20 Best Curl Spray For Wavy Hair (2023 Updated)

I have naturally curly hair, but have used this product after I straighten my hair and am on day 2 or 3 and want to give it that beach wave look. It doesn’t seem to do the trick. I have also tried using it after I’m on day 3+ of using the Le Duo or 32mm Wand.

I don’t think it does much for my waves. I did however, just read a post from jasmine Rae on how she uses this product BEFORE curling her hair to help give texture and grip for the curl to hang on too.

I am definitely going to try that. I have used another brand of the same type of spray and would have given it zero stars, because of how it left my hair feeling. This product is not as bad, but you have to keep in mind it is a sea salt spray.

If you been to the ocean, you know how the natural ocean water spray leaves your hair feeling. I’ve read comments how people are really disappointed about this l’ange product, but it is meant to give the same effect, so you can’t really be surprised at the feel it leaves behind!.

This is one of my absolute favorite L’ange products. I use it for a quick wash and go when I don’t have time to heat style. I have straight hair with no wave whatsoever, but with this product I can actually achieve a beach wave curl using no heating tools.

I let my hair airdry while I apply makeup then spay Sat and Sea on hair and scrunch a bit, let it dry up a bit then spray Troi Chic Hairsprayand scrunch some more. Instant Beach waves. I figured this out on vacation going from pool day to dinner with limited time to style, and I have been doing it ever since.

Smells so amazing and refreshing. Adds body and volume to any type of hair and is very lightweight, not sticky at all. Also great to use on 2nd and 3rd day hair to refresh style.

Salt and sea texturing spray is truly unique! The smell is like vacation puts me in a good mood! Day 1 use thermo heat protection before blow out and curl with Le Duo. Day 2-3 I lightly brush my hair using the Lange vent brush vertically lightly to like fluff my hair before I spray salt and sea.

I gentle run my fingers thru underside of my hair flip head over and it holds on to my curls!!😃 I absolutely love this spray. I’ve try others and they make my hair flat and feels heavy. Im amazed how it drys so quickly adds texture and holds my hair!! Still experimenting next I’ll try on wet hair before blow out see what happens!! Buy and enjoy!.

I have been using Umberto Giannini curly jelly for about 20 years. This light-textured jelly is my go-to product for my curls, it is easy to apply, little goes a long way, smells lovely and the results are beautiful bouncy curls.

When I saw Umberto Giannini has introduced a curl jelly refresh, I wanted to try it. On day one, two, three etc when curls start losing their bounce and I don’t want to wash and go through the entire routine again, the curl refresh jelly is a lifesaver.

I simply section my hair and use it on dry hair and my curls simply revive and come back to life! I love the cur jelly and curl jelly refresh. I can safely go longer between wash days and still have bouncy curls!.

I don’t understand my hair but this is the first time I’d say that a gel works so good on my hair! I bought the travel size to try it out before buying the regular size. I’ve washed my hair like 4 times already, and I’ve used this gel after and everytime they came out amazing.

I only use this gel and a lightweight foam from another brand and they work beautifully together ❤ (it’s Charles Worthington). Now I wanna try everything they have of this brand! Love you xx.

Ive been using this for over a month now after watching Becky from Talk Becky Talk rave about her favourite lazy girl hair products. She mentioned this as something she used to make her hair grow faster after being suggested to use it herself by someone she says has amazingly healthy and ling hair she claims the product has worked for her so well that she actually had to stop using it and everyone that knows who I am on about will know her hair is VERY long so from the get go this product seemed promising.

I bought a big 100ml bottle for around 10 which i thought was reasonable. It comes in a clean looking white spray bottle with quite a concentrated nozzle if you like, the formula allows it to be sprayed into the roots and massaged in without leaving the hair greasy.

The scent isnt delicious or fresh but it is an acceptable scent which keeps the hair smelling clean, The actual smell of the product doesnt linger. The spray doesnt have any dangling or immediately conditioning properties in it so I would reccomend combing your wet hair, applying the product then combing again to disperse the product evenly throughout the hair.

My hair dries nicely using this product, it has a nice healthy shine about it, my hair looks properly cleansed and Ive noticed that it wards off the dreaded grease for slightly longer normally my hair is greasy weighing 24 hours but I can last to at least 2 days before the signs of grease start showing.

As for its hair growth abilities I really have noticed a different in length, my hair is growing faster and its visible so now Im using this spray with every other wash. The brand or rather product itself was recently used at London fashion week which it boasts on the bottle and I can see why with all the strain the models hair goes through to create those dramatic looks of course they would need a direct injection or goodforhair ingredients this spray still certainly deliver.

Ive used American Crew Fiber and Power Paste before this. My hair length is cropped and the top is voluminous with my fringe combed back into a slight pomp. This is my favourite product to use for the above application.

Mud Clay has a good strong hold as compared to the power paste which really doesnt hold up as well. Mud clay is also not too sticky on the hands while applying, unlike American Crew Fiber which makes it really painful on the hair roots and it feels like your hair is going to get pulled out while you comb it back.

Instead, it is really comfortable to use and works on the hair really smoothly. Just put some on your palm, rub through to heat it up, and run your hands through your hair accordingly. Doesnt wash off your hands so easily though, so youll need to wash it off your hands with soap.

However, one shampoo rinse is enough to get it off, I havent experienced any buildup with it yet.

I was looking for a heat protectant I could use on my fine color-treated hair that would not alter my color or cause product build-up, be sticky or tacky, and would be versatile! I wanted something I could use on damp or dry hair to protect it from heat and this product is great! I use this on damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair after I put in an anti-snap product and lightweight oil (pre-blow-dry).

Before drying I spray a light even mist over my hair and comb through and section off to blow dry. The results are amazing. My style lasts beautifully, feels like silk, and second-day hair requires a slight flat iron touch up (if that for my long bangs).

I have no tangling while drying or after, I have no sticky tacky feeling (which is why I hate “hair sprays”) except for very few products (one from Kenra (medium hold) and one from a brand not carried by Ulta) when needed.

I cannot say enough good things about this product and appreciate the advice I received from one of the Senior Stylists at the Kildeer, IL location who recommended this product. I took advantage of an amazing sale on this product and am well stocked 🙂 If you are looking for a great product that works well on damp or dry hair for heat protection with some styling benefits, I would give this a try!.

Starting with the PRO, this spray is awesome after you have styled your hair, particularly with some curls that you want to hold yet you don’t want to use stiff hairspray. You could run your fingers through the curls or tousle a little bit as you spray all around your hair.

It is an awesome finishing spray! However, the big Con is that it absolutely, positively is an NOT a good thermal styling spray. Some of the positive previous reviews said this product made it shiny and held either a straightener or curling iron pass over.

So I sprayed it on my blowdried hair and went ahead and curled my hair with a curling iron. I didn’t notice at the time, but at some point later in the day I thought I smelled burning hair. I happen to shower again later that evening and after the shower as my hair fell in my face, without a doubt it was burnt hair smell! I noticed the next morning that a large section of hair just to the right of my temple was gone, maybe an inch’ish away from the scalp! My stomach sank, my face became clammy! That feeling of horror set in.

With that said, I honestly have no problem continuing to use the product as a finishing spray, because it is THAT good specifically for that purpose. But please heed my warning – do NOT use as a thermal styling spray!!!.

I love this stuff. I spray my whole head and then brush it before I use my curling iron. It seems to help hold the curls and I don’t use any other hairspray after. It’s not crunchy or sticky at all. I love that it has thermal protection since I usually curl my hair.

You can’t even tell there’s hairspray in my hair after I’m done curling. I make sure to spray it about 8-10 inches away from my head so I don’t blast too much on. It has a nice fine mist so I usually don’t use a lot and a bottle lasts me a long time.

Waited a few weeks to be sure and my hair has only gotten better looking the longer I’ve used these products! I’m only just recently learning my hair isn’t straight, I just wasn’t taking care of it right.

I have very fine hair that’s very easily weighed down or dried out, both of which make my waves/curls flatten (hence why I had no clue I had texture for so long). The shampoo was interesting because of the thick almost gel/gluey consistency, but I love it! Water turns it to a really lovely lather I haven’t been able to find with other sulfate free shampoos, and my hair/scalp feel well cleansed and hydrated (which has been tough with my sensitive scalp, I usually either have to settle for a tight dry scalp or scalp acne from formulas that are too heavy) The conditioner is well hydrating without being heavy or weighing down my hair.

Unsure of whether the hydration levels will be adequate for coily hair types but as far as my fine, dehydrated strands go it’s a winner! Hair is shiny and less frizzy without going greasy and limp after 24 hours.

The mask is a nice extra boost of hydration without adding extra weight, I like using it after color or a clarifying wash. The refresh spray is awesome, I hadn’t really been too interested in this item when I bought the kit but I find myself using it a lot! The sprayer is kinda iffy and shoots a hard stream instead of a fine mist, so I usually spray it in my hands then smooth and scrunch it into my hair to reset any day 2 frizz or deflation.

I also like to use it when I wake up to a rogue curl doing something crazy, a little spritz on my fingers and I can tame/reshape any errant curls! Now, the gel is probably my favorite! I bought the kit mostly out of interest in the gel, because I hate paying like $30 bucks for the only other gel I liked, the Bumble and Bumble Surf Gel.

I was hoping this gel would be a “good enough” replacement, and turns out I love it even more!! My hair pattern is way more defined and the hold lasts so much longer, keeping my curls frizz free and well formed for at least 2-3 days.

Basically I love this whole kit when I was really only in it for 3/5 products, it’s perfect for my hair and way more affordable than all the products I’ve went through that just left my hair an undefined, greasy, and dehydrated mess.

I’ve probably spent hundreds on salon products, popular retail hair products, even super expensive niche online brands, and this stuff has done a million times better while costing wayyyyy less. Do yourself a favor and try this kit out!.

Looking back it seems that UG have only posted my reviews if I rated the product 3 or above so going to try again. I really wanted to love this range. looking for a good product that is reasonable in price.

I tried the curl jelly gel first and found it ok so after considerable thought, and seeing the kit on offer, I took the plunge. Unfortunately this kit was terrible for my hair leaving it so dry it was brittle.

I bought this kit, the mouse and weather proof finishing along with the new leave in conditioner and texture spray. I have not used all of these items in one wash but I have now used all of these items and they are all so drying.

Because of the scary results, I am not going to be trying any more of the range and now have a box of wasted products.

I’ve tried this a couple of times on day 2 and day 3 hair and I just can’t get on with it. It may just be my hair. I feel it leaves my hair sticky and feeling gunky. I have tried applying as directed (spraying onto hair) and applying by spraying into my hands and spreading evenly through the hair – I’ve tried using less and using more and I end up with the same result.

I am thinking my hair is too moisturised already, so this adds too much to my hair. I do believe it would work for someone with maybe drier hair or frizzy hair? As my hair isn’t suffering this at the moment.

I have put it away for winter use as my hair does dry out in the winter months so I’ll be giving it another shot then! It does smell amazing!.

I had high hopes for this product, but I don’t like the scent which reminds me of the suntan lotions I can’t stand. The day I tried to use it, I ended up pulling my hair back so that it wouldn’t disturb me.

Too bad. My son doesn’t like it either, and we both use salt spray texturizers from other companies. I couldn’t say if the product works in terms of adding texture. It’s strange. I wish companies would leave scent as a separate component.

Obviously I have other products with odors. I don’t want to have a dozen scents emanating from my face lotion, eye lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand cream, detangler, texturizer, serum, lip balm and goodness knows what else.

Much better to keep it simple.

My hair has turned white. I’m 70. And this spray actually does give my hair a little bounce, fullness, texture and curl. After washing I blow dry enough to keep it from dripping, and while still quite damp I lightly spray the sea salt texturizer from root to ends.

Then continually shake my hair and run my fingers through as it air dries. It’s very difficult to find products that actually give my new locks fullness and curl without weighing them down. This does a pretty good job.

But I must keep from using too much or it feels dirty.

Minus four Star’s for purchasing this item! I purchased this item thinking it would be perfect because of the need of holding spray and wax in on bottle. I’m new to extension baby hairs; because I just couldn’t find the best way to stop pulling out my edges.

I used the wax as an edge protector, finisher, and two small touchups. More spray then wax. Guess what 1/3 of the way of spray, and about 2/3 of the wax, the top of the canister would no longer release either the product.

I ran it under a bit of hotter luke warm water removed the top, and cleaned it with my shampoo then my tried my fiance. Nope, reassembled and still nothing. Minus a Star because of price Minus two Star’s because rinsing after every use because of the stickiness did not work.

Even after disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly. Minus a Star for wasting my money for having no recoursemy screen said “print error”, nobody knows what their doing, and I was more concerned with the Door Checker asking me for my receipt.

Sometimes long or short self checkout lines where it just so happens ends in a draw. Minus three Star’s For typically having one cashier running 4-? self Checkout Machines is idiotic, because of those who need additional help to completing their order.

-Example: I actually had to call my Advantage Care Medicare Benefits Insurance Providered to give instructions to a manager (OTC and HB cards have to be scanned as a Gift Card!). Just for this item, all of this happened in one trip! Guess the lowest I can go is the 1, but add my 1 Star last!.

I have used a lot of stuff on my hair over the years, and this one takes the cake. It’s basically like a texturizer, wax, and hair spray, all in one. A lot of room for play, and manipulation. If you have a shag haircut, or anything with layers, this is all you need to style it- I don’t use heat on my hair, and have mild wave.

It looks like I gave it a hairstyle with tools on 2-day hair, after mussing some through; now that’s a product. The texture is a bit like damp spider web, with two different settings, and dries down to touchable.

Smells weird at first, then goes away. Give it a shot. Please don’t discontinue this.

I love this stuff! I purchased it on a whim as there was a sale on and I was buying the Curl Repair conditioner and this cream caught my eye. I have loose waves, 2a on top, 2c underneath. But my hair is very thick.

It’s also going grey which makes frizz harder to manage as the texture of it is so different to the rest of my hair. I was a bit hesitant as the cream looked really thick. But it hasn’t weighed my hair down at all.

I only need to use a small bit, emulsified in my palms with water. It’s made a huge difference to my frizz and my hair feels so soft. Plus the cream smells really nice, kinda like talc?! I would definitely repurchase this.

I lovvvvve this product for my thick, wavy, long and coloured tresses. The product I used to buy has got increasingly hard to find and is more expensive than this one. It’s vegan and as far as I know isn’t owned by some shady parent company that isn’t vegan and tests on animals.

Yes they could look at their packaging with regard to the environment but apart from that I am very happy. It’s so time saving to use in comparison to other similar conditioning products too, I just use it ion my damp hair, comb it through and let it dry naturally; voilà!.

After splashing out on high end products which did nothing for my hair. I decided to try this out and wow! My fine curls look moisturised and shiny, no crown frizz, there not weighed down allowing volume and theres no greasy look.

I reached 5 day hair with no rewash combined with my leave in spray. My gel wasn’t great on this so I returned for the curl jelly and again wow. no hard crunch feeling after scrunched out. Now my go to.

Love Wella Products. Once you start using them and find what works for you, you will always use Wella. They truly know what they are doing. This product is fantastic. I am currently growing out my hair, sadly, I messed a little too much with my hair and the ends are dry and I have split ends.

Now, I know, for split ends the best thing is to cut them off, but sadly for me, I still have loads. I am in a healthy relationship with my hair, so a few self trims and then leave for a few months and so on until my hair is back to its formal glory.

Now, I will add that it took me ages to wreck my hair, I kept pushing and pushing until it was a step too far. So please take it from me and go easy on your hair because it is taking me more than a year and my hair is not quite there, I honestly think it will take about a year to get over this hair disaster.

Back to the product, less is more so don’t overload the product. It is wonderful with a blow-dry. I have also used it on my daughters very curly hair and it was lovely, we let it air dry, she is 7 and has very long hair.

I would recommend this product to give even lifeless hair a bit of pizzazz and healthy hair will love this product too, my hair looks great, it is only on inspection that you see all the damage. Wella helps me hide it well ;).

I spray it evenly on my freshly washed hair to help with tangles, BEFORE I put any product on my hair. I’m SO GLAD that I found this leave-in. I had run out of what I had been using. It has an amazing scent, maybe coconut, but I cane quite tell.

There isn’t much that’s NOT great about it, I other than the price maybe, ( a bigger bottle for the price, if I I was to be picky) but all in all not to bad.

I’ve used this hairspray for years, due to being unscented. It used to say I scented on front of bottle, but no longer. I still don’t notice any scent. It changes containers, but product stays the same.

This company had good price. Maybe a little longer to receive it, but that was fine.

I have struggled to get curls / waves to hold in my hair since it has grown longer. I had tried texturing and other dry hair sprays but they just made my hair crisp and didn’t held the hold. This stuff actually works and because the spray is wet it doesn’t dry out your hair.

Creates really defined curls and waves when using a heat tool and really helps them last all day and even into the next day!.

Really good styling spray especially when using Dyson airwrap or doing pin curls. Nice scent, lightweight and good spray that makes the product come out as a very fine mist. Highly recommended.

I really wanted to like this product, especially it being a Latina-owned brand. But after using for almost a year and going through almost a whole bottle, I honestly cannot recommend. My hair is naturally pretty wavy (2b/2c) and I purchased this in a set hoping that I could try out the whole system.

Ended up just sticking with this as a detangler that I put on right out of the shower. The rest of the products in my routine (which I have been using for years) are also all-natural sulfate free products and I’ve never had any issues, until I started incorporating this in.

At first, I loved it. It worked as it should and it seemed to only enhance my regular hair routine. But in the last couple months, I’ve noticed my hair start to get oilier and oilier. At first, I thought it was just my natural oils building up each day, but then I started to notice what seems like a permanent change in my hair.

I mean, I knew this stuff had a sticky texture to it, but what I didn’t realize was that it was building up in my hair. Even on days where I didn’t put the product in my hair, I noticed that my hair was waxy, tangled easier, and felt weighed down to the point where my natural curl was diminishing, even right after showering! I usually clarify when my hair starts feeling weighed down, and normally that works, but even after washing my hair 3 times and clarifying twice today, this stuff WILL NOT COME OUT.

This is a nightmare. There seems to be a permanent waxy coat on my hair that makes it borderline unmanageable. I’m so close to just cutting it all off and regrowing it because of how desperate I am to get this stuff out of my hair.

My hair used to be light and manageable enough to run my fingers through. Now, I can’t touch my hair without getting waxy residue on my hands, even after washing and putting in no product. My curls and waves are barely there, weighed down by all the product.

Not to mention that this makes it almost impossible to fully dry my hair in a decent amount of time, and forget using a blow dryer – it only worsens the tangles and waxy texture. I don’t know what to do anymore 🙁 I’ll be trying a new clarifying shampoo to see if that improves my hair, but I’m honestly afraid that this product has permanently damaged my hair.

I really wanted to be supportive and like this product, especially since I’ve seen all the “influences” raving about it. But it just did not work for my naturally curly hair. It instantly dried my hair, the texture of it was just awful.

Difficult to explain, but the moment I sprayed it on I noticed a weird texture to my hair that I was not ok with. I thought once I followed up with the cream, my hair would feel better, but nope it only added to it.

I have healthy curls, never dyed hair, so none of those are factors on why this product did not work for my curls. The scent of the product is great, the curls after they air dried and settled were ok, but did not get that instant WOW effect like EVERYONE appears to be having.

I couldn’t get over how it instantly dried out my hair with that awful texture. I did try application over the course of a week, and my view still stands, it never got better, every application the texture felt the same.

This product is missing hydration to the formula, which is important for curly hair. If the formula is ever updated, I’ll give it another try. The packaging also needs improvements, I too received a broken spray bottle.

I’ll stick to my other curl specific line of products that I also purchase from target for now that fall within the same price point. But, by all means, try it out and see is it works for you!.

I have to say that I LOVE this product, but I don’t use it for what its original intention was. I find that as a curl refreshing spray it was way too heavy and left my hair with an unpleasant coating which I assume is due to the different oils in it.

The ingredients list is amazing, though, and reminiscent of a homemade mask I used to put on my hair before wash days. I made that transition and now spray my hair thoroughly the morning of wash day and let it sit for about an hour.

Rinsing it off with shampoo helps get rid of that greasiness, but my hair still absorbs all the nutrients and feels so healthy and soft afterwards. I’ve also noticed that it’s gotten easier to detangle since I started doing this.

All and all, I think this is a great product, but would emphasize that, at least for my hair, it didn’t quite work for it’s intended purpose.

Okay okay so I haven’t been using this oil for even a month and there’s already results which is shocking. I’ve been suffering from dandruff since childhood and it’s gotten better but it’s still noticeable.

Ever since I started using this oil, my scalp barely flakes and not as itchy as before. It doesn’t look white at all anymore. I also LOVE the cooling sensation I feel every time I apply this. It feels like ants are dancing on my scalp.

My only complaint is that it’s quite “oily” but that’s okay along with its strong minty smell. But that goes away after a bit. Other than that, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this so much and I’ll be continuing using this.

I decided to try something new to support a black-owned business, so I purchased this “mousse. ” First of all, this isn’t a mousse at all and the consistency is more little watery with some foam. It has a very strong scent that I really don’t like either.

As far as the product, I actually HATE how it makes my hair feel. It’s super sticky and my curls do not feel soft after I’m done with my routine like they usually do. It’s hard to explain, but it made my hair stick together and then when diffused it really messed up the overall shape.

I didn’t use it again for a while, and then carefully used to sparingly today bc I’m out of my usual mousse and I’m not happy with the results. I’m going to have to restart my wash day from the beginning now.

Don’t recommend this one.

This year I have embraced my naturally wavy verging on slightly curly hair. This product, combined with the Nutricurls Boost Bounce 72 hour Curl Enhancing Mousse, is one of the best combinations I have found after trying a LOT of products.

I start with my hair very wet from the shower, add a leave in conditioner, then scrunch the mousse throughout my hair, and then spray this Milky Waves spray into my palms and scrunch it through my hair using the clumping method.

When my hair dries, I have beautiful wave definition with some curl, no frizz, no crunch, and it’s very soft. It will last into the next day and can be refreshed with a little water and a little more of the spray re-clumped into my hair.

In fact, it usually looks better the second day! I highly recommend both of these products.

I have to get some more soon. I’m finished with the Problem product buildup on scalp is hideous. I’m on cloud nine since I’m not using sticky stuff so I was sad about this my hair is fine I with no idea what to Feel like my frizzy hair needed this one! I’m so excited!.

It took me a while to figure out in what way/order my hair preferred these products the best. I am sure everyone else, like any other product, goes through the same trial period. I rated a four-star because the gel really did nothing for my hair at all but maybe it’s because of the styles I’ve been going for lately or maybe I wasn’t putting enough.

When I did try it, my hair felt awful and I had to wash my hair twice to get that gross tacky feeling out. I started only using the cream for a while and saw some nice results. Finally, I do use the spray leave-in to spruce up my curls.

So those two products do work very well for me and I have incorporated them regularly into my routine. I have to say my curls look absolutely perfect now, the spirals are perfectly intact from root to ends.

Love them and will be restocking those two items.

When I say you NEED this I am not being dramatic. It’s THE best products I’ve tried on my hair and I will not be going anywhere. They smell sooooo good and fresh, smell is NOT overpowering. Gel is supppper light weight but honey THAT HOLD.

🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 that cream again SUPPPER light weight but babyyyy they do their thang! Don’t get me started on the refresher!! If you don’t know how to refresh your curls or you’re just learning or just haven’t found the right product like myself THIS IS IT.

Literally all you need in one bottle to get your curls back to life. I swear it’s MAGIC in the bottles. So what I’m saying is RUN don’t walk and try these out for yourself.

I think the title speaks for itself! I AM NEVER LEAVING RIZOS CURLS. As a curly gal, I have endlessly searched for the perfect combination of products to not only define my curls but also give them volume.

When I finally invested in this bundle, it felt like I hit the jackpot!!! The detangling spray is so silky and I love that it coats the hair so evenly, prepping my hair for the magic that is the curling creme.
