20 Best Cups For Weaning Off Bottle (2023 Updated)

We received the starter cup and straight out of the packaging our 5 month old was interested! He instinctively grabbed hold of the handles, and found it straightforward enough to bring to his mouth. However he’s currently not quite mastered the sucking action required to actually get any liquid out! We will keep persevering, although we are also considering trying him with a free flowing spout cup design too.

The design itself is great for little hands, and the glow in the dark handle a nice feature which I’m sure would come into its own later down the line when he is wanting to take a drink himself at nighttime.

The cup was flung across the room from a height (the high chair!), and there were no spills and no damage to the bottle which is just what we need as most things our little boy gets his hands on end up on the floor at the moment! Our little boy is EBF so we were introducing some water alongside some initial weaning – so it might be that a baby who regularly takes a bottle would find this cup far easier to get along with from the off.

I now have this bottle for around a month and it’s been heavily used! I think this is a great step in between teats and open cups. The design is very nice and I like the quality of the plastic (like all MAM products I’ve been using so far).

I find it very easy to wash and assemble as well. I did not use the handles yet (they are glowing in the dark) but maybe later, when my baby is a bit older I’ll be leaving the bottle with her in her bed.

She is also not a big fan of using the handles when she is sitting. I almost think that it’s easier for her to grab the bottle without handles! And she easily holds the bottle as it is so light and easy for her small fingers.

The other thing that I noticed is that this type of teat is not very easy to suck from. My 6. 5 months old is struggling (even I struggled a bit when I tried it). Probably worth making the opening a bit bigger.

I received this just over a week ago and was impressed my the look and feel of this starter cup. It’s glow in the dark so easy to find day or night! This cup holds the perfect amount of water to start with and my 5 month old baby got a grip of holding it quicker than expected.

I particularly liked the cute animal design on the side and pink bottle, 4 year old girl definitely agreed too. While this product is easy to hold and great design my 5 month old has not yet got to grips with drinking from it.

She’s certainly getting closer to accepting it and as it’s her first sippy cup it may take longer than nearly two weeks to master it. She is taking small sips from it though, and every day she seems to be accepting it just that bit longer.

Durable, colorful product that is sturdy and does not leak. I think that this is a great sippy cup for my son’s age since he is a new toddler (1 year old). He uses it and it is very straightforward, unlike other products I’ve seen in stores and online.

It doesn’t have many parts to it which make it convenient and easy to use and clean. The only reason why I noted four stars is because the beautiful colors in the pictures rubbed off a little bit after one wash.

My child won’t even notice this though so not a big deal. I feel like this product will last for awhile in our house. Also, it came in a nice package which is always appealing to the eye.

What a great product! This is one of the best sippy cups i have ever used. It has a tight seal and doesnt leak at all from the rim of the cup or from the drinking spout. It is easy to clean and the rubber spout seal comes off simply to be cleaned which is great, because that part tends to grow mold and can be difficult to clean.

My daughter is doing well with this cup. I really like the removable handles also. This cup is very well made with a nice durable high quality plastic. Also the design is super cute. Definitely recommend this product and all products from this brand.

I received this product from Tommee Tippee to try out. So far I am happy with this product and would purchase. It is very easy to clean & put together. I like that you can use with or without the handles, perfect for when baby is ready to transition and makes putting it in the diaper bag easier.

My baby loves the cup too, he’s teething and loves to chew on the spout part which is some kind of material other than plastic…so it makes a squeaky sound when he chews on it. This cup also doesn’t make a mess when he drinks like the ones with soft nipples do.

This is a great cup & would recommend!.

Our baby learned how to drink from this sippy and it doesn’t leak which is nice. I like having a lid as an option for travel and having around pets just to cover the nipple when needed, but we had to rip off the lid since it would flop shut on her face as she drank.

The lid can be popped back on if needed but isn’t intended to come off and on. I don’t understand why the handles rotate on this cup and won’t stay put. Makes it hard for baby to handle and know which way is up/down for the nipple as they try to put it to their mouth.

I like some of our other sippy cups better but they don’t all have the lid option.

I love Dr. Brown bottles even if they were a pain to clean, so I thought transitioning to the training cup under the same brand would be a success. It wasn’t. The nipple is so hard and difficult to clean.

The handles are separated from the cover so washing multiple pieces gets annoying.

Great sippy. Not complicated to put together and never leaks! Love the cover to protect the mouth piece too. The measurements (oz and ml) come in handy, especially since my daughter has been in the hospital for about 5 months, so we can easily keep track of how much of her required formula she is getting at each feed.

I even had my husband drive home to get it vs using what the hospital gives us! My only complaint is that the handles are not in a fixed position and that piece can rotate around the whole cup. So it is not very easy for my daughter, who is relearning how to hold it herself, to grab it and just put it in her mouth in a normal position.

You have to turn the handles around to be adjacent to the spout. That is really annoying. Other than that too, the Occupational Therapist here said that this is a fantastic cup that she wishes they had here because of the amount of suction needed to get the milk (and you don’t have to worry about them getting too much too fast) which would be a huge benefit for some of her patients!.

This beaker is just fabulous! I’ve honestly tried every bottle on the market and this is by far the best! It will definitely leak if the little rubber piece isn’t fitted correctly. It takes a lot for it to budge once in place so make sure once you wash it you place it back PROPERLY.

The previous negative comment makes me think this has happened because there’s just no way it will come off unless you physically take it off yourself. My little one constantly throws his feeding cup and it never moves.

I have 4 of these beautiful colours/patterns now and my little man just loves them. It’s twice the volume/size as most cups too so less filling. From a Mama of a little baby who drinks constantly, don’t hesitate in this purchase, worth every penny.

First, I’ll talk about the look of the cup! I sometimes hate when companies put prints or character pics on their products, but I love the cute little cacti and space dinosaurs are always a win. My little Edison loves that this cup has the handles, because they work so much better for his teeny hands to grip than having to grasp around the entire cup.

Edison didn’t have any problems drinking from the straw and we have had the cup for over a week without spills! I like that the straw part can be covered to be kept clean versus a sippy cup where the mouth piece is always exposed.

Not going to lie, I taste tested to make sure that it truly kept his drink cool, and it was definitely kept cool even after sitting out for a bit. I wish we could also get this cup in a little bit smaller of size for when I don’t want him to drink too much before bed.

I tried these in so many ways, one with the pieces to hold the cup and another without. I felt that it’s great for growing kids with the ability to remove and have the cup held without the additional pieces, but for small hands, it’s quite handy.

The nubs around the bottle make it a bit easier to grab and hold on to. The insulated cup design really makes it stay cool and protected from ever breaking so easily due to a fall. I did find it a bit hard to open the top, but it was quite a good way to prevent any spills by accident.

Though, to shut and open it to reveal the straw, is a bit difficult until you get the hang-of-it. Also, another thing about the cup that is attached to the lid is that the straw needs much pressure from one’s mouth to get the liquid up the straw.

Antoher thing that needs a person to get use too. Other than that, it’s really a nice cup. The different designs on the two are very child friendly and cute. It’s something that amuses and keeps my child happy to drink from.

Plus, getting to choose which one they want to drink is also a pleasure of her. Great quality product, design and even if a bit of things to get use too, it does make the two cups more protected from spills, damage, and drinking too fast with the straw.

My child and I have been using the Dr. Browns Milestones Insulated Skippy Cups for about two weeks now. So far we are very happy with them. With being a mom of several children I have always had a hard time finding a sippy cup that does leak, spill or make a mess.

So far the Dr. Browns Milestones Insulated Sippy Cup has passed all of these test. It doesn’t spill, leak or make a mess; especially when the insert is put in the lid. Even though are several parts to this cup it is fairly easy to clean.

I have this Easy Sip Cup for my 12 months old boy and it was perfect choice to move on from bottle and other cups with handles. Rippled design of this cup making easy to hold it with little hands. Cup and spout cover have clear blue colour and the screw-on lid is green.

Screw-on lid is secure, easy to put on and take off and does not cause any leaking. One piece silicone spout making easy and quick to assemble and there is minimum effort needed when cleaning. This cup is spill free unless spout being squeezed when upside down.

Spout is made from soft silicone and it made me little bet concerned at first if is not going to be bitten of but my little one been very gentle with it so far. This cup looks quite small and I was surprised it takes 260 ml of liquid.

The like the Avent Easy Sippy Cups. My toddler still had not given up on his baby bottle at 18 months. I felt like the silicone spout would help him transition from the baby bottle to a sippy cup. The first few days he fought it and hardly used them.

Now at his second week, he is doing much better at accepting them. I personally think that the silicone spout may be better for his jaw development than the sippy cups that have a hard plastic spout.

The bottle comes with 3 pieces: the bottle’s body, the silicone spout, and the ring that connects the body to the spout. Because it is only 3 pieces, it is easy to clean. Most sippy cups come with a plastic that makes the spill proof, but is also very hard to clean and more prone to mold in that areas.

I am glad that the Avent Easy Sippy Cups don’t have that extra part to them. I love that they come with a cover for the spout, because it makes it easy to take them on the go without worrying about the spout getting dirty.

I like the cup because it is very cute, it is ergonomically the right size and weight for little hands, It is spill proof and she can carry it around, inside is glass so she’s not exposed to plastic, it is very easy to disassemble and clean quickly.

The handles are the perfect size and shape Glass inside is thin but not unreasonably so. if it were much thicker that would make the glass so much heavier. I think that the weight is at the sweet spot because when you fill the cup with liquids and you factor in the weight of the glass it is heavy but still comfortable for a little baby and probably should not be any heavier.

This is great sip and straw cup. I really like how durable and well made it is. The lid actually stays on this cup and it isn’t easy for my little one to take it off and make a mess. The juice or whatever contents in the cup actually stay in the cup instead of a mess all over the house.

The baby has deopped this cup to many times to count and it looks brand new. The doesn’t even have any marks on it or breaks from it falling all the time or the baby dropping it on purpose. I really like how easy I can clean and and sterilize all the parts of this cup.

I also really like that the cup comes with the lid and a straw. The glass is very durable and strong. I was worried about giving a toddler glass but this has actually held up perfectly. I am buying a few more of these cups just because of how durable they are.

I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old. It Was hard at first to get my 2 year old to switch to sippy cups when he was one and after the baby was born he wanted to be just like his baby brother. I had tried other sippy cups for my 2 year old before the baby was born and he would not take any of them.

Once the baby turned 1 year old, I saw these in store at Walmart and decided to buy and try to transition both my kids to sippy cup now. I really love these cups. Both my babies didn’t even notice the difference! I thought I would have a had time and that they wouldn’t like it, but they just grabbed it as if it were any regular bottle.

I highly recommend these. My 2 year old did bite the Nipple and now milk flows out, which is a nuisance but I understand because he’s a big boy he probably wasn’t getting enough milk out, unlike my 1 year old that drinks from this cup perfectly fine.

Sometimes the Nipple gets sucked in and no milk will flow out, then I have to let the air in by unscrewing the top, but I’ve noticed it just depends on how they drink from it because it doesn’t always do that.

My 1 year old still drinks milk at night while he’s sleeping and I give him this cup and he drinks from it fine, he doesn’t choke, milk doesn’t overflow, its perfect for feedings at night. I love this cup and I will be buying more.

I used these nuk sippy kids years ago when transitioning my kids off of a bottle. When my oldest turned 1 and switched to milk, he would refuse to drink out of any sippy cups that we had, so my sister, who has older kids, let us try her nuk cup out.

He immediately took to it and began drinking the milk. The mouthpiece is soft and must feel similar to a bottle nipple. It was a great transition cup at the time. My kids are now a bit older and have no issue with open cups but they still request that milk be served in a nuk sippy.

Apparently it brings them a sense of relaxation and comfort and I have no issue letting them continue using these with their milk. Important to note- Once your kids get a mouth full of teeth they will start chewing on the top and it was nice to find out that you can purchase replacement tops separately for when they are needed.

These learner sippy cups are the exact ones ive used to wean my last 2 children off the bottle. And both times it was quite easy doing so thanks to the design of this cup. The bottle itself is for the most part shaped like a bottle so the little ones still feel like they are holding a bottle and i think this gives them the comfort they’ve becone used to with their baby bottle.

We have been using the Munchkin straw cups (the weighted ones) for about a year before becoming SO sick of how they would push milk up the straw. They were so leaky and horrible. In my search, I found these cute straw cups.

Firstly, the design is adorable. I love the little animals on the front! Secondly, this cup does not push liquid up anywhere near as much as Munchkin. It still does maybe every other day for some reason but maybe there is something I need to be doing.

Overall, we greatly prefer these cups and will continue to use these. The price point is amazing! We have been able to throw all the parts in the dishwasher with no problem.

I got this for my son to try out since it has bigger handles and it was so much easier for him to use. The short cup made it so he could really pick up the cup and do it own his own. We only had to help him open and close the top to get to the straw.

We liked that this bottle had bigger handles so that he could get a grip easily and that it was short but still able to hold a decent amount of liquid so that we weren’t refilling often. The pieces separated easily to be cleaned thoroughly which was a great quality for us.

It was mostly spill proof aside from the little bit of juice that was in the tip of the straw. Which brings me to pretty much the only complaint I had with the cup, was that the tip of the straw would drip juice from it.

My little guy learned he could flick the tip of the straw after he drank and it would shoot out little drops of juice everywhere. A few drops of juice to the face and a car window covered later and we still can’t get him to stop flicking the juice from inside the tip of the straw.

Overall it’s a great cup though.

My husband purchased these to replace the Munchkin Sippy cups that are similar. These are definitely leak proof. Originally he thought he had purchased one 10 dollar cup, but was so tired of the leaky Munchkins he was willing to pay it.

He was pleasantly surprised when I told him it was a two pack, pink and purple. My daughter used to shake her water out of her other cups and she cannot do that with these. She is able to drink from all angles, but when it’s nearly empty I need to shake the weight down.

Love these so much I bought 4 of them! The silicone nipple and sippy stage nipples are soft but holds shape well. They do not leak!! For real! My grandson is 10 months old and using the sippy nipple and when he drinks, it’s like he’s drinking a bottle, it conforms to his mouth and he controls the flow.

I think it’s genius that they included two different stage nipples! You can take the handle off also and use it like a bottle, Comes with a nipple cover as well. The ounces are marked on the side and that is the only thing I wish they would have done differently, the markings need to be darker.

If I could leave less than one star I certainly would. Bought these for our great grandson as hes already transitioning to being close to a cup. However the nipple that he uses won’t give him much milk it frustrated him and it frustrates great grandpa too.

I already took all the labels off and got them washed for use as they are the same brand and I thought the same exact type as what he was using in the smaller 8 oz version. Boy was I wrong I sure would be sending these back if I Hadn’t already thrown out all the packaging.

Wow lots of complaining reviews on here. Almost all silly cups like these leak. The spout is very soft bc this is a training cup. It is most baby’s first cup. So it’s soft for their little mouths. The flow is loose so that baby doesn’t have to work hard to get liquid.

Yes it’s a lot. Yes they dribble a lot of it when they’re learning. My baby is 9 months and still getting the hang of it but gets most of it in her mouth now. The spout really isn’t that hard to get back in like a lot of people say.

Again it’s soft so it’s easy to maneuver. After a few months it does start to leak more through the tip. So I just replace it. It’s only 2$. So not an expensive cup. All in all easiest first cup for little hands and mouths to use.

I have 5 kids and they all have used these as babies. They are great inexpensive cups and don’t have a ton of parts to clean and put back together. These are easy to clean and easy for babies to use.

They don’t leak for me bc I try to make sure I have it put back together really well after cleaning. Once my kids had more teeth though they would bite these and then they would leak but they did that to any soft tip sippy.

For only a couple of dollars, I don’t expect them to be as good as more expensive ones but for but for ease of use, cleaning and the size I’ll def keep buying them.

It took me over a year to find a sippy cup that my son would actually drink out of. This is the only one that he actually likes. I love that it comes in so many different colors, and its nice to be able to take off the handles if you want to.

The only real problem is that the second stage nipple they can be very hard to clean. I accidentally poked through two of them when I first started washing these. I had to buy replacement nipples because the flow became too fast from accidentally widening the hole.

You also have to have a very very small brush to fit in the tiny grooves in the stage 2 nipple part. Sadly walmart doesnt carry the replacements, the only place to get them is off of the Nuby website.

Besides that, not a bad sippy cup.

Despite what other reviewers say this cup is SO DIFFICULT to drink from. It took me and my husband a couple tries to figure it out but you have to bite on it while sucking to get the liquid to flow. Baby will not be able to figure this out for some time (only 11 months).

I will try to return this. Only buy if your child can follow multi step instructions to know how to use this.

This cup is absolutely amazing my 10-month-old adores it so much love the fact that spill proof. Love that you have the option to close the top of the cup. Easy to use cup. Love that the cup drop in piece is silicone easy to remove and clean.

I so highly recommend if you have not tried this product for your child that it is something that you absolutely should.

It’s the *most* leak proof sippy we’ve tried, although it’s not perfect. My toddler also sometimes has trouble with sucking liquid out, like the pressure inside is off and we have to redo the straw components.

This. sippy cup bottle is not baby friendly with its attractive character designs but also makes for an excellent transition bottle for that tough little one not wanting to give up the bottle.

It has a clean and simple design that functions just how it should with accessories sold separately if any become lost or damaged. I have not received any drawback from my son; 2 years old which unfortunately a bottle has become his bobo and a tough habit to break in our household leading to exhausting nights.

This sippy cup bottle design has great suction and is easy to use for him without any discomfort. This is a great starter cup to transition baby from a bottle. The spout is soft and very similar to a nipple to make it easier to get baby to switch from using a bottle. The liquid also doesn’t come out too fast and it’s spill proof for little ones who may drop or throw their cups.

Another plus is that this cup has a cap. Usually when you switch over to cups, none of them have caps/lids. The cup is light weight and has non slip handles to makebit easier for baby to hold themselves.

A plus for parents is that all of the pieces easily cone apart for cleaning. Overall, this is a great starter cup to try when weaning your baby from the bottle.

I have been holding out getting sippy cups trying to find right size and one with handles for my 7 month old twins. Since they were preemies they’re just a bit behind every other baby in their monthly stages, but NOT WITH DRINKING FROM A SIPPY CUP!!! Thanks to this sippy cup both of them are drinking from the sippy cups with no help.

The cups are just the right size (not too heavy or bulky where the babies can’t keep a hold on them) And ofcourse the handles are perfect. Everything cleans up so easy. Love these and definitely recommending them to ALL my mama friends.

Was a little concerned about the flow after reading some of the reviews but desperate to get my 24 month old to stop drinking his milk from bottles. He drinks everything else out of cups but will not let go of his milk in a bottle.

At first he was excited about Mickey Mouse on his new bottle, but when milk time came around he was weary about drinking from it. Thanks to this ingenious sippy cup-bottle hybrid design, he finally drank his milk not in a bottle! It only took him a couple of seconds to figure out how to best drink from it.

The bottle is super easy to clean and love that it’s dishwasher safe. Will be buying another and really hopeful this will open the door to transitioning to milk in a cup.

Had opted out of this campaign, but still received this product and didn’t think I would use it. However, my youngest (10) always has a drink for throughout the night and has poor co ordination with her autism.

the fact that you can tip this bottle upside down and it doesn’t leak literally blows my mind. gone are the days of those so called sippy cups that don’t leak and it gets left on its side and an aweful stain is left on the carpet! I also love the fact that baby can just out the cup to their mouth and drink aswell, there’s no hunting for the spout.

I also love that this cup glows in the dark making it a lot easier to find when the lights are off. the subtle non slip features on the bottom of the cup and on the handles are a bonus feature fir sure.
