My hair is thin and wavy, with low porosity. I rarely wear it in its natural state, opting to dry with a round blow-dryer brush and flat iron. SCENT: This reminds me of the Melrose Place scent, and is noticeable upon spritzing, but fades rather quickly.

TEXTURE: A little goes a long way. The right amount gives my hair volume; too much gave it a crispy texture. Overall: I tried this four different ways, With varying degrees of success. First, using my everyday product routine, using Kérastase Nutritive Nectar, Color WOW Dream Coat and Olaplex #6 on the ends of my hair.

I misted the OUAI all over, then sectioned and twisted my hair, pinning each section at the bottom and air drying. The result was a somewhat frizzy mess. Second, I used it as a substitute for dry shampoo (which I do not use) to see if it would ‘wake up’ and refresh day-old washed hair.

Unfortunately this made my hair look greasy, so that was a quick no-go. Third, I used a curl defining cream (MoroccanOil Curl Cream) and sprayed the Ouai, repeating the styling steps above, and gently blow drying after allowing my hair to air dry for about a half hour.

This combination gave my hair very soft, natural-looking waves that I pulled up into a ponytail. This look lasted all day, through being out in the sun, heat, and misters. It was a style I have attempted before, but by the end of the day it is usually flat.

This was encouraging! On my fourth and final attempt, I used the curl cream, repeated the original styling steps, and used a diffuser to blow dry my hair. This resulted in slightly defined waves that felt a little crispy, with an overall voluminous effect.

Final Thoughts: This is not a product that I would use often, only due to the texture/thickness of my hair. Although it does provide some added volume, finding the right balance between full and crunchy is tricky.

For someone who washes their hair 2-3x a week, this can be a tricky product to use. Best suited for thicker hai.

I am sharing my honest and authentic opinion as a Sephora Beauty Insider Community Ambassador. As someone with stick straight hair, seeing the word “wave” in a hair care product elicits equal parts hope and reservation, the latter being the result of having tried many products that have not lived up to their hype.

The mist makes me hopeful; it’s a good product, one I like, but not necessarily one I love. The fruity-floral and slightly woodsy-musky fragrance (the brand’s North Bondi scent) is light and pleasant, but doesn’t last very long.

My individual hair strands are fine and I have a lot of them so it looks like my hair is thicker than it actually is. For my hair type, I’ve found that the best way to use this wave spray is to lightly spritz the product onto my hair after curling it, aiming just below the crown of my head and also just above the ends, and then gently fluffing up those sections with my fingers to give it a little zhuzh.

This gives my hair the appearance of some body without weighing it down at the roots or ends. I appreciate that this product does not leave my hair crunchy and that I can repeat the spritzing and zhuzhing throughout the day, as needed, though I’ve found that maybe two more times during the day is best if I want to keep it from looking weighed down.

I really like this so far! I have straight, fine, medium-thickness hair, and I’ve been trying to find ways to style my hair with minimal heat and in ways I can stretch a style all week without washing.

I put this in damp, clean hair and ran it through mids to ends, then just lightly ran the remainder of what was on my hands through my roots. I put my hair in velcro rollers and let it naturally dry throughout the course of the day, then hit it with some brief heat before taking them out.

I was very delighted by how much hold it provided without making my hair feel rough or sticky! Even after brushing out the curls to soften them they sprang right back into place, and I can touch and run my fingers though my hair without compromising the style.

New fav product! I recommend only using enough to distribute evenly through your hair; I think I used a little too much my first go round, and while it wasn’t crunchy, it was just a bit more texture than I actually needed for my purposes.

regardless, if you have fine hair and are used to battling with it to do anything but sit like a dead thing on your head, I highly recommend this!.

As a curly girl, I feel like I am on a perpetual search for the holy grail styling product. I am a product junkie, trying everything, and never truly satisfied. These products (both the gel and the cream) seem to have made the cut.

They both provide good slip/coverage and reduce frizz, creating defined curls. My hair is soft and the curls seem to last. I have not yet decided which I prefer; the cream is thicker and might provide heavier/more curl control (maybe better for thicker curls?).

The gel cream also does the trick, but is more viscose, lighter and slipperier. I still have some testing to do, maybe even using both. They definitely make my top 5!.

I’ve tried countless mousse and serums for curly hair over the years. They either way your hair flat or leave it looking and feeling very crispy! This helped my with my post partum hair loss FRIZZ, i mean my hair was all types of crazy and the curls left were all over the place, after a trim and using this product my hair was back to its normal self! I tried using their OI leave in conditioner and it was TOO HEAVY for my fine hair.

So now I mix this with my Redken Frizz Reno cream and wow, my hair stays defined for 2 or 3 days depending on how I sleep on it. When I use it alone, only 2 days or sometimes even 1 day, with this South FL humidity.

Not unlike my other ‘curly girls’, I’ve spent a small fortune over the years trying what feels like a gazillion different products that never did what they promised. After reading all the reviews, it became obvious that the majority of those who left a negative review must not have read the directions prior to use(no judgements, we’ve all done that) – it’s SUPPOSE to make your hair crunchy, stiff, & as 1 person described, the ‘wet look’.

They were skipping the final step of, what Curlsmith calls ‘breaking the cast’. That’s when you take your fingers & scrunch the curls therefore breaking the hardened cast that keeps the curls. This is the BEST product for defining my curls, but I do believe it helps when you use this in conjunction w the other products from Curlsmith.

My hair is colored, dry, frizzy, over 75%white & VERY long(past my butt), with medium curl. Curlsmith is the ONLY system that, IF directions are followed, keeps my curls w out frizz, gives my hair volume I thought was only possible if I cut off a lot of length, gives me beautiful curls for 6 days, BUT the key for this product to work is 1) following the directions the WHOLE WAY THROUGH 2) use as part of the Curlsmith system 3) do NOT use on dry hair, your hair needs to be WET, NOT DAMP, but WET- I use them all IN the shower.

When l say ‘part of the Curlsmith system’, you really only need 4 of their products, &they have many products in each category to help you personalize for your particular issues/curl type. For ME, their wash/conditioner is wonderful & I suggest it for EVERY one.

Then I use either In Shower Style Fixer or Weightless Air Dry Cream(do NOT wash out). The final product I use BEFORE I get out of the shower is THIS product OR Curlsmith’s Hydro Style Flexi Jelly. These 2 products work very similar to each other; let hair COMPLETELY DRY then scrunch out the cast(that’s the step a lot of reviewers seemed to skip).

The 4th product, 1 I also recommend for ALL curly girls, is Moisture Memory Reactivator- the only 1 of the 4 I use that is meant for DAMP hair- it’s amazing, the curls just seem to pop back out of nowhere! The final 1 suggestion to all my curly friends out there.

WRAP YOUR HAIR BEFORE BED! At the VERY LEAST order a silk scrunchie(it won’t leave dents in your hair, lots of times all I have to do is take my hair down, shake it out, &go) &loosely put your hair in a messy pony tail before bed.

It’s best to wrap a silky scarf around it to stop the frizzies, but I don’t always do that either. I love ALL Curlsmith products when they are used together! Using them independently doesn’t give the same results, I tried it.

I use to hate my curls, NOW I LOVE THEM!.

I am a natural redhead with fine, very porous, truly 3C curls (with just a few random 3B curls thrown in). I have NEVER been able to use a gel styler. (They typically make my hair stringy, tangly, and look like I need a wash.

) THIS Styling Souffle is a game-changer! Like any leave-in products, I can’t use too much, because my hair is fine and not dense. But this, layered on after a bit of the Oil-in-Cream leave-in, makes my curls very nicely defined, but also soft and bouncy — not at all crunchy or stringy or tangly! This is GREAT! Winter is my hated-hair season.

my curls typically go flat and frizzy. This December, I discovered Curlsmith, and bought a bunch of travel sizes to try different products when Ulta had them on sale. I really like them ALL, but this is one of my very favorite stylers! My hair has been hydrated, soft, and my curls well-defined! (Probably achieving a good moisture-protein balance).

I love that they have different product lines of products (detox, protein, moisture, etc. ) and different levels of hold in the stylers, because my hair is very temperamental and changes with the weather.

All of them work for me, except the really aggressive hold gels because my hair is so fine. But I can use the Shape Up Aqua Gel, and love it too — especially if I use a small amount and combine it with the “Hold Me Softly” cream.

I REALLY don’t at all get what some other reviews say about the scent of the products being smelly. I am extremely allergic and sensitive to perfumey- or chemically-scented products, which aggrevate my allergies and asthma badly.

(More than most people — Seriously, I have thrown out expensive products from other companies because of their scent!). Curlsmith’s scents don’t bother me at all, and the scents that are there fade right away.

(I suspect that a competitor — like one whose products I USED to buy, and who had a lawsuit recently? — may be paying someone to post nasty reviews. Hmmmm?). Of course, some people are really sensitive and can’t even be around pure essential oils (which mostly don’t bother me).

Curlsmith products are WONDERFUL and they work! Not all products work for every curly head, which is why it’s so great that Curlsmith has so many different products! Have fun experimenting!.

The gel is great. My hair loves it and all it does is enhance my 2b/2c hair, BUT the dang jar packaging of the 8oz is a child of the devil. I have feared dropping this and the multi-tasking conditioner in my shower and loosing it all down the drain.

TONIGHT IT HAPPENED. It is not how I wanted to spend my wash day, cleaning the shower with a half done head of hair because this gel is very slippery and clings everywhere. This is dangerous combination in the shower, especially when you can’t see.

I wear glasses and cannot see anything but a blur without them. I’m legally blind without my glasses and have feared dropping this dang jar. I was carefully trying to put the lid back on and down it went.

I don’t have a place to rest it to put the lid on that isn’t under the shower head, so I had to do it while trying to hold the product in my hand to use and put the lid on. I lost it all and what was left of my wash day sanity.

I will not be buying this product for a while as it is expensive for a gel, but once I’ve used up some others, I’ll only buy the 16oz for the pump packaging alone. If the jar packaging was a way of getting people to buy more because they drop it, great job marketing team.

Us visually disabled people cannot stand jar packaging for hair and face products for this very reason, plus I have no idea where it went because I cannot see to find the dad-blast-it thing. Please consider becoming a company more aware of the consequences of packaging types on persons with disabilities.

Jar packaging also causes all kinds of issues with contamination and loss of nutrients due to the open nature of the jar.

Left my hair flat and frizzy. I have S-curl pattern, sometimes even tighter curl pattern depending on the climate, and the length hits me below my shoulders. I live in New Mexico, (Albuquerque), and we have negative-zero humidity here, and hard water.

So that poses some serious challenges when it comes to keeping my hair hydrated, bouncy and supple. HOWEVER: Be-Curly left my hair super FRIZZY and FLAT. LIFELESS. It looks charred. Burned. I have been using the Sap Moss Shampoo and Conditioner, and i absolutely love what it’s been doing for my hair out here, on the high desert.

BUT when i incorported BeCurly, it drained the life out of my hair. Please tell me, how it’s possible to have frizzy hair with zero humidity. I’ll tell you how— it’s this BeCurly formula– it dried out my hair.

Took out all the mouisture and conditioning that the Sap Moss shampoo and conditioner had put in. What a waste of money and effort. And the Aveda return process is too annoying for me. I can’t find my packing slip, and I REFUSE TO PAY FOR RETURN SHPPING COSTS on something that has failed me so completely.

I would give it a half star, to be honest. Not even worth a full star.

I turned to Aveda after committing to high-quality, eco-friendly hair care products. Be Curly Curl Enhancer does not disappoint! My aging hair is wavy-curly and this gives my curls a lovely bounce that lasts.

The fragrance is delicate and not overpowering, which is such a nice change of pace from other products I’ve used. My only complaint is that it feels just a bit heavy. The directions suggest “generous” use but I find I need to be very careful or it weighs my hair down and takes forever to dry.

Even so, my hair looks and feels so healthy. I plan to not run out!.

I’ve used this product on freshly washed and conditioned hair 4 times now. I’m still trying to find the right amount product for my hair. I like the smell and how soft it makes my hair feel but it’s still not controlling the frizz in under layers in the back, despite applying it on various ways.

I think the pump should be changed to a pump that doesn’t require you to pick up and grip the bottle because when you already have product on your hand from applying to the first section it’s next to impossible to pick up, grip the bottle and push down on the little pump with your finger.

A pump that allows you to leave the bottle on the counter and push down on the pump would work much better. Like a lotion bottle pump. I’m still working to love this product. The shampoo and conditioner arrived today so maybe that will make a difference.

I have thick, course, wavy/curly hair and I do color my hair (primarily root touch ups for the grays) every 6-8 weeks. I’ve been using the LUS product line for almost 8 months now and my curls have definitely made a comeback! I had moments of frustration but I’m so glad I stuck it out with the product line and watched the many tutorial videos because eventually the years of product build up dissipated and now my hair is the curliest and healthiest it has ever been since I was a little girl.

I have now tried all 3 All-in-One types (wavy, curly and kinky-coily). While it makes the most sense that the wavy or curly would work best for my curl type, the kinky-coily has actually given me the best curls and hold yet (my hair seems to react better to the thicker cream, maybe because my hair is so thick and course)! So depending on the look I’m going for, from a loose beach wave to a more tight curl, will depend on which All-in-One I decide to use for that day.

I received the shampoo & conditioner litres for Christmas, as well as the hair elixir (I was expecting the same scent I love about the shampoo/conditioner but there’s actually no scent in the elixir) and I was so excited because I LOVE my LUS products!! My curls truly are healthier now than they’ve ever been, especially after all the years of product build up and heat from flat/curling irons.

I thought I’d gotten into a routine with my mixed race wavy hair when a stylist told me I was just weighing it down with conditioners that were too heavy for me. Along with trying out a lighter shampoo and conditioner (not LUS) I tried out the LUS wavy styling product.

It works great. My waves are shiny and have great definition without excess volume. Refreshing with a spray bottle of water and a little product is an easy routine. I think I was over moisturizing before to make my hair more manageable.

But with a reliable styling product like this I don’t have to do that anymore. I’m experiencing less scalp irritation as well now that I’m not overloading with conditioners.
