20 Best Bikes For Tall Men (2023 Updated)

I bought this bike in the light blue version last year so that I could get into better shape while enjoying being outside with my family. I’m a big girl and needed a sturdy bike that could hold up to my weight while also making it easy to want to ride so I don’t give up.

This bike is all of that and more. After not riding a bicycle for nearly 20 years, I got on this guy with so much anxiety but that quickly went away while riding. It took a few tries to get the gears right so they didn’t skip or throw the chain off but now it rides unlike any bike I’ve ever owned.

It is smooth, sturdy, and so easy to ride. I live in the mountains with harsher landscapes to ride in and this beast goes everywhere I have taken it. I can ride it in the snow, sand, mud, and dirt with ease and I don’t tire for quite some time riding this.

It shifts gears smoothly and has double disk brakes that stop well. I still need to fine tune the brakes a bit but am learning more on bicycle maintenence to get this guy in perfect riding order. I am having a blast with this bicycle and am very happy with my purchase!.

This bike was delivered to my door well packed and in good shape. Set up was straight forward but the instructions are for bikes in general, not really specific to this bike. They are however good enough for the minor amount of assembly to be super easy.

You will still have to dial in the brakes and shifters. There are youtube videos specific to this bike though that explains how to do all of that. The derailers and disc brakes are actually really easy to adjust once you have seen what screws do what.

As for the bike itself, it is lightweight, feels solid under you and is a real joy to own so far. I have ridden it every day since I got it all dialed in and I really like it. I think it’s a great value for a big box store bike and would recommend it as the absolute top choice at this price point for a fat bike.

You simply cannot go wrong with this bike for the price!.

This bike is awesome. I’ve used it for about 6 months in all kinds of weather – sunshine, rain, blizzards, several inches of snow – mostly on nicely-paved and badly-paved roads, and even on gravelly, rocky trails.

It holds up nicely, rides smooth and stable yet provides tons of fun! The wider contact patch of the 4-inch wide tires makes for a bit of a tougher ride than with a normal bike, but the sound they make on pavement when you really get moving is somewhat analogous to the whine of a powerful turbo engine in a race car.

Not that loud or intense, but it’s very cool and you’ll enjoy it. The frame is a nice, lightweight aluminum but the other components – screws and bolts and whatnot – are steel (I guess?) and will become corroded if left exposed to the elements.

So if you do get this bike and have to leave it outdoors for hours at a time on a rainy or snowy day, be smart and put some kind of cover over it to help keep it like new.

I was looking to buy 2 bikes (one for myself and one for my husband) for our anniversary. After a lot of research I chose the sixthreezero Around the Block Women’s beach cruiser bike in Mint Green for my bike.

I am 5’5 and find this the perfect size for me. I also experience pelvic pain and this bike allows you to sit upright rather than lean forward like with other bikes. The seat is wide, so it is much more comfortable than most other bikes.

I also like that the handles and seat are black so they do not get dirty like other bikes that have white. The bike was fairly easy to put together – I had never built one before and put it together myself.

I searched youtube for a video and had it together in no time. I took it for a ride but noticed that the rear brake was screeching a lot. I looked up how to adjust the brakes on youtube and tried to make adjustments, but then realized that the incorrect washer was placed on one of the brake pads (see attached photos, the left was correct and the right was wrong).

I contacted sixthreezero customer care and had a good experience with that. I was able to take my bike to a local bike shop and they reimbursed me for the cost the bike shop charged me to brake pads.

I communicated over email with sixthreezero customer care who was very responsive. When I received my bike back from the shop, I realized that they had adjusted my seat, I guess so that they could test out my bike.

My seat was then squeaking, but my husband tightened the bolts, and the squeaking went away! If you have any issues with this bike, I suggest looking on youtube for fixes, the bike most likely just needs to be adjusted, or to contact their customer care, who are excellent.

If you are looking for a comfortable, good quality, nice looking bike, I think you will be happy with this one.

I want to love my bike, and I want to love the company I bought it from, but both fall short. This was one of two bikes I purchased for my daughter and me during the pandemic. Hers was more difficult to assemble (not a sixthreezero bike), but easier to ride.

Mine (the sixthreezero bike) was easier to assemble, but not ready to ride. I may be naive, but at this price point I would not have expected to have problems with braking or the chain falling off. Our maiden voyage was a catastrophe.

The bike is beautiful and mostly comfortable (the design of the handlebars are a little difficult for those with arthritis in their wrists), but I know nothing of bike maintenance and was ill-prepared for having to perform it straight out of the box.

Thank goodness for modern phones and how-to videos (and semi-patient neighbors who tried their best to help). Nearly two years later and it’s still not calibrated correctly which I assume will have to wait until I have some means of transporting it to a professional bike repair shop.

Not what I would have expected, but this was the first (and only) time I’ve ever purchased bikes online, so perhaps I should have been better prepared. I got pulled into this purchase by the fancy marketing.

If I had it to do over again, I would have bought a second, less expensive bike like the one I got for my daughter (Snow Shop Everything New Lusso Classic Cruiser Bike Frame, Women’s). We ordered our bikes at the same time.

Hers arrived quicker and is still riding without any issue nearly two years later. As far as the company, when the bike was delivered, the fancy marketing offered a free bell. I followed the instructions, but never received the bell.

I might add that the only reason I am writing this review is because the company has now emailed me twice, asking me to review their product. I did review it on Amazon after I first purchased it. When they emailed me the first time asking for a review, I shared my experience above and that I didn’t not receive the promised bell.

Now that they’ve emailed me again, promising me rebates for a review, I’m going to air my grievances here. sixthreezero hasn’t responded to any of my emails, but I’ll respond to theirs!.

I decided to splurge and finally get myself a bike so I could get fit during the pandemic. I’d been eyeing these bikes for awhile, because I am out of shape and overweight, I wanted a comfortable bike that I could mount easily.

So I ordered a bicycle for myself and my son. Of course, unfortunately it took quite some time to get the bicycle because of the shortages. However, sixthreezero did right by me by offering a partial refund for the delays.

I assembled my son’s bicycle, which was a bit of a learning curve for me. I recommend reading the instructions AND watching their video. I also screwed up the brakes during assembly but I found some general brake videos and resolved that myself.

It wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately my bike was the one severely delayed and didn’t arrive until the cold weather had set in and after my baby was born. So I opted to take it to a bike shop for assembly, and being brave I decided to bicycle home.

The bicycle shop is about 5 miles from my house. It was tough for me, not having rode a bike in almost 20 years, but I made it! The bike was pretty darned comfortable and easy to ride. I thought I’d be sore the next day, and I wasn’t.

I haven’t had much chance to ride because of my toddler (whom I will soon buy a helmet for and attach the child seat), but the couple occasions I have have been a real pleasure. Just wish there wasn’t such a shocking lack of bicycle racks in the plaza near my house! I also received many compliments on the beauty of the bike.

Love my new road bike. Excellent price for quality provided. Bike is designed to go fast with aggressive ram handlebars for quality paved roads and paved bike trails. 4. 5 stars instead of 5 stars due to the lack of specification description for the product.

I will do my best to describe. Warning: This is a one size fits all bike frame size ~56 cm with 700 tires. This size is slightly too large for my 5’8″ 30″ inseam frame. I will still ride it. Secondly, highly recommend professional assembly, good learning experience assembling and calibrating/adjusting.

Make certain all nuts, screws, spokes and bolts are tight! Lastly, make sure you have an air pump that can meet the tires 80-100 psi requirement. PROS: carbon fork with aluminum frame, Microhift R8 STI shifters, Shimano Claris front and back derailleurs, 16 speeds (understand trimming), ProMax dual pivot brake calipers (not plastic), 700 wheels, nice color, 700x28cm tires fisher stem, pedals, seat & kickstand.

Everything you need is in the box. I only had to purchase a water bottle cage and water bottle!! CONS: Tires are made by Chao Yang tire company, pedals are plastic, not all components are Shimano, no idea who made the crank set/sprockets.

Try to beat this price with a brand name bike!! Easy upgrades for the tires and thinking about upgrading the pedals and brake pads. Right now this weekend warrior wouldn’t be able to notice any better components.

im in search or hunt i should say of a good road bike for beginners,ive set myself some short term goals for this year start with few miles and eventually build strenght to pedal harder but didnt want to spend a fortune so this just might be the rite one,open for all suggestions from the experienced fellas that will guide me in the rite direction havent road a bike since i was a kid im 52 so imagine ,thank you.

A few years ago, though living in suburban America, I gave up a car for a bicycle (and occasional rideshares for business). A lifestyle-choice experiment that lasts to this day. All the while, the old-school, pre-owned 10-speed bicycle I owned was a nearly 20-year old already pre-owned purchase.

Recently, it was time for me to let go of Ol’ Faithful, and so I began a journey. At first I made the mistake of chasing after deals per well-known name brands. 1st bike purchase from a department store, a disappointment, so I returned it.

2nd bike, from another department store, such a let down with defects, also returned. At some point, I left behind my local department stores and various online department store searches. I took my goal more seriously! Then I discovered a few *authentic* bike shops with online stores.

Early on, sixthreezero stood out above the rest for it’s straightforward messaging and ease-of-use website. So, then I found a good value-for-price option for me to buy direct from their online store, the sixthreezero EVRYjourney Men’s Casual Edition 26″ 7-Speed Sport Hybrid Cruiser Bicycle, Matte Black.

Once, I researched the online resources sixthreezero provides and the history and philosophy of the brand, I decided to also purchase their Forever Warranty. Considering that the shipping cost was free, the total purchase price was an amazing value.

As a work-from-home veteran, I’m also a technophile and online-buyer/home-delivery enthusiast. So, I could have a lot to be critical about anything going wrong with the purchase process, the shipping and handling, and/or the product quality or support.

Turns out that I have nothing but GREAT VIBES and GOOD THINGS TO SAY about this product! Despite the current 2020 economy downturn, the delivery of my new purchase was predictable and well-tracked and reported with updates along the way, and then complete within about one week as promised.

Their bike-in-a-box complete solution leaving me to complete the assembly was as simple as I could imagine. You’ve just got to go the website and watch an unboxing/how-to assembly video for the model bicycle in which you’re interested.

You’ll get it. For my own interest, I also downloaded and consulted the PDF complete assembly manual. As assembly proceeded, I was impressed and gratified with the feel of the quality and craftsmanship of the parts, materials, and frame of the bike.

There were a few very minor discrepancies between the video walkthrough and the tools and parts that arrived in the box, but nothing that my brain couldn’t sort out and realize that I for sure actually had absolutely everything as promised.

(I think the version, model of my bicycle seemed like a new listing on the online store; so I allowed for these minor incongruities without thinking much of it. ) After dealing with the lesser quality and mishaps of assembly with the previously store-bought bikes, I really came to appreciate the “legit bike shop with an online store” approach of sixthreezero.

As well, after having dealt with the department store staff who would assemble the on-floor bikes, I came to realize that having the uber-experienced legit bicycle experts at sixthreezero assemble my bike to the out-of-the-box 80%-assembled extent really makes a difference! After putting in my own time to assemble the bike the rest of the way, I was actually grateful for the relatively minor amount of assembly required and the video companionship to walk me through it.

(And, I am the sort to hire a handyman to do anything hands-on!) For the first time ever in my life, I have a sense of accomplishment and know-how and ownership of my bike like I’ve never had before.

Last, not least, riding my new sixthreezero EVRYjourney Men’s Casual Edition 26″ 7-Speed Sport Hybrid Cruiser Bicycle is bliss. First of all, the model of the bike is perfect for me. (Be sure to leverage the Choosing a Bike section under the Bike Advice tab at their website! For example, I certainly used the Bodyfit Explained post with their FREE BODY FIT QUESTIONNAIRE.

) After having bought and test-ridden and returned a couple of other bikes, ultimately riding my new EVRYjourney Casual Cruiser feels solid, easy-going to handle, and like I now have the right bike for the best value! A smooth, solid, trustworthy ride.

After owning an expensive 21-speed Schwinn, which gears locked up several times, i really wanted a simple 3-speed. The box was extremely damaged; staples were missing, the remaining two were hanging loose; large v-shape rip in cardboard, two holes punched through, including at the gear hub, which plastic protector was discolored (and had fallen off) from hard banging in transit.

Bike, unlike Sixthreezero assembly vid, was even difficult to remove from box, given tight packing and contents banged around. Acquaintances advised me to return it. The simplicity of 3-speed, however, is the reason I kept pushing to get the bike functional.

Assembly is not “easy”, as per description. i could assemble quite a bit but centering the front wheel with adjusting the brake pads, brake handle and cable required a professional (with fee). He also tweaked several spokes; he was not impressed with the bike.

It arrived July 5; Tuesday, July 19, finally got it ready to go. The shimano gear was very smooth at first, then a couple clackety-clacks; but, objectively, I might’ve switched gears too fast or they may be very sensitive.

Given the state of shipping box and banging at the gear hub I’m concerned about gear longevity. We have a few more days to try it out before the deadline to return. The matte black finish shows all hand- and fingerprints.

Front brakes still unevenly grab the rim. Seems like the value doesn’t match the price. I paid $806. 47 tax $9. 99 shipping; then clicked on my still-open bicycle page and found it had refreshed to a price of $479.

99 (40% reduction) and out of stock. Sheesh; what a frustrating experience.

GOT TWO EVRY JOURNEY ELECTRIC BIKES, ONE FOR ME AND ONE FOR MY WIFE, TO REPLACE OUR 20 YEAR OLD COMFORT BIKES. WE LIKED THE LOW BAR AND THE SEAT IS VERY COMFY. I ASSEMBLED THEM MY SELF AND IT WAS NOT VERY COMPLICATED WITH THE GOOD ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS.

BATTERY IS LIFE IS PRETTY GOOD ALTHOUGH THE BATTERY ON THE ONE MY WIFE RIDES LASTS LONGER THAN MINE. MAYBE BECUASE SHE IS LIGHTER THAN ME. MY BROTHER WAS VISITING AND WE WENT FOR A RIDE. HE LIKED THEM BUT NOTICED THE SHIFTING TO A DIFFERENT GEAR WASN’T WORKING PROPERLY AND WITH A LITTLE ADJUSTING IT WORKS PROPERLY.

GLAD HE WAS VISITING. OVERALL FUN TO RIDE, SPEED ASSIST IS ENJOYABLE AND FEATURES WORK WELL.

I researched many bikes and manufacturers before settling on Sixthreezero. My research paid off as this bike is well made, easy to handle and transport and a joy to ride. The bike arrived well packaged by Sixtrhreezero to prevent damage in transit.

The only assembly required was the handlebars, seat and pedals. The instructions were super simple for a novice bike rider. Everything is solid and well made. The paint job is beautiful and stands up well to riding.

I have had my bike for almost a year. The handle bars and seat were simple to adjust. Anyone with either lower back pain or knee pain would find this bike easy to use. I have both and I bought this bike as it was advertised to be easy on both issues.

I was not disappointed. I ride for about an hour at a time and I am not sore or in pain afterwards. There is no leaning over on the handlebars. You can sit up straight. The seat is wide, plush and comfortable.

It provides the needed stability for occasional bikers. There are reflectors in both front and rear and on the pedals. Itnis easy to add lights in back and front for night riding. The rear rack is super useful for carrying those needs items for beach or park.

My family loves this bike! Dismounting is easy too as the front bar is curved down allowing for step in mounting and dismounting. A big favorite for my husband. I would and have recommended this bike and this company to friends and family as the bike is well buolt ans the company super responsive to inquiries.

I absolutely love this bike! I was a little worried about getting a single speed but so glad I did. The bike was shipped to my home so I had to assemble it, adjust the brakes and chain tension, and it was good to go.

Everything on the bike works really well. The gearing on the bike is 36:18 / or the standard single speed 2 to 1 ratio, meaning for every 1 turn of the peddles the tires turns 2 times and feels so good.

There is a small half mile mountain bike trail near my home and this bike handles it way better.

Bike came in very quickly. Must faster than Amazon. No issue with Walmart. The bike contained no pedals in the box. I sent the information to Dynacraft to get pedals. I gave Dynacraft more than enough info to get pedals to me.

Finally to heck with it. I went to Walmart and purchased pedals and got my son riding. Walmart good. Dynacraft too much unneccesary red tape. I sent the model number and proof of purchase to them. Finally the $12.

00 for pedals was the easiest way to get my son going. The bike is great. Well made. Just pedals missing.

Took the bike out of the box and put it together but the brakes wouldn’t work. Drove 10 miles to the bike shop and received a call 2 hours later that ” we tried everything but the brakes will not stop rubbing.

” Between the hard uncomfortable seat, the brake issues, single-speed this is not a quality bike. Quality bikes of the type go for 900. 00-1,200. 00 on average.

I bought this bike a day ago took it for a ride today and it was amazing. The bike is light smooth and comfortable. Nishiki has made a good quality bike at a resonance price. I did a lot of research on hybrid bikes and this one was the one.

I did have to take it back for some minor adjustments. The staff was great. I drove up they took the bike in 10 mins returned to me adjusted and ready to go. I will continue shopping at dicks. Excellent customer service.

I got this bike on sale and I have been so happy with it. First, the pictures from your phone or PC screen doesn’t do the bike justice. The bike is gorgeous and looks much better in person. I got the grey model.

Here are the pros. I have been riding a mountain bike with hybrid tires. When I picked this up, I noticed a huge difference in weight. This bike is so light. When I ride it, I feel a huge difference in speed.

I dig the Shimano Acera derailers, Shimano EZ Fire shifters, Shimano cog set, etc. Very difficult to find Shimano Acera parts on a hybrid bike for the Dicks sale price I paid. The bike shifts perfectly.

It is comfortable with the grip and seat. The tires have a nice tread on them where it grips but still rolls smoothly. I have Kenda tires on my other bike and I am a fan of the brand. The brakes work nicely.

My only con is the pedals look pretty cheap compared to my other bike but the pedals work perfectly fine. I am sure they are lighter so that is good. Sometimes I have to ride on some bumpy sidewalk and the bike handles it real well and this surprised me as it doesn’t have front suspension and the tires are thin.

I highly recommend this bike. This is my first hybrid bike and I am loving it.

This is a low grade bicycle. It claimed to be Shimano equiped but only the rear derailleur is Shimano. Front derailleur and shifters are knock off brand. Bike is incredibly heavy. I had it assembled by Walmart staff.

Seat was loose, bike was rusted (apparently sat outside in rain). Front fork does not have lock out. Welds around top of forks were deeply pitted and painted over. This bike handled like it had been ridden for year and needed severe adjustment.

Major frame creeks. Headset was loose. Will not shift into large front sprocket ( gears 15 to 21). Every time I stood up to pedal, the bike would shift on its own accord. This caused my knee to hyper extend on three separate occasions.

It was so bad of a bike I rode it less than a mile and returned it to the store for a refund. You can do much better, don’t waste your time with this junk. THIS IS NOT A GOOD BIKE! DO NOT BUY!.

So I’ve had this bike for less than a month. Two and a half weeks two be exact. And I ride it to work every day. It’s 4. 3 miles one way 8. 6 miles daily. And the chain broke. I haven’t been able to find a direct replacement so I just bought a chain and used the master link in the original chain.

Other than that it’s a great starter bike. Looking to do modifications at later dates will keep posted.

For a 29″ sized tire bike it comes with a very low saddle height, had to get a extension length saddle pole from third party. Front disc break is doing a solid job. Back brake pads are a bit flimsy and small sized for the wight it has to brake.

Also, brake in the bake isn’t a too good one, but works. Frame itself is well welded aluminum, had a welder buddy of mine notice that. Bike itself is not too heavy. Unfortunately the mounting of both tires and adjustment of brakes and gear shifters is up to you.

Will have to take it to a bicycle shop to adjust them right, been experimenting with lower gears 1 to 3 forever and still have trouble shifting into them. Makes riding it in my hilly area of the city a bit rougher, maybe that’s how they speed up their eBike sales, making people want to have pedal support up hill? Anyway, decent road bike so far, but honestly, I don’t think I would take it to the trails or down to the mountain tracks, that might be kind of a backfiring idea.

Would recommend it to you, but do your own research. Was the only one left online, when I got and needed it, but it’s a good bike for road use. Builds some leg muscles too, get to it ;).

Now I’m at a stage in life where I really want to ride confidently. I have gotten on this Kent Northstar bike a few times. All I can say is , it is Super comfortable and stable specially for someone who is afraid to ride! I’m already loving it and can’t wait to hit the roads!! I have no issue with the purchasing process, it went smooth, and delivery was quick. I am disappointed in the quality of the bike. The tube on the back tire had a defect and blew apart as soon as the appropriate amount of air was put in.

No one was even near the bike when the tube blew. It also blew apart the tire. We had to replace the tube and back tire, only to discover that the rim appears to be bent. Not much we can do about that.

After the back tire issue was more or less resolved, the first ride occurred. This resulted in the chain jumping off the sprocket due to an adjustment needed to the derailer. Other than a few lapse around the driveway, there have not been additional opportunities to ride the bike, so who knows what issue will occur next.

I am expected better quality from this bike manufacturer. I don’t think I would recommend this bike to others.

Right off the bat this bike gets a wee bit tricky to assemble when you get to the brakes. Balancing the brake pads so they’re even distance from the rim both sides takes way too much fiddling around.

You’ll set them up and it rubs one side. Then over kill the adjustment, touches other side. It’s an overly complicated brake adjustment system. Designers way overthinking it. I recommend taking the brake assembly completely off because there’s no paint or lubricant on the pivot point off the forks.

Coat it with some grease. People mention the tires arrived “flat” kinda misleading, they just need inflating to correct pressure. The chain on mine was crazy tight so I adjusted the back wheel. After 15 or so miles the chain was so loose it kept jumping off the rear sprocket.

So be aware it stretches quite a bit, quite fast. Seat is a bit of a mystery. Can’t tell if I like it or not. Looks comfortable but find myself squirming around readjusting after 3-4 miles. I’m 6’2” 210lbs and overall I’m happy with it.

Definitely smooth ride and don’t feel like I’m smashing my berries on every bump like my last more expensive road bike. Once it’s all assembled correctly and dialed in it’s a great bike.

This piece of useless trash should not be considered a bicycle. The tires are so fragile my front one was tearing apart within a week of having it. The brakes do not ever adjust correctly or stay adjusted.

This along with these wheels being so terribly poorly made that you will keep stopping your ride to try to figure out what broke on the pseudo-cycle. Nothing broke, it was built this terrible and worthless.

I have written a complaint to Kent bicycles because of this assault against function and use being called a bicycle. I will never buy another bicycle from Kent Bicycles and depending on Kent’s response to my complaint, this current piece of trash will most likely be thrown in dumpster.

Really I’d give this 4. 5 stars. Design is decent enough for a single speed bike. Color scheme leaves something to be desired. I get that many will be way into the bright colors here, but it’s not actually practical.

I mean, the frame aside (as it doesn’t apply much there) yellow handlebar grips are inevitably going to get dirty from common use. Bright green and yellow tires? Even if you stick to riding on just plain roads those are definitely destined to get mega dirty in no time.

Unless you’re prepared to hose off the tires after every ride this will show dirt like crazy in no time, there’s no way to avoid it with such bright colors combined with typical dirty roads. Other than a sketchy choice for the color scheme here this is a solid choice if you’re after a single speed bike and aren’t looking for a cruiser.

And while it may be another Walmart (aka, department store) bike and so is destined to last a short while, for only about a hundred bucks it’s still worth it unless you know your hard on bikes. Get it, but don’t hold hope that it’ll last more than six months to a year.

I am a 51-year-old, 6′ 2″ and 320 pound guy and have not ridden a bike in 2 decades, so I wanted a bike that enabled me to ride in an upright position with a larger seat and wider than average tires (the skinny tires on hybrid bikes freak me out).

My purpose is to get more movement and exercise. Also key to me was to not break the bank, so $198 with free shipping was a decent price for a new bike, based on my budget. I took my first ride last night over a mainly flat area.

(I will mostly ride on flat, paved trails. no Tour de France mountains, ha!) Overall, the bike is solid, felt smooth riding and delivered the upright position I wanted. I like that the angle of the handlebars is adjustable, unlike bikes I’ve had in the past.

The seat comfort was ok, so I’m checking out bigger/wider seats online with solid reviews in the $30 – $40 range. I had to practice breaking with the pedals (versus hand brakes) as I was probably age 10 the last time I had a bike with that.

The kickstand came in handy when I stopped in a park to take a rest. Given the description said the bike is for riders 6′ and taller, the seat post was too short. I could not extend my legs enough, so with this single-gear bike it made it tougher to pedal.

(The quadriceps were burning right away! Lol) I picked up a longer seat post (350mm) for $35 from a local bike shop, and that worked great. The bike was fairly straightforward to put together given the manufacturer ships it mostly assembled.

I had to: attach the rear fender rods (super easy), attach the front fender and fender rods (easy, but at first I didn’t have the forks facing the right way, oops), attach the front tire (easy, just make sure there is no wobble after attaching), attach the bike pedals (it says to apply bike grease to the threads, but I used 3-in-1 oil I had on hand), attach the handlebars and adjust the angle to my needs, insert the seat (the seat is already attached to the post out of the box) and attach the provided water bottle cage.

I used a Philips screwdriver, adjustable wrench and hex wrenches for all of it. The manual said to use a torque wrench to apply a specific amount of torque for certain steps, but I don’t have one and didn’t want to head out to buy one.

Lastly, my 8-year-old expects that I will attach a playing card with a clothes pin so the spokes make a motorcycle sound, so that will be the only customization. Lol! Shipping took a while. I ordered on Aug.

30 with Walmart stating at the time I would receive the bike by Sept. 7. It was delivered to my house Sept. 13 via FedEx. All in all, after setup and one evening of riding I’m happy with the bike and am glad I did not spend 2 or 3 times that price for something fancier.

Of course, it’s too early to comment on durability, so will see how the bike holds up. But so far, it feels solid. Thanks and I hope these insights are useful to you! :).

I purchased my second Onex after the first was stolen. It is a good larger men’s bicycle but has some flaws. The good features are that it is proportioned for a larger man. I am 6′ 4″ and weigh 260 lbs.

I would classify myself as an avid rider and do have a decent road/gravel bike also. I like the gear ratio on this bike. I average around 14 mph on my rides. I will ride this bike when I want to get a workout in but do not want the sore back, I enjoy riding this bicycle very much.

The larger tires do well on the type 3 base rock trails. A minor flaw was the tires which I replaced with decent quality ones. I kept bending the seat post which I replaced with a 3/4″ structural steel pipe.

The last item is likely its largest flaw. I estimate riding this bike around 2000 miles total. The bearings in the back tire and pedals are deteriorating to the point where it is unsafe to ride. I will part out what I can but trash the rest of the bike.

Bought a L (6ft2) and its a great fit. I am on the way to achieving over 100km easily on a single charge using mostly level 1, and very seldom level 2/3 on steeper gradients. An average cyclist will easily keep the momentum just over 25kph on the flat sections, which means using less battery and getting far more than the advertised 75km range.

It doesn’t feel like 13. 5kg of bike and rolls really well (almost as good as my Ridley Kanzo Fast Gravel). The motor is there to assist , and I find it especially useful on the stop/starts of gravel and bridleway riding.

Sweet spot seems to be 18-23kph. Motor shuts down over 25kph and there is minimal drag when not engaged. This is not a big bulky Bosch style motor , its a gentle assist when you pedal at level 1 helping you go further with less fatigue.

Use level 2/3 for short/sharp gradients if needed. Aim to keep your ride average just over 25kph and this will give you more of a workout than any standard gravel bike. in case you are worried what your mates will say about going for an e-bike.

Great build quality and lots of mount points for luggage etc. Only change I made was better, more padded bar tape and Panaracer Gravelking SK+Tubeless setup (38″).

I looooove this bike. It’s fast. It’s fun. It doesn’t look like a giant chunky e-bike. I can keep up with my husband who is a much more serious cyclist. Unfortunately it got the dreaded pink flashing light after the third charge and would no longer turn on.

Unlucky for me since I was out on a trail in the middle of a national park when it happened. After doing everything I could via researching online, I came to the conclusion that I would have to take it in.

I got the runaround from my local REI (Lynnwood, WA), who shrugged their shoulders and suggested I call Cannondale. Cannondale confirmed the dealer (REI) had to do a firmware update to keep the battery from overcharging itself and bricking (pink flashing light).

I checked with a different REI an hour away (Bellingham, WA) and had a couple of lengthy phone calls with their techs. They were kind enough to go down the rabbit hole. They spoke to REI corporate, spoke to the battery manufacturer, ordered the cable and firmware update dongle they needed, and got my bike fixed in a couple of weeks.

I’ve got it back and it’s working great. I recommend this bike, but I don’t recommend taking delivery without getting the firmware update FIRST. Keep calling until someone is willing to help you out.

This might be a little premature as I’ve only had the bike a few days, but since this is a newer product with many reviews I wanted to share my first impressions. This bike is GREAT. I bought it to replace a commuter electric bike that failed after a few hundred miles.

With only 70 miles on this bike so far I have no way of knowing if it will withstand the daily grind. But it flies as a commuter and the short gravel trails I’ve taken it out on so far have been a blast.

Shifting took some time to get used to, but it is buttery smooth and the brakes have great stopping power. A bike like this can tempt one to ditch the car altogether. My one complaint would be that the charger is more annoying to plug in than it should be because you have to line up the prongs.

This bike is beautiful and has the right amount of engineering to retain a little old school feel despite being modern. Astonishingly light for an ebike, it literally weighs about half of my last ebike, which makes hauling it up the stairs to my office much easier.

Looking forward to taking it out on the trails this spring.

My first new bike in 20 years, so not a lot to compare it to. I have about 150 commuter miles on it now. It’s a nice weight overall, and handles well on the road. My phone app says I’m averaging 11 – 22 mph on my hilly commute.

It feels a little long on trails, but I only have a few trail miles to date. The gearing is responsive and appropriate, but you can feel the compromises on both ends – quad burning on steep grades, ‘wish I could go a little faster’ on the downhills.

The saddle is a bruiser, I’ll need to replace it. While you can feel the frame dampening a lot of the road surface, I think it really needs tubeless fills to actually be comfortable – I wish I would have had that done at purchase.

There were a few problems with fit and finish. The dropper seat wasn’t really adjusted correctly, I had to loosen the barrel until the housing slipped out before it would let the seat drop (and I weigh #180, so it’s not like I’m a light load.

). The seat stay brace fell off on one side after about 30 miles on the road – can’t say I thought to check it for tightness. If the other side would have fallen out (it was loose) it could have been a really s***show.

Now I need to find a machine screw to replace it, which will probably happen in, say, five years. I had to really fuss around to get an all mountain mud guard on the front (I’m in the puget sound, so it’s more necessity than luxury) because of the low clearance and curvature of the front stays.

The fit and finish detail on the carbon lay-up and paint is excellent. The component selection gives you white collar parts for blue collar prices. *Strengths as I see them: Full carbon frame, full carbon fork, GRX rear derailleur, shifter and hydraulic brakes, internal cables and a dropper post.

No toe overlap (w/CB Mallet 3 pedals) *Weaknesses as I see them: 1x only. Front fork thru axle nut not permanently secure in the fork leg, so it drops out immediately upon unloosening. keep your eye on it if fixing a flat in the backcountry, it’s small and easy to lose.

I’d also like the front fork legs to have three attachment points for bikepacking. I’d also like room for 700×50’s in the rear. the fork has plenty of room. *For reference, I’m 6’0″/33 inseam, so I was struggling with sizing not being able to throw my leg over the bike and test ride it and being in the range for the 56 or 59.

however, I went with the 56 and I’m fine with that choice. In hindsight, I don’t think the 59 would fit with a dropper post, because with the 56, I only have a thumb’s width of adjustability. *Overall, the Marin Headlands 2 is a worthy gravel, road, single-track bikepacking choice.

I have been riding this bike for a good few months now and I have nothing bad to say. Having had a very serious road riding accident earlier this year, I wanted to get off the road more. I ride mainly fire trails, but also road and single trail.

This bike handles all terrain really well and I have been surprised with how nimble it is on technical stuff. The dropper post comes in handy to protect the meat and potatoes. Only issue there is some wheel rub on the shoes, but that is expected when doing off road technical and tight cornering.

It is a quality build and looks great. I am a semi serious rider and enter a lot of gran fondo events on this bike I can maintain the pace of most groups. I recommended this bike. With Marin’s MTB heritage, it is built to handle off road well without too much sacrifice for the road.

If you’re like me, you’re considering a rockhopper because you want to get on the trail and full-suspension bikes are *crazy* expensive. Maybe you don’t have 2 or 3k, maybe you’re not sure if you’ll enjoy it enough to invest that much, or maybe you know very little about bikes.

So, go ahead and pull the trigger on a rockhopper. Life is short, and sometimes ya just gotta send it. It’s really a cross country bike, but if you want to get it on some more rugged terrain, a few upgrades will go a long way.

Here’s what I changed: Pedals (raceface chester) Dropper seatpost (brand x ascend) Front fork (rockshox judy silver) You can certainly have a lot of fun with this while leaving all the stock parts on.

As your skill levels change, its components will eventually hold you back. With the above upgrades, the rockhopper is closer to a $1500 bike. Worth it. Happy riding!.

I only ride multi use flat dirt path and paved paths on weekends. I don’t do jumps or anything crazy. After 6 months of learning about biking and bike tech in general, I must say that I truly regret this purchase.

The parts o here are so low quality. The Radius mechanical disc brakes are so rough and weak. I tire my arms out from pulling on them. Tried to clean the pads, adjust the gap, cable tension, but still fail.

The bottom bracket is not ratting and I fear the rear hub’s about to give out soon too. As another reviewer has pointed out, the stack is s low and forces the rider to put so much weight forward. I experienced so much wrist and joint pains until I replaced the handlebar with a high rise one.

I only realized all of these after my return window’s closed. Like I said, I was a total beginner back then. On a lighter note, the Body Geometry saddle is way better than my friends’ stock saddles on their bikes from other well-known brands.

In my opinion the Rockhopper series of hardtails is one of the most capable bikes I’ve ever ridden. I bought a redwood colored Rockhopper elite for $1,100 dollars. To me the Rockhopper elite is much better than the Rockhopper comp.

Mainly because the elite has a lot better components to offer, like the Rockshox Judy silver TK Air Fork and the tubeless ready rims and tires. For anyone who mountain bikes often almost as much as I do, going tubeless is a desired choice especially since pinchflats where quite common in my brothers Rockhopper comp that I borrowed for a few months before I got the Rockhopper elite.

But anyways I also preferred the Rockhopper more than other bikes mainly because it’s more slacker and faster than say the Trek Marlin series. But for someone who rides for fun every day year-round the Rockhopper was a Great choice for someone on a budget.

In general I like my new bike. I like it’s look and it rides well. The gearing is smooth and responsive. I have spent a lot of time trying to find the right bike. I mistakenly believed I was supporting an American company but was dismayed to see the ‘Made in China’s sticker prominently displayed and the frame.

Also the bike came with a seat clamp that didn’t clamp because the fastener was wrong. The bolt provided was cheap and easily stripped out. I didn’t call customer service because it was after 5PM PST and I wasn’t going to wait until the following Monday so I went to a local bike shop and didn’t $17 on a quick release clamp instead.

Also while there I had to purchase a front reflector because the one that came with the bike didn’t have anywhere to connect or any fastener to connect with. The illustrations in the assembly instructions showed different parts so they were no help either.

Lastly the brakes were not aligned, tuned or tightened correctly so I had to spend quite a bit of time fiddling with them. The instructions say to take it to a bike shop to make sure the brakes are correctly assembled.

So in addition to the cost of the bike, the first thing I have to do is buy parts and pay a bike tech to assemble and tune the brakes? That doesn’t seem right to me. After an inauspicious start though, I am generally pleased.

We originally purchased the 8-11 yrs size for our 9 year old and it was WAY too big. She’s around the 50th percentile in height for her age, so I have no idea what data set Retrospec is pulling from for their age sizing recommendations.

Regardless, this 6-8 yrs size works MUCH better for her (again, age 9, 50th percentile in height) and should work at least for the next 3-4 years based on the fit. The bike wasn’t too bad to put together, looks beautiful, and rides really well.

I have this unspoken hatred for bike seat clamps because they never clamp all the way to make the seat not spin even a bit sometimes, but that’s a problem with all bikes, not just this one. The turning feels a bit jittery when you just turn the handlebars, but it doesn’t affect the performance of the bike, just doesn’t feel buttery smooth.

This was the case with both sizes we got, plus the balance bike we got from Retrospec at the same time.

With gas over $5 a gallon, I was looking for a new bike. I randomly purchased a beach cruiser at Walmart at the beginning of COVID. Even with an upgraded seat and tires, it was cumbersome and uncomfortable.

While riding by my local bike shop, I happened to see they had this bike in stock. I’ve been researching already so I was excited to see it locally. I literally rode it 10 feet and was sold. I’ve had it over a month now and ride it to either the beach (5.

6 miles round trip) or my sailboat (5 miles round trip) daily. It’s incredibly comfortable and much lighter than my previous beach cruiser. The gears are great. The brakes are great. Ride it on the street.

Over gravel. Grass. Through the neighborhood. Zero issues. The overall position of how you sit is also much more comfortable. I have an annular tear in my lower spine so bike riding has been a challenge for me.

This bike has been perfect. Much more comfortable. I just wish my local shop had the electric bike to test drive. I added a large front basket, a Jimmy Buffett parrot, a coconut cup holder, back rack and basket and have just started towing my Yeti chair in the cargo cart.

Great bike with great parts. Rides great! Update 25-1-2022: Unfortunately I have a lot issue with the Neuron 6 AL: – During the second ride a suddenly lost my left crank. Luckely I didn’t hurt myself – The front disc brake seemed not to be true on arrival of the new bike.

Disc was replaced, but problem remained. Front wheel hub was inspected and seems not the be true/alligned. – Rear brake caliper is not a Deore M6120 (4 piston), but a M6000 (2 piston). On Canyon’s website (under “all parts”) both brake calipers we’re specified as M6120.

Canyon apologized for the mistake. In the end it took me a lot of time (in total more then 4 days (communicating with Canyon support, visiting local mechanic 2 times, shipping parts, etc. ). I still believe the bike design and components are great, but the assembly proces and quality checks are very poor at the moment.

I understand the current madness of the bicyle industry, but please put more effort in the assembly proces and quality checks. This will result in safer bikes and higher customer satisfaction!.

Really nice looking bike with good components an really good value for money. A big downside was the assembly. There were some bolts which were not properly tighten after inspection. Also during my first ride my crank came loose from the shaft.

After filling out a form it was repaired without extra costs, but I did expect more quality control from Canyon.
