20 Best Crossbow Scope For 400 Fps (2023 Updated)

Nice scope. I keep reading in the reviews that it does not magnify or it’s blurry. It’s a varitable scope, not a high resolution scope. To clear up the image you need to turn the eye piece until you get a clear picture of your target.

To do that you need to slip off the rear lens cover first. Once you get it set at the varitable speed (your correct bow speed) it should be clear at all ranges. Took me about 2 hours to get it dialed in out to 40.

I am using a very common crossbow with a very common crossbolt: Barnett Whitetail Hunter with a 479 grn. Piledrive. I found that 340 is the perfect varitable speed to set this scope to for this combination.

That should have your first pin (being the triangle) dead on at 20 yards. Second pin being the next dot down being dead on at 30 and the third dot being dead on at 40. Not sure about any further out but it should fall into place all the way out with your varitable speed being set correctly.

I only take bow shots out to 40 so I’m really not that concerned with shots any further out. Hope this helps someone out.

After about 100 shots from sighting in and letting the kids practice a seal fell out and now the ocular lens rattles around. Extremely disappointed in the quality because of that. It didn’t get bumped or snagged on anything, it just came out.

Also the tiny screws that mount the windage and elevation knobs are loosening up. Otherwise I loved the scope. It’s clear and dead on accurate. I love the reticle. And of course the seal came out on opening day of crossbow season.

I bought this as a replacement for the same one that was damaged by an accident. They are not the best scope out there, but definitely good enough for the money to replace. Clarity is great, reticle works flawlessly.

Only complaint I personally have is when illuminated, the light causes glare on the scope that you can’t even see through on high power red setting and any power blue.

I recently watched an outdoor TV show that featured your product. The tech seemed knowledgeable about the product. However when hunting with it he totally missed the first deer and then wounded another that was never recovered! The rep obviously was tech savvy but lacked hunting and shooting skill! Not the kind of person too represent your product.

This scope is just incredible, it’s a little pricey, but it gets the bolt in the bullseye every time. Calibration is simple it actually walks you through it. It ranges, locks on let’s you know exactly when you’re locked on and ready for your shot.

I highly recommend this scope. It’s bigger than I actually thought, but it is completely computerized and calculates everything in seconds. If you got a good quality bow this is a must have.

This has got to be one of the most remarkable scopes I have ever used in my life. The scope is a bit pricey but I feel it is definitely worth it’s weight in gold. It is very easy to navigate and setup and once you’re done with that part it’s just aim and shoot.

It’s amazing how far technology has come and garmin hit the nail right on the head, to you I tip my hat Garmin!.

I have been a Nikon fan for a long time. WOW, I have been missing out. For a crossbow scope, this is real nice. The optics are just fantastic. I shoot a crossbow with a chronograph at 413 labs. I have it sighted to 60 yards.

It’s all the distance I had. I held a three inch pattern from a “not so sturdy” platform but I was guite happy with those results. Just a fantastic scope. Once you have your twenty yard set, the further back you go, the more accurate it becomes.

The graduations are spot on. The optics are crystal clear. The lighted reticle works great. I love how the intensity adjustment works, just like a dimmer. It is very easy to adjust the windage and elevation.

Nice sturdy dust caps. A real nice scope for the money.

Bought it with past experience of their rifle scopes. The 40yard marker as the main crosshair is where it went wrong for us. We typically do 20y and nothing further than 30y. If you’re into longer shots then you may benefit from this scope.

The brightness is there. Great glass but the reticle is not practicle enough for us. The size of the digits/numbers is something we found too small as well. Vortex includes rings, lens covers and a neoprene cover.

but the ridiculously small reticle and a 40yard main crosshair caused us too much head ache.

Bought a year ago I payed full price for this scope and would do it a again. I put it on an inexpensive Centerpoint370 and can hit a soft ball at 100 yards consistently within 30 minutes after mounting it.

The groups only get tighter as you move closer to the target (every 10 yard increment was bang on). The green/red illumination is nice because the reticle has numbers 20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100 which are a little smaller and could be difficult to read if your not all that young anymore.

BUT at the same time I think the numbers are a good size, you don’t want them filling up the reticle. Also the glass was way better than expected zero problem hunting at dusk.

I bought this scope as an upgrade but it was a downgrade I would have it sighted in perfect then go out in the field with it and shot at a deer! The shot was way off and I was right on at 25 yards so I took it back shot it at the target and it was way off! So I was thinking maybe I bumped it! Well fast forward I sighted it in perfect again strapped it down in it case had a giant buck come by at 30 yards I shot and the bolt went right over the top of the deer! I got out of the woods went to shoot it at 20 yards again at the target and it didn’t even hit the target! DO NOT BUY!.

Only thing I had issues with. The shipping the scope came inside a bigger box but NO PACKAGING MATERIAL TO PROTECT SINCE WAS A SCOPE BEING SHIPPED. This is Cabela’s issue. 2nd There were NO instructions with scope on torque specifications for mounting screws or sighting in procedures.

Bear issue??.

while hunting this year my wife and I got caught in a storm. the factory scope fogged up the next day and resulted in a missed opportunity at a nice bull. The fogged scope resulted in a 220 mile round trip to replace it.

This scope was has easy to follow zeroing instructions and within an hour I was hitting the target consistently out to 80 yards. we will see how it does over time but as of today this scope is worth every penny!.

Took two of us about an hour to get her dialed in. Was relatively easy once you get the first step done! Sighted it in without the range finder at 20. Wasn’t much to do 2” to the right, a few clicks and bullseye! Next did 35-50-75 yards set up per instructions and unbelievable within 3” at 75yds and 1” at 35 over and over again.

Only reason for 4 stars is when I zoom out to 7 power and try to locate the target, the orbital eye is not in the same place as say 4 power, so you have to rotate your head to find light then locate target with your head and eye not in the same place as your normal position.

Not going to work out in the blind without a proper rest and the deer standing broadside and not moving for a few minutes while trying to find it in your scope let alone putting the little red dot on him! That’s not happening! Confusing but you will understand once yours is mounted.

All in All cool tool! I will keep messing with it and when i find the proper adjustment to fix the orbital eye issue, I will post it!.

Bought this scope with new Seige cross bow summer of 2021. Easy to follow tuning directions with your particular bow speed and spot on accuracy for ranges I feel are prudent for game. (up to 50 yds).

For targets much farther. Killed a beautiful 13 point in Illinois Fall of 21! You can range and site in your target quickly by simply pushing a button, and I like the fact if your battery dies while hunting, you still have a visible site pin to utilize! The price is also half of what other range finding scopes on the market, but this one is simpler to use, with a less distracting, uncluttered field of view! Works on all game!! I don’t guess distance anymore! Can’t wait till Fall!!!.

I just received this after waiting several months for it. The scope is and engineering masterpiece and was easy to mount on my Mission Sub 1. I quickly and easily sighted it in at 20 yards and now need to go to the range to true the scope which after reading the directions and watching the video should be fairly easy.

If you buy one pay close attention to the locking screws on the windage and elevation adjustments. I initially shot this and it was hitting very close to center but found that it seemed to wander. The scope was shopped with the locking screws completely loose which really suprised me when I figured it out.

So after I discoverd this I needed tp start the sight in process over again. One big negative at this time is that there is no scope cover included in the package. I called Burris and was told that they are working on it and will hopefully have one available later this year.

They also couldn’t recommend a generic brand that might fit the scope as the size and shape of it is a bit odd. It seems a little unbelieveable that they would have gone through all the R & D to bring this to market and not had a cover to ship with it.

A simple neoprene stretch style cover would suffice. How difficult would that have been.

Hawke did it right with the 28 magnification crossbow scope. With the slightly higher magnification it works very well with the slower crossbows like the Excalibur Micro 335’s by providing higher magnification at the low end.

At the higher speeds of the fastest crossbows like the Ravin’s it really shines with even higher magnification than others’ scopes. The reticle is simple and not cluttered with its small crosshairs from 20 yards on out to 100 yards.

But wait, there’s more! It has ballistic windage holdover dots on the reticle all the way out to 100 yards as well! With a little bit of practice in the wind to verify windage holds this reticle is a blessing at longer ranges, even in light winds.

The only drawback to the whole scope is when the illumination is turned on the only thing that is illuminated is the center column of crosshairs, and not the yardage numbers or windage holdover dots.

Therefore, at dawn and dusk when many shots happen on game, this requires you make sure that you are using the correct crosshair for the distance to the target and concentrate to see the windage dot if shooting in the wind.

Hawke might be the best crossbow scope manufacturer. I have bought 3 scopes for each of my crossbows. They are absolutely crisp and clear and unbelievably accurate. I can not say a bad thing about them.

I love the illuminated circle reticles on my old scopes and I will have to adjust to the new one. It has yardage all the way out to 100 yards and also has windage adjustments up to 20mph. Pretty sophisticated.

I am a huge fan. I highly recommend taking off your cheap factory scope and getting a Hawke, like they say, they have perfected the crossbow scope. and I agree!.

After testing several scopes for my Killer Instinct 415 crossbow I am happy to say I’ve found a perfect match with the Hawke XB30 Compact 1. 5-636 SR scope. It was easy to zero at 20 yards. Then 30 yards I adjusted the speed ring as instructed and the other reticles matched well with the speed of the crossbow.

After a few more test the final speed ring setting was 415 fps. Once the binocular focus was set it remained in great focus for all ranges. See photos for shots out to 90 yards This is the only scope I tested that stays focused at all ranges without adjusting the fast focus.

It’s clear and has illumination for dark periods. The reticle design/layout is awesome with fast reference for each 5 and 10 yard range indicated plus 10 mph windage allowances. With a life time warranty I am confident in my shots.

The scope used for the Ravin R10 is a great crossbow scope. It is equipped with speed compensation and dots on the reticle to aim accurately out to 100 yards. The optics are clear even in dusk conditions.

If you can see it well with your eyes, you can aim with the scope. The variable red or green dot brightness is nice, and helps when aiming at darker colored objects, particularly if they are in shadows that obscure the dots, which get very fine.

The big advantage of the R10 scope over the comparable TenPoint model is the dots go out to 100 yards instead of 60. The big advantage over other 100 yard crossbow scopes I came across is the use of dots that do not obstruct your view.

The installation was easy, and by using the instructions that can be found in the Ravin R10/R20 users manual, sighting in and adjustment of the speed compensation are straightforward, and when done, the crossbow is sighted in out to 100 yards.

For the $100 I paid (new in an unopen box), it’s a great value, far exceeding expectations. I had planned to sell the scope that came with my crossbow, but I like this scope so much that I would swap it back and move this one to a new crossbow if I ever decide to upgrade.

If I had a complaint it would be that the lighted dots, even turned all the way down, arebright in extreme dusk situations. Fortunately, these aren’t situations when shooting needs to happen. If I could add a feature, it would be having the crosshair wings, which serve to aid in gauging distance, were also lit, as I find myself pulling the scope up to judge, then back down.

All in all, a great crossbow scope. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a 100 yard capable crossbow scope.

I got this to replace the scope that came with my Rocky mountain rm 405. Far better quality optics. Chrystal clear glass. Some say the reticle is to cluttered. I don’t think so. I really like having each yardage line marked instead of having to count or remember yardages.

The illumination is spot on. And it only lights up what it’s supposed to. And the brightness settings are all usable no matter bright light or low light outside. All the adjustments feel quality and positive.

Takes a little while to get dialed in but that’s part of the fun. Pretty impressive to be able to shoot up to one hundred yards accurately with a crossbow. Of course that’s target practice only. Actual hunting conditions I’d personally never go past fifty yards.

These sell lots of different places in the three hundred dollar range new. I wouldn’t pay that for one. But if you can get one of the factory take offs like I did for around a hundred dollars I would definitely recommend the upgrade.

The take offs are new scopes where someone decided to go with some other scope instead of the factory one. Mine was new in the box. Never mounted.

Only had this on a week but believe difference between factory scope that came on my crossbow and this one. So much clearer now and after easily sighting the scope in the fps adjustment got 20-60yds rite on the dots with in just a few arrows and setting it to match my crossbow/arrow combo (I don’t have room to shoot farther) which was never quite right before.

Great upgrade from the factory scope I was using!.

I just bought the Titan M1package with the 3x Pro-View 3 scope. I went to zero in the bow for the first time last weekend. It shot high 3 inches at 20 yards. I made adjustments and got it to shoot good groups at 20 and 30 yards.

I went to go shoot at 40 yards and it’s 5 inches high and the scope is bottomed out. I cannot adjust downward any further. I called TenPoint. They are willing to create an RMA for me, but they have a 2 to 3 week turn-around time.

Apparently there is a shortage of TenPoint scopes. I even asked them if I could pay and upgrade to the next level scope. They didn’t seem to want to do that. They recommended I go back to the place where I bought it to see if they can do anything about it.

I let the Support Rep know that’s a 3. 5 hour drive from the house. I know I can probably re-center the scope and add shim(s), but this is not what you would expect from a new bow package, especially when they advertise they zero the bow at 20 yards.

Should come with a variable speed ring at this price point. Need to compromise between yardage and holdover marks for accuracy. Like the reticle and dont find the illumination to be too bright. Adjustments seem somewhat accurate.

No stated fps rating is annoying.

Got this scope as an upgrade for the RDX 400. I chose this scope over the hawk xb30. Because it’s shorter and lighter, and there is less going on in the reticle. Only 3 lines and then 2 dots below the lines.

Not a fan of lines to 100 yards and windage points the hawk has, to much going on when your in the stand trying to get a shot at a deer that you may only have a second or 2 before he is out of your shooting lane.

This scope is just right with the amount of aiming points for hunting related uses. Don’t have any issues seeing the light from the front of scope, so that issue must have been fixed. Scope seams to be well made and solid.

Only bad thing about these adjustable scopes is that when your shooting at the upper level of FPS for the scope, then you have a narrower field of view. To me it’s worth the trade of to have a scope calibrated to your bow.

I purchased the Wicked Ridge M 370 crossbow when an elbow problem prevented me drawing my vertical bow. The positive aspects of this product are a competitive price for an entry level crossbow, light weight, Accu Draw winch built into buttstock, good looking camo, good balance and portability and a scope that has multiple aiming points for different ranges and comes pretty well sighted in.

Negatives include a trigger that could break cleaner, accuracy that is adequate for reasonable hunting ranges but felt could be better (may have been the shooter) and the noise upon shooting a bolt, though this is the only crossbow I have shot so don’t know how the sound compares to other crossbows.

The greatest positive is the Ten Point Warranty covering the crossbow. I was sighting in using a bench and got distracted. I accidentally dry fired the crossbow without a bolt with resultant major damage to the string, cables, cams and trigger assembly.

This occurred when the dry fire safety mechanism failed. I returned it to Ten Point explaining my mistake. Ten Point repaired the damage with new parts and returned it within three weeks at no charge and no qiestions asked.

Couldn’t ask for better warranty service. Will be a loyal customer.

I have had this bow and used it quite a bit now. The Good: The bow shoots very well. It was easy to sight in and seems to be accurate and a consistent shooter. It shoots fast! The narrow limb width is very nice in the woods and in blinds.

I’ve used it to harvest a very nice buck already. The Bad: Biggest thing is the accu-draw has already broken. It still winds/cranks, but no longer ratchets. This is a major safety issue because if your hand slips off of the crank, its going to un-wind rapidly with risk of injury.

This occurred during my 1st or 2nd shooting session with the new bow. I’m continuing to use it through the season but it will have to be addressed, I just hope a local authorized shop can work on it as opposed to having to ship it.

Second, some of the threads on the serving are already broken and coming unraveled. This seems to be premature to me but isn’t affecting its functionality. I would suggest 1 design change, to make the safety ambidextrous.

I wouldn’t use it with my left hand, but would like to be able to look at the bow and see that its on Safe from either side. As it is, I have to lean over, or turn the bow to its side if I want to confirm its still on Safe.

Upgraded to TenPoint/Wicked Ridge after multiple failed hunts with a Crosman xbow. The M370 is night and day difference in quality, weight, options and accuracy! The stock is comfortable, ergonomic and light.

The limbs in the cocked position are so narrow, it is almost as maneuvering a rifle from the stand. When target shooting, I recommend shooting at different areas because this thing is ACCURATE! My Crosman was all over the place.

I also had to buy a new target because the Wicked Ridge was burying the bolts clear into the fletchings. The ACUdraw makes cocking a cinch. The anti-dryfire feature saved my bow in my first round of shooting after picking up the target this thing plowed over and failing to nock a new bolt.

The included scope is phenomenal! I absolutely love the ability to adjust to the speed of the bow to correlate the crosshairs with set ranges—AMAZING and makes shot placement so much easier and confident! Would buy the M370 1000 times again!.

Hi, I am a rifle hunter and have been for 68 yrs. I have owned and used many different calibre of rifle in my time , and not to brag but have always harvested some really nice W. hitetail deer with them.

I am now going after number 50 and it is special to me. I decided to purchase a crossbow to make this hunt even more special. After a great deal of research I made a decision to purchase a TenPoint Crossbow and let me tell you folks who are debating on this brand.

don’t look any further because the people at TenPoint hands down have the safest , the most accurate shooting , the best warranty, the best customer service , and they are first all the way in research and bringing new product lines and technology to the table.

Some people did try to steer me to other brands or to purchase a less powerful crossbow. As I said I am an experienced and successful hunter of large game for many years and I know what it takes to achieve this.

Safety is paramount anytime you have a weapon of any type in your hands. The good people at TenPoint understand this and not only do they have all of the normal features included that any crossbow may or should have , but they have gone well beyond that point just with the overall crossbow design little own their ACUSLIDE cocking and de-cocking system , or their ( DFI ) Dry – Fire -Inhibitor , and yes , even the scopes being as clear and accurate as they are must be included as a safety feature.

The balance of the Havoc RS440 to hold it has a really good feel , very comfortable. From the first time that I picked this crossbow up I had a very positive sensation. Ha. one that reminded me of picking up my favorite rifle! The power that is unleashed with every shot from the Havoc RS440 is only surpassed by a couple of the Havoc’s family members from TenPoint.

I took 3 shots where I purchased this crossbow. I almost had a Robin Hood on the 2nd shot, but I did shoot 3 Bulls Eyes. I still have to get used to this crossbow some more , but if you are an experienced hunter or recreational shooter I strongly recommend you purchase a TenPoint Crossbow.

You will not be disappointed. If I with my age and experience can master this and be very excited and confident with this crossbow , I believe that any person can. Confidence , Ability , and having the latest Technology made in my hands this coming Fall are things that are going to get me Whitetail number 50 ! My Havoc RS440 and I will be stealing our way into the swamp and waiting for Mr.

I appreciate the opportunity to write a review of Ten Point Crossbows; quality crossbows. When I was evaluating different crossbow makers, it was apparent from repair shop workers at various stores that Ten Point had the least problems.

My first Ten Point Crossbow, a Titan HLX, came from a gun show in PA. I have three different crossbows and the Ten Point is definitely the best one. I wanted to purchase a newer and faster crossbow. I tried three times to purchase the Ten Point Vapor RS-470 crossbow package with acu slide from Cabelas and each time after telling me they had it in stock, it was cancelled the next day (11-24-21, 12-15-21, and 2-10-22) no longer in stock, check back in a couple of months.

When I was at another sporting goods store, I saw a Ten Point catalog. To my surprise, the RS-470 was not listed for 2022. The new and improved crossbow – Nitro 505 was being offered. I called Cabelas to see if they had the new bow but was told they had not ordered any at that time.

While shopping at Bob’s Army and Navy Store in Clearfield, PA, they had the Nitro 505. Since the store would be closing in a couple of months and everything had to go at reduced rates, I purchased it.

I am so excited about the quality and workmanship of the new Nitro 505. I look forward to many years of success with it. It is so easy with the acu slide, silent cocking, and safe de-cocking system. This is a beautiful bow and obviously top quality.

I purchased my Titan M1 over two months ago and wanted to hunt with it prior to writing my review. I am 71 years old and previously hunted with a Ten Point Titan Extreme for approximately ten years and absolutely loved that bow.

The M1 is a very nice upgrade with a shorter length, narrower axle to axle, over 10% increased fps and one pound weight reduction at only 6. 4 lbs. The AcuDraw makes a slight noise when cranking the pall which I do not feel is an issue and is actually a nice reminder the safety mechanism is engaged.

My crossbow came with an upgraded scope which is the RangeMaster Pro. This scope offers red or green illumination and arrow velocity adjustment. After setting the scope to the 20 yard dot it was very easy to set the fps adjustment for increased yardage settings without shooting multiple times.

This M1 has a very smooth trigger pull and is quieter than its predecessor. The cut out in the grip and the safety wings on the stock are both excellent safety features. The M1 is an affordable crossbow, easy to use in tight spots, very accurate and consistent, and easy to carry.

Customer Service has been excellent in the past and I expect that in the future. Love that it is Made in the USA and highly recommend this crossbow.

I love my Hypertac 420. It was given to me as a gift, I didn’t buy it. I had no idea that CB’s were this accurate and powerful. I’ve killed a doe and 4 pigs with mine at 25-40 yards and all have been full pass throughs.

I killed 2 pigs with one arrow, with a full pass through both pigs. They were lined up perfectly at about 25 yards. I saw one run off and thought I saw it running away with my arrow, through the scope.

After climbing down and finding one dead pig and my arrow, I realized that what I saw, was blood pouring out of the second pig. This bow is easy to climb with, I’ve cocked it twice after shooting from my stand, I don’t recommend this, and it is a BLAST to hunt with.

I shoot the factory arrows with 125 grain mechanicals. I choreographed it at 405 fps. I’m sure that it would be very closed to 420 with the recommended 100 grain broad heads. The best thing about this bow is, the arrows go where you point it.

I followed the zero instructions that came with the bow/scope and it’s accurate for sure. I’m sure that there are better bows on the market, but if you’re into killing whitetail and pigs, this BC set-up is all that you need.

I do wish that I could find some lighted nocks for it, but with the propriety Barnett arrows that it shoots, I haven’t found any that will work as of now.

I bought the XP 400 after much research and inquiries. Price point is on target and the Barnett name helped with my decision. I bought the bow fully assembled off the rack. Weight and feel of the bow is exactly what I was looking for and the scope is very solid.

It comes with two bolts and a detachable plastic quiver. With the quiver attached it interferes with my right hand a little. The crank mechanism is nice but I’m in reasonably good shape and I think a pull string would be faster and easier although the no-fire release is very convenient.

First shot from 20 yards was high and left. Second shot high and left again. Made some adjustments and within 10 shots I was dialed in perfectly at 20, 25, 30 and 35 yards. After 40 yards I noticed a little less accuracy.

Then again, I don’t have much practice with it so far so I’m not worried. Season opens on 9-17 here in central Florida. I’ll be putting more bolts down range before then. I picked up a hard case and three additional bolts.

So far I’m happy with the purchase. I had been using a bow built in 2000 so this is a MAJOR change for me. I’ll update once the season starts.

I’ve been hunting most of my life, and hunting with a crossbow for about the last 8 years. I have a Mission (Mathews) crossbow and purchased this Barnett Stalker for my 18 year old to hunt with. After shooting this crossbow well over a hundred times over the last 3 days, I am ready to give a review.

Pros: Out of the box, this is a nice looking crossbow. It comes with a scope, two bolts, two practice tips, and a quiver. The price was exactly where I wanted it to be. It claims to launch a bolt down range at 380 fps but you’ll have to read the fine print if you intend to achieve that speed.

I didn’t shoot it through a chrony, but it is substantially faster than my Mission (shooting only 320 fps or slightly less) so I was excited about its speed. It’s fairly quiet, but still loud enough that a longer shot would be susceptible to having a deer crouch to run before the bolt arrives.

I also loved how easily the stock can be adjusted. Barnett uses the same design as a typical AR-15 adjustable stock. Cons: The quiver mounts awkwardly on the crossbow. It has slots for 3 bolts, but if you put 3 bolts in there, you don’t have room to put our hand on the trigger because the shaft nearly touches the body of the crossbow.

This is likely why the crossbow only comes with two bolts. It is a very bad design. Barnett has been in the crossbow business too long to have a poor design like this. The scope is a decent scope, but it is a fixed 4 power with an adjustable focus on the eye piece.

It was pretty much dead-on at 20 yards right out the box, but be aware that the scope is a crossbow scope that is in no way matched to this crossbow. I assumed each line would represent 10-yard increments, but after nearly 30 shots trying to make adjustments to it for 20, 30, and 40 yards to get things sync’d up, I found myself frustrated because nothing worked.

What I finally did was set the center line at 20 yards, then dropped to the second line and adjusted the target distance until the second line hit the mark. It ended up being at exactly 35 yards, meaning that the scope drop compensation was perfect in 15 yard increments.

I backed the target up to 50 yards and sure enough, the third line was dead on. Great that I nailed down the pattern – but it stinks that I have to “guess” where the impact point will be when the deer is standing broadside at 26 or 27 yards.

The difference between the 20 yard zero and the impact point at 27 yards was about 4 inches. Not a huge difference, but I am a stickler for knowing the exact impact point when I pull the trigger, and now I am leaving it up to an 18 year old novice hunter to be able to adjust the aim point when the target is “somewhere between the lines”.

In summary, I think this crossbow is decent for the price. I think the engineer in charge of the quiver design should be fired, and I think that Barnett should have either found a scope that was better matched to this particular crossbow and the bolts they provided, or at least used a scope that allows the shooter to adjust the scope settings to compensate for the speed of the crossbow (like Mathews did with my crossbow).

Most likely, I will purchase a scope that is a better match. There’s not much I can do with the quiver design except maybe suggest to Barnett that they go back to the drawing board on that one.

Got the bow Shot great out of the box. Started experiencing accuracy problems called mission they told me to take it to my local dealer. Took it to the local dealer they said it shot great, Took it back home started having the same issues again took it back to the dealer With the same outcome.

I was forced to figure it out on my own I started with the scope thinking that might be an issue called Hawke optics they sent me out a new scope. Turns out it was not the scope so then I replace the strings still having the issue I took it back to the dealer.

They kept it for a couple days called mission they wanted them to check multiple distance points on the bow. After making the dealer jump through all these hoops without even seeing the bow they assessed there was nothing wrong with it.

The dealer when picking it up happen to see a hairline fracture in the limb. Mission sent the new limbs to install, after installing the new limbs The dealer Took it out to test fire drew it back 3 inches in the whole front of the bow exploded!!!! They intern call mission and told them what happened.

Mission tried to tell them that they drew the bow back wrong! I don’t even know how that is even possible!! So all in all my personal take on it is if you spend $1800 on a bow you expect the company that you purchased it from to back there product! With mission it’s not their fault it’s something wrong with the way you’re shooting or something wrong other than the bow! Getting this company to back up their product is like pulling teeth.

Very disappointed in there customer service would never purchase a bow from mission again! If you’re in the market for a bow I would check out Raven or any other leading manufacturer.

I bought my Sub1 XR yesterday. To be honest I was actually looking to purchase a Ravin 20, however, when I went to the archery store “Bennett’s Archery” (Best in the Montgomery/Wetumpka area hands down!) I spoke to the owner and his son.

Now I knew plenty about Matthew bows but I admittedly had no clue they made crossbows as well. While the price was a bit more than I what I wanted to spend here are some of the main reasons why it was a no brainer for me to spend the extra cash to invest in this crossbow.

1. MATTHEWS – Lol. anyone in the archery world knows Matthews is one of the best, if not the best when it comes to quality and backing up their product. 2. LIFETIME WARRANTY – I don’t know about “all” the other companies but as far as Ravin is concerned, they don’t offer a lifetime warranty and that is a very big deal to me.

These were the absolute primary reasons I chose to invest in the SUB1 XR. Now they did have the regular Sub 1 and the difference for me in that was the FPS, 375 vs 410. I bought this crossbow to hunt and I plan at some near future point to hunt for more than just deer so having that extra strength does count when it comes to hunting; otherwise I was told it truly wouldn’t make much of a difference if you are primarily hunting deer/hog at no more than avg.

40yds, 50yds max for effectiveness and accuracy. Lastly, while I was there, there was actually a Ravin 10 that a customer had turned in for repair and unfortunately the store has been having a lot of difficulty with the manufacturer to get replacement parts which they said is sadly not uncommon.

Don’t get me wrong both the owner and myself definitely like the Ravin but we all know these level of crossbows we are talking about are not cheap ($1200-$2000). So if I’m going to invest in something like this, a lifetime warranty, great quality, and long standing impeccable history means everything; I want my purchase potentially to outlast me and pass it on to my family if possible.

I have the standard sub 1 and it is amazing. It has a very steep price tag but it is very accurate, the most quite crossbow I’ve ever shot, reliable,no recoil, and it’s fast and flat. All of those reasons are good but one of the most important things to me is you can replace the strings without a bow press by loosening the bolts on the limbs.

I can carry a spare string, cables, and allen wrench with me and replace them in the woods if I needed to. If you wanna treat yourself this hunting season buy the sub 1 now but be careful, there is no going back.

I purchased the R29x Sniper on 9/18/2020. The crossbow shoots very fast and accurate. On 10/23/2020 the cable snapped while my 8 year old was shooting it. The limbs shattered, scared us both, luckily he wasn’t injured.

This crossbow costs $3000 and barely lasted 30 days. I was told by the dealer at the time of purchase that Ravin has the best customer service in the business. I challenge anybody to try and contact Ravin customer service prior to making a purchase.

The number takes you to a recording and asks that you email customer service because if you leave a voicemail, they might not be able to help you in a timely manner because they are so backed up. Also, the bow shop has been waiting on replacement parts for over 2 weeks.

I basically missed bow season because I chose to buy a Ravin R29x for $3000. I do not recommend this product or company.

The R10 is a fantastic crossbow! To call it an entry level crossbow just doesn’t fit. Laser accurate, up to 410 fps, reliable, lightweight, well balanced and a great trigger. Speed and power for any big game.

An entry level bow is just not a good description. It doesn’t fit. The R10 has put down numerous deer like a death ray! Can’t say enough good things about it!.

I used my Ravin R26 crossbow with Ravin aluminum expanding broadheads during the 2020 Illinois deer bow season. The practice sessions prior to hunting proved the crossbow to be extremely accurate at ranges of 50 yards plus.

I harvested a nice 8 point Whitetail using this combination. The power of the crossbow combined with the Ravin broadheads did the job with a complete pass through, causing the deer to expire within 30 yards.

The blood trail was easy to follow and left large deposits of blood from point of impact to the location of the deer. I am well pleased with the crossbow and have no cons to add to this review. A satisfied 76 year young bow hunter.

First of all TenPoint thank you. I owned my previous TenPoint Titan crossbow for 22 years and today it sits in the hands of a excited 12 year old hunting for his first year. I donated it to him as I definitely got my monies worth out of it.

With that Titan looking like new after all these years I knew there was no other manufacture choice. 13 years ago when I made that same trip to have the strings changed they said to me ” Hey, if you don’t mind we will change the stock for you for free! There are some stocks that have some small cracks and we don’t want you to experience that” Talk about great proactive customer service!!! After a 1.

5 hour trip to TenPoint in Mogadore Ohio today 8/22 I now have a Wicked Ridge NXT 400 sitting in my hands and I know it will last me another 22 years. Yikes. that will make me 72 years old! I only shot it today 6 times and had to adjust the scope two clicks.

It held within 2″ of center from 20-50 yards. very impressive! Quality is great and I’m excited for the season to start. Get your hands on a TenPoint/Wicked Ridge and I’m telling you from experience you’ll be happy.

So far I love the NXT400. I have 3 deer killed so far with this crossbow. One deer I killed on my first day out with it. I sighted in the bow in morning hunted the same afternoon and came out with a deer.

If I had to critique anything it would be that the scope really needs to be upgraded. I have it maxed out on the lowest adjustment and really needs to go a little more but not much. Also I think this scope could be calibrated much closer for such high speeds at 40yds and above.

However, I’m able to get on target with it. The second issue is the little keeper for the cocking sled doesn’t hold really well and moves making noise while hunting, walking, or carrying. I’ve owned many crossbows and this one is my favorite.

Definitely would recommend to everyone. You will not be disappointed unless you’re just a person who can’t be satisfied. This bow is awesome. Make these few upgrades and it’s perfect! As of now a deer is in big trouble around this wicked ridge NXT400.

On another note I’m not real fond of the illuminated nocks. All three deer I killed so far had a light malfunction after the impact. In flight they are beautiful. After impact they were either turned off or gone.

That needs work going forward. I’m very satisfied with my purchase you will be to!.

Once it is dialed in this Speed Dial is deadly accurate. Where you put the crosshair on your target that is where is hits. I used a Ten Point Invader G3 from a tripod stand at 58 yds. and had 3 bolts with a less than 2″ grouping.

Even my 8 year old Granddaughter shot it at 40 yds with a 3″ grouping from a shooting bench. Excellent product that is a must have.

I love it i already took it out hunting and got one. I just follow the steps and you be fine. I Shot my barrentt recruit 75 yards with in a 2 to 3 inch grouping that is far hard to find that much space to shoot.

Also i test it on different yard settings and it dead on recommed a range finder to take out the guest work. going to get one for my regular compound bow hopefully before end of season.

Dead easy to use, better than a cluttered reticule, just remember a broadhead fly,s differently to a field tip, so put your broadhead on to be an inch and a half high at 60yds, this will put you an inch and a half low at a 100 yds using a 460fps scorpid aculeus.

As someone who has been shooting a bow since I was fifteen years old and am now seventy I have to admit that I am amazed at the ease of use and accuracy of my Invader 400 I have been teaching Hunter Edfor over thirty years and am the Master Instructor in my county for both firearms and archery.

It has always been my goal to keep our outdoor traditions alive, especially in the area that I live in which is only 25 miles from NYC. By the way I was born and raised in The Bronx which is an unlikely place for someone like me to have developed my deep passions for all things outdoors.

Because of major back issues I was o longer able to pull back any of my bows and to me that was like ripping a part of my existence out. Over the years I have touted the use of crossbows for the elderly and physically handicapped.

I have taken our Wounded Warriors out on local hunts as well as handicapped individuals. I in all reality never dreamed of the day that I could not hunt in my traditional ways. As last season ended I made the decision to finally have major spine surgery.

In discussing the surgery with my surgeon I asked him if I had it in January would I be able to walk in the woods by May. He asked me why and I my response was so that I could go Turkey hunting. He thought that I was joking but I assured him that I was serious.

The operation was a success and within a month Iwas walking Five miles on a treadmill. Finally when May came around I was ready to spend some quality time in the woods. on opening day my nephew and I connected on a pair of Tom’s albeit with shotguns.

I live in a town where there is very limited hunting and it is bow only. I have access to one of the last orchards in the county and I decided to try my luck on trying to harvest a Turkey there. I worked a pair of birds off the roost and after an hour of coaxing they came within twenty five feet of me as they say the rest is history.

The very first time that I took my Invader400 into the woods as well as ever having hunted with any crossbow I harvested a 20lb. bird with 8. 5 beard and 1” spurs. I could not believe accuracy of the croobow as the birds neck bone was split in two and the bird dropped right down.

The pictures show the bird with its wound as well as my grandsons with the bird. Now I can hardly wait for deer season to come around.

Couldn’t be happier with the accuracy of this crossbow. Purchased from bass pro who fully assembled and only left waxing/burnishing the string/cables and lubing the rail before I was able to sight in.

Brought the bow to one of my buildings to sight in at 20, 30, 40, and 50yds. Needed 6 clicks left and 11 clicks down at 20yds, then an additional 2 clicks left and one down at 50. Once we were sighted at 50, the groupings were within 2” at 50 yds with the aluminum bolts that came with the package.

We decided to move back to 61 yards before we ran out of room in the building. With the multi line scope, the vertical reticle line widens just below the 50 yard horizontal line. It happened to be spot on at 60 yards and we were able to keep the groupings within the white ring on the corner of a blackout field point 26 archery bag.

Roughly 3” in diameter. My 11 year old was even capable of firing groupings within the black ring in the center of this bag consistently from the 61yd mark from a bag rest. This was his first time shooting a crossbow and has never shot a gun or used a scope prior.

When compared to my father in law’s Ten Point turbo M1, this was just as accurate, but more quiet, faster, and smoother. The balance is better as well being a reverse draw. One thing that was easier with his turbo was drawing back.

It seemed to be easier despite the rdx having the acudraw pro, but this could be contributed to his string and cables being more stretched as his bow is coming up on two years old. Still my son was able to draw the rdx on his own safely, so this would not be a big concern for anyone who is interested in hunting with their children.

Overall this bow is ready to hunt the day you assemble it by simply changing to broad heads and I would not hesitate to put it up against some of the more expensive bows out there. Plenty of power to shoot 60yds and out, and accurate enough to take deer ethically at that distance.

As a “gun guy” living in a state that only allows bow hunting for the majority of the deer season isn’t my favorite thing. After spending some time in the blinds with a regular compound bow I eventually went out on a hunt with a friend who brought along a crossbow.

I have never used a crossbow before and was instantly jealous of how agile and easy his life was in the blind, compared to my experience with a bulky full size compound bow. I decided to take a risk on something I didn’t know and picked up an Invader crossbow.

Wow. I should’ve done this a long time ago. First even. After taking about three shots out of the box at 20yards I made a couple adjustments to the sights, the bow was almost instantly ready to go. After seeing this my non hunter wife wanted to join in for some fun.

She was immediately able to hit 4” groups from 40yards HER FIRST TIME EVER SHOOTING A BOW! She was won over right away, and also loves that with acudraw she can pull back the string effortlessly, unlike my regular compound bow.

10/10 would recommend. I should’ve bought this bow before my compound bow.

I shot one of these in the Wheeling store yesterday. I had the R5X on my short list to be an upgrade from my current Mission MXB-360. I found the cocking mechanism very awkward and slow. There was no audible click at the end of the cocking cycle to let you know for certain that it was engaged.

The trigger was soft and very touchy. A definite downgrade from the two-stage triggers on Missions Sub-1 series crossbows. Also very noisy. I’ll be buying a Sub-1 or a Sub-1 XR. I really wanted to like the R5X, but can’t there.

Determining the overall rating for the new Siege RS410, proved harder than expected. The great aspects of the product are that the design of the bow and the ability to put arrows accurately on target is excellent, but I’ve encountered a number of issues that could have the potential to impact or ruin your hunt.

The cocking/de-cocking mechanism design/function, safety features, trigger, and accuracy are outstanding. The balance and ability to point and steady the bow for the shot is great. Not so great and an issue that may directly impact the success of your hunt is related to length of pull and eye relief issues with the scope.

I am a medium statured individual (5’7″) and even after installing all of the provided stock spacers and moving the scope as far forward as possible in the mounts there is still an issue with eye relief and reliably acquiring the scope.

My larger statured hunting buddies can’t use the scope if the butt is in contact with their shoulder. Frustrating issues that shouldn’t occur based on price of item: 1. Within three days of bringing the bow home the locking lever for the quiver (along with the bolt and nut) went missing.

The pro-shop where I purchased the bow mentioned they had seen the problem on multiple occasions and allowed me to swap components from a quiver kit on the shelf. Kudo’s to them for their customer service mindset and eliminating the lost time to chase down the issue directly with the manufacturer.

2. In using the cocking handle my thumb has gotten caught/pinched multiple times between the “T” handle and lever arm. In one instance it took a lot of wrangling to free my hand resulting in a bruised/sore thumb.

3. At some point the the cocking handle will fall out of the storage recess on the bow stock. I carry mine on my person to make sure that it will always be there when I need it. 4. Per other reviews I’ve read one of the two ball catches that lock the handle in the stock when using the cocking handle fell out less than a week after purchasing the bow.

The handle still locks with only one ball catch. Hopefully the other one does not come out. A commendable start Tenpoint, but there are some issues that need to be addressed.

I bought this crossbow to use for myself and for my grandson to use. My grandson is 14 and this is his first year to hunt deer. I am not able to draw a compound bow anymore and my grandson was just not able to be consistently accurate with his.

I studied many reviews and narrowed my search to Ten Point products. The Siege fit my criteria for safety, speed, and accuracy. After sighting in the scope, everyone that picked this crossbow up was able hit the bullseye at 20 yards.

Even my 8-year-old grandson, that has never shot anything but a nerf gun, hit the bullseye on every shot. There were a couple things we learned to pass on. First, make sure you are shooting at a target that can stop a bolt at 415 FPS.

We first used a target for a compound bow backed by a 16″ foam billet. It shot clear through both and found the bolt under the grass 10 yards behind the target. It was hard on the fletching going through all that.

I bought a 470 FPS target that stops the bolt unless you hit a spot that already has been hit. Then it sinks into the target up to the knock and the target is deeper than the 16″ bolt so it does not stick out the back.

This target was expensive and is heavy. Shooting at 40 yards solves the problem. I do not know what you can use for a target for the crossbows that shoot over 500 FPS but you should study that issue before you buy one and do not have a target to stop the bolt.

We found the scope proved accurate at all the yardage dots after it was first set up at 20 yards. However, I have trouble holding the bow steady to fire at that distance freehand and I used a BOG tripod to test at that distance.

The only issue we had was that the scope caps suck. We accidently bumped an open rear cap after the first shot and the cap broke off at the hinge. We use it without the caps. The replacement caps available on the web site look to be the same OE caps.

Why mess with it when the replacements are no better? Seems like cheap c**p on such a high-quality crossbow and an easy fix to replace with a quality set especially when the reviews have shown this as a consistent problem.

Maybe they are working on this by now. Don’t get me wrong, we love this crossbow and, if the only complaint is cheap scope caps, I still can’t see how any other crossbow could perform better for our use.

Also, the backpack bow case is totally awesome.

After waiting for many years, I finally jumped into the crossbow game. This is my first crossbow and I was hoping to buy once / cry once given the costs of these things. I am 52 years old and after years of using a regular compound bow, I found the issues with my shoulder and eyesight made it where I owed it to the animals I hunt and to myself to move into a crossbow.

I researched for quite some time before finally deciding that this was probably the best bang for my dollars. The most critical feature to me was the ability to de-cock the crossbow without having to shoot it.

I have witnessed first hand my buddies have to carry a small target in the truck just to be able to fire a cocked crossbow. I also did not like the idea of pulling up or lowering a cocked crossbow (even with no arrow in it) while in a treestand.

I really wanted to see this crossbow before purchase, but I could not find one anywhere in the State of Georgia to go see in person. My nearest Tenpoint dealer was 50 miles away and when I talked to him on the phone he said that these crossbows are impossible to get.

So reluctantly, I ordered it sight unseen from another TenPoint dealer out of state. So when my RS410 arrived, I immediately went to shooting it but I had difficulty getting it sighted in. My first shot completely missed the target and I destroyed the first bolt even at a distance of only 10 yards.

It was not sighted in even close. After multiple shots that seemed to have no grouping, I finally discovered the problem was a horrible mounting job of the scope. The screws in the rings were tightened all the way down on one side and the screws were loose in the other side.

The scope was loose in the rings. After remounting the scope, using some loctite, and a torque wrench, I got the scope properly mounted and sighted in. This solved the issues. But then, I was sighted at 20 yards but could not get the scope dialed in at the 30 and 40 yard marks.

After watching some videos, I figured out that my RS410 was shooting much faster than 410fps and this issue, while a good problem to have, could not be corrected. I was told by multiple people that I needed to replace the factory scope with a scope that had more speed adjustment in it.

Instead, I tried a different approach by switching my field points from 100grs to 125grs to slow the bolt down. I wanted to be shooting a heavier arrow anyway. This slowed the arrow down to exactly 425fps and I was able to set the scope dialed in at 425fps (the highest it will go).

This fixed everything and I am shooting tight groups at 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards just by using the holdover points in the scope and they are dead on. I also think the arrows fly better with 125grs because I can consistently put them in the same hole in the target as the previous shot.

Now that I have everything dialed in and adjusted, I absolutely love this crossbow and do not regret my purchase at all. Everyone I hunt with said I needed to get mechanical broad heads for hunting. But after seeing some of their issues with mechanical broad heads and the costs, I decided that shot placement is way more important than the broad head itself and I just don’t need a broad head that opens to 2″ that is prone to not opening or the increased cost.

I wanted to keep it simple. After much research, I decided to go with Muzzy 3 blade Trocar 125gr broadheads for hunting. My only complaint so far with this crossbow is the fact that you have to use the Tenpoint arrows / nocks and they are just too expensive especially when the bolts go straight through an archery target and embed themselves so deep that you destroy the vanes trying to get it out.

I have purchased several new archery targets now, but just not found the right target for these bolts. The power of this crossbow is absolutely incredible. I have to say that I am once again excited about archery season as the crossbow gives me a new level of confidence and precision that I had lost with my compound bow as I have gotten older and the ability to look through a scope instead of a peep sight is just night and day difference.

Would I buy the Siege RS410 again if I had it to do over? Absolutely, I am convinced I made the right choice.

This Parker Enforcer Crossbow comes well packaged with easy to understand assembly instructions. The assembly is very easy and should only take you about 10 minutes to complete. It comes with the scope already mounted and laser bore sighted.

It should only take a few minor adjustements to be dead on target. I feel the scope is on the lower end but it does work and hold zero. Make sure when you order this crossbow to go ahead and order a cocking rope because there is not one included in the package.

You will definitely need this with the 160 lb. draw. This crossbow is rated at 315 ft. per second but I believe its actually a little more in the 320-325 ft. per second range. It is plenty powerful to take down whitetail deer.

I took this one hunting one week after purchase and was able to harvest a nice 165 lb. buck with it at a range of 30 yards. The bolt went completely through the deer before the deer even realized that he was shot.

A couple of seconds went by before the deer realized he was hit and then he tried to run but only managed to get 15 yards before he was done for. Just in case you are wondering the crossbow comes with 4 Parker bolts and a quiver.

I used one of these provided bolts for the deer. These bolts hold up well. After target practice and shooting completely through the deer the bolt is still in perfect condition. You will also want to purchase string wax and rail lube to keep the crossbow well maintained and extend the life it.

I highly recomend this crossbow to anyone. I give it a 5 star rating. It is a great package at a great price. You won’t be disappointed.

First time crossbow shooter. First shot at 10 yds was right on at the top reticle line then at 20 yards was 3. 5″ high and 0. 5″ right. Adjusted 35 clicks down and 5 clicks left and put the next two arrows right in the center almost in the same hole.

Used a rope cocking device with the rope shortened to almost minimum length and it cocked very easily. No need for expensive crank. Safety worked as it should. All in all, very easy and very accurate.

Whitetail hunt coming in the fall and by then I’ll be an old pro. Just waiting for the virus to let me back at the range.

I bought one from Bass Pro Shops 2 years ago in Nashville. I’m 70 years old and take blood thinners so I hunt from a Ground Blind, can’t climb anymore. The scope is dead on. I took a doe last year at 25 yards and a buck between 35 and 40 yards this year.

This bow is super accurate and consistent. A friend of mine shot this bow and saw how tight the arrow grouping was so he when and bought one last year. He killed his first buck with this bow this year.

I started with this bow as my first crossbow. I had a compound bow but the string snapped while I was getting to my blind and my whole hunting trip was over because there were no bow shops around and the bow had partially dry fired because the serving snapped.

I ended up buying a new string for it and sold it on eBay to buy this bow. I have been using this bow for over 3 yrs and I finally upgraded to the BD 440 this year but this bow is my backup. I always carry an extra string, limbs, and I never have to worry about the strings breaking because if it does, I take out my stringing kit and restring the bow and continue with my hunt.

I have harvested 13 Bucks between this bow and the BD 440. I thought this bow was a beast but the 440 really packs a punch. So much so that you have to use the included silent charger ext. unfortunately it doesnt work with this bow.

I am extremely glad I found Excaliburs because they are so durable and a piece of art. The newer bows all look the same and although they are much more narrow cocked and uncocked I still prefer to using my Excalibur because I am sick of the compound bows snapping strings and servings.

Excaliburs have always been the best in my honest opinion, nothing can stop you when you shoulder an Excalibur. No more worrying about what you should do if your serving or string snaps. Excaliburs only have 1 string thats replaceable and that applied to the limbs too.

I always carry an extra set of limbs and strings in my backpack just in case. I never needed it but its nice to know I can change out the limbs and string within 10minutes without a bow press. Buy this bow and get a taste of excellence!.

I already own an Excalibur 340 TD and decided to buy this while it was on sale for my daughter’s to use while we hunt together. I had purchased a different compound style crossbow for them and within 20 shots the serving started to seperate bad! New strings/cables cost anywhere from $40-$200 dollars then take it to a shop, pay for labor, and usually wait a week or so to get it back.

With Excalibur I can restring it myself quickly, even in the woods if need be. Sure it may not be as fast as other crossbows on the market, but is still faster than any compound, and 99% of the YouTube/hunting shows has hunters shooting plenty of nice deer/bucks with a lot slower bows.

Pros- Easy to maintain and don’t need a bow shop Fast enough Awesome warranty Well balanced Price Cons- Cheaper scope, but still can get the job done Little wider than most crossbows.
