20 Best Cream For Yeast Diaper Rash (2023 Updated)

I am first time mom so I am still learning about all those products out there. I have a 3 week old boy who had a diarrhea for a couple days which caused rash. We were using Aquaphor Healing Ointment but it didn’t help at all.

I can see using Aquaphor more for like preventative measurements. I happened to have Honest Diaper Rash Cream at home as well and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It pretty much cleared my son’s rash in matter of two days.

I also like how you can apply just a thin layer once you cleared out the actual rash so you don’t go through the cream that quickly. I will definitely repurchase again. #honestbeauty.

WARNING! Created worse rash for my 3 month old. I used this for first time as a Preventative measure, as my 3 month old’s little bottom was fine, however, after an hour or so she was crying hysterically in pain.

We soon discovered, to our horror, upon a diaper change how much damage this cream caused; extreme redness, swelling, verge of blistering! We had gone weeks without any rashes or issues until using this product.

I understand every baby may react differently to different creams but there is some ingredient in this cream that is just not suitable at all! The damage done in such a short period of time is extremely devastating.

We are now dealing with the aftermath of it all and taking the time needed to try to heal her emotionally and physically. We are back to Desitin as recommended by her Pediatrician upon seeing the trauma.

Be very careful and definitely test or think twice. I’m sure your little one will be saved for it.

I love this bum cream for my girls and for my sensitive areas for after shaving. As for my girls, I’ve used other brands and they just dont seem to be good enough in my opinion. The honest brand bum cream is nice and smooth and easy to use.

The contents make me feel like their/my skin is being moisturized AND protected. I feel like that’s important in terms of healing a rash and preventing future ones. I stick by all the honest products I’ve tried over the years from baby to beauty to cleaning products.

They’re all great and worth it! They do what they’re made to do and without all the harmful chemicals. That’s my biggest requirement! Your bikini area and your kids bums will thank you for using this.

As for scent. It was very little scent. As for being able to spread it easily. Just remember a little bit goes a long way and this stuff is really hard to wash off but on the flip, it keeps the wet away from the baby.

My baby is very sensitive to certain foods and gets almost acidic like feces. Which means she doesnt want me to touch her much less washer off at a diaper change. As soon as I see this acidic-like diarrhea, I apply desitin and it lessens it to a very great degree.

My baby will blister and has had boils pop up on her little hip. The boils I treat with a different product but this helps to keep the boils from even happening and lessens the episodes of blisters. I use this internet naps and overnight And of course anytime shes having a reaction to food.

I cant imagine not having this product.

This is what my child’s paediatrician recommended for diaper rash. We tried Himalaya diaper rash but was of no use. The rash was so bad that the skin fell off. That’s when we thought let’s order Desitin for diaper rash even if it’s costly.

After using it the effect was instantaneous and the rash disappeared quickly and my child was happy. Now coming to the cost effectiveness. This rash cream is twice the price of Himalaya diaper rash cream but the amount you need to apply is way less than what is needed in other rash cream.

Even a small amount applied spreads to larger surface area. So in fact it’s cheaper than other rash cream. And it works wonders. So thumbs up for this and go get it.

I can not say enough good things about this cream. Our little one would have the worst diaper rashes and be raw. Teething/heat/etc. There was even a time it was so raw it bled. This was the only cream we could use.

Within two days it was SOO much better! Even with the higher price tag this is still our go too!.

This stuff is truly magical. It will take away any rash or irritation on my son by his next diaper change. It’s thick and stays on without letting moisture getting to the areas that hurt. It’s amazing and not just for my son.

Balmex was recommended to me in 1970 after I had my first child. Now 52 yrs later I am ordering this to be used on my 3mo. Old Granddaughter. I know it will work. Rainy that then I wrote a letter to the company that makes Balmex to tell them what a great product I thought it was and how well it worked.

I suggested having it advertised in some of the baby magazines you might see laying around a pediatricians office. I never ever saw this advertised anywhere and the only reason I knew about it, as I said before it was recommended to me by a doctor friend.

I never get here from the company but I remember when I was using it I used to order it from the pharmacy in a can as all that they carried were the tubes and not much of it it just seemed odd to me that such a great product was not advertised more good for me it’s still being made.

I’m no reason I liked it versus other diaper rash ointments I had tried is that Ball mix was easy to come off whereas some of them were very difficult which I understand now is good so that it will adhere to the rash but at the same time it hurts to rub it off.

I agree with the previous reviewer, that Balmex baby is the best for adults as well. I took care of my mother for many years, before she passed, and it was always the best for keeping her free of rashes and pressure sores.

Many other formulas melt away quickly, but this is more substantial and lasts. (A thick application is important. ) Now I’m taking care of my mother-in-law, and it’s my first choice. It’s difficult to find locally.

I’ve tried ordering it from Walmart, but it was so poorly packaged and all of them broke open in transit, All Star Health packaged them so well that it would be very difficult for the shipper to damage them.

My son developed speech slowly after taking this. My son was 7 years old, almost non verbal, diagnosed with adhd. I have tried many natural things to help him. Then, I remembered when I was a child, I used to get dewormers, and also my classmates.

In the US, they don’t provide this, or at least is not a regular thing to do. A few days ago, I gave dewormers to my dogs, I found maggots in there after their medicine was given. I see that it is time to provide this to my family again as a preventive measure.

They say that if the dogs have worms, it can be passed down to humans. Why take the chances? I’m just going to give them another dose. I’m pregnant, so I don’t think I can take it, but they will. It is a huge coincidence that my son developed his speech after this.

My dogs feces started looking like sandy consistency… and I had a feeling they had worms. And yes, after I gave them the medicine (dog dewormer) they showed the maggots in their feces. So, seeing this, I am taking the precautions of deworming my family with this pinworm medicine.

First I had to take care of the dogs, then once they are cleared, then I’ll administer the pinworm medicine…. When I go to MX I get a broader dewormer medicine, the ones that fight not only pinworms but at least 2 more kinds.

Since is hard to get medicine like that in the US over the counter, I’ll settle for only the pinworm one. When I asked our pediatrician, how come in the US is not common to deworm the children as they do in Mexico.

His response was, that MX was an underdeveloped country and there were more parasites. However, to have parasites, it doesn’t take much, eat undercooked seafood, undercooked eggs, poor hygiene, etc And boom, you got them.

Instead of looking for a root problem on diseases, we just treat them in the US. Over medicate for depression, adhd, and have to deal with the medicines side effects. etc Look for parasites in you, it might be the root problem to your depression, over eating, mental fogginess.

Etc I was raised in MX, so this is a commonly recommended prevention on families. They actually have a ton of commercials about it. The Red Cross used to administer dewormers at the schools. All I know is that it was a huge coincidence that my son finally developed his speech shortly after taking this.

One dose did not heal my pinworms. I went to the doctor since this medicine didn’t work and there was only one prescription they could give me. It is $900. 00 for two Enverm pills. Apparently the company that made that medicine sold the rights to the recipe to another company.

And since they are now the only ones who make it, they thought that instead of healing others and selling it for a reasonable price by doing the right thing, they would instead make the price so high that really no one can afford it.

My 3 year old son refuse to swallow. that thick yellow paste. Spit it out all over the floor. Even after drinking honey, the yukky taste still in mouth like melted chalk. I took it, but he didn’t and there was only enough for 2 separate dose.

So I don’t know how a whole family can take this. Also it was my first time using so I’m not sure how this medication supposed to look or if I got an old batch. is this supposed to be thick paste?!! Lumpy after multiple shaking.

After using various rash creams on my daughter, my mother in law suggested this one it has been a complete life changer! My daughter has very sensitive skin and all the other rash creams we had tried was only making her rash worse.

After trying Vitacilina Bebe her rash quickly went away and it was very gentle on her skin. This is my go to for diaper rash! Definitely recommend! And also it is very affordable.

This rash cream works wonders!!!! They can have a really bad rash and as soon as you apply it it helps them calm down the itchiness and the pain. And within hours the rash is completely gone! I been using this product for 6 years and it’s amazing.

TLDR: This cream really does soothe in contact and is worth its weight in gold, or breastmilk, or wine, or coffee, (you get the idea, mamas)! Try this FIRST and you won’t waste money and irritate your LO’s bottom while experimenting with lower-priced pastes that just aren’t as effective.

The ONLY diaper rash cream that soothed, stayed on, and worked for my little one. We tried: 3 different kinds of Boudreaux, A & D, Desitin, Aquaphor, and a couple store brands that were recommended to us.

While my LO was healing up from a yeast diaper rash with some prescription paste (our doctor sent us to a local compound pharmacy where they mixed the paste themselves – 100% recommend going that route If your LO has a yeast rash!) I was busy researching diaper rash creams we could use for after the prescription paste came up.

I found the rave reviews for this one, and although the price tag seemed high, I was desperate. Once we had finished the prescription cream, she developed some minor diaper rash. After having tried many other creams, I was nervous and braved myself for the tears…and was shocked that my LO didn’t cry when I put this on.

I was even more shocked when, at the next diaper change, the rash was less red and seemed to be healing. By the next morning, it was GONE. I’ve given this as a shower gift and I’ve given this as a “help me I’m desperate!” gift to friends who were in the same predicament as I was.

I even sincerely offered it to my husband when he had bad chafing, but he drew the line there lol. Other pastes don’t stay on (Boudreaux), smell weird and hurt (Desitin), or are texturally too much like petroleum jelly and thus further irritate baby’s bum (Aquaphor and A&D).

If you’re desperate like I or you want to skip the trial-and-error, go with this gold standard. The sample tube (half the price) is a great way to try it for half the price and then can travel in the diaper bag or the glove compartment once you buy the big tub for in your home.

The ingredients listed seem nice and I really thought since it said paste it would be thick. I like thicker creams because they seem to give more of a barrier and last a bit longer. This is not a thick paste its thinner and does feel waxy.

it does not really have a scent to it, its very light. the consistency reminds me of a light Vaseline almost. it did seem to help with a light rash my lo had from being in wet clothes. we had a water balloon fight and my lo is a bit sensitive so he developed a rash from the mesh in the swim trunks.

I am not sure how this would work for a severe diaper rash but it worked good for the one my child had. I usually like thicker creams like desitine or smiths. But this seemed good to just thinner. I would see parents having to reapply this after so long in a clean diaper.

I feel like it would get soaked up in the diaper before the next change. But it does work so maybe give it a try for those hot summer days that you want a thinner product.

I received the cutest tiny tube of zinc oxide medicated diaper rash ointment and even though it was a tiny tube it was a big help. My kiddo always needs cream when he’s sick because that’s when his butt turns red.

This seemed to soothe him almost immediately and it does seem to prevent it before it appears. The only downside is it’s such a tiny amount, that for a kid who squirms around and doesn’t like cream on his butt I found that it could be wasted very quickly.

Depending on the price point I could see myself buying a less effective cream just because I get more per volume. But if you need something that works I would definitely recommend this ointment to anyone.

I like that it has almost no scent and isn’t overly sticky or greasy. It feels more natural than some of the cheaper brands.

I was so excited to get to try AD’s new diaper rash cream. As a veteran mom of three, I’ve had experiences in the past with AD ointment, but admittedly the original was never my “go-to” cream. This diaper rash cream has a subtle gentle scent and spreads very easy.

It’s a bit lighter of a spread than the regular Desitin and absorbs quicker. My 8 year had a really terrible rash over her lip from blowing her nose during a week long cold. We put this cream on her and her skin dramatically improved overnight.

I wouldn’t say this cream works as well as Boudreux’s Butt Paste, but it is a heavy contender! I would purchase this product and recommend to my family and friends. AD for the win!.

I’ve grown up using AD for bum rash and other skin irritation and it really does work so in general I’m a fan. This product specifically I would not use on my son. While it’s great that it’s phthalate, dye, and paraben free, it does still contain fragrance.

If your skin is already irritated the last thing you need is fragrance which in general is a tricky ingredient as it can include many other chemicals disguised under that label that are also harmful.

On the surface level as well the scent is very similar to baby powder which is overpowering and unpleasant. If we’re using something on our children we want it to be completely free of fragrance, if they remove that I’d be more willing to try it.

I received this product to review and am very pleased with how quickly and effectively it works to clear diaper rash. I have used ad ointment previously and did not like the greasy feel. I also felt that it didn’t clear up diaper rashes.

This product is a thick cream. It applies very easily to the skin and is not messy. The best part is how fast it works! Within one application the diaper rash was substantially cleared. A little goes a long way and the tube will last a long time.

I will be switching exclusively to this formula.

After dealing with my daughters diaper rash for a couple months coming and going and trying so many different creams it would just not seem to go away for more than a day at a time, I felt terrible for her.

It started after we introduced her to solid foods. She would go to the bathroom everyday and every time it would get worse unless she didn’t go for a couple days then it would start to go away but as soon as she would go it would instantly come right back.

I finally came across this one online after doing some research and thought I might as well give it a try since it can’t get any worse than it already is. After the first day and using it only a few times, I saw an incredible difference I couldn’t believe it.

I’ve been using it since Monday and today is Thursday and it’s almost completely gone. I’m pretty sure it will be all the way gone by tomorrow at least I hope. She’s able to go to the bathroom now without getting a rash every time now.

People, please note this is the half-size tube. The other 4. 0oz tubes of TriDerma products only cost ~$11 vs. this $9 tube of only 2. 2oz! Other than the price of this particular size, I do like TriDerma products and have found them to be fairly effective.

Best cream! My son almost instantly breaks ouy in rashes if we use anything else. I wish our store would keep it in stock or any store in town for that matter. I have to order it. No other cream offered has the same active ingrediants.

It almost instantly makes my sons rashes better and keeps them off. He has never broke out even once when using it daily. Irritating that i have lapse times where I have go use something else until it comes in though.

that is when he tends to break out.

Desintin max strength cream is ok, I guess. I didn’t realize Desintin came in a cream and paste. So I wasn’t paying attention when I bought a tube of Desintin cream. Unfortunately at the first sign of moisture the Desintin cream starts coming off way to easily and doesn’t last but a small portion of the day.

Unlike the Desintin paste that I’ve been buying. The thicker paste doesn’t come off/wash off to easily. Which in itself can be a little irritating when cleaning your hands. But that’s what makes it better, you can count on the paste lasting most of the day.

I personally believe the Desintin paste is a better product. Even if you mild or light incontinency I would definitely recommend the paste over the cream.

No first aid kit should be without it and a little goes a long way. I don’t heal easily. Though I am doing much better with Zinc supplement, this 40% zinc (vs 13% baby diaper rash aternative) is high enough for first aid.

It’s high enough to be cut/mixed with other creams or as I’ve done for rubbed raw feet – with Magnesium Oil (not oil, just pure mag flakes dissolved in distilled water). For delicate baby bottoms, add a dollop to chamomile or calendula cream to reduce concentration (Baby Desitin is 13%).

I mix with Arnica gel or cream for scraped bruises and ‘b’bye to any zits or most rashes. For burns of any kind it’s my 2nd fave to the burn ‘Holy Grail’ – Biafine Emusion originally made for chemo burns but since then became a med cabinet staple and is used for everything (the original made in France, NOT J&J US-made version).

Bottom line – high 40% percentage is great on its own or a mix-in to other ingredients. Lots of bang for the buck! Keep this in mind when comparing this original Desitin to Baby Rash 13%. Outstanding value and a bit goes a long way on its own or for personalized blend.

This cream SAVED my baby’s butt!!! My newborn is on antibiotics and got a horrible diaper rash from taking them. We had been using Boudreaux’s natural butt paste in the green tube since it’s paraffin and petroleum free, but the zinc oxide was only 16% and wasn’t helping my baby’s rash at all.

I was on the search for a petroleum and paraffin free cream with 40% zinc oxide and found this one. Im not exaggerating when I say my baby’s butt was 90% healed in 2 days!! Literally went from bright red and raw to light pink and healing so well.

Even the improvement from just one day of use was way more than any improvement we saw from using the Boudreaux’s natural paste for several days. I will probably still use the Boudreaux’s for mild rashes because they worked with my older child’s mild diaper rash, but this Burt’s bees one worked amazingly on my newborns super harsh diaper rash.

Plus it smells way nicer than the Boudreaux’s!.

I cant says enough about this cream! It’s amazing! My 9 month old was taking amoxicillan because of catching pneumonia in December and was suffering a horrible diaper rash because of it. We tried hydrocortisone cream, clotrimazole, Vaseline, sudocrem, penatin, Oat bath, baking soda bath, stopped using wipes.

I was at a loss. Nothing was working and his bum was looking worse and worse. Finally I bought this cream!! It made a HUGE different within the first few days. After 3 long weeks of diaper rash we finally found a winning combination with this cream.

It is pretty thick and hard to work with. It is also pretty expensive. But it smells nice and most importantly it works. Worth the price. I’ve already purchased another tube for next time!.

This is by far the best diaper cream out there! We usually use Desitin (purple tube) but target seems to run out fast. we have tried triple paste, boudreaux butt paste (red, green and yellow tube) aquaphor purple tube and even prescription diaper cream… non worked.

But this seriously worked in a matter of hours! My LO had a horrible rash due to constant diarrhea from a stomach bug. she was in so much pain I didn’t know what else to put on. I’d give this no stars if I Could. Not sure if this is usual but the cream is so hard to get out of the tube!!! Even after massaging the tube it’s so tough to get any product out. Then once I finally get it out it’s not even a smooth texture it’s almost grainy / hard like.

I had to try and smoosh in between my hands to get it to be even somewhat of a texture to get onto my baby’s bum. Im going to stick with destin and ad.

It works well to treat just about any skin irritation – whether it be rashes from allergies, irritations from shaving, minor burns, or dry cracked skin (hello Canadian winters). Our family is a family of sensitive skin and this works wonders (is also fragrance-free which is a win for us).

We try to be proactive and use this cream at night on our daughter since she’s not yet potty-trained (so always has a wet diaper by morning), and we’ve never had a major diaper rash – she’s only ever had one rash and this essentially treated it within a day.

It really does start working after one application! It’s nice and thick so stays where you want it, but is smooth enough to spread and apply easily. Some people have complained its too thick, but I’ve honestly never had an issue with spreading it.

We’ve tried other brands and have found this to be the best consistency, and also seems to keep really well – we’ve had issues with other brands clumping or becoming almost gritty over time if you don’t use it, but this stays fresh for a really long time.

It cleans your babies skin, allows diaper area to dry and protects them from further irritation. My first impression when looking at this product prior to purchasing is that It would probably last the entire diaper stage of my baby.

My baby has very mild diaper rashes so I would not need to use a lot but definitely needed some to help prevent further irritations. I was also attracted to the word “medicated” on the front of the tub.

And she is able to sleep better than before. This is a thick white cream which is smooth to apply. It is fragrance free and works nicely and gives relief. And skin feels softer, calm and healthier. I have used Aquaphore rash cream in past and I can definitely say this one is better.

This diaper balm changed my life 5 years ago! My newborn had such a miserable diaper rash that would not heal. I tried breast milk and all store brands, the hospital even gave me some ointment while we were there.

I love this product and this is probably my fourth or fifth container that I have bought from Yeswellness. I have read about it on a breastfeeding blog and how it helps so much with thrush, so even though it is called diaper cream, I use it after nursing (on myself).

It’s so much better than lanolin or any other breastfeeding balms – it actually helps with thrush (better than any other product I tried) which is a lifesaver. I assume it would also work Wonders on baby’s bum.
