20 Best Curl Activator For Straight Hair (2023 Updated)

This product has filled me with great satisfaction, it is incredible. It leaves my hair soft and silky. It has some very good ingredients for hair. They nourish and give strength from the root. Maui is one of my favorite brands, it is the best on the market.

My hair is long and your products make it look beautiful. In my house we have curly hair so it is very good to have a product that is friendly to our hair that is dry at times and needs a lot of hydration and care.

I highly recommend this product. It’s great!.

I have 4a/4c hair. I’ve used this product twice. So, it doesn’t readily absorb into my hair. I applied it by finger raking it through soaking wet hair in the shower. And this is the only product I used after thoroughly rinsing my conditioner.

However, after allowing my hair to set for 2 hours I blow dried it and the product sunk into my hair without a problem. I got super defined soft coils with effortless volume which I love. My biggest issue with this product is that something in the ingredients irritates my scalp.

I’m sitting here trying to focus on studying, but my scalp is itchy, and I don’t have time to do my hair again right now. So I will have to return this to the store. I’m quite disappointed as the price point, quantity, and performance are pretty satisfactory.

Oh well. Back to the drawing board.

I love this product! My hair was softer and the smell was soft. That’s how products should be. My hair didn’t lose it’s shape or dry out. The moisture didn’t chalk up. Will definitely buy this again!

I came across this searching through the Sally Beauty website. Thought I’d give it a try. It’s a thick product and for me a little goes a long way in sections. Bottle squeezes well. It provides acceptional hold to my sharpie curls.

I pair this with a leave in conditioner and sometimes i use too much of either and my hair looks heavy the second day. I try to concentrate this product on my hairs ends for that reason. Definitely great for 4 tier hair curls! Its cheap and smells good.

I’ve finally found a product that keeps my middle sons hair moisturized all day long. The shine is one that isn’t greasy and his hair is soft and silky without any dryness whatsoever. I highly recommend this product for anyone with natural hair care needs.

This is our new go to product for him. We will stock up ASAP.

This is my first time using this product after someone was raving about it and I have to say, I really like it. It makes my hair nice and smooth and tangle free. I will be purchasing more, in fact I’m going to get a bottle for myself and my grandgirls.

With this curl activating moisturizer, you can feel the enriched Argan oil curl that it gives your hair. It says curl Max and that is exactly what it do. Even the name shows, with its silk soft touch after applying a good amount of product to your hair.

This is my first time buying this product because I saw it at a reduced price. I haven’t used this on natural hair yet but will try. I would refer this product to others.

I’ve tried a lot of curl styling creams, sprays, lotions, and gels. Sometimes they worked, sometimes I had curls that were living their best 90’s life in crunchy land. Before I processed my hair into blown out submission, I had nice ringlet type curls, but after it was all blown out and straw like.

Unless I styled it, usually with a curling wand, it would be a mess that I kept bound in the all-purpose bun. Now this stuff didn’t work straight away, though that was probably my fault because I ignored the directions and kept adding a bunch because my hair is a thirsty beast and I thought it would take more product to do anything.

All that happened was I got weighed down hair that curled but didn’t feel right. So I tried again, the correct way, and the results were like night and day. I went from frizzled, gross, troll hair to actual natural curls.

My routine is to just apply it after my showers alongside the leave-in conditioner I also received. For the first time in YEARS I can actually let my hair air dry without it puffing up and looking unkempt.

I loved it so much I already ordered another bottle. BONUS: My nephew has frizzy curly corse hair, and just for fun, I tried it out on his hair and he had the same results. His curls have shape, his hair is smoother, and he can actually let his hair grow out more and not look like a little q-tip.

All in all, this product was a 100% win.

While on vacation, I took a sample of this along to try. I have naturally wavy hair that has been permed to be more curly. So, after shampooing, I towel dried my hair and used a leave-in conditioner.

Then I applied some of this all over and worked it in. I really loved the feel of it; slippery, but not oily. I used a fairly generous amount and then let it air dry. My hair loved it! I have a spot that is hard to work with; it’s kind of a frizzy patch (yuck).

It even worked great on that spot. My hair turned out curly and full and not frizzy. I liked it better than some other curl enhancing creams because it didn’t make it all crunchy. I’m going to buy the full size next.

I’m switching from my old brand to this.

This product had grown on me with continued use. Initially it was my least favorite of the three Mizani products I’ve been using; given the immense amount of products on the market, it didn’t stand out as a product I “have to have”.

In order to be absolutely certain of my opinion, I cut out all other hair care (styling) products. I found that this product works best as a last step. Using 2-3 pumps for my whole head, I ran the product through my detangled curls to evenly distribute it, followed by some targeted applications (in thicker areas) and some scrunching motions to get the best curl definition.

While it doesn’t advertise any kind of “hold”, I found it did provide some light hold that kept my curls naturally defined, less frizzy, and without any kind of crunchy stiffness or waxy residue! I even used this product and a few more from the Mizani brand on my 16 month old’s 3c tresses.

It has an amazing scent and a very nourishing formula that leaves my hair so so so soft! I have fallen in love with this product and Mizani as a “Budding Naturalista” ( I havent used any chemical relaxer is over a year).

If you are looking for great haircare perfect for ethnic hair, especially naturals, then Mizani is a brand worth checking out! I will be purchasing this product once this initial bottle is gone.

Not as helpful as I’d hoped it would be. Mostly feels like putting diluted old-school hairspray on my hair. Leaves a slight, but definite crunchy feeling, a pleasant smell, and a distinct dry look behind after spraying on damp hair and allowing to air dry (or “plopping” dry).

Does nothing to enhance the natural wave of my hair – which is at least partially due to my hair’s own quirkiness, but also partially due to ineffective Bounce Me. Probably would work much, much better in hair with a tighter curl to it.

I really wanted to like it after hearing lots of good things, and it’s not a bad product, just not for me.

I love the citrusy clean (and light) smell of this product. I strongly detest heavily fragranced products and all of the Design Me products that I’ve tried are faintly scented which is wonderful!! My hair is soft after use, and I don’t find that I have “whispy” hairs that can’t be tamed.

My hair is naturally wavy and I spray this product on damp (along with the Design Me leave in treatment), scrunch my hair, and I’m good to go! I find it has great volume as well! Very happy with this and all their products!.

Cannot find the words to describe this amazing product, these amazing products. I finally found a product that NEVER makes my hair crunchy no matter how much product I use, my hair is shiny and my curls have so much definition and volume.

I have so many of there products. This one is one of my favorites! My hair has never looked so healthy and GORGEOUS!!!.

Well it makes my hair curly but I notice my hair thin and breaks off after words. So no good for me but it might work for people with thicker natural hair. I really can’t say it will though. My hair is already natural thin and straight.

This product can be found at your local beauty supply store and your dollar stores. This is a go to product if your natural and on a budget. I use this on my natural hair to make my curls pop when my puff is frizzy.

I do receive some shrinkage. It’s not a problem for me because I only use this with a puff or a rush fro morning. This product leaves my hair soft and moisturized. I used this when I first started my natural journey both times and it help your hair grow like wild fire.

Even if your not natural try using it as a deep conditioner for relaxed hair!.

I absolutely LOVE this product for my naturally curly/wavy hair! I’ve been using it for years! It’s SUPER easy to apply, and it’s one of my secret must have products for my Beyonce natural curly/wavy hair days! It doesn’t act like gel or hairspray,it doesn’t make the hair hard or stiff at ALL,and doesn’t leave residue after use.

I like that when it dries, it makes a soft natural VERY defined wave or PERFECT ringlets. Like there’s no product in it at ALL. It HELPS eliminate frizz as well which is amazing. I love it. A tiny few sprays in your hand goes a long way! I highly recommend it, especially if you’re trying to get the MOST out of you’re curly hair,this Absolutely activates it! Great formulation that has worked on my hair for years.

Great on natural or bleached/color treated hair. You can find this product at a local drugstore or maybe Walmart.

I’ve used this product on freshly washed and conditioned hair 4 times now. I’m still trying to find the right amount product for my hair. I like the smell and how soft it makes my hair feel but it’s still not controlling the frizz in under layers in the back, despite applying it on various ways.

I think the pump should be changed to a pump that doesn’t require you to pick up and grip the bottle because when you already have product on your hand from applying to the first section it’s next to impossible to pick up, grip the bottle and push down on the little pump with your finger.

A pump that allows you to leave the bottle on the counter and push down on the pump would work much better. Like a lotion bottle pump. I’m still working to love this product. The shampoo and conditioner arrived today so maybe that will make a difference.

I have thick, course, wavy/curly hair and I do color my hair (primarily root touch ups for the grays) every 6-8 weeks. I’ve been using the LUS product line for almost 8 months now and my curls have definitely made a comeback! I had moments of frustration but I’m so glad I stuck it out with the product line and watched the many tutorial videos because eventually the years of product build up dissipated and now my hair is the curliest and healthiest it has ever been since I was a little girl.

I have now tried all 3 All-in-One types (wavy, curly and kinky-coily). While it makes the most sense that the wavy or curly would work best for my curl type, the kinky-coily has actually given me the best curls and hold yet (my hair seems to react better to the thicker cream, maybe because my hair is so thick and course)! So depending on the look I’m going for, from a loose beach wave to a more tight curl, will depend on which All-in-One I decide to use for that day.

I received the shampoo & conditioner litres for Christmas, as well as the hair elixir (I was expecting the same scent I love about the shampoo/conditioner but there’s actually no scent in the elixir) and I was so excited because I LOVE my LUS products!! My curls truly are healthier now than they’ve ever been, especially after all the years of product build up and heat from flat/curling irons.

I thought I’d gotten into a routine with my mixed race wavy hair when a stylist told me I was just weighing it down with conditioners that were too heavy for me. Along with trying out a lighter shampoo and conditioner (not LUS) I tried out the LUS wavy styling product.

It works great. My waves are shiny and have great definition without excess volume. Refreshing with a spray bottle of water and a little product is an easy routine. I think I was over moisturizing before to make my hair more manageable.

But with a reliable styling product like this I don’t have to do that anymore. I’m experiencing less scalp irritation as well now that I’m not overloading with conditioners.

I have the shampoo and conditioner and i knew i needed to finish this up with the Cantu Revitalizing Curl Activator with Acai Berry. I immediately fell in love with Cantu and know i needed to give this a try as well.

The scent is lovely and could not be any better. I used the curl activator after a great shower and used a little in my hair, and wow i was surprised i loved the way it boost my natural curl and it was frizz free.

I received so many compliments about my hair and glad i was not the only that noticed my hair was on point! Ladies and men definitely need to try this and get your curls on point!.

I have stravy hair, sometimes its wavy, sometimes its straight, sometimes it’s a mix. It has it’s own mood. It is frizzy, and I never thought in my life to try Cantu. I always tried to use all sorts of mainstream brands, thinking that Cantu was not targeted for my hair.

Once I put this in my hair, my locks were SO defined, and not frizzy. My hair stayed bouncy with so much more life! I will never go back to anything else, ever. This is the best!.

I bought this after Cantu hair products were suggested to me. My hair hair hasn’t been this curly and tamed in years! Loved it so much I’ve gone back out to get the shampoo and conditioner!

Favorite leave in so far. It helps detangle, it’s thick enough but not to much, leave the hair with no residue and helps keep them healthy

I got this at the store today because I am trying to embrace my wavy hair for the summer and put less heat on it. I originally went to get the lightweight curl cream and figured I would get both. I tried this today on day 2 hair and I’m pretty impressed.

It reformed my curls and took the frizz away. The only reason I deducted a star is because I felt like I needed to spray my hair with water to get the full effect. I was hoping this alone would do the trick.

I will still continue to use this though and maybe on day 3,4,5 I can use without water. I have hair extensions as well and it works on them too. I have fine hair and so far I don’t think it’s made my hair greasy.

Good product if you’re staring to embrace your natural hair like me.

Ordered this 3-piece kit and absolutely love the shampoo and the leave-in or 3-way conditioner. Formerly my hair was ultra thick, curly, and long. After a fall and some bad joint health, the majority of my lush hair is gone.

Now my hair is very short, very sparse, and somewhat lifeless, especially in the dry and hot climate I now reside. This shampoo and conditioner work better at bringing some life back. At the very least, the day following the nighttime usage is pretty good as I don’t have to stress as much with patching “holes” to my scalp.

I would recommend! I have now ordered larger sizes to hopefully refill these very small sizes so I can use traveling.

Okay, so I’m not sure if this is CG approved or not. But, if it’s not, WHO CARES? This stuff is AWESOME! First, I mist my hair with water. I do not drench my hair. I just give my hair a really good spray.

Second, I spray the Bumble and Bumble Activator all over my hair approximately two rounds. Lastly, I NEVER touch my hair again with my bare hands or finger’s. After spraying my Bumble and Bumble Curl Activator, I begin to PLOP, scrunch and swirl my curls.

I have attached a video to show PLOPPING. Ladies, if you’re using this properly, you’ll love your second, third and fourth day hair MUCH more than “just washed”!.

I’m a sucker for trying new products, so when I saw this one while browsing in the store, I convinced myself I needed it lol. It smells fantastic, and the bottle and colors are pretty. The consistency is thick like hand lotion, and applies to the hair smoothly.

It does leave white residue while applying, which I was a little nervous about, but it dries nicely and didn’t last long at all. Normally I would knock a star off for that reason alone, but it goes away quickly.

So far, I like it, and my curls are kind of popping today!😍.

This Activator Cream is great. I used it a couple of times on my daughter hair and it makes her curls pop. It smells so good. The packaging is cute. The only downfall about this product is that it’s makes you hair fell and look greasy after drying and it has a weird smell to it after drying.

It’s smells kind of like Mayo. It’s a great product it’s gets the job done but it’s just that after smell that bothers me. I am the type of person that always gives products a second try. So I will try this again and see if the same thing happens.

Nozzle is inconsistent spray. Davroe curl activator has gentle hold. Hair needs to be damp to activate curl product . I feel it wasnt as effective or dry hair
