20 Best Cleaner For Mold And Mildew (2023 Updated)

Have a deck on north side with a maple tree nearby. Have been fighting moss and algae for years, even on the siding. This is the best thing I’ve seen. No scrubbing. No dealing with power washer. Just spray it on and let it do it’s thing.

The green glow that would appear after a rain isn’t there anymore and the boards lighten in colour gradually. Will probably spray again in the worst areas but may wait a year or maybe again in the fall.

This is the least labour intensive thing I’ve tried and the 5 to 1 dilution ratio means a jug goes a long way.

I got four bottles of this wet and forget. I have a large deck and needs a good clean. I sprayed down a 12×12 section, a good amount but not pooling. Waited three days. Nothing. I spray it down with water.

Nothing. I took another 12×12 section and sprayed it down well, it was wet. Again waited a few days and nothing. I took another 12×12 section hosed it down and applied a good amount wet and forget and after two days nothing.

The entire deck looks like it did over two week ago just as dirty. Do not buy this produce. The reviews must be from the wet and forget owners friends.

I used this product at my cottage where we have ongoing mildew challenges. I was impressed with how well and how quickly it worked. I did some test areas for comparison and the mildew was gone within a day or two.

To me there was not sufficient safety information on the packaging, and since I had no idea what the product contents were I went online to find the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) to get proper instructions on safe usage.

And I am glad I did. Certain precautions are needed to use this product safely.

I always thought this was more of a mold killer and disinfectent until i recently used iit on the kitchen floor right out of a spray bottle. I soaked the floor in sections about 4ft by 4ft then brushed it around because our floor is not smooth it has some texture to it and Im not good at always taking my work boots off everytime I run in from outside to use the bathroom were as my wife reminds me so i figure lm going to disinfect the floor but to my surprise the RMR sprayed ,scrubbed a little then wiped up with a big old bath towel flipping it around as to keep a clean section to the floor done a super job at removing my ground in dirt disinfecting and the floor was not slippery as with some cleaners i have used in the past when it dryed.

I was impressed. Oh I should mention so was my wife.

spent a boat load of money on this and Rmr 86. at first I was really impressed. Seemed to work as advertised. under 10 to 20 seconds. stain gone. wood literally looked brand new. i WAS really happy. I then applied the RMR 141 RTU.

AS DIRECTED ON LABEL. after this. no lie. all the wood looked brand new. Extremely impressive. BUT. I returned to my attic exactly 2 and a half weeks later. only to find probably 75 or more percent of ALL the stains were RETURNING.

Very disappointed. especially after spending over 500. 00 on all this “Miracle” solution. Not worth the EXPENSIVE PRICE TAG IM SORRY. I literally went to the biggest grocery store you know. bought 7 or 8 gallon jugs of CLEANING BLEACH.

returned to my attic and applied bleach straight to the areas of returning mold. Yea it took about 1min for the stain to disappear. but. months later. NO STAIN OR MOLD GROWTH. I’d ask this company to refund my money if I hadn’t used it all.

Hands down bleach was the better option. LOADS CHEAPER AND MOLD STILL HASNT RETURNED. over 3 months now and STILL NO MOLD GROWTH. Maybe I’m just lucky. but after applying bleach to the same areas that , after using RMR SOLUTIONS(AND IT RETURNED NOT EVEN 3 WEEKS LATER).

there is no new mold growth. Save a few hundred dollars. go with bleach. This product did remove it fast. but what does that matter if it returns in less than a month?.

10/10 this stuff is freaking great. I feel like you could put it on a moldy piece of bread and it would make it new. Jk. But put it in a couple closets that were ate up with mold so bad it was getting on the stuff in there.

Threw everything away, sprayed it all over the walls and then wiped it with a dry rag after a couple minutes and they looked brand new. Temporary fix to a bigger problem in my case, but it for sure works.

Blew our minds when we came back and all the mold was gone.

I have been searching for over a year for a mould remover. I was about to give up when I found Concrobium Mould Control. Bought it to clean the mould from the seats on my 12 year old pontoon. I tried it on the captains chair with poor results.

Then I realized from reading the internet literature again that what I really needed was Concrobium Mould Stain Eraser. Went to Lowes and bought a jug. My wife chastised me for wasting my money on another useless product.

I mixed up a 1/4 supply as per the instructions and tried the captains chair as a trial area. Came back 2 hours later to find I had one clean chair and a bunch of very dirty seats. Early the next morning while the boat was still in the shade I mixed up another 1/4 supply and Started on the seats.

Two hours later my wife came down and was completely shocked. The seats look brand new, it is absolutely unbelievable. I went over to my son’s place ( he has a brand new boat, sold his old one because of mould stains).

I told him I had just replaced my seats on the boat, what did he think? His response was how much did they cost you? When I told him $20 and 2 hours of work he was floored. No one can believe how good the seats look.

Super-great product. The only one I’ve found that can get rid of 1-2 yr. old mold stains of Sunbrella covers & biminis & furnature. It’s somewhat “involved”, & a bit of work. (I’ll be making a video) But worth the work.

They’ve stopped making it (hopefully they’ll change their minds on that bad decision), so it’s wuite expensive at “scalpers” rates.

Just opened up our nice hardtop and found dome mould on an bulk end. Really not happy. I am pretty anil so I reasearched lots, then went to my neighbourhood Lowes. Asked my contact and he recommended this.

Got home, measured out what I needed added HOT water, waited as per instructions and applied with a clothe. I wore gloves and eye wear just because. 90 percent came off right away. Amazing. Will spot dab 1 area.

I love this product and am unable to find it in local stores any longer so decided to order it on ebay. When it arrived the shipping box was wet and smelled strongly of bleach. Upon opening the box the individiual box with X14 logo was saturated with the spilled x14 and all the bottles were wet with it also.

I dried them with a paper towel and tightened each of the lids. I put them in another box with plastic under it incase it was still leaking. It did not leak any further. It seems apparent that the tops were not on tightly and during the shipping someone must have laid the bottles on their side causing the leakage.

I would recomment that before shipping the tops be checked to make sure they are on securely and you might consider putting on the shipping box “this side up”.

We used this product after finding water damage in the used motorhome we purchased. We were upgrading the floors and brother in law recommended it. Cleared up all the mold that had built up over the years.

i discovered Wet & Forget several years ago and have used it on roof shingles, concrete sidewalks, landscaping rocks, patio pavers, vinyl siding and my home’s brick exterior. Wow! What a time-saver this product is! Just mix with water (5 water to 1 W&F) in a garden pump sprayer and have at it.

Saturate well, don’t be stingy. As other reviewers have noted, you need to be patient as you wait for results. In the case of vinyl siding, the green algae will disappear in a matter of hours, leaving behind only dark areas of dead algae that subsequently will be washed off by several rains.

In all other applications, be patient and let Wet & Forget’s enzymes do their job. You’ll think nothing is happening because the change is gradual. Suggest you take a “before” picture and then compare to what you see after 1 -3 months have passed.

Or leave one small area untreated for comparison. Results easily last a year, even in high-humidity areas. I’ve needed to repeat some applications only after two years. For roofs, note that Wet & Forget is available in a hose-end spray bottle that projects a stream 30′, plenty of distance to cover all but the very highest roofs.

The sprayer format is more expensive per ounce; if you need more product, just buy the less expensive concentrate gallon and then refill the sprayer. If you’re in a hurry for a clean sidewalk or whatever, I’d suggest power-washing for a quick result, then follow up by spraying with Wet & Forget to prevent the regrowth of algae or mold.

(Don’t power wash shingles — you’ll damage them!) Last bit of advice — be sure the surface is DRY before spraying. Using this on a wet surface is much less effective. Have fun! :-).

First off, I ordered 2 jugs, and after I got it opened and started reading the instructions, you’re supposed to apply it on dry surfaces. Mine were damp, but I didn’t think that would be a problem. Both jugs were supposed to have a 3′ little tube/hose to attach the sprayer to one end and stick the other into the top of the jug.

No tube on either jug. I had to jam the sprayer into the top. I doused everything and then read on the back that for green stains it can take 3-4 DAYS, and for dark or black stains it can take 2-4 weeks or longer for them to fade.

I could have just squirted some soap on them and hosed it down if I didn’t want it to look like I just cleaned. That is far too long for results, it cost 2x more than 30 seconds cleaner , and cleaned about the same, which in my view didn’t even make a dent.

Don’t waste your money. After it dried there was a sticky film on everything as well, which there is no way I’m waiting a month or more to see if it fades. I don’t recommend this product.

I’ve applied this product using an inexpensive garden sprayer with a hand pump which made on gallon at a time. I brought the garden hose end up to the roof so I I could refill it as I went along, making a new mixture each time.

Because it will cause foaming, I slowly added water first, then the Wet&Forget concentrate to avoid foaming. Two weeks ago, I applied another dose because the shingles had a good amount of black mold.

When applying, try to do a few rows of shingle at a time to make sure you get a more even covering. I went up on roof two days ago, and it looks like the mold is slowly fading. We haven’t had much rain since the earlier applications, so I’m not expecting a rapid remediation.

My neighbor also noticed the change. For an average size home, the two pack should be enough for one application. If you have any left over, just make more mix and hit the darkest mold spots again to heavier coverage.

The best time to apply is in late afternoon when sun is low and shingles are not hot, to give the solution time to wet the shingle surface and better personal comfort from too hot a sunshine. Also, since shingles remain wet longer, you can more easily see where you sprayed to better insure uniform coverage.

Hopefully, the mold will be fully gone in a few more months. Then, I’ll be sure to reapply again in a year or two to keep more mold from forming.

This product is heavy duty. It describes directions to kill a number of contaminants, including HIV in medical settings, so I know it must be good! It seems like a product a professional cleaning and disinfecting company would use, so I really trust it to disinfect things.

The smell isnt awful, and it doesn’t give me a headache like other products. I do not think I will use this regularly, but as a deep-clean, particularly after being sick, I will absolutely use this!.

I like this Mold Remover and and Disinfectant. It works well and with ease. It doesn’t have a terribly strong odor itself, which is good. My tub looks great, my sinks are gleaming, and, with this cleaner, all my nooks and crannies are now lacking dinge and dirt.

I absolutely recommend Mold Armor. And always read the bottle, front and back.

This product works as designed. Educate yourself on the various products and how they work before purchasing. i chose this product since it was highly concentrated. i am currently remediating mold and this product will go a long way.

i will use it in various areas, but my current intended purpose is to spray the dirt in my crawlspace before encapsulating. Lets get something clear first. There are products that kill mold and leave the body behind and this is absolutely fine.

it all depends on the intended purpose. if you intended this product to kill mold and remove the body with absolutely no work on your part, then look elsewhere. Bleach will obviously make a noticeable difference vs this product because bleach “bleaches” and can dmg the surface you are working on.

furthermore , bleach is not preferred because it stays on the surface of what you spray. if you intend to use bleach, then mix with dish liquid to help it soak into the surface. bleach is not approved for mold remediation but it does have uses so take the time to research what you really want and which products will give it to you.

do you want to kill everything? do you want to kill it and remove it with no work? there are products many times more expensive , but this product is cost effective and worth it.

My mother has a bathroom where even though she has an exhaust fan, the moisture still has a tendency of being a little much at times. She noticed a little mold on her wall. She used this and it made things easy for her.

She followed the instructions on the bottle and went to work. The smell of this cleaner isn’t overbearing. It’s got a pleasant scent and doesn’t smell super chemically. She didn’t have to scrub or anything.

It just wiped off. It also didn’t take any of the paint of the wall like some cleaners she has used in the past. The thing that we have noticed after using this is that it does help with her not accumulating mold as quickly.

We will he replacing her exhaust fan with something a lot better this weekend but we will definitely always keep this on hand if we ever run across the issue again.

I love there was no mixing needed. It was ready to use right away. It works fast. In fact, i could see the clean in minutes. The instructions were clear, and the steps were easy to follow. After you spray surrounding vegatation with water for protection, you spray your house or whatever you;’re cleaning and only wait ten minutes to rinse the product off.

It’s not foamy but does have a strong bleach smell. I love that you get good coverage area for product you use. I’ve learned to not use it in direct sunlight and don’t wear nice clothes or get it on your skin and you’ll be just as pleased with it as I was.

We just bought a brick house and need to clean the brick. We got this to try if the weather ever cooperates. It’s been cold and windy which are two things that aren’t a good idea with trying to clean.

I have read to make sure to wear eye protection when using this. This product BLEACH in it so be aware of that also and don’t wear anything that could be ruined. We tried a small test on our concrete driveway and it seems to work.

I also read that you might need multiple applications and with our house that will probably be the case. I think overall this product does what it needs to after we tested a small part. We will see how the rest of the house is once we really use this.

My father in laws house has light brown siding and every single spring we have to get buckets and sponges and soap and scrub his siding down because it gets that nasty mold and mildew on it. My husband found this mold armour EZ house wash and it works So great! It’s so easy to use.

No more buckets and scrubbing! You simply hook the bottle up to a garden hose and start at the bottom of the siding spray and coat the siding all the way to the top. Wait 10 minutes and rinse. A few of the thicker mold/mildew we had to do again but it’s so simple and easy.

This worked really well! I agree with other reviews that the smell is very strong and you should open a window and get ventilation. It has a chlorine smell and it did irritate my throat and nose. I sprayed this a generous amount in my gross shower and let it sit for a few hours and came back and most of it was gone! I didn’t even scrub.

I did one more treatment a week later and my shower was mold free! The instructions say not to leave it sitting but I did. This worked really well because I had a disgusting year’s worth of black mold in my shower.

We moved into this house 1. 5 years ago. When we moved in the Master Bathroom Shower Had Mold!! I used this spray for 1. 5 years Spraying the Shower only Once Per Week. I would let the spray sit in the shower for maybe 5 minutes then rinse it out.

Well the spray changed the color of both the tiles and grout to White!! It’s unfortunate but I cannot use this product any longer. This product Did remove the mold. However… IF YOU HAVE WHITE TILES AND WHITE GROUT I would definitely use this!!.

We own a camper and this is all I use to clean the outside of it. Our camper gets black streaks running down it after each rain or just sitting. if you own a camper-you know about the black streaks that always come.

This product works so perfect to wipe those off. I tried other products and did not work as good as this. It is easy to use, spray on and wipe off. It a spot is harder to get off I just let spray sit on it for about 5 seconds then wipe.

Our camper has been painted 3 years ago. This product does not harm our paint. As long as we own a camper, I will always have this on hand. It really works perfectly. The smell isn’t overpowering either.

This stuff worked great. I used it on some mold around my windows and patio doors that have been there for over a year and it came off no problem. I let it soak for about 5 mins as outlined in the instructions.

Tried using vinegar in the past on mold in the same areas and it didn’t work very well. Highly recommended.

I had some very dirty spots with black mildew on the back of the house and a few sprays of this and a bit of light scrubbing has it looking better than new. Love that it doesn’t have any bleach in it yet still cleans so well!!.

Our grandparents, uncles, and aunt’s gravestones were barely readable due to the buildup of the moss that grows on them. We didn’t know if the mold and mildew remover would work but it worked wonderfully.

I have used this product on my car, sailboat and windsurfers. In all cases, it did a great job protecting material from the sun’s rays and maintaining the original appearance. It does not leave a bad smell, an offensive sheen or a really greasy feeling.

Highly recommended for sails (dacron and monofilm), trampolines (polypropylene), dashboard (vinyl) and pre-cleaned seats (leather). Yes, this would probably work well on rubber (tire sidewalls. ). No, I use other products for fiberglass that last even longer and provide a shiny appearance (StarBrite Polish).

This is great stuff, cleans mold and does not contain bleach so it does not smell like bleach! Great product
