I purchased my third of this model in January. I am exchanging it today, because like the two before it, it quickly stopped working. Pros: It’s hard to find a nice 1″ iron. It glides on my coarse hair so nicely.
It gets very hot. The cord is very nice, long and cloth wrapped. Cons: This one was making a crackling sound in the first week and today (April 3) would not turn on. I use it every other day at most.
The first one I had lasted a few years; the second one, only a few months. I vowed not to buy another, but bought a third because I had a gift card and couldn’t find a 1″ iron that had as nice of a ceramic coating.
This one lasted 3. 5 months. I’m careful to turn them off since there’s no auto off, and it only was used minimally each day. I’d gladly pay more to get a better quality product. Babyliss, invest in some quality control!.
Thank you Target for making this curling iron available. I saw it on other websites but needed to have a beautician’s license to purchase it. This curling iron is amazing. It came protected in it’s own box.
Delivery was very fast. I have fine, color treated hair. I followed the directions and used the temperature provided. I love how the dial stays in place, unlike other curling irons. I especially love how the clamp stays put.
My hair, even though fine, does not slip out. Usually the curls will droop after a couple hours. They are still here the next day! My hair feels smooth, conditioned and not fried as with other curling irons.
Purchased this because my hairstylist uses it. *It gets hot fast & works. No smell coming from it. *Gorgeous curls that are still going strong on the second day (today). *I did however burn my fingers bad grabbing the tip- it’s way too small.
After that I figured out how to curl it without needing to touch the end at all. *All these reviews saying it doesn’t curl or your hair won’t hold a curl- that’s your hair not the curling irons fault.

How does this curling iron get good reviews? I have naturally very curly hair. It has never ever had a problem with holding a curling iron curl before. But when I bought and used this curling iron, the curls fall flat within 30 minutes and it leaves my hair looking stringy and terrible.
I can’t think of one good thing to say about this curling iron. The barrel is really short and it‘s hard to determine how hot the iron is, which is likely the reason why the curls don’t stay with this iron.
I’ll be returning it, and I do not recommend it to ANYONE.

Best hot tool I’ve ever used on my hair. Took 2 or 3 times styling my hair to get the hang of it, but never looking back! This curling iron was designed to be used a specific way, and if used correctly it’s amazing.
Hold iron vertically and curl from the top of your head down. The clamp only is tight at the top of the barrel, and once you realize that and get the hang of the rotating barrel it is so easy to use.
I actually love how the clamp is loose at one end, because it allows me to pull the end of my curl through like a flat iron to achieve a natural, beachy look. For those saying that your hair gets stuck in the rotating barrel or on the rubbery grip- yes it can, but as long as you start your curl at the top of the barrel where the clamp is, and watch your hair as you rotate the barrel, it’s completely avoidable.
Loose waves take about 10 mins on my just past shoulder length hair, and less than 20 for tighter curls. Heats evenly and quickly and my hair stays styled all day. 10/10!!!!.
This was an impulse purchase, on clearance in-store. All of the reviewers complaining about the clamp didn’t watch the how-to-use video. this doesn’t work the same way your usual curler does. Your hair is SUPPOSED to slide through.
It heated up quickly and the digital display is nice. My problem, however, was with my hair getting stuck around the end of the barrel by the handle, like some other reviewers mentioned. I only got through two sections of hair before a huge chunk got ripped out.

Curls look awesome for a full half hour before they fall flat. When I walk into work people are like “oh my god! Your hair is so gorgeous! How did you do that?!” And then by my first meeting an hour later the curls fall so flat that my head looks like a pancake.
The only part I like about this tool is the spinning clamp- it makes it worlds easier to curl but it’s not worth the effort because the curls don’t last anyway. Was hoping to love this because I adore my buttercup dry bar blow drier.

Originally there was a small learning curve for me to use this, but I ended up liking the fact that the barrel itself turns. I have been using a curling wand from Winners for the past decade, but it was a smaller barrel and it didn’t give me the wavy curls that I wanted, especially with having long hair now.
I appreciate the fact that you can cantrol the heat and that this will help in the long-run for ensuring that not too much damage is being done. The 1. 25″ gives the perfect wavy curls if you have long hair! For those that are commenting on the longevity of the curls, I haven’t had a problem but I also use hairspray to make it hold (Verb Ghost Hairspray).
If you want to splurge on a hair curler, I’d say go for this one! (Also. not sure if I’m allowed to say this, but Amazon (Canada) has a better price for this item sold by Drybar with the 2 year warranty).
So easy to use! I’ve had many curling irons and this one is it! It has the clip I need cause I burn my neck or forehead using wands. The mirror and my depth perception aren’t friends. The barrel spins! Couldn’t have made that easier! It heats up so fast and my curls last.
The only issue I have is where the buttons are located on the handle. I accidentally keep turning it off or changing the temp. I love this curling iron!.

I love this curling iron! I’ve had it for 15 years and it still works great. I’m buying another so I have one for home and one for office. Heats quickly, love the multi-heat adjustment levels, tight springy full-length clip, long barrel.

I am a big fan of this curling wand. I’ve tried many other brands (hot tools, sephora brand ect. ) and this one checks off all the boxes for me. First it’s aesthetically pretty, I love the c-thru pink casing and the digital display.
The temperature is adjustable which is a feature I haven’t had on any of my other curling tools but is very important for helping to minimize damage. I found that my hair would steam with other curling wands even when my hair was perfectly dry but with this one it doesn’t seem to damage my hair and I still get a great curl.
There’s also a locking mechanism so you don’t accidently press the temp buttons. The tip is plastic which has helped me minimize hand/finger burns and it comes with a cute silicone tray to rest your wand in in between curls so that you don’t burn the surface of your counter.
And last but not least the packaging that it came in is super cute and eco friendly. Looks like a little tool box. Love this wand and all gisou products 3.
Very pleased with this curling iron, I would give it 10 stars if I could. After having tried many over the years this one did not disappoint. First the design is so cute just like all of the Gisou products.
But the functionality of it, is what sold me. I love that it has a temperature setting. All my other high end curling irons don’t have this and I always notice steam coming off my hair (even when perfectly dry).
This has not happened once with this curling iron. Also love how the tip does not get hot. This has prevented many burns. And last but not the least the barrel is so smooth, my hair just glides on and off.
I am happy to say that my hair looks just like Negin’s when I use this iron (maybe not as long) but the look of the curl is the same. It also doesn’t fry my hair like my last irons. Just love it ;).
I rarely write reviews, but I feel strongly about the overall curling wand and the added extras. I love interesting packaging, but the paper carrying case is really useless and flimsy. I wish they packaged it in a regular box and knocked a few dollars off the price.
I thought I would enjoy the aesthetic of the clear wand handle, but it does make the wand look cheap, like it was made for a child. The silicone mat is an interesting feature but it attracts dirt, dust and hair.
The wand heats up quickly (but I feel like thats a baseline requirement) and the lock is helpful. I don’t understand why other reviewers are saying that it “keeps a curl”, because doesn’t that depend on your hair? I don’t know enough about hair to say that with confidence.
Overall, I really wish the Gisou team stripped away the frills and invested more in the actual wand itself to keep it at this $129 price point. I am interested to see if they improve on the wand and issue another one.
