20 Best Cutting Board America’S Test Kitchen (2023 Updated)

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and so far haven’t had seen any warping, which was my main concern. I treated it with mineral oil when I first received it and have been alternating use on both sides which I think is helping to even it out.

I also had been using a smaller board previously and didn’t realize how much I was missing with the larger area of this one.

Do not buy. The cream and oil is very old. Someone crossed out the word Antimicrobial off the cream with a permanent marker.

I have had this Walnut cutting for more than 10 years. It has withstood the test of time as I am an avid cook. Recently I bought the same for my daughter and son in law as a housewarming gift. They love it! It will be treasured by those who enjoy cooking.

I’m a big believer in buy the best and you’ll never have to replace it. John Boos cutting boards fit the bill. I’ve had at least a dozen different boards made from different materials but that have been replaced because they warped or smelled or sucked the sharpness out of my knives.

What makes this one different is you can actually feel the grain of the board on each cut, it’s thick and heavy enough to stay put on the counter and it’s kind to my knives. This is the board I should have bought the first time.

Lesson learned.

This walnut cutting board is a beautiful addition to my dining room buffet as well as for kitchen use. I have two of these walnut pieces and use one for preparing meals and the other as a charcuterie board.

Easy to carry handgrips make it easier to carry straight to the table.

I received this about a week ago and have used it several times. It surprised me when it showed up with a bottle of mineral oil and wood butter. I’ve owned several wood cutting boards in the past and never oiled or buttered it.

But, apparently doing so really extends the life of the board so it was nice the company included these in my order. The board is heavier than most its size, and thicker, too. Someone with a weak hand grip or arthritis in their hands would struggle with it.

And no groove around the edge to catch any juices. Overall, it seems to be of excellent quality. I would prefer a groove for juices, but since they included the oil and butter to maintain the board, I’m making do without the groove.

John Boos is one of the legendary brands in the kitchen. I’m glad that I finally got one. So fancy! I prefer wood boards for most things. Food doesn’t slide around and they’re easier on your knives (I still use a plastic board for raw meats).

This is a solid, well made cutting board. It should last a long time with proper care and maintenance (hand washing and consistent re-oiling and waxing!). The board was fairly dry when I recieved it.

Luckily I also got the John Boos maintenance kit which includes mineral oil, board cream, and an applicator sponge. I seasoned it for a few days until it wouldn’t hold any more oil before using it for the first time.

It’s a good size for most uses. Could be a little thicker, but that would also make it heavier and more cumbersome. You can’t go wrong with this cutting board.

This Boos made in the USA maple cuttings board is beautiful. It’s so beautiful to look at, that I have been enjoying chopping my vegetables on it. This Boos cutting board is made of solid American rock maple, has recessed finger grips, renewable & sustainable, and reversible.

This is a great size at 18″X12″ with a thickness of 1. 5″. It’s enough cutting space to cut up and separate different veggies. This cutting board I only use it for chopping fruits and vegetables. This definitely has some weight to it and feels like a good premium quality cutting board that will last for years if taken care of correctly.

I love it and use it on a daily basis when cooking. Highly recommend!!.

I purchased this as a gift for my husband. The first thing I noticed upon opening was the wood surface was not as smooth as I thought it would be. The grain was really rough on some of the slabs of wood.

I cleaned it per the manufacturers instructions and noticed that some wood splinters came off on the cloth I used for cleaning. I don’t want to use this now I imagine every time we use it wood pieces end up on our food.

I would return this if I could. I have a cheap wood cutting board that was a third of the price that has smoother surface even after years of use.

They dont scratch, they dont stain, they dont move around on the counter. I adore these. I cook a lot, so I use cutting boards a lot. And Ive been through so many different brands over the years. Ive had these for almost a year now, and they look the same as when I bought them.

I do not put them in the dishwasher, but thats no hardship. They clean up so very easily.

I love the color and size of this cutting board. I purchased the boos block oil and wax, and followed the directions exactly. So far so good. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it has some “fraying”.

I’m not sure what exactly to call it, but it’s like very fine little wood fibers all around it. I’m following the care /maintenance directions to a tee so I don’t think it’s caused from anything I’m doing, perhaps it’s just the type of wood ? The little fibers aren’t getting in my food so I’m okay with it.

The wood graining on this board is beautiful. Looks great in my kitchen and works like a charm when chopping. Make sure to oil your boards from time-to-time. Wish is had rubber feet though.

Very sturdy and stays put when in use. Used it several times and scratches don’t show much , you can hardly see them. I’m sure in time they’ll show more but it’s a cutting board after all. Although I feel that if it scratches easily it’s not the best of quality.

This one is ! It’s very cute and aesthetically acceptable for it to be visible in a bar area or kitchen counter when entertaining. I’m happy with this perfect little board.

I’m so happy with this cutting board that I bought 2 of each available size. I don’t always have time to hand-wash every wooden board that I use, so these are great for everyday use. They’ve gone through the dishwasher without any problem.

I love the rubber grips on the sides. My toddler has tried to pull cutting boards off the kitchen counter, and this one stays pretty secure on the counter.

If you have a granite or similar one-piece counter top, this small cutting board should work well. My kitchen counter top has ceramic tiles with grout lines. Because it is not a completely flat surface, the cutting board doesn’t have enough rubber to grip and prevent slippage when in use.

I returned it for a different style with more rubber.

Bought this cutting board for my daughter as I have been a fan of Boos for a long time. She already had a big board so I had to keep it for myself. Does not disappoint ever. Have a big Boos cart already with a large maple top with drop-down leaves and everyone loves it as my coffee bar.

This board is so useful on the counter by my stovetop to use, not just for chopping, but to keep hot pans and trays off my counter tops.

This is an absolutely beautiful cutting board! This is a very large and weighty piece with a satiny smooth finish. It is of high quality and a very solid piece. It is large enough to prepare multiple food items on it at once.

Clean up is easy and the side area handles provide ease of moving the board to different areas. The care and maintenance kit is a wonderful addition to help maintain the beauty and durability of the block.

There could be storage issues due to the size of it. I am just leaving it on the kitchen counter as it just adds beauty and a wow factor.

I thought all cutting boards were created equal, until I got this one. It turns out it really does make a difference on the kind of materials used. I loved how solid this piece was and how it came with all the instructions on how to clean and season a cutting board, assisting with the anti-microbial properties.

The size is perfect for my counter top, right next to my range, and it looks nice enough to keep out all the time. I would definitely recommend this product.

The 4-Cooks Hard Rock Maple Cutting Board is a top of the line product. I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to grip so I can easily carry it to different areas of the kitchen or to the table as a center piece with the meat on it.

The maple wood is so beautiful and smooth. I also like that I can cut veggies on one side and meat on the other. Its as also antimicrobial. It’s so easy to clean. I also love the fact that it’s made in the U.

This cutting board is the perfect size and great quality. I will say the board is very heavy so sometimes I have trouble cleaning it, but compared to other boards I’ve had in the past it’s so nice to prep and chop without anything falling off the board.

This is a wonderful innovative product. It is very heavy, has a large surface area, juice runoff indentation and with counter edge overhang extremely secure. I have it next to the sink so I can just wipe food off into the sink.

Love that it can be moved around to be used elsewhere when multiple cooks in the kitchen. Thought about having a permanent cutting board area in my counter, this is so much better! My daughter told me that she loved it so I actually ordered a second for her.

Great quality. I purchased this looking for a thick cutting board that would last me 20 years, like my mothers has for her. I got tired of plastic cutting boards and constantly replacing them. Would definitely suggest this one!.

Excellent quality, well made, and heavy board. Fits firmly against counter so there is no slippage when chopping. Using this in conjunction with a Kohler Napa bar sink so did have to make some modifications to the underside in order to have it fit inside.

Definitely recommend.

Excellent quality and attractive but SO big! My husband actually wanted one 4″ thick. Thank God it wasn’t in stock when I purchased this one which is 3″ thick. We have a large kitchen in a large house, but the Butcher Block is still overwhelming.

Excellent cutting boards that are a definite plus addition to my kitchen. Used frequently and admired by all they are well worth the expense as they definitely add to the positive side of the cooking experience.

It’s’ a pretty color! They sent it to me as a replacement for the wrong color that was sent to me for free! I was allowed to keep the mistake cutting board that was initially sent. I thought that was super generous of them.

Convenient. Pretty stiff (won’t lay flat after being closed) when you first get it but it seems to breaks in. Magnet to close could be stronger but still holds well.

I love these cutting boards. all three sizes are usable and go right in the dishwasher. They haven’t lost their color or non-slip and look like new. The handles are very easy to grab. I may buy another set just to have in the wings.

Bought these to go with my Blanco divided sink. Built so well and strong. They improve the look of the sink. They removed all of my concerns about a quartz sink possibly breaking If something heavy were to be dropped.

They keep everything cleaner because nothing sits in water at the bottom of the sink. They can even help with drying. Very easy to place in place and remove one cleaning. Well they are expensive theyre worth every penny.

I specifically bought a Blanco sink grid for my Elkay Quartz sink because it was made with grids going both horizontally and vertically. The Elkay sink grids are only horizontal grids with vertical grids far a part.

This ultimately results in a more stable sink grid. I am definitely satisfied with my Blanco sink grid. I have seen people state that this is an expensive item, but I think it is well worth the money to protect a heavy use item that is not easily or inexpensively replaced.

If you have this sink, you WANT this grid! Just finished a gut kitchen remodel, and we got the Blanco sink in cafe brown (gorgeous). I didn’t even know this product existed, but I’m so glad it showed up as a “suggestion.

” Here’s why I like it: * Keeps everything off the surface of the sink, so it acts like a drainer for things I just rinse out, or hand-wash and don’t put in the dishwasher. * Brightens up the bottom of the sink a bit, which is nice because the sink is dark brown.

* It raises up the bottom of the sink slightly – another plus because this sink is SO deep and much deeper than my old one. * It protects the sink from scratches (according to other users) but I can’t comment on that because 1) our sink is brand-new and wasn’t subjected to much use before buying this and 2) it’s my understanding that these sinks are really resistant to damage in the first place.

Yes, it’s a little bit pricey, I suppose. (But after the last bill from the contractor, anything seems OK by comparison. ) I was prepared to return it if I thought it wasn’t worth it, but two minutes after it was in use, I was convinced.

I read many reviews on this item. Well, for me I LOVE it! Putting in the new charcoal sink was great, but I was always catching myself being tender on how I used it, not wanting to scratch it, not that it would of, but not wanting to take the chance.

This grate fits great. I do not have a problem with it moving around, or getting food stuck in the rubber feet, as I read on other comments. I love being able to set an item in the sink, but not have it sitting “in” the sink.

I truly advise to purchase this grate, love mine! And its very nice looking.

I have the Blanco sink that this is supposed to be compatible with. It’s really high-quality no question about that but it does not fit at all on the small sink side and really isn’t the ideal fit for the larger sink either.

For the price I expected more.
