20 Best Bikinis For Older Ladies (2023 Updated)

Over the course of this past summer, I have purchased 10 different bikini tops and tankinis in five different sizes. I am beyond frustrated. In the past, I was able to order my size, and I was good to go for summer.

The same size in the v-neck underwire bikini top vs. the twist front bikini top are woefully varied in size — even compare with Lands’ End suit tops I have that are a couple years old. I AM BUMMED because for the past 22 years, Lands’ End has had dependable and my go-to bathing suit.

This is the first year that I’ve sent back and reordered numerous times. I am popping out of 10DD tankini tops. I tried 10DD bikini top (twist front) and it is too large. Come on, Lands’ End. Step up your game and bring back the quality we have become accustomed too.

I am very disappointed in your inconsistency with sizing. Otherwise, your quality looks as awesome as ever. That does me no good when I am exchanging and paying for return shipping constantly. Please, please, please — think sizing and manufacturing through for next year.

I ordered the 18W DDD to see if it worked with the other navy polka dot swim pieces. I have the same top in black, G-cup and it worked ok for my 36GG (EU size)/36J (US size). Unfortunately, the DDD does not work for me.

I think it could for someone else if you like having cleavage AND if both breasts are the same size. Mine are not and it was obvious in the cleavage. I like the wide strap and I like putting it on over my head as one reviewer suggested.

I did not try to work with the large hook because other reviewers said the hook was difficult to use putting on and taking off good bra and I hope it becomes available in colors other than solid black in future seasons.

I bought this top thinking it would be a slam-dunk based on the reviews, but even though I wear a C-cup bra, the cups on this top are massive, and the band is somewhat tight. The top is hard to put on with the closure in back, especially with the large underwires and small band.

There’s room enough in each cup to fit both of my hands once it’s on, which is comical. The cups make up more than half of the total band length, which is an odd ratio for the proportions of a regular, non-D/DD/DDD top.

I sadly cut the tags off before I realized how ill-fitting this top is, so I unfortunately own it now, but I sincerely regret that!.

I LOVE this swim top, it’s the only one I’ve ever found that’s easy to get in and out of, and the fit and coverage are great. I try to wear high necked swimwear now because I had radiation treatment and am not supposed to expose that area to the sun.

Only thing that’s a bit of a negative, is that the cup inside is not securely fastened. After washing it, I have to wiggle it around to get it smoothed out and in the right spot again, before I hang it to dry.

I’m short and not overweight, but not tiny either. I like things to fit comfortably, not tight. I think I could’ve gotten into the next size smaller but would not have liked the way it felt. A size 10 fit me good, not overly loose, but not uncomfortably tight which is common in swimwear.

No bagging or sagging or gapping. If you like a tight fit, or loose, that might affect what size you get. I am not tiny busted, so sometimes I need a larger top than bottom.

Bought this for comfort swimming in the pool, however, this top was uncomfortably high toward neck area and the band was very loose. I was honestly afraid the top might not stay in place while swimming my laps.

The pads in the bra area did not stay in place. The ability to adjust the straps was a good feature. I gave an extra star for that. I will be returning this top.

This is a great, somewhat modest top. Originally I purchased a size 8, but it seemed loose at the band and I thought it might not stay put. So I exchanged it for a 6 and it’s perfect. As an older woman I like the freedom of a two piece swim suit, but I’m not interested in exposing so much skin.

Paired with the 6″ swim shorts it’s an excellent swim/beach option for me.

I love the tummy control ultra high waisted bikini bottoms and have purchased several over the years. The ultra high waist is great for controlling the “middle age bulge”. Control bottoms which are merely high waisted (rather than ultra high waisted) target the backside, hips and lower abdomen only.

(The ultra high waisted swim skirt is just a bit too old lady for me. ) It appears Lands End may be discontinuing this product. It’s now out of stock and not available for backorder. WHY would you discontinue this great product? I hope I’m wrong!.

I have two of these, purchased in different years. (I believe from 2017 or 18, and 2019). Was hoping to buy more this year, but it seems to be discontinued with only smaller sizes left. I’ve tried another Lands End style, which did not work at all (why keep when the old suit is far more flattering?) and another, expensive brand, which was okay but pricey and the black top didn’t match my black swim bottoms.

I don’t understand why Lands End would stop making a women’s suit with a 4. 9 star rating? We are typically very critical of swimsuits. Why discontinue one that was such a hit? My only complaint is that the lining under the strap ripped a bit in both suits after some use, probably due to unavoidable stretching when putting it on.

I’m going to have a seamstress repair it instead of buying new suits. The other styles aren’t nearly as flattering for me. If this becomes available again, I would buy in a few more colors!.

You’d think a “chlorine resistant” suit would be comfortable for swimming – in this case, you’d be wrong. The fold over opens up in the water and you feel like you’re wearing an inner tube – so much drag! The waistband itself is very roughly seamed – uncomfortable.

I’m giving this suit two stars instead of one because it was true to size and hit my waist at the right point – but that’s all it has going for it. Lands End used to make great swimsuit bottoms that were modestly cut *and* comfortable to swim in – not anymore.

So disappointing!.

I had SUCH high hopes for this suit, it’s just a beautiful color – very flattering on many skin types and enhances a ‘glow’ color on the beach! BUT – if you are a B-C cup be warned that this is HUGE.

I’m a 36-38 B-C and I ordered a 12 & 14 and they both were GINORMOUS on me, not flattering and certainly not wearable. Like the C-cup ‘size’ was more like a DD. Very disappointing. And then the bottoms, OMG, if I wanted a G-string I’d order one! The bottom seat is like a French Cut (or Brazilian?) and has almost no coverage – in transparency, I’m very full-bottomed, but I’m pretty fit too (5’6″, 168lb & 41″ hips at widest point).

These would never stay ‘put’ on a beach or walking or with any movement. I JUST don’t get why a “suits for all” company has almost NO suits for curvy girls (they used to!) unless you want a plain-jane black bottom & top (come ON).

I still have a SSFA suit from about 3 years ago that is SEXY and FITS AMAZING and still looks new – must have changed MFR’g along the way, but it’s really disappointing.

Runs SMALL!!!! I’m so disappointed. This is a beautiful bathing suit! But, I ended up having to return both pieces and now waiting, going on a month, for another set. I had to order 2 sizes up and hoping they will fit.

I am a big girl, 6′ tall and have shopped in plus sizes for decades. I don’t have any false ideals that I would fit into a skimpy size 10 bathing suit. I know what size I am. And with this being a company that caters to sizing for us larger women, I was extremely disappointed to find they run small in this, and a couple other bathing suits.

I wear a 42DD & LOVE this top in an 18! Orange is absolutely gorgeous! It is so well made with the metal hook instead of plastic! This company makes quality at a low price, like nothing else I have found! Shame on the other companies for making inferior products at a MUCH higher price and kudos to Swimsuits For All!.

I had never bought this brand before but decided to give it a go. The fabric felt really good, loved that it had no padding as I can’t stand that and it seems robust enough particularly for bustier ladies like myself, to keep everything in place and look nice.

However, the sizing was completely off. I am a pretty constant 34DD with the odd exception and I guess the caveat that I have only used triumph and chantelle for years as find them good quality and accurate fitting.

The band was spot on but the cup felt more like a C than a DD. Double checked the sizing and seemed accurate. So, I guess if you get the sizing right it’s a really nice product.

At the grand old age of 36 I decided to wear a bikini for the first time ever. Obviously wanted something well made and Bravissimo get a great rep. Order came. Tried on. Perfect size and fit. Really pleased.

Second day of my holidays one wire came out that morning. Second wire poked out in the afternoon and the material went all saggy and distorted or something. I was gutted to say the least. So raging after spending that amount of money.

At age 57 I’ve got my first bikini!! I ordered the top only as the bottoms I wanted (to cover a bad scar) were not available in my size. After speaking to one of your lovely ladies I was put on a “watch list” to see if they came back in.

Hurrah, following a phone call from you guys and the matching bottoms were at my door. The fit on both items is perfect and my scar is unnoticeable so for the first time in my life I’m confident enough to wear a bikini.

This top is my go to suit this summer. My DD’s are supported well in this top no spillovers. I love that the lacing is crisscrossing the back instead of the behind the neck. I often wear this top for my early morning workout and lounging around the pool in the afternoon.

This is a great beach bikini top, the fit is very comfortable and easy to move in without feeling like you’ll fall out! I’m a small in t-shirts but ordered the M and fits great. Love Roxy bathing suits because of the great colors of tops and bottoms to mix and match.

First off, the color is amazing! The best bikini pieces are the ones you put on and you don’t need to worry about it going anywhere while you are doing whatever you want to do in a bikini and this is one of those! I absolutely love it!.

I ordered several bikini tops from O’Neill. I couldn’t believe how cheap they all felt. They felt like tissue paper and like they would fall off or fall apart in the water. The padding was very thin as well, barely covered my nipples.

The cut was strange too. It flattened my chest and looked very unattractive. You can see in the photos that it doesn’t fit the models either, it sits a little off their chests. The white lining on the inside showed a bit when I tried it on, just as it does on the models in the pictures.

I am usually a 30C or 32B and the cups on this top were too small for me and the tie in the back had to be tied as tight as possible. I will not be buying another swimsuit from O’Neill. I returned everything I ordered.

The green color is beautiful exactly like pictured. Glad I could mix and match sizes for bikini top and bottom (got M top and bottom XXL). The only downsize is that the bikini top has no padding, which I was unaware of when purchasing.

My nipples are super visible and thats when the bikini is dry. Cannot imagine when wet. I am not happy about it, but since it is extremely difficult to find a bikini for my body type and size I decided to keep this one and see how I feel in it when swimming and bathing.

I only wish there was padding. Shipping was fast. The material seems of a good quality. My first purchase here. Hope this bikini will last and hold well in water.

I love the quality and style on these bottoms. I have multiple colors, but the quality truly shines through in the white ones I got. The double layered fabric ensures that it’ll never be see-through, and the fabric itself is extremely comfortable.

Would recommend! As for sizing, I’d recommend sizing down if you’re between sizes. I’m usually a 4/6 in bottoms and dresses, and I usually get a medium in swim bottoms because of my hip measurements.

But in this one, I tried both a small and a medium, and the small was perfect. The medium would’ve been way too big.

I only purchased the swim top in the black/multi rainforest print. Bottoms were not available in store. I planned to use a plain back pair of bottoms that I already own. It’s not made for any woman who may need some lift or support.

Your breasts may fall out the bottom. I found that by crossing the straps in the back it does help with the overall fit and a more finished/fashionable look, but for me it was too much trouble. Returned.

Great cut, very flattering bottom and supportive top. Purchased black bikini. Loved it so much I purchased white for Hawaii trip. Washed to wear. Didn’t try on. Got to Hawaii – see through? Or maybe just too revealing? Bottoms left NO question about what was underneath the suit.

Customer service was WONDERFUL to me and allowed me to return the suit even though I had washed it and the suit was no longer “sell-able”. There’s a reason so much of my wardrobe is from WHBM. Quality clothing.

I bought this because I really like several other clothes that I purchased from WHBM, and decided to give their bathing suits a try. The lines on this suit are very nice. The only thing I don’t like is that there is not much flexibility in the sizing around my chest / back and it is a little tight.

I decided to keep it as it will inspire my exercise program!.

I like the shape of this and the coverage in back, but the leg (which hits lower than it appears online) looks kind of “old-lady” and also makes your legs look shorter and wider. It’s just too much material and kind of looks like a diaper.

With a slightly higher leg cut (without going all the way to skimpy bikini cut or a cheeky bottom, which I would NOT want), it would be flattering, look modern and be a perfect swim bottom. Unfortunately, I returned.

Both my husband and 11 year old daughter agreed with that decision.

Definitely not for curvy ladies. You need to be on the thin side. No support on top and the elastic straps stretches and rolls and turns. When stretched then the Material becomes see through and no longer looks right.

There is not enough material on the sides even chest area. It’s only for size small and extra small figures with zero body fat. No for size 10 or 12/14 woman’s sizes.

I was nervous to purchase because I’m usually very different sizes when it comes to bikini tops vs. bottoms. I decided I should go with the large because I typically need bigger tops than bottoms. I was pleased with the sizing on the top and the bottoms actually worked too! I have to tie them tight but they’ll work.

For reference I’m 5’8” about 125 size 32D bra.

This bikini looks better in person than pictured. Its high quality fabric feels great on and very well made. I purchased a size small. I’m 5’ 2” at 105 lbs with a 32C cup so the top is a tad bit small but the bottom fits perfectly with a great cut.

Ordered this bikini along with a few others. The colours are lovely and the top style is really nice, but unfortunately it comes up really small in the cup. I’m a 34G and ordered the GG/H as it wasn’t wired and I wanted good coverage.

It is tiny – I could potentially go up to the 36 GG/H but I think it will be too big in the back. Disappointed it doesn’t fit, but the bikini is lovely and the style is fab and nice as a change from a typical bra style bikini.

Bikini bottoms are great with a decent amount of coverage without looking frumpy.

I purchased this yesterday after trying on In store. I’d been put off previously ordering online as it said ‘slightly less coverage’. I’m a 34H and as a wife and mother don’t want everything on show! However I can say the top is a lovely fit.

I tried both sets of briefs but opted for the gathered brief as they were a better fit although I did go a size larger so I didn’t get ‘love handle squash’. The larger brief gathered in a strange way which made it feel like I had them on backwards.

Out of the box, this was beautiful. The fabric feels great and the cut is fantastic. The issue is with the “hidden wired plunge cups”. As another reviewer noted, these are not in fact hidden. Although the fabric of the top fit great, the mesh cups were enormous, baggy, and pushed up over the neckline of the exterior material.

I don’t think ordering a smaller size would help because the underwire was perfect. The design of the inner cups needs to be addressed.

Old Navy was my last hope to find a triangle bikini top that actually fits a large chest. Every other top I have ordered from numerous companies that ‘supposedly’ fit a 36G were a joke. I thought I was going to have to buy a sewing machine and start making my own.

I normally order the largest size they have thinking I can shorten the strings if I have to, but I followed the fit guidelines for Old Navy and they are PERFECT! The only change I made was to pull the side straps off of the tie and turn it in to a halter style.

I bought three different colors and I love them all!.

I have several Old Navy bikini bottoms. it’s my go to brand. However, I ordered a few of these this year and they gap in the back unlike the previous versions. For reference like the “Loose” review I am 5’5, 110 lbs, purchased the XS and the back just did not fit snug.

It loosely gapped all around the edge as if they were stretched out. I tried ordering twice, got three and all were returned. Yes, nice colors and prints but poor fit. Disappointing.

I ordered the star-studded and it’s an adorable print. I like that it’s patriotic – navy with red and white stars, but it’s not so obviously Americana that it will only be appropriate for 4th of July.

I usually wear a M in Old Navy tops and I ordered a M, which fits perfectly. I like the adjustable tie in the back, too. I’m sure I’ll be wearing this swimsuit often this summer!.

I was scared the dress would feel kind of stiff but as it turnes out I was completely wrong. The colour is true to the picture and it feels absoultely beautifull when you wear it, really comfortable but slick at the same time.

Would recommend if it suits your style. It has a certain attatraction to it which I quess goes with the material.

this is one of the best fitting tops I’ve found and I’ve tried a lot. I am a 38D and the size large fits me perfectly. the hidden underwire is comfortable and the padding adds nice shape. the thick straps offer great support and love that you can criss cross them at the back for a different style.

As soon as I seen this topi knew I needed it. I’ve since purchased 3 other colour ways of it. It’s perfect. I only 32a/b and feel so secure. So comfortable and I did isn’t have t be checking it out or adjusting it in any way.

I never write reviews but I feel I just had to concerning these swim bottoms. They are perfection! They are not grandmaw looking but perfect for ANY age that wants their bottom covered. They come just below the belly bottom and full coverage on bottom.

Imagine your most comfortable pair of panties, that is what they feel like. They are soft, great material, not thin and fit like a glove. There is no tugging at your bottoms all day to keep from riding up.

If you are on the fence, BUY these! Buy in every color, they are worth the money!.

It’s been about 10 years since I was last on the bandeau train. This Lively swim top is IT. Total convert, looks great on 34A chests. I’ll probably wear it out of the water too. I could have potentially sized up to a medium – I am a wide 34 – and I’ve sized up for Lively items in the past (ribbed bralette size M), but I got a Small, and I think I’ll be glad for a snug fit once I get it wet.

Would buy another.

I always get nervous with bandeau tops and if they will actually stay up and provide support, but this top does. It is the perfect width and stays in place without the removable straps (but also looks cute with the straps as well).

The cup inserts need to be adjusted so they fit in the right spot, but that’s the case with any inserts! Overall, the quality looks and feels premium as I have worn this a few times now already and it has not stretched, pilled, etc.

I struggle so much with finding a swim suit. I’m 5’10”, 155 pounds. I am always in between sizes or can’t find anything that covers my booty! I absolutely love these bottoms (I also got the All you swim bralette, which I love).

This suit is so comfortable and covers everything I need to cover which is especially nice when going on vacation with family or for work :). I bought a size medium and I was shocked when it fit. I am now a huge Lively fan!.

I love these bikini bottoms so much I bought a second pair. The premium surf fabric is so thick and the ribbed texture feels extra luxurious . The cut is flattering and the fit is true to size.

Love these bottoms! I was worried they would be too cheeky, but they are flattering and I am keeping them. Size small worked well on me – 5’3″, 120lbs.
