20 Best Cream For Uneven Skin Tone (2023 Updated)

I was recommended this product by my provider for hyperpigmentation on my body. I used it on a continuous basis for over a year and did not see much difference in my hyperpigmentation, but it did leave my skin feeling soft and smooth.

I have very sensitive skin and it did not cause irritation nor breakouts. I liked that it was fragrance free and absorbed quickly into the skin, leaving no residue nor stickiness. However, I discontinued use because I noticed that my skin tone was starting to look blotchy.

I did some research and learned that glycolic acid can have adverse affects in regards to skin tone on persons with darker complexions (I would consider myself to have light-medium tone with neutral undertone), therefore, instead of lightening and evening out the skin tone, it could actually do the opposite.

I don’t know if this was the cause, but my skin tone has not gotten any blotchier since I discontinued. Also, the packaging is not the best – it can be difficult to dispense the lotion (need some hulk hands to squeeze it out).

I would recommend this product to those with light complexions and strong palms.

I do not remember how I discovered this lotion, as I have been purchasing it for some time now, but my entire adult life, the skin on my hands would crack and bleed, and no lotions would prevent it. I apply this lotion every two or three days at night, and it rejuvenates my skin and has completely stopped the cracking and bleeding.

I also use it a couple of days after shaving my legs to exfoliate and prevent ingrown hairs. The price is well worth it. It is very thick, and you do have to put some effort into getting it out of the bottle towards the end, but I would imagine you could find a pump if needed.

It’s not a big deal for me, though.

I have been using Alpha Enhanced Renewal Cream with 12% AHA for over 10 years. I am 48 years old and consistently get compliments on my skin. I have almost no deep wrinkles (maybe one on my forehead), good tone, and very smooth skin, as well as almost never have blemishes.

My skin has gotten oilier as I’ve aged (which I think has helped with not getting wrinkles), but I think using this product has helped keep my skin clear and maintain its youthful appearance. Even though my dermatologist says I could use both this and Retin-A micro every night, I alternate them, so I don’t end up with peeling skin.

It definitely helps exfoliate and keep my cell turnover rate high. It’s a moisturizing formula, but at my age I use a moisturizer after applying. 10 years ago I just used this product with no moisturizer.

I’ve been using La Mer body crème for about 2 years now and there’s simply nothing else like it. I resisted for a long time because of the price and one day, in a weak moment, my curiosity got to me.

I thought, let me buy it just this once. LOL… That’s funny. One try and you’re hooked! Last week I got a jar for my mom who is aging and has very dry skin. Her skin soaked it in and immediately transformed into supple, soft skin.

I will start off saying I love lamer products. I use nearly all their products(face, hands, lips, cosmetics ) bc they work for me. I currently use the lamer reparative lotion and love it. I wanted to buy another one but it has been sold out for a while( here and on lamer).

The sale here was going on (20%)so I decided to try this cream. This size of this is huge. I can say it is hydrating, has a thicker consistency (use less), and makes skin instantly softer, smoother, and glowy.

It doesn’t get sticky, absorbs quickly and leaves the classic lamer scent(soft but notable). This is defiantly a pricer purchase for a body cream, initially, however considering the amount needed each time and how long it will last I find it more reasonable.

I have sensitive skin, that is normal but gets drier as winter settles in. I didn’t have any negative reactions to this cream. If you need a solid hydrating cream that actually works and don’t mind the upfront cost you will be pleased with this.

This is one of my guilty pleasures. I can’t say that I noticed it makes much of a difference to my skin because I already have fairly nice skin, but I’m sure it’s doing something that is not necessarily noticeable to the naked eye.

However, it surely gives all the feels of luxury. I love this skin cream! It feels great to put on, it doesn’t dry out, my skin stays moisturized, and most of all… IT SMELLS SO FREAKING GOOD! Although I’m not rich, I feel like it when I use this product.

Embryolisse is an absolute favorite of mine for all things skincare. I have tried their sensitive skin moisturizer and love it, but this is the richer concentrated cream, which I am currently using and have fallen in love with.

I especially like the simplicity of Embryolisse cream – from the color-coded, non-gimmicky packaging, to the natural, tried and true ingredients – shea butter, aloe vera, soy proteins. This is another multi-tasker, that can be used as a primer as well as a moisturizer and makes a great base for make-up and can also be applied slightly more generously as a mask.

It does not have a very thick texture but is fairly fluid making it easy to absorb into the skin. At the same time, it still manages to be a very rich cream, so even my dry skin feels really moisturized, supple and soft, and I can achieve this result very quickly because it goes on so easily.

This makes it a great cream for both morning and night. Unlike the sensitive version, the concentrate has a mild floral scent, probably jasmine, which I really like. Those who react to scents might prefer the unscented product.

I am glad we are seeing more of Embryolisse in Australia; it is a really lovely French brand – they do seem to nail the skincare- and although it is not the cheapest out there at about $41, it is certainly more affordable than many others and actually delivers results.

I was also pleased to learn that it is cruelty-free (although not vegan) which is reassuring and means I can purchase again with a clear conscience!.

I love all things Vitamin C, so I was SO excited to try out the C5 Super Boost Moisturizer. Moisturizer is an essential in my routine, but I have to find products that will not over hydrate my skin or make it too dewy/greasy.

Because of this, I love gel – cream textures and this moisturizer did not disappoint! It is creamy but not heavy. I love how quickly it absorbs without leaving a sticky or oily feeling behind. After using it for about a week, I’ve noticed my skin looking hydrated and more radiant! However, I have noticed bits of texture and irritation on my skin.

Not sure if this is due to the moisturizer, so I will continue to use it until I see further irritation. Looking forward to seeing results after extended use!.

This is an awesome duo! The lotion goes on smoothly and moisturizes plus smells like oranges! I used the lotion day and night after my skin adjusted to the retinol topped with sunscreen. The oil is an amazing product as well! A little definitely goes a long way and it smells also like fresh oranges and citrus! This duo definitely made a great improvement on my skin and help to minimize my smile lines.

I used this set for a little over 2 months now.

I use the Deep Moisturizer in conjunction with Wrinkle and Remedy Plus and Vit. c and retinal. I feel this is a great combo for keeping my skin looking healthy, especially in the winter months. I also use Beautiful Reset as directed.

I think all the all of the MD Complete products I have tried are excellent. As good as any that are triple the price.

I have extremely sensitive, combination skin, which has dry patches in winter, and oily in summer. Every serum I have tried has left my skin tacky. This one has been the best so far in that regard. My skin didn’t react, even the dryer parts.

First of all, the packaging is outstanding. I love the bottle and shape which is not only nice to look at, but easy to hold and the pump makes for easy use, all important factors for me. It’s worth noting that I was initially concerned having combination/oily skin it may produce excess oil but it didn’t.

Now, the serum is a beautifully created consistency which is easy to apply to my skin without any unnecessary pulling, rubbing or tugging which is also a mega positive factor with skincare. The serum was easily applied with fingertips with little effort.

The many benefits I experienced were almost instant. My skin felt soothed, cooled and hydrated, without any stickiness or residue (another important factor, particularly when applying make up). The serum is quickly absorbed sinking straight into my skin giving me the reassurance I need to protect my skin from the daily environmental factors I am exposed to daily.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A PRODUCT LIKE THIS? One of the secrets that I discovered a long time ago was using a serum or basic product that has hyaluronic acid in it as a primer, especially for dry or more mature skin.

It also works with oily skin, but the results are most dramatic with normal to oily. The purpose of the product is to enhance the skin’s natural moisture so that the makeup will enhance what your skin looks like and you will feel a lot nicer when it is all done.

It makes an excellent primer. I used to use a product called LORAC Aqua Prime. The problem is that people did not understand that this type of product has a unique way of applying it. I will get to that in another section.

Due to misunderstandings, the company discontinued the product. There is Swanson Hyaluronic Acid Serum 1 fl oz (29. 6 ml) Serum which is similar and it works nicely, but it is just the hyaluronic acid without the other cosmetic ingredients that some people want.

Until now, I did not have a product that I could recommend to people that was like the Aquarium. Let’s take a look at why this Mineral 89 from Vichy could be one of the more important products you could try.

WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT LIKE? This skin booster is a simple clear soft gel. It has no scent, color, or silicone in it. It comes in a clear glass bottle with a pump on it. The pump does work gradually if you are careful so that you are not wasting product with a full pump every time.

A little goes a long way so you don’t need that much. HOW DO YOU USE THIS PRODUCT? This is where you need to pay attention if you are with me this far. The way that you use this product is to do the following: -Cleanse your face -Apply a pump and a half of Mineral 89 and smooth around face and neck (using more if necessary) -Apply a good face cream on TOP of the Mineral 89 -Go as you are or apply whatever makeup you desire.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS PRODUCT What is very interesting about this type of product is that hyaluronic acid works best when it is BETWEEN your skin and the moisturizing creams. It pulls moisture into the skin from the cream.

If you don’t put cream on top, it could make you feel drier. This booster combined with the cream applied as instructed above will cause the face to be plumper and moisturized looking. Makeup will go on a bit nicer, and over time you will see skin look more youthful when you apply makeup.

DOES THIS WORK WITH ANY FACE CREAM? Yes, it will work with any face cream, but I might add that some will give better results than others. In this particular trial, I used the Vichy Neovadiol Day cream and at night I used the Neovadiol Nuit Night Cream.

Any nice anti-aging cream will work well for someone concerned with mature skin appearance when using this booster. WHAT WAS MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE? I found that this booster worked just as nice as the LORAC Aquaprime that I enjoy so much.

I used them in a side-by-side comparison and this one performed just slightly better with a bit plumper appearance of the skin, but they were very close. Since LORAC discontinued Aquaprime, I am very excited to have this product to recommend to people instead.

What I experience with this product is -Enhanced moisturizing -Plumper skin appearance -Smoother makeup application -Ability to go without foundation and use enhancers only. MY RATING This is a five-star product for me.

I am liking it so far and will continue to use this. THE BOTTOM LINE This product is a great primer. It is good to use under moisturizer and will enhance the properties of face creams. Makes a great primer under makeup and is good for all skin types, especially normal to dry and mature skin as well.

I was so excited to try this serum as I am a huge hyaluronic acid fan as it hydrates, plumps and boosts radiance. Although I do not have sensitive skin it is great knowing that it is suitable for all skin types.

I like that this serum provides 24-hour hydration so can be used in the morning and / or evening and even layered with other serums. I did wonder where the ‘89’ come from. Minéral 89 products have a unique combination of 89% Vichy thermal mineralizing water and natural origin hyaluronic acid which is far more effective than its counterpart synthetic types.

I applied the serum morning and evening onto slightly damp skin after my toning stage. After 10 minutes I followed with my usual moisturiser. I keep this bottle in the fridge which provides a lovely cooling sensation on the skin.

It spread evenly and doesn’t have that sticky feeling like some HA products can have. It’s fragrance free which is a plus and a little goes a long way. I must say I’m really liking the Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid range as they are noticeably making my skin look more dewy/ plump.

I absolutely love this product for my dry skin and hands. It’s thick, rich and amazingly moisturizing. The exfoliating factor is a big bonus for me. Beautiful packaging too! My only request is that you put this in a jar since it has the consistency of a luxurious body butter.

I always dispense as much as I can into such a container because it’s SO much easier to access and I don’t have to fight the pump with slick hands. Plus, I hate the idea of wasting ANY of this product when I can’t pump the rest out of the bottle.

More amazing than $50 department store hand creams. Honestly, the fancy hand creams might smell great, feel nice and packed with supposedly skin beneficial ingredients, but I just wanted a hand cream that does its job.

Once I tried this, my days of paying for fancy hand creams are over and I couldn’t be happier. My hands are always soft and looking as if I just washed them. The nail cuticles are taken care of as well.

Unlike just a normal lotion, there is something about the texture, although you don’t feel like it’s layered onto the skin, it just “protects” the hands instead of being absorbed and gone. I guess there is a reason it’s designed specifically for hands.

So, like the title says, I have incredibly thin, dry skin and some annoying sensory issues. In moderation, the cream isn’t greasy, but if you use too much then it is — which is normal. I’ve found it makes my painfully itchy skin hardly noticeable.

It’s certainly not a ‘put-on-once-and-dry-skin-goes-away-forever’ type of thing, obviously (since that doesn’t exist), so you need to apply it regularly, but it’s still much, much better than any other brand or type of lotion I’ve ever tried.

The fragrance-free bit is also a splendid touch and doesn’t make mine or my dog’s allergies act up All in all, I definitely recommend for anyone who can’t stand lotions, creams, or just oily textures in general on their skin like I can’t.

I have been using this off and on for many years. it’s getting more difficult to find now but used to be available in drug stores. it is consistently getting five stars for reviews and that’s because it actually does what it claims to do.

I’m 70 years old if I go without it for a while I see a big difference. after using it for a few weeks you will see noticeably softer and firmer skin and find lines and wrinkles were definitely reduced.

I have pretty sensitive thin skin and it is very gentle and exfoliates without burning your skin like some of the other alpha hydroxy products do. in the very beginning you might notice a little bit of tingling and a burning sensation that is extremely mild but that’s how you can tell it’s working and then your skin adjusts to it I guess because I don’t know that any longer.

you will definitely see results with this product!.

I love Essential Renewal Lotion. I’ve used it for too many years to remember when I began. I started using it to supplement treatments for adult acne. Exfoliation is essential. I no longer have skin issues, but attribute that I don’t have scarring on my face because of the AHA.

I also use it on my body, mixing it with my regular lotion after shower twice weekly. Although I have used it up to 3-4 times a week in the past, I found I had to work up to that. This treatment is wonderful to assist in maintaining a smooth, even skin tone.

My only complaint is that they reduced the size of the bottle from 6 to 4 oz. Sad, but it seems the way many are doing now instead of notably raising the price.

I have been using this product for 25 years at night and what a difference it has made. It gently exfoliates and yet nourishes my combination dry/oily skin and doesn’t leave it in distress, it does exactly what it needs to do.

I love this product! It reduces and minimizes fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, sun spots, dark spots left by pimples and clears the complexion and tightens my pores. It balances the excess oils and purifies the skin, truly.

I am a frequent Vitamin C serum user, so I wasn’t expecting much when I tried the RoC MultiCorrexion Revive + Glow Daily Serum. The first thing that I noticed about the serum was that it was not irritating at all, like some Vitamin C serums can be with my sensitive skin.

This prompted me to test the ph to make sure that it was still at the correct level to be effective and it fell within the right range, so I’m not sure how they formulated this to be at the right level while still being sensitive skin friendly.

I will definitely be purchasing this in the future. There weren’t any visible results, but I had been using a Vitamin C serum prior to trying this brand, so my skin had already been receiving the benefits from the ingredient, and so at this point I’m working with ongoing maintenance and not repair.

Overall though, I’m happy, since I was purchasing a more expensive product before.

It states good for women over 60 well um, I don’t think so. I have recently use other Lancome Renergie face creams for daytime and those do moisturize. I am shocked and will try to return for a refund.

I have been using Lancome Absolute for the past 3 months and love it. Two ago I was in a Nordstrom store and the Lancome rep. Lisa give me a sample and boy this cream is very luxurious, it goes on the skin like velvet.

I noticed a difference after the first use. I used it for 1 week and went back to let Lisa know how amazing this cream is. There was another lady at the counter and she give me a sample as well since I was raving about it.

Absolue L’Extrait is an incredible Product! The texture and performance of this moisturiser is amazing : you can see the difference even on an older woman’s skin! Little is needed on each application and it therefore lasts much longer than other similar products.

It can also be bought as a refill capsule to be put back into the original pot. Love it! Lesley.

As I started to get older I also started to realize the importance of three things rest, hydration, and skincare not that my skin was/ is horrible I just felt I needed a little pick me upper and also a little preventative measure and I must say this is by far the best product I’ve used ever.

I stopped using Essential Renewal Cream 10% AHA for about one year and noticed a horrible difference in my facial skin. My fine lines, skin tone, and wrinkles were so very noticeable and I felt awful having to look in the mirror everyday knowing how good my skin looked before in all my past years when I was using the cream.

If you are going to “stack” another product on top, take a few minutes to do another part of your night regimen because it will pill if you don’t allow it to do what it needs to do. After figuring that out, I’ve got nothing even slightly bad to say.

The combo of this and the Firming Face Cream is amazing. I haven’t been using it long enough to see great results, but I’ll say I felt the difference the first time I used it. My skin is soft and smooth and my skin looks less red and blotchy which amazed me.

I have sensitive skin and retinol always seems to make me peel. I’ve tried every medical grade bean from ZO to SkinMedica. They all irritate my skin. NOT this stuff. It is a time released 0. 25% Retinol and uses plant-based Bakuchiol.

It hydrates while still doing the job of a retinol. I have been using this product for two years, I’m 47, and it has made a difference in my skin tone, texture and I have seen an overall tightening effect (it took months of using it for me to notice this).

I love this stuff and highly recommend it, especially if your skin hasn’t reacted well to retinol.

I love revision Vitamin C Lotion 30%. I received a full sized product as a gift with one of my purchases from lively skin. At the time I was using a different vitamin C from a different company. I ran out of my old vitamin C and instead of spending more money on a new one, I pulled out my Revision sample.

I liked it even better than the one I was before. It had a higher concentration of vitamin C. My sun spots are getting lighter. It goes on smooth and creamy with no breakouts or irritations. Needless to say, when I finished full size sample, I reordered it and am now on my second bottle.

My quest to find an effective dark circles cream is over!.

I am a 51-year-old female with an olive complexion and have used TNS Advanced+ Serum (or the previous version) for about 15 years (when I can afford it!). I have extremely dry skin and I conduct fieldwork semi-frequently for my job (sun exposure).

The TNS serum has done a remarkable job maintaining the health of the skin on my face with respect to wrinkles and texture. I haven’t had as much luck with my neck (which is actually why I started using it in my 30s), but it’s definitely protected the skin on my face.

I can absolutely see the quality of my skin decline when I try to replace this product with an alternative. Because I suffer from melasma (discoloration), I’ve always considered my skin “bad”. It’s therefore been surprising – now that my generation is in their 50s – to have female friends ask me what I use to keep my skin so healthy – what they mean is wrinkle control! Due to the discoloration, I’ve never had skin that anyone envied before!.

I’ve been using Exfoliating Day Lotion for well over 20 years. I was introduced to it by a aesthetician I went to monthly who worked in a plastic surgeon’s office. It makes my skin feel very smooth and doesn’t stimulate oil production.

But the thing I love and the reason I will never stop buying it is the smell. It’s not really a “scent,” as in floral or fresh or whatever supposedly pleasant fragrance most lotions have added to them.

I don’t know how to describe the smell– it’s not chemical or medicinal in any way. Not herbal, but it is very natural. It actually reminds me of toast. Or sweetgrass. Or paper. Words fail me. But when I smell it on my face during the day, I absolutely love it, and it makes me very happy.

I hope they never change the formula!.

My esthetician recommended I switch to Obagi products and suggested adding this to my skincare routine. I love the product. It goes on luxuriously and absorbs quickly. My only complaint is the top where the product dispenses is not secure and pops off when squeezed releasing too much product.

I wrote to Lovely Skin and provided photos and they are working with Obagi for a replacement. Hopefully I will receive one.

I really love all Obagi products but this is hands-down one of the best vitamin C serum I use. It’s small enough that you can travel with it, it’s a great price. It’s potent so you actually are getting a good product.

And it does it’s job as a serum. I will never go back to using any other vitamin C serum during the day.
