20 Best Daily Moisturizer For 4C Hair (2023 Updated)

I wear a wash and go hairstyle and this cream really defines my hair especially after I wash it. I have thin hair and do not mind heavier products because it makes my hair appear thicker. To be honest it does cause a lot of shrinkage once it dries, but that is ok.

I am more worried about moisture than length. I use Giovanni Direct-Leave in and then apply a little of the cream (do not need much), a little goes a long way, but I tend to use to much (may be why I have more shrinkage).

I use a glosser if I want shine. I feel this products is better for coarse hair as it may weigh down looser textures.

My search may be over! For the longest I have been looking for a moisturizing leave in that pairs well with a good gel. Even most leave ins and gels from the same product lines of different brands would leave my hair flaky.

This hair lotion works great with the clumping gel. It is super thick so a little goes a long way. I am on day three with this combo and have very defined, moisturized, frizz free coils. To say that I am happy would be an understatement.

I just wished it came in a bigger size because I have a feeling the lotion will run out before the gel does. Please never discontinue this product!.

This is hands down the best hair moisturizer that I’ve ever used. I recently relaxed my hair after being natural for several years. I was reluctant to use a relaxer because when I did in the past my hair always seemed to get dry quickly.

I decided to try the ORS relaxer. Its been 23 days and my hair is still as soft and shiny as the day I relaxed it. This moisturizer is one of the reasons that my hair is so soft. It’s rich but it’s not heavy or greasy.

I have just bought my 4 year old daughter this product to help with her curly really long hair as i used it on her hair I thought “Why Don’t I use It?” So watching what it has done for her hair making it so easy to brush out now and it makes her soft, smells great, and it makes her curls so soft and its not greasy.

It has helped my hair be so much healthier and stronger and it doesn’t affect my sensitive scalp. It is not costly and I can afford it and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone it is “AMAZYING!!!!!”.

I bought this on the basis of all the positive reviews. I am so disappointed. I know things don’t work for all hair types, but given what this is made from, and all the people with 4C hair who are raving about it, it should surely have worked on my 3A/B type hair, long with two curl types.

It does absolutely nothing for my hair. Nothing. I washed my hair and used this and a sister product, and the following morning my hair was as dry as anything. Dryer than if I’d just washed and conditioned.

Obviously it must relate to my hair type, as others have raved about it, but I just don’t see why. Will stick to Cantu in future. An unfortunate waste of nearly £30 on products that won’t get used further.

I bought this product around 2 months ago and it is so good. Smells amazing and is the best butter for 4c for sealing in moisture. If you use it with the leave-in conditioner for an LB moisturizing method it works incredibly.

However it is just too expensive. There is not enough in the tub for the insane amount that you pay. I wish this could be better value for money because if you use it as a “daily moisturiser” on thick kinky hair it wont even last you 5 weeks.

5 stars though because the product itself is amazing. Not too heavy but still a great sealant.

I use this as my last step after my hair wash routine. I apply it while my hair is still wet/damp. Majority of the time I’ll scrunch it in. I also only do it on my ends. So far I’ve not noticed it making my hair look greasy when dry, it actually makes my ends look really healthy and hydrated.

And that’s something the ends need as it’s top of your head that gets the most oils. I love this mouse and will continue to use it *forever*!.

So I was looking for my usual moisturizer in the store but couldnt find it but I found this instead. Like the packaging of it. Like the color of the bottle. Looksnice doesn’t look cheap. Love how you can just squeeze it out.

It’s sometimes annoying having to dump your fingers in to get product. The smell is also very pleasant. One of the things I noticed right away, was how moisturized and smooth my hair felt. It was very easy to detangle and I could feel the oil penetrating through my hair.

I think what I was MOST shocked about was how SHINY my hair was after applying it! Omg, it just made my hair come to life. Also like the fact that it’s super cheap. Much cheaper than other natural hair moisturizers.

This can be used on natural and relaxed hair. I’ve only used this one time and I’m already amazed by how good it works. Let’s see how it makes my hair over time.

As I said on my last review, I think I have tried every product in the Cantu range for my caucasian long blonde hair due to this problem I had: During lockdown, for some reason my long dry wavy hair persisted to get into tangles daily, Something about being indoors, working from home – I had a real problem on my hands and had to get my dad to intervene and chop a good section off that was so knotted I had no hope of detangling it.

Anyway, I realised then that I must have abnormally fine but thick hair prone to tangling and a range like Cantu might be the only thing to keep it smooth and untangled. I bought a heap of products in their range, this being one of them.

Their products smell a little strong but leave my hair flossy and shiny. I recommend them to anyone. This one is quite light and I comb it through my damp hair (the ends) and leave it in so it lets my hair dry with a wave and without frizz.

The smell is strong but I don’t mind. You don’t need too much. Because I have dry hair, I get little curls around my head if I put my hair up in a ponytail. This stuff makes them lay flat and instead of my fuzzy curly ‘halo’ it even makes my roots shiny and glossy and my hair looks so well cared for!.

My hair type is wavy but then there’s times where I wake up with straight hair or times where I wake up with curly hair. My baby hairs always curl up if I don’t put them down but the rest of my hair is up to itself I guess lol.

This product is amazing. I’m a sucker for braids. When I apply this to create my braids and take them out the next day or two, boy does it leave my hair like a beautiful curled beauty. It maintains its texture plus it gives you hair this soft consistency that’ll leave you speechless.

This is a creamy oily product that I use to either scrunch out my curls from the cast or refresh them after a long day. It makes the hair look healthy and adds shine, does not look oily. I use this ok dry hair.

It definitely takes some time to understand how much to use. I would probably buy again! It helps replenish dry curls after a nap or a busy day. I really like this product. One negative is that it does build up if you use too much.

But otherwise great product!.

I am a heat trained naturalista with 4c fine, high porosity hair. My hair craves moisture every day. I used to straighten my hair once a week however now that I have this “moisture bomb “ in my hair care arsenal.

I am now able to have my hair moisturized everyday without it being weighed down or greasy. My hair is more manageable and it tames the frizz leaving my roller sets, twists and braids shiny with minimal frizz.

I’ve gone from heat styling my hair every week to heat styling every 3 weeks. My hair has incredible shine and the light scent is really nice too. This product has taken me from a high heat every week journey to a low heat versatile journey.

So I tried the as I am moisture milk daily hair revitalizer and loved it. It has cocoa butter shea butter vitamin E and sweet almond oil all make your hair super soft and easy to manage. I use it everyday in damp hair.

This product is milky when poured into the palm of your hand and smells great.

I love this product. This is my curly hair staple!!!!. I have a really hard time finding products that work for my hair. It is really soft and curly, AND I’m allergic to a lot of good stuff that is in natural hair products.

I was introduced to a couple of Taliah Wajid’s products in 2018 from a natural hairstylist. From then, I have tried the Shea coco collection and the natural hair collection and I really like both line of products.

I like the Shea coco collection. Have been using on and off for years. Very hydrating to the hair and not residual. Smells great ; I love coconut smell and Shea butter is good for you. I would recommend to all my 4cs or 4z with fine hair.

this is your go to, good for low porosity as well. The styling cream is good; my edge love it. but that daily “leave in” is GOLD!!!.

I’ve been wanting to try Oribe for a while, and I was looking for something that would help with flyaways when I received this box. Needless to say, I was excited to try this out. First, the bad. I work in an industry where I can’t wear heavily scented products.

This cream doesn’t smell bad, but it is fairly strong so I have to be careful about how much I use. Second, which isn’t a real con as it’s to be expected with these products, it doesn’t last all day.

My flyaways do start popping up by the end. of the work day. It’s still better than nothing though, and I assume people without scent restrictions could just smooth more on after a few hours. Now for the good! The scent is pretty nice.

Not something I’d go for in a perfume, but it’s pleasant. I really like that this is a water-based silicone product rather than silicone-based because it’s easier to distribute throughout my hair. Straight silicone products make my hair filmy after a couple of days, but this one doesn’t.

It also does a decent job at smoothing my hair and reducing flyaways. It’s not a gel so it isn’t perfect, but it does a great job of adding shine and smoothness without making my hair look oily or requiring me to wash my hair more often.

If I need to use it multiple days in a row, I just put a small dab in my hand with some water, rub my hands together, and smooth it over my head the next days. I’d probably personally rate this a 4. 5/5 because of the scent being strong, but because it’s more of a personal issue than a fault of the product, I’ll give it 5/5.

I’ve been using this product for 2 weeks now so I feel like I’ve had adequate time to test it and give an honest review. So far, I’m loving what I’m seeing! I recently took my naturally dark brunette hair to a light blonde balayaged look and the bleaching and lightening process took a bit of a toll on my locks.

My hair was dry and brittle and, combined with the cold winter, suffered from split ends and a general lack of moisture. I religiously used this Oribe cream on my freshly washed hair (about 2-3 times a week) after I showered.

Worked a generous amount into my ends since my hair is pretty long. First of all, I love the smell. Minor point but I just love the salon smell of it. As for moisture, it definitely adds a good amount of moisture back into my thirsty hair.

The other big draw for me is that it controls crazy flyaways and frizz, which I seem to suffer from a lot more in the winter months. I’ll keep using this as part of my hair regimen and see what it does after a few more weeks of use, but I can say that I am liking what Im seeing so far.

My split ends look like they’re being repaired and my hair looks healthier in general, especially the bleached dried ends. Overall another win from Oribe.

My natural hair is very very fine, so normally I wouldn’t need a product like this. However, right now I have a bleached ombre look, and my hair is very dry at the ends. Since I’ve never really had to deal with this problem, I’ve been trying a few different solutions to find out what works best without weighing my hair down too much.

This product works GREAT for conditioning and moisturizing my dry ends! I only use a dime-sized amount on the lower 6-10 inches of my hair, and use a much more lightweight leave-in spray near the roots.

It works like a dream. My hair is practically as soft as its natural state! I would not, however, say it does too much for the naturally occurring frizziness when air drying. Nor have I tried it on dry hair.

The only thing that may keep me from purchasing more in the future is the high price tag. Otherwise, I highly recommend.

Love all Hawaiian Silky products and this one is no exception! Brings moisture and shine to my long hair. just what I was looking for. I would say to spray into hand to apply it to hair because spraying for me I always ended up with too much making my hair greasy.

The product came fast, and the liquid was in good moisturizer form. It wasn’t too liquidity nor too thick. I will definitely buy again!!

Use this product to get my curls activated. Makes curls super strong without weighing them down.

This isn’t my favorite item compared with all the others I bought but it works well none the less. For my hair texture, it is a bit heavier. It works great for my children though. The smell isn’t as great as some of the other lines but it doesn’t stink by any means.

It would like best for people with denser hair or tighter curl patterns than mine (4b-4c). When I did use it, I tried on wet, damp, and dry hair. I have to use sparingly but again my hair isn’t as dense and it responds better to leave-ins when wet.

I’ve battled with dry hair for years now, ever since hitting menopause, and nothing I have been able to do has helped it. I’m tired of going in to see my hairdresser and having her say, “Wooof. That’s some dry hair!” and then having her use a product that does nothing for my hair long-term.

This product right here, though? It’s been a game-changer. I’ve used it overnight once, and I can’t tell you how much more manageable and happy my hair has become! Thank you, Mielle! I wasn’t sure I’d ever love my hair again, or see it back to what it once was.

I have reaches out recently on IG to Mielle organic concerning my 8yo cousin who we struggle to keep her hair down and curly. SHe has a mixture of 3c high and low porosity hair. When we leave her hair out the curl are gone and we have been doing beautiful braided hairstyle on her.

Mielle suggested to use that product plus the leave-in conditioner and do a twist out for her. I kid you not I used those two plus the almond oil, her curls are hydrated and beautiful they last really long.

When she goes to school her friends and teachers are telling her how beautiful her hair is. I can see more confidence on her hair. Because she used to ask to keep her hair straight like her friends hair are straight so she can keep them out.

Love love love this Hair Dew! I use it as a leave-in conditioner, and I think it’s safe to say that it’s my favorite leave-in. It’s the perfect consistency and my type 4 curls soak it up. Leaves my hair looking healthy and feeling moisturized.

And I love that it pairs well with every styling cream, butter and gel that I’ve tried so far. I just wish stores like Target would start carrying it again.

Holy crap I love this stuff! I’ve gone the past year or so switching between making my own moisturizers for my hair and using products that are already made up for when I get too lazy to do it myself.

I came upon this product recently and it makes my hair feel so good! Even when I feel like I overdosed on product, it still moisturized without making my hair feel sticky or like there was a ton of buildup.

I feel like this also played well with my mousses and gels that I use to get a little more curl definition. Speaking of definition, I found that even applying this to my hair dry helped perk up my curls! I go back and forth on whether I like the scent or not, but I appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the way it makes my hair feel, so I find that it is definitely worth the price.

I’ve been able to get a bottle for about $13 at Target.

I recently purchased this product from Sally’s Beauty Supply for $7. It’s normally priced between 13 and $14 here in Texas. So this was a great deal for me. I decided to use this during the midweek moisturizing session.

I applied this product and a DIY hair oil mix. My hair felt immediately moisturize and my Curls was popping. I was able to fluff out my hair without using the pic as much and it gave amazing volume on my 4A High porosity thick hair.

You cannot go wrong with this product.

First off, I’m glad Walmart lowered the price for this moisturizer. I was purchasing it from Target because the price was lower. This is my favorite hair moisturizer. It actually moisturizes my hair instead of just making it oily.

This product does leave a my hair a little oily, but not too much. It softens it with the moisturizing ingredients and the oil locks the moisture in. My hair stays soft and moisturized for a whole Week without me having to reapply!!! I love it! It smells good too.

It has a really light Shea butter smell.

Before I start my review I would like to say that I have received this product complimentary by Influenster. I love the smell and was so amazed on how well packaged it is. The fragrance bottle will be one that I definite buy again in the future.

It unreal on how the smell is so long lasting however not a super strong overbearing smell.

I have multi-racial, 3C-ish hair and I love this product. A little goes a long way. I use it on damp or wet hair on top leave-in. I love the smell and it keeps my hair moisturized for days on end when it’s in a protective-type style (bun, ponytail with twists, twists, plaits, etc).

I’m one of those people that won’t wash my hair for a weeks. This used to lead to dry, knotted hair but, with this product, I’m able to pretty much leave my hair alone for a week with the occasional spritz of water and a bit more product on the top layer.

I have not tried it on a wash & go yet, I’m not sure how it will work because it’s thick and rich. It washes out fine and I haven’t noticed any build up.

My first impression of this product was that it smells absolutely fantastic. However it did not live up to the hype for me. I have hair that is right between wavy and curly depending on how I dry it and the products that I use.

The instructions on this bottle said to comb it through my hair. If I did that I would lose all curl and be left with just a wave. So I tried it the way I use other products, which was to apply it to my hands and scrunch my hair up to help form curls.

This actually gave me some great curls but even a small amount left my hair feeling greasy rather than moisturized. The next time I tried it I followed instructions, combing a small amount through my hair while it was damp.

This time my hair felt great, but the product weighed my weak curls down completely to where I just had slight waves. I think this product may work well for someone who has strong curl definition in their hair so it can handle being combed through and springing back, but it does nothing for weaker curls.

My daughter’s hair has been a struggle for me since she was born. She has extremely thick long hair. I just can never seem to find the right products to keep it moisturized. One day while in the hair aisle at my local grocery store, my sister showed me the Urban Relaxation line and told me to try it out.

I don’t like to try a lot of different products on my daughter’s hair because I don’t want her to have any type of reaction (looking at you coconut) but I decided to give it a try. I will have to say, this moisturizer has been awesome! I use it after I wash her hair to detangle and style and it leaves her hair moisturized for days.

I am a lazy natural for myself and daughter so I typically do not bother it again until the next wash day (every 2 weeks for her). I always ran into the problem of it looking dry a couple of days later but with this it’s almost a week with good moisture.

So happy! Now if I can just find a product that could wash and style her hair without me having to do it 😉.

This has quickly become a favorite product for my hair. My hair has a natural curl but i could never tame the frizz so I often straightened it. My hair became so damaged from the constant heat. This product has brought my hair back to life and made it shiny and healthy.

It has added the moisture that my hair craved without making it feel oilY or heavy. My curls are soft and defined and even my scalp feels healthier. The de-tangle power is a miracle- I can comb through without breaking off any stands.

Urban hydration is a product that you can trust. It’s made from natural fruit and veggie extracts and is sulphate, parable, dye, and silicone free. It smells so pleasant with hints of vanilla and honey.

I will never go without this product. Wonderful.

This African Pride Silky Curls Moisturizer is hard to find in stores, so I am so thankful that Walmart has it in stock again at an affordable price :). This is the absolute BEST hair moisturizer for curly ethnic hair.

My toddler son has curly dry hair and this is the ONLY product I have tried on his hair that does not flake, does not smell bad, and leaves his hair very moisturized! It’s not easy finding products for ethnic hair that do a good job, but Walmart often has a good selection of Black hair care products at affordable prices.

Plus, this moisturizer smells divine! This product is not found in most Walmart stores anymore, although it used to be, but it is available online even though sometimes they are out of stock. You can find African Pride hair products inside Walmart stores, but I have not seen this particular cream inside Walmart in several months.

Local beauty supply stores do not even carry this cream; even if they do it would be more expensive. So Walmart if you are reading this, PLEASE keep this product in stock online and I hope that it will also be on Walmart shelves again too! Y’all my daughter 13 and when I tell you we have been looking for products for her beautiful curly hair for a while and we finally found it. This stuff is amazing I swear by it. Her hair is so soft and manageable.

Also the curls last all day we are so happy great product!!!.

This hair moisturiser is light and creamy. It doesn’t have a nasty stickiness like some do. It is liquid in nature with a light peachy smell. It leaves my hair and my children’s hair feeling very soft.

We all have different hair textures and it works in all of them. I do still use a separate hair serum now and then as that works differently to control fizz. That said, I am now on my third bottle of this shea butter moisturiser and have a further 3 on my shelf.

This butter will save your hair!!! It makes my hair so soft, especially when my hair was color treated. I used if for braid outs and protective styles and I never had to moisturize in between uses. Besides the fact that it lasts, it leaves your hair smelling wonderful! 10/10 would recommend and buy again.

I love this product line, but unfortunately, the double butter does not go well with my hair. The leave in conditioner is superior for my hair type for moisturizing. The double butter gives my hair a course feel.

It is too thick. I have to add coconut oil or some other moisturizer to get a softer feel. My hair type is bushy curly. tri-racial mixed. My hair is dry and bushy and needs daily moisture. I will continue to buy the leave in conditioner, but not the double butter.

I am in love, not only does it smell like bubble gum but it makes my hair so soft and silky. I love using it especially when I have braids in to keep them moisturized. Also great when using an oil to keep your scalp from getting dry!.

First off, a warning for people with dyed hair – the yellow pigment in this does seem to tint your hair slightly with repeated use. My bestie’s blue hair has taken on a green-ish tint from this while my copper has gotten more glow-y and reflective from the added gold tones.

I personally love this as it acts as a color enhancer, but some warning would have been nice as those who don’t have warm-toned hair will likely not appreciate the color change. Beyond that unexpected this is a stellar leave-in hair treatment.

I know it’s supposed to be “just” a moisturizer but it really does so much more. My curls are bouncier and more pronounced, my hair is softer and shinier, and overall my hair just seems healthier the more I use it.

I love how little I need to actually get results and that I can use it on my dry hair if I need some taming without it weighing my hair down or leaving it looking (or feeling) greasy. And, it smells great! It’s def not a scent for everyone but to me it smells like a cemetery.

Kind of musky and earthy but slightly floral – very gothic-chic IMO.

I have mermaid type mixed curly hair and this product works amazing for my hair. Also, smells great too! After, I am done placing this in my hair I rub my hands with what’s left on my hands as it moisturizes my hands too.

It’s especially great for my hair in summer & winter due to the weather extremes. I mainly use this on my bangs, top of my head and ends to tame my frizz. I use this along with Super Milk which I spray throughout my scalp, Dirty for styling, & Sea Spray makes my curls curlier and manageable.

I also like the new name as it makes more sense since it does revive my hair. I wish they made this into a solid too for travel as solids are easier for travel or bring back Queen Bee as that was great for traveling and smelled amazing too.

I also wish lush brought back Sunny Day at least in winter since the spray did work well for when you have static from your hats. As moisturizing as revive & super milk, and has much hold sea spray & dirty have, none of them really address hair static from hat wearing.

And hair static is usually more in winter.

I’ve tried many things on my 1C hair, and this is by far the most effective thing I’ve found. I got a sample of this a couple years ago, but couldn’t justify the cost because of my waist long hair. Now, a pixie growing to a bob, I bought this and do not regret it.

It makes my frizzy hair smooth and manageable, especially while growing out a pixie. If I don’t use this, it’s like walking outside when it is humid: POOF! A little goes a long way and using too much is a fine balance, because it will make your hair greasy.

The smell is intense, but it is pleasant to me. Might be too much for those sensitive to scents. If you are scent sensitive, I wouldn’t purchase this unless you get a sample or try it at a Lush store.

This is definitely my go-to product on wash days and in between washes. It is so moisturizing and smells amazing! This, paired with the Lemongrass Leave-In, does wonders for moisture retention on my thick 4B/4C hair.

A little goes a long way. I use about a dime-sized amount for each quadrant of my hair. I lucked up on an awesome sale and its lasted at least 6 months.

Oh!! MY!! GOD!! This stuff is amazing!!! Proudly I have a head full of long kinky hair. I have been trying various strategies to keep my hair soft and moisturized. I’m a HUGE fan of shea butter and found that my personal mixers work best compared to any store bought product.

that is it works best on MY hair. I saw this product and decided to try it. WHAT!!!! I couldn’t believe it. I used it alone on my wet hair after conditioning. The next day after my hair was dry, it still felt like it could have been a little damp.

So I left my scarf off to let it air dry out some more but after the normal air dry time, it still felt EXTREMELY MOIST AND OH SO SOFT. I’m currently wearing mini twists on my hair and my twists are incredibly soft and moisturized.

Kudos to the maker(s) of this product. I’ve finally found something that works. When I don’t feel like mixing my own or I don’t have the time to, I know where to go for this product. Kinky naturals, GET THIS!!!!.
