As virtually all reviews state, this is a quality product. It is well made (no sharp ends on the teeth) and durable (the teeth don’t break). In fact, I have at times found a new comb to have teeth that were at first a little too sharp; and once in a long time, one out of many combs will break a tooth.

If you want this comb for just that reason, it’s good on thin hair. I have hair that’s between thick and thin and it worked well when my hair was wet. My MAIN reason for purchase was to get something that would part my hair with precision but this is absolutely horrible for that.

Both ends are way too thick. The “pointy” end of the comb never worked decently because it has a split since the comb is two halves put together. So my hair would always get stuck when trying to part it.

These combs are supposed to cut static in your hair. and to some extent they do that. Plus it has a very thin tail that’s good for parting. But they wear out very quickly. the ceramic coating comes off, the tail breaks off and they lose teeth! And this is with not that much wear.

I bought this for parting my 3c / 4a hair when protective styling. I got it last week and used it for the first time last night to part for some simple puffs. It was SO much easier to get a straight part with the fine metal tip than with either our bone rat-tail comb or plastic rat-tail pic.

I don’t think I will use the actual comb part–it’s too fine-toothed for either my hair or my little girl’s. But I love the metal tail; it’s just perfect for what I bought it for.
