorful.

Parrot bay rum is my favorite alcohol. It blends great with everything from cola to 7 up. Its great as a straight shots and even in orange juice its perfect. So no matter how you like your drink its always delicious.

It’s hard to imagine a spirit that gets more tainted in these misadventures than coconut rum. Oh, that red plastic party cup of doom, filled to the brim with diet cola and a certain white-bottled poison engineered to appeal to new imbibers.

The illicit flask in the tiny handbag of a sorority member at a winter formal, shared amongst giggling sisters. That three-night cruise to Ensenada blurred by industrial piña coladas and sleep deprivation.

Coconut rum has been there at some very poorly-thought-out moments. Koloa Kaua`i Coconut Rum is an innocent victim, guilty by association, but I promise you, it’s a bum rap. From the moment you open the bottle, you realize that this is different from the industrial-alcohol-and-artificial-flavor pretenders.

You are greeted by an intense, slightly boozy cloud of what smells like Actual Coconuts. Not sunscreen, not shampoo. Coconuts. The boozy/alcohol aroma may be a bit unexpected to those used to the white bottle stuff (which is now technically a liqueur bottled in Canada, where I’ve never seen a coconut tree, but, I digress), largely because this is bottled at 80 proof, unlike most of the competition that comes in between 40 and 70.

In the mouth, the coconut flavor and aroma fill the palate – there is obviously a great deal of sweetness but it never ventures over into cloying territory. Still, this isn’t something I’d typically drink neat.

I enjoy it with cola, in a daiquiri (rocks or up) or to round out a Pina Colada, Bahama Mama or a Surfer On Acid. The coconut flavor is especially welcome in this rendition of a popular drink from a certain Orlando-adjacent Polynesian Resort.

I present the Leilani Volcano: Shake, over ice: 6 parts guava nectar 5 parts Koloa Kaua`i Coconut Rum 3 parts pineapple juice 1-2 parts fresh lime juice Strain over cracked or crushed ice and garnish like you mean it.

Love this. Easy on the rocks, or with a mix of pineapple juice for the world’s simplest pina colada. Instant vacation. If your a fan of super sweet, this is not for you. So, Total Wine, when are going to start shipping this to your New England stores? I know, it a long way from Kauai, but I haven’t seen an expiration date on a bottle of this yet! (Not that mine lasts that long…).

Please, please please, start expanding it to those of us only have summer for a few weeks.
