20 Best Dairy Free Milk For Coffee (2023 Updated)

I really like this product! I am on my 3rd tub and have a backup ready. I needed to add healthy fats into my diet. My goal was to stay away from aluminum, even though, yes, this is in plastic. (Too bad KOS doesn’t do a mason jar type glass bottle recycling program — hint hint.

) Anyhow, the coconut milk powder is pure and wonderful. I had thought to use it in soups and every time I wanted a tasty addition to a recipe. (They have a recipe online to turn the powder into milk).

I find however that my favorite use is simply to add a few Tablespoons to my morning smoothie. I highly recommend it and am even thinking of gifting it. Will definitely keep on buying. So very happy to have found it! — I remember reading a review of this powder being really dry & lumpy, hard to use.

Personally, I keep the moisture packets (already inside) in the container and upon first few uses, shake the tub (lid tightly sealed, of course) to help break up any powder clumps that may be in there.

After that, I rarely need to shake it. It’s really easy to store and use. Mind you, I do use it daily. It’s not just sitting intermittently on the shelf. Last word: delicious!.

This is simple the best tasting coconut milk powder I have tired out of about 6-7 different brands. I searched for coconut milk powder without extra stuff in it – like maltodextrin or tapioca something-or-other.

Kos coconut milk powder has nothing extra added – Yay! I add the powder to baked goods if a creamy taste is needed for a dairy-free treat, sprinkle it over berries on a waffle and use it in place of dairy milk for cereal or a smoothie.

We whisk it into warm or hot water to make milk (maybe a tbsp. per ½ cup?). Yummy.

Sorry this review is kind of long, but I wanted to be thorough. My whole family is hooked on the Golden SuperLatte. I wanted a cheaper alternative than my local coffee shops, so I was stoked when I heard this brand had a Golden.

Due to digestive issues I can’t have dairy anymore, and I feel like Oatmilk is hands down, the best alternative to regular milk. My husband and daughter even switched to Oatmilk because they just prefer it.

For years I was a third wave Barista for 2 different companies and I trained a lot of people- so I’m kind of a picky snob when it comes to coffee and tea. The Golden is the only one I’ve tried so far but I just ordered the Chai and the Matcha to try.

I have high expectations based on how good the Golden is. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this is the ONLY powder instant tea latte, or instant powder coffee/latte type drink that I’ve liked so far.

And I’ve admittedly tried a ridiculous amount. The initial draw for me was that these are all Oatmilk based and contain no dairy. They’re cheaper than going out for coffee or tea, healthier, and contain fair trade ethically sourced ingredients (which is very important to me).

(For the Golden) I like to use a little less powder than the recipe on the package calls for (which saves me even more money), I’ve been using a mini whisk to stir my drinks and so the powder is all thoroughly mixed without chunks.

I just bought the frother though so I’m excited to give it a try. I add about half a tsp of honey, and I use Oatmilk from the fridge to top it off so it’s cool enough to drink, give it one more quick stir and it’s good to go.

I like drinking it at night when everything quiets down and I can just relax with a podcast or a good book. I’ve been kind of annoying about forcing family members to try the Golden, but then they always love it and want me to make them their own, and most even saying they want to order some.

As for the people who don’t like how long it takes to receive their order; I think a lot of people are so used to being able to order something online and get it VERY quickly. But here we’re ordering from a smaller and newer company that uses a lot of organic and ethically sourced ingredients.

I’d much rather have a high quality product from a smaller company than a super fast delivery. And if you get a subscription you save even more money and you receive it on a consistent timeline. I also like that you can alter billing and delivery dates on your subscription and cancel anytime.

I’ll probably be writing another ridiculously thorough review after I try some of their other products!.

Having just polished off my fourth cup of your delicious lattes in less than 24 hours, I would say that I am quite hooked and can’t remember how I got through the days (and nights) before I discovered them! They are just the thing when my brain says “Snack?” and I see the bags sitting near the tea kettle and reply, “No, latte!” I have completely lost my knack for snacks with these delicious beverages.

After drinking one around 4 pm, I suddenly realize I am hungry again – about 4 hours later! They are superb. Keep those flavors coming! (attached is an unstaged, raw picture of my desk!).

So, I really wanted to like these. Two things are turning me away. The first I experienced was minor. The drinks (I ordered chai and golden) lead with a truly delicious flavor. And let’s face it, the froth is fun.

But there is a mild underlying funky taste that is hard to ignore after a full cup. I probably would have stuck it out with that though if it weren’t for the bigger, more delayed-onset issue. After having one drink per morning for about 4 or 5 mornings in a row, I developed an increasingly uncomfortable, at times downright painful level of bloating.

I was looking for these drinks to provide me with energy and good vibes in my body, and instead I am laid up in bed wishing I’d done more research. Apparently this is a very common side effect for people who are new to high-dose probiotics.

It is actually recommended that those folks gradually ease into probiotic use. So perhaps the recommendation to start your “ritual” with a “heaping scoop“ of drink mix diluted with only 8 ounces of water is not the best advice for everyone.

My experience with products advertised on Instagram has ranged from “meh” to “terrible”, so I wasn’t expecting much from Slate. But not only is it tasty, after comparing it to its closest competitors I truly believe Slate offers a superior product.

Its high fiber content and no added sugar stand out from the pack with few other protein milks having these features. It also tastes far better than most. As a bonus, it happens to be lactose-free, shelf-stable, easily recyclable, and comes in 3 unique flavors.

I was a newbie to protein milks. Since I’ve been rehabbing an injury my workouts are of moderate intensity at best. I didn’t expect to see strong results from Slate, but I was surprised yet again to find I was much less sore the day after working out.

Another unexpected benefit was that using Slate milk as a reward for finishing a workout led to increasing my time spent exercising by 1-2 hours a week on average. Wow! Cooling down with a Slate milk after a session of Ring Fit is now part of my daily routine that I look forward to.

Hey all you adult chocolate milk lovers, our time is finally upon us!! I ordered a double 12-pack of Slate after seeing their ads on Instagram and being smitten by the prospect of a better-for-you beloved childhood drink.

They arrived promptly in lovely, neat packaging and can be stored cold or room temperature. I’ve since taken to drinking one daily and they really hit the spot!! I would recommend shaking them up a bit since dark matter can settle on bottom, but beware that the can will fizz/rile up just a bit when you open after shaking.

Once I start working out again, I can see these becoming my go-to staples for post-workout recovery/happy-place indulgence. I don’t like coffee so I didn’t try that espresso one, but the dark and milk are absolutely divine!! Milk is richer than you would think and dark is not as rich as you’d imagine–they are both oddly balanced and (this is rare for me), but I don’t have a preference because they both make my chocolate sweet-tooth equally satisfied, but not overwhelmed.

I highly recommend this product! I like this company and I hope they continue the deals, practices, quality, and small-business perks that makes me want to purchase from them. In closing, please make a combo pack of just dark/milk chocolate WITHOUT the espresso.

Chai lattes are one of my favorite drinks to order at coffeeshops, so I had very high hopes for this! I think the flavor is good overall, just not great or one of the best Chai lattes I’ve had. Just like with all the other superlattes at Clevr, I love that it’s vegan and made with oat milk, can be frothed, and includes adaptogens and probiotics in the ingredients.

I also really appreciate the low sugar content. I’m just not sure if this will be a flavor I have on subscription as there’s more flavorful Chai lattes out there (Bala Chai comes to mind, though it can be a bit gritty and doesn’t include vegan milk powders in it so it’s not creamy unless made with milk).

I am enjoying Clevr’s Chai for the time being, as it includes everything you need for a well-rounded latte, within the powder mix.

This is a really good latte mix. I’ve tried just a few as they’ve been so disappointing and have been thrown out. My problem with Clevr is it’s too good, and I can’t have just one cup. Possibly I could live on this if forced to choose one thing to live on.

The chai spices are excellent and for me the chef’s kiss is the perfect amount of pepper. My gosh this makes a great latte. To degree that I have to use discipline to not have more/day. IOW if you love chai lattes this is killer, and no bags or Keurig cups or etc whether from Starbucks or Peets or CoffeeBean/TeaLeaf for home is going to approach the taste.

I was so excited to try this because I love Starbucks Chai Tea Latte, thinking it would be similar. It’s not. It tastes fine at first, but then you get this overpowering after taste of black pepper and your tongue literally burns.

I don’t know if my batch just has too much black pepper or if this is normal. I know the product description says spicy, a little sweet, but I got NO SWEET. Normally chai latte’s are a little spicy but not THIS MUCH.

I also don’t taste sweet at all, just all overpowering spice and my tongue is on fire. I don’t know how this much black pepper can be enjoyable to some people. I can’t even finish my first mug. It feels like I went into my pantry and poured black pepper into my mouth.

I can’t taste any of the other ingredients since the black pepper over rules it all. I will try mixing this with almond milk as opposed to water, to see if the almond milk can dilute some of this black pepper, but it’s so overpowering that I’m not sure.

I was so excited about this from all the great reviews. Bummer.

This stuff is delicious. It has nearly 3,700 5 star reviews. and there’s a reason why. It gives coffee such a delicious cream flavor, like half and half would, but this is much cheaper. It also gives coffee a mouth feel just like half and half or whipping cream but again this is much cheaper and shelf stable as well.

I make iced coffee, and the only real downside to this is it doesn’t blend well in cold drinks. That’s not really an issue though because I just blend my sugar and this stuff in while the coffee is hot and then poor over ice.

It makes a delicious iced coffee! Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and will buy again. Thanks Walmart!.

There are many things you can do with larger size creamer. You can make a most delicious hot cocoa mix that is so much better than the mixes you can buy and add water. You can save a ton of money buying in quantity, instead of small sizes.

I have never experienced the creamer going bad. It is easy to use right from the canister because it has an easy grab handle. My only rule for using from the canister: must use a clean and dry spoon each time.

This creamer makes your cup of coffee so creamy with no mystery flavor like the other brands have. I have tried so many other brands and they just taste awful.

I have been using these for about six months and LOVE the product. I am one of those people that doesn’t drink coffee like a normal human; I have to turn a cup of coffee into basically a sugary sweet dessert.

For a typical large gas-station sized coffee, I might put 8 vanilla creamers in, for example. So instead of using creamer and sugar, I have found this to be an excellent alternative. First of all, note that this thing rates serving as “only” 25 calories.

But before you start celebrating, realize that there are 300 (yeah THREE HUNDRED) servings per bottle. That is almost equivalent to 15 Big Macs. You have been warned. The shelf life once opened (does not have to be refrigerated) is rated at 30 days, although I have been going through these at a rate of about 1 every 2 months.

The flavor is indeed that classic vanilla creamer flavor you get in the little packets. The bottle includes a pump, although I have stopped trying to mess with the pump system. It is MUCH easier just to remove the cap and CAREFULLY pour in a little bit into my coffee.

Yes, it is easy to put too much in, but once you get the hang of pouring in a little, it works great. The problem with the pump is that it would stop working well as the liquid level dropped (basically to the point that it was not usable).

The value is good in my opinion; this is less than the cost of the powdered creamer I used to buy, and for me is just as easy to pour into the coffee (and makes less of a dusty mess). In summary, I highly recommend this product for high volume users of creamer!.

I’ve purchased Elmhurst’s unsweetened cashew milk for quite some time, but decided to try this because I was intrigued and it seemed less costly. I was a bit disappointed because the site advertises 27 servings, but that assumes that you are only adding 1 tbsp of base per 1 cup water.

I found that this produced a fairly watery milk, and ended up adding 2 tbsp per 1 cup water (the instructions on the back of the product actually state 1-2 tbsp per 1 cup, so it seems like a bit of deceptive marketing to me).

That produced a much creamier milk that was better than a lot of cashew milks out there. It was very easy to blend and was also smooth. However, it’s not anywhere near as good as Elmhurst. Given this, and the fact that there were fewer servings in each container than I originally assumed, I’ll be sticking with Elmhurst.

1. Both the almond and cashew “bases” that they sell are just butters, which you can purchase for 1/2 the price anywhere. 2. The suggested serving size on the bottle 1TBSP per cup of water produces extremely watery nearly tasteless liquid.

If you double it up, you now have 176 calories per cup of milk. That is really high for still not very creamy milk as they advertise and still hardly any taste. 3. Judging by the review on this site there is not a single 1 or 2 star review in the history of this company selling their products.

Seems skeptical to me. I am the only person that can see they are good at marketing almond and cashew butter?.

I tried both the oat milk and cashew milk. Both are decent for adding to smoothies since you really don’t taste it. But consumed alone or over cereal, the cashew milk wins out. The oat milk has an incredibly bland taste, bordering on unpleasant.

The cashew milk tastes better and has a better “mouth feel” as they say. The only downside of the cashew is that even when I shake it vigorously before each use, by the end of the jar there are pastey white solids floating around which are sort of gross.

Basically keeping the stuff mixed is a definite challenge.

So good! I bought this creamer after I realized regular creamer such as Coffee Mate etc have A LOT of chemicals I can’t pronounce or even know what they are. I drink coffee daily, when my kidneys started hurting I remember reading about Palm Oil and how it can cause so many types of health problems.

I decided to go for something more “natural”, this creamer is so good exceeded my expectations and best of all my kidneys stopped hurting. Although it has sunflower oil I haven’t found many bad benefits of sunflower oil compared to palm oil.

Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a “healthier” alternative without so many chemicals.

This creamer is hands-down the most delicious creamer I have ever had (and believe me, I have had A LOT of creamers—milk kind, oat kind, almond kind, soy kind, ALL kinds of creamers). It has NO equal.

It CANNOT be matched. FIRST of all, it is dairy-free, which makes my intestines & my lactose intolerant husband so very happy. We were drinking that garbage nestle coffeemate vanilla creamer forever, but I hated the additives and the fake aftertaste, so we tried so many brands and flavors and could NOT find anything we liked, until…… we found SILK ALMOND CREAMER SWEET & CREAMY at target.

We love it and are dedicated to this creamer; HOWEVER, we are in a bit of a lovers quarrel because I haven’t been able to snag a bottle at any of my local targets!! Where are you my love?! Why aren’t you in the dairy department, where you are supposed to be?! If you ever see this creamer, don’t just buy one.

BUY 3. Because you don’t want to be heartbroken, when you make coffee one morning and realize that you have no delicious sweet & creamy coffee creamer…. *sigh*.

I just tried this for the first time as a substitute for regular half and half. I will say I don’t normally put sugar in my coffee just cream and this is very very sweet. I definitely over poured this on my first cup and had to throw it away because it was unbearably sweet for me.

The second time I just added a splash and it was very good. So if you’re like me a little drop goes a long way with this. I’ve also been adding a little of the silk oat and coconut milk half and half to get a little more of that creamy texture in my coffee without the added sweetness.

The two together for me makes a perfect cup!.

I will only buy Lactaid brand 2 % Milk or if not in stock, their Regular lactose free milk. I love Milk and when I discovered I’m lactose intolerant I switched to those Milk seamlessly and had no issues with it ever.

It is creamy and slightly sweet! I think the issues some people experienced with the Milk is due to the bad storage practices at stores. I have seen dairy products sitting out of the fridge waiting for stock people to put into the fridge.

I have also seen deliveries left on sidewalks also waiting for stock people. I certainly wouldn’t blame the company for poor handling of products that need refrigeration or freezing once its in the hands of store people.

I bought my first half gallon last week, trying to determine if I am lactose intolerant. I poured my first glass last night and was immediately struck by how sweet it was. disgustingly sweet! I switched to plant based milks a year ago and only drinking the unsweetened types, so the sweetness was rather shocking.

I asked my husband to try it and he agreed that something was definitely wrong with it. I threw the glass away. Later that night, I noticed that my heart rate was racing for no reason. I’m a fitness oriented person and I wear a Garmin Fenix watch at all times.

My resting HR is usually in the low 60’s, last night within an hour of drinking the milk, it was 120-130bpm while I was sitting on the couch. Not sure if it’s related, but it was frightening! 24 hours later as I sit and write this, it’s still 20 points higher at 82bpm.

I decided to open another brand of lactose free milk that I bought the day as the Lactaid. It tasted completely “normal”, just like the regular nonfat milk that I used to drink. I’ll be throwing away both half gallons of the Lactaid brand.

I have used Lactaid since early 1990’s as my son was intolerant right from start which came from my side. He grew up on it. I too am lactaid intolerant for many long years prior and tried immediately.

Was the first nonlactic milk I could drink in years. Use it for everything I make with ‘regular’ milk. My son has tried the ice cream too and thinks it’s great. I haven’t yet, but his ‘like’ makes me want to try it.

His tastes are very particular. Just wish they weren’t so expensive, but best choice is Lactaid brands.

This may seem like a “me, me, me” review, but I hope it helps others get on board, and the should! I’ve tried different adaptogen mixes in my morning smoothie and thought to have gotten the most out of them.

Frankly could not say to notice a big difference, was bit disappointed about the big woop made around them. Early this year (pre-pandemic) I found Clevr and ordered the Chai Latte, was sure to feel a change in my organism and energy, then pandemic stroke and it all went sideways.

I’ve struggled with severe depression in the past and are always alert about the triggers. Needless to say 2020 has been tough, being an extrovert social distancing hits me the hardest and can make me spiral down.

Just started to use this product and so far, I like the flavour and it is so easy to use! I have added this to coffees and it tastes really creamy, which is great considering it is dairy-free! I really like how this is an option as I do only drink milk alternatives.

The collagen itself seems to be working well, obviously, I haven’t been using it long enough to see long-term effects (which is why it is 4 stars) but my skin feels softer and more hydrated (I have had way fewer spots!), my hair seems silky and smooth and my nails feel a little stronger.

I am going to keep using it to see how much this continues but so far, I am impressed!.

I was lucky enough to receive this collagen as part of a sample program. The flavor was amazing and I loved how versatile it is. I used in in my chocolate milk, in smoothies and in hot chocolate. I definitely noticed my nails seemed to grow faster.

My hair I didnt see as much of a difference. I feel like using it for 30 days is probably not enough and a more accurate review could come later. I love that they have environmentally friendly packaging and I didnt miss the scoop at all.

I never know what to do with plastic scoops when Im done with them and I hate to throw them away. So not having one is a great idea. I did have a little problem getting it to mix up smooth. But I live where its extremely humid and it got a little lumpy.

Blending it or using a shaker bottle solved that problem. I would definitely use this product as an ongoing part of my health and beauty routine.

I like this brand of oat milk but I don’t like this vanilla flavored one. The vanilla is strong and artificially flavored. It overpowers everything I put it in and makes it taste like fake vanilla flavoring.

I’ve tried it in oat milk and cereal. It would probably be good in smoothies or protein shakes where you would want to have that extra sweetness, but I won’t buy it again for daily use. The Chobani extra creamy is really good for daily use.

I switch between this and the extra creamy version. This vanilla oat milk is a really nice sweet treat. It kind of tastes like a sugar cookie without being too sweet. I find this perfect in coffee and smoothies.

The hint of vanilla just adds so much flavor. Of course, it is perfectly fine on it’s own as well. My sister, who does not usually care for oatmilk, will go out of her way to drink this because it’s so good.

Overall, this is worth a try!.

This is my favorite non dairy milk. It’s creamy, not too sweet and tastes delicious in coffee. I’ve never been much of a dairy milk drinker, I only used it in coffee. This creamy oatmilk is so good that I’ve been known to drink a glass before bed.

It tastes great cold but I’ve also slightly warmed it up and sprinkled with cinnamon for a treat. I’ve looked at the calcium content of this and regular cows milk in my fridge and this is slightly higher at 313mg or 25% RDV.

It also has less sugar than regular milk if this is something you watch. Based on the dairy milk currently in my fridge, this has just a bit over half of the sugar. 7g vs 12g. The only negative is that it is nearly impossible to find in stock in SE WI Targets.

The only store near me that sells it is 45 minutes away and it’s rarely in stock. :(.

This is a perfect size for my favorite dairy alternative Almond Milk at 96 oz! It’s a great price point as well & you get more vs. the 64 oz. size. I use it for my 3x/week in my Orgain Vegan Protein shakes, morning coffee, iced matchas & granola cereals.

The nutritional quality is high in Calcium, Vit D & Vit E plus some minerals. I stock up when I can as my family also uses it for Fruit Smoothies. I hope Target continues to carry it because I probably use one carton every 1.

First tried this at my sister’s because she had a surgery done. Fell in love with the sweetened vanilla almond milk! But the sweetened version is never in stock. The unsweetened is normally always there and I add 3/4 a cup of sugar or honey to the largest container they got over there.

which is 2. 84 liters aka 2/3 a gallon! not bad. I got my own 2/3 of 1 gallon container of this stuff last month. would love to always have 1 container on hand. if you’re allergic to cow’s milk it’s best to drink goat’s milk or almond milk.

normally you can not digest the cow’s milk because of added hormones and the molecules are too large for your body to absorb or you literally physically can’t absorb it. (normally if your body physically can’t absorb it that’s caused by toxins in your body from your food and you need to eat healthier foods, rarely is it a natural allergy) Goat’s milk has smaller molecules and is easier for your body to absorb is also better for kittens and puppies.
