20 Best Curtain Rod For Grommet Curtains (2023 Updated)

These sturdy adjustable poles (by twisting one pole inside the other to extend or reduce length) are an ideal solution for light/mid weight curtains (can’t vouch for whether they’d be suitable for heavy curtains) in a recess where it isn’t possible (or desirable) to drill holes for a fixed bracket.

I got them for our bedroom windows to add blackout curtains during the heatwave. (I have unlined roman blinds as the main window dressing). I’m so pleased with them, they’re staying up, even though I had planned to put them away when the heatwave was over!.

The material has a nice finish and high quality appearance. It is SO easy to install!! Some tension rods have a weird mechanism, but this one actually compresses and then expands to create a strong hold.

I haven’t had any issues with it falling. Note: the longer rod (54”-90”) comes with a center bracket, which you install at the top of the window frame with screws or a thick foam sticker (both are provided).

i had a situation in my front porch where i wanted a rail to hang miscellaneous items on – including washed shirts on hangars so that they would dry. Unfortunately screws were not permitted so I opted for one of these rails as i had used similar ones before for net curtains.

I did wonder how much weight they would hold before crashing down under the pressure, but so far i have had four hats; my gardening trousers and jacket to dry out on the rail and nothing has moved. i am really happy to get all these things off th back of a chair.

And of course it will come down with the minumum fuss when i want to do a spring-clean. i would reccommend highly.

I was so frustrated at how poorly these curtain rods were designed. Here are my complaints: 1. The bracket has a little locking screw to secure the rod in place, as do many curtain rods. However, the screw is adjustable from the *inside*, which means that once the curtain rod is up, you can’t adjust it.

With other curtain rods I own, the screw adjusts from the outside. The screw is also ridiculously hard to unscrew, which you must do to make the rods fit. 2. There is no way to lock the rod into place at your chosen length.

(There is a little plastic piece that’s supposed to do this, but it didn’t work. ) Thus, as you open and close the curtains, the rods adjust themselves to be too big. I had to tape the junction with a piece of duct tape to stop this.

3. The rods are quite flimsy. On my 28″ wide windows, they’re fin, but on my 36″ wide windows, they sag in the middle. On the other hand, they are cute once they’re up!.

I bought two of these in two different sizes for my daughters bedroom. She had a hand in picking them out and absolutely loves them! They do have a texture to them (almost like a star shape if u look at them from the very end) and are not the smooth round ball type how the picture appears but we think they look much more interesting this way also they have just the right amount of multi colored glitter in them that gives them a even more girly touch.

They were pretty easy to hang for me doing it by myself and for my first time but u do have to pre drill holes first before screwing them. We are both extremely happy with this purchase they are absolutely beautiful.

This is a nice, well made bracelet. I wanted it to pair with an Italian beed bracelet purchased in Naples this Fall. The two go together perfectly – the brown wrap on the Elegatto bracelet pulls out the brown agate beads that alternate with matte black beads.

The Italian creator complimented me on the Elegatto Alchor bracelet I was wearing at the time of my purchase.

Since I have white window and patio door trim, I wanted to get white double curtain rod, and very glad this worked well! I checked a number of options but found this one is best suited. The inner rod projection is slightly bigger than the one from home depot so it leaves room for the sheer with hooks; and the outer rod is slighter larger than 1 inch which make it looks nice (very solid) for grommet.

There are four brackets in the package, but I only used 3 (one each on the end, and one in the center, so that the curtain could close in the center) for my over 12′ wide patio door, and they are strong and high quality – you just need to make sure anchor them well into the wall.

The only caution is that the paint could scratch while mounting through the holes of (metal) brackets – need to be very careful. Good news is that the plastic hoops (for the inner rod and the grommet) slides well on the rods and did not scratch the paint.

Didn’t like that tiny nails were provided to secure bracket instead of regular or long screws. Price of product for plastic rods i think were too expensive. Less expensive at other stores. Will not be buying this at your store in future.

Bar is really good quality. I didn’t realize the hooks that are anchored to the wall for the rod to rest on would be plastic and given nails to mount it. Definitely should be screws and metal brackets.

I bought 7 sets of the nickel steel Diverge Double curtain rods in various sizes. This is the only one that had wall bracket that was sturdy, durable and looked really elegant and beautiful. I really hope they will not discontinue this design and model with this exact design.

This is the only one of its kind in the market for ready made double curtain rod. Due to the design of the Nickle steel bracket, this set is the best one Umbra has among all it’s curtain rods. I need to buy few more sets and very disappointed since it’s not available.

I hope they will continue to have it in the future because I would like to buy it again.

I purchased two sets during a sale. The double rods are great and easy to install. Unfortunately one package came with a faulty (unusually skinny) screw, making it difficult to secure the rod to the bracket so that it wouldn’t slide around when the curtains moved.

The black coating on the rod is also prone to scratching where the screws secure them to the bracket. This doesn’t impact me too much but if you change your curtains often, you may want to bear this in mind.

I got this curtain rod about a month ago. The first thing that meets the eye is the packaging. It’s very appealing, comes in a sleek black box, with a peekaboo window to see the tip of the curtain rod.

It definitely showcases the main selling point which is its design to reduce noise, and block out sunlight. I have a very long window so I had to use all three rods. It was fairly easy to install, and came with all hardware for an easier installation process.

It matches perfectly with my black out curtains and helps to block out the side light, and reduce noise. My curtains are fairly heavy, but the rod holds the weight just fine. You can also install this on your ceiling which I had never heard of before.

I hung it the way that I’m accustomed to (the wall), but I may try hanging the next one I get on the ceiling to see if there is a difference. I would definitely recommend to friends as I have already gotten several compliments.

It is pleasing to the eye and does serve its purpose to block out light, and reduce outside noise. Will be buying more.

I got my new curtain rod yesterday and immediately got it hung up. I was so excited for a nice looking, room darkening rod! My son has a different one in his room and, while it works, it isn’t as decorative as I’d like for my own room.

This rod is perfect! The instructions state it can be mounted on the ceiling or wall. We mounted it on the wall like you would a regular curtain rod. It went up quickly (hardware is included!) and I love that it reaches from 42”-120”.

We have a huge window in our bedroom and this covered it with room to spare! The rod is sturdy and holds my room darkening curtains with ease. The finials and rod are a nice design and notch it has to wrap the curtains around the edges works great.

Finally a curtain rod for my room darkening curtains that is decorative and keeps all the light out!!.

The Walmart box came crinkled and inside the rod box was open , parts were fallen into the Walmart box. Fortunately, no missing parts. One star off for delivery. Overall product is good material, it’s all metal.

Pictures do not clearly show that the bracket portion where the rod sits is a full circle, not a 1/2 circle like most brackets are. In order to get the rod out of the bracket each time to wash curtain, you would have to slide the entire rod out through those circles.

This would lead to scratches on the rod and bracket, not to mention the time it would take to do this. I had ordered these are there a limited choices of double rods available in pewter to match the grommets on my new curtains.

These are not it and will be returned.

This is an attractive rod but in installing it I realized there are two flaws with it. I have a 10 ft window so I needed to use the centre rod. The centre rod has no notches to indicate equidistance and no indicator when you’re reaching the end.

I put up one side fine but when when I was putting up the other side, I pulled out the centre rod too far and the curtains feel to the floor and in the process twisted the bracket. I was surprised that that could even happened.

I was able to twist it back through counterbalancing and I guess it’s designed to flex but this could have been avoided if the bracket was a half circle and not a full circle. So I don’t pull out the centre rod too far again, I applied Frog tape on both ends so I would know when I’m getting to the end.

This curtain rod is sturdily built with a nice design especially considering that $20 buys a garbage curtain rod at a big box home improvement store. Overall, very happy with these. To clarify the notation “this item may ship in its original packaging” — they shipped in ONLY their original packaging.

No outside box, plastic bag, or anything. As though the UPS guy went to the store, picked them off the shelf, and left them on our doorstep. The boxes themselves arrived dirty and partially crushed. I’m glad it wasn’t rainy on delivery day.

I appreciate low-waste packaging, but I feel we were merely lucky the rods arrived without dents or scratches. For the reviewer who said the wall anchors ripped up his drywall and didn’t hold the rod, he needed to drill a larger pilot hole for the anchor.

In fairness to the reviewer, the directions do say to drill a 1/4″ diameter hole, but attempting to put the screw into the anchor required a lot of pressure, so my husband stopped and drilled a 5/16″ pilot hole instead.

5/16″ is perfect so the anchor can screw in to the drywall instead of crushing through it. If the reviewer hammered the anchors into the drywall instead of screwing them in, then he certainly crushed the drywall.

Once the anchors were in, the anchor and the screw locked in securely.

Ordered 2 66″-120″ rods. One of them was fine with the appropriate brackets, end rods and the narrower middle extension piece. The other rod had 2 brackets and 3 end rods, no extension so I could only attach the left and right rods together.

Fortunately, one of my windows was actually just narrow enough that the rod fit without the extension. I did not want to wait any longer to get my curtains up, so I just kept the overpriced small rod instead of returning.

Other than the wrong pieces, the rods themselves are decent. Easy mounting and sturdy. Not sure how the finish will hold up with grommets or metal drapery hangers, seems like it may scratch easily.

I bought this in the matte black for our new home so that we could hang grommet top panels and sheers in the guest bedrooms and loft. They are beautiful, well made, and look much more expensive than they actually are.

I bought the 66″ – 120″ size in order to fit double windows and the included center bracket and extender rod work perfectly. No sagging in the middle. The look is very modern but not too modern as not to work with a transitional theme.

My husband, who usually doesn’t comment on drapery hardware, was amazed at how unique and beautiful they were (especially for the price). Get these! You won’t be disappointed.

10 Stars! Great look at a very affordable price. Super easy install, especially with the provided paper template. I was able to be precise and mount every bracket perfectly. Nice quality. Kit included 2 types of wall anchors.

I installed mine inside a covered front porch to hang cabana curtains. Love the industrial look. Brackets extended enough to hold the curtains away from the wall for easy opening and closing. Itooks like I spent alot of money, so that will be our little secret.

The flexibility of the length means that it is perfect in the location right now and if something changes I can still adjust it and use it. Quality feeling rod and assembly. I even called the customer service to ask for a 4th rod mount and it was mailed out to me that same day.

I love the style and color. I did have to cut them to fit my frame because the one smaller was too small. A hack saw did the trick and no one would ever know.
