20 Best Bikes For Short People (2023 Updated)

I really have never loved a bike more. This has completely blew my expectations away. It’s amazing quality and such a smooth ride. Definitely would recommend this to someone.

I usually never leave reviews, but I need to with this bike. Everything about this bike was so easy, the ride was so sturdy, and the brakes are AMAZING. Definitely a good bike if you are considering.

Very grateful for the easy seat adjustments. I tried this because I want to get it for my teenage son who is still growing and I wanted this to last awhile with him. It definitely is going to!

I don’t remember if the seller was Walmart, or one of the other vendors on their site. but I added whatever the default was to my cart, and it was only $98. 10 – WHAT??! I had been watching this exercise bike for a while.

I wanted a “pink” recumbent bike, then looked at whatever else met my requirements. but the features and specs were exactly what I was looking for. However, I wasn’t ready to commit to it, so I kept looking around.

leaving it in my cart. Well, since the beginning of 2020, it was about 130 dollars. but the price would go down a few bucks, then it would shoot-up 20 or 30 bucks (and stay there for a while). Then the pandemic happened, and it shot up by about $100.

00!!! SCREW THAT! Then I noticed EVERYONE raised the prices on exercise bikes, so I put-off buying one for many months. Then around late spring of 2021, it came back down to about $160. but nothing near the low it used to be around, $130.

00, so again. I kind of quit looking. Then on July 16th, came to the website, and saw there was something in my cart, and I was like. “I wonder what I left in it?” When I saw this exercise bike was marked down to $98.

10, I couldn’t believe it! I clicked on the bike, to go to the page for the listing to verify the price. and went back to the cart and bought it ASAP!! If you REALLY want this bike, but don’t need it immediately.

add it to your cart (or save it for later) and keep an eye on the price, and maybe it will get a price drop! Okay, now for the assembly and using it portion: This took under 2 hours to do (and I tend to take my time, and build things right the first time.

so you can probably do it faster. Check ALL parts before starting. If anything is missing or broken, contact “Sunny”, not Wal-Mart. I only had one issue: one of the split/lock washers was overlapping itself (that will NOT work).

I have the tools to do it, so I just bent it apart to work. I would recommend to just replace it with another one (if you have them, or go to a hardware store and buy it, or call Sunny. then wait for it).

Do it in the order I suggest, but do NOT build the bike without it. The lock washer will keep your bike from coming apart while you’re using it!! It’s a big deal! Aside from that issue, it assembled easily.

The bike is really pretty, which is why I wanted a pink one! It adjusts for short people, to people fairly tall. At the longest position, it was too far for me (I’m 5’10”), with a 32″ inseam. At the shortest position, it is fine for my mother – who I bought it for, and she is 5 feet tall.

The resistance on this bike is really good (don’t listen to the nay-sayers. theirs was probably defective)! On the lowest setting, my mother had a little trouble getting started, but she’s on the old side.

The higher settings offer really good resistance. If it isn’t, it might be defective! Been using this for 3 weeks, and it still works great!! I highly recommend it – especially if you want pink!!!.

Beautiful – easy to use! Sunny Corporation was wonderful also. The computer did not work and they shipped out a replacement which we got a few days later. It works and we love it. After a broken bone just below the hip where my LEG SWIRLED AROUND THE BONE (my surgeon said very rare happening) and then a second surgery AFTER the first one was yanked by an emergency room intern/doctor and pulled the flesh away from where it had began to adhere, I was told it would be over a year before I would be able to walk.

It has been 2 months past the year time line and my muscles atrophied. The sunny bike is just what I need where I can step into it and not have to lift either leg over a woman’s type bike (which I could NOT do).

I love my Sunny and use it every other day. Which the doctor told me should be what I should do. And the clearance price from Walmart WAS AN ENORMOUS PERK!.

I love this bike. It’s well designed, comfortable, very quiet, very reasonably priced, cute inviting color, allows shorter people to adjust it for comfort (my main complaint with my previous recumbent bike) and doesn’t take too much space.

It does the job. However, the reasons I gave it four instead of five stars are: 1) The instructions could have been much clearer at points. For example, in step 2, instead of “Connect Sensor wire a (9) with Sensor wire c (12).

Then connect Sensor wire b (10) with Sensor wire d (14),” they could simply indicate that the wire with 2 slots goes with the other wire with 2 slots and the one with 3 slots goes with the one with 3 slots.

This would have been much less confusing. Also, the foot pedal straps could’ve been attached on one side of each pedal. Putting them on was extremely difficult and unclear which way they go without looking at the bike online amplified.

Finally, the front stabilizer (17) and the rear stabilizer (27) are of different lengths. But in the photo in the instruction manual and online, you don’t know (and they are not marked) which is which.

I ended up putting the longer one in front and the shorter one in the rear, but until now I don’t know if this is really how they go. Simple stuff like these just waste a lot of time and could’ve been much simpler and less time consuming if handled better.

2) I agree with the reviewers both here and on Amazon. com that the measurements the computer gives you are pretty much worthless. What I do is just put the mode on “Speed” and watch my speed to make sure I don’t slack.

From the calories burned you get online for your height and weight, I average the calories for the moderate and vigorous workouts (and from my previous recumbent bike (whose computer was much more accurate than this one’s) I had the same number of calories per minute I get from this average) and I multiply the number of minutes by the calories per minute and get the total calories burned.

I also disconnected the sensor wire from the handle pulse wire because I don’t need that. All I go with is the speed. 3) Although I admire very much the way the bike was packed tightly in the box to make it secure and not vulnerable to be hit or bent, this made it very hard to take the parts out of the box.

I even read in one review that the reviewer hit himself/herself with a part trying to take it out of the box. I just had to break these white foam boxes to pieces to be able to get the parts out without hurting myself.

All that said, I’m an almost 61-year old female, and I assembled the bike by myself in two hours. So, it wasn’t too bad, but could’ve been shorter if the above remarks had been considered.

First, it’s neither a bicycle nor an elliptical. It has bicycle-style pedal cranks, but with very short stems, as well as full shoe size (I wear men’s size 13) pedal platforms. What all that means is that my knees don’t come up high enough to hit the desk, and I can position the device much further from my body, so the pedaling position is much more like a recumbent bike than a stand-up elliptical trainer.

It has a reasonable range of resistances; you wouldn’t try an intensive workout on it, but rather pedal continuously while using your computer to burn calories slowly but consistently over an extended period.

Effectively keeps my lower extremity blood circulation from stagnating as I sit. I haven’t connected the readout meter, since that’s of no value to me. If I wanted to see its output, I certainly wouldn’t mount it under my desk; rather, I’d experiment with using its cable to mount it where I could see it while pedaling.

Unexpectedly, it’s a superb ankle workout. I found this machine a pleasure to use, without (after almost 3 weeks of use) any of the problems others have reported. I don’t yet see anything that I think will wear out or go wrong.

This bike was delivered to me this past Thursday, today being Tuesday. I’ve already put nearly 80 miles on it and thus far have had no issues. It was easy to assemble, directions were easy enough to follow with the pictures, and came with all the tools necessary for assembly.

I purchased to help lose some of my baby weight and a lot of standing exercise makes me dizzy for some reason. I love the resistance settings. I usually put it on 5 for my legs and 3 for my arms. Obviously since it’s so portable, it jumps all over the place when in use, especially on carpet.

I put a 20 and a 15 pound dumbbell in front of it and that completely eliminated the problem. I sit on a kitchen chair when using it for my legs and sit on the floor with it propped on a pillow on my lap for my arms.

One of my favorite features is that the paddles go both forward and backward. I highly doubt the calorie count is accurate, but that’s not a big deal for me. I usually just watch the time and the miles.

I also like that it has the odometer for the lifetime miles, but if you press and hold the button it resets all of the other information for each ride. I use it several times throughout the day as my baby girl allows, so I like to look at the information at the end of the day to see my totals and then I reset it.

I purchased this product to help me exercise throughout this pandemic norms. I usually bike outside but ever since the first baby was born, i do not have enough time for that anymore. I guess I really have time for it, but I’d rather spend that time with the baby.

This under desk cycle however made it possible for me to do what I love and still be at home, and also while working long hours on the desk. Just 30 mins spinning and I start sweating. I have the tension steady at 6 and i think that is what i feel on the bike on flat roads without wind.

I usually ride the bike around 2 hours every other day on weekdays and 4-5 hours on weekends but with this, this can cover all the time i like and still do yard work after work hours. After 100 miles on the odometer as displayed on the counter, this thing started squeaking intermittently.

It is definitely noticeable since my home office is really silent when I am alone. It has something to do with the belt or the bearings but I am mechanically inclined to do maintenance on this unit hence the 5 start.

I will recommend this to whoever has the same situation as me.

Greetings. I have just installed a $330. pair of MAVIC wheels on my Harper Plus, this bike has something that even a $1000. bike does not, Stability with Performance. I’ll explain, when we go for stability we often give up Performance.

When we go for Performance we generally lose some Stabity. The Retrospec Harper Plus climbs well and depends like no other bike at any price. It has the old European Tour de France qualities. There is no other bike like it at anywhere near the cost.

The bike is a blank canvas for you to create upon, make it what you wish. Far better than the standard Harper and I would rather use it than my Fuji Feather due to how safe it depends Steep hills at 40 MPH!.

Excellent service from Sigma. Arrived on the date stated at purchase. Included free set of Allen keys and torque keys which work very well (4,5 and 6Nm). Gears needed a little tuning but nothing significant.

Bike itself is very comfy but also light and climbs well. Has a surprisingly tall headtube and lots of spacers included. Means you’ll probably have to cut down the steerer to get the fit you need – not a difficult job with the right blade and a guide (I got the Park Tools blade and cutting guide – both great quality but pricey).

Stock tyres do the job but are nothing special. Very easy upgrade, as is the cassette if you want to change out the 105 for a full ultegra setup. Really like the handlebar and stem – you are tied to cannnondale handlebars if you use the system integration stem that comes with the bike, and vice versa, but there is a lot to like about both.

Stem is very stiff and robust, no flex even when sprinting that I noticed and the handlebar has a nice wide top which I found comfy on longer rides. Drop is not huge and the curve of the drops are quite traditional, both of which I found suited my riding style well.

I really like the included bar tape; it’s not too thick and has a crosshatched grip which works very well in all weathers. Only downside is a very creaky seat post at the recommended torque. When pushing hard uphill it is particularly noticeable.

Doesn’t affect the quality of the ride but is irritating.

I bought this bike after originally swapping me BMC road machine for a an Aero bike. I quickly realised that out and out aero wasn’t for me. This bike is the best of both worlds. Great aero properties, with nimble and precise handling.

The feedback is good without being harsh, and the power transfer from the peddles to the back wheel is brilliant. I wasn’t sure on the aesthetics but the pictures don’t do the bike justice. This is a beautiful looking machine.

Sigma again we’re a pleasure to deal with. There was a delay in delivery due to some components not being available. Sigma kept me informed every step of the way, and even offered a refund. All in all, it’s a great bike purchased from a great company.

I’ve had this for bike for 2 months and put 1000 miles on it and I can genuinely say I’ve fallen more and more in love with it after each ride. It looks stunning. It’s nowhere near as light as my previous Giant TCR, but it’s not heavy either, 8.

6kg with pedals. It absolutely flies and rides amazingly, so much compfier than my TCR. I’ve come down from ultegra to 105 but I can barely tell the difference. I’ll get some use out of the stock wheels which aren’t bad and they look quite good, but maybe in 12 months I’ll upgrade.

A pair of hunt or ceros for less than 500 quid would get this bike down to around 8kg for a bike under 3k with disc brakes is pretty good. Live in lake district with brutal climbs everywhere and havnt had an issue with the semi compact 52/36, 11-30 set up but some might.

I got the Willow 3 speed to replace my aging daily bike, which was a 10 year old hybrid. I live in an area with very mild and short hills, so I figured 3 speeds should be enough. They are, but I wish gear inches were included in the specs sheet.

For anything like groceries (two panniers) or pulling a Burley kid trailer, it’s been great. A few observations: – I’m a 5’9 male, the large frame fits well. Handling is very smooth and stable, both at low and high speed, with and without rear weight, really liking how this bike rides.

Looking back, of course it’s more comfortable to ride on a step through frame and to have a kick stand. – I replaced the rear rack with something more sturdy, the one that came with the bike is fine for lighter weights but I regularly carry 20 lb of groceries in two panniers.

Super easy to swap the rear rack. The fenders seem to work just fine. The saddle it comes with is fine, but I upgraded to a Brooks B67 that I had from before, and it really suits the bike both functionally and in style – Wondering why it comes with caliper brakes instead of V-brakes, but they work well enough – Not specific to the Willow, but very large panniers may interfere with the “bell crank”, the piece that sticks out on the right side of the rear hub to shift gears.

This is the first new bike I have owned in 30 years. I have always had used bikes because new ones don’t last long in NYC. It is light and uncomplicated making it easy to carry up the stairs and into my destinations.

Because it is stylish and classic nobody minds. Once I’ve had it a few years and it has garnered an urban patina then I will lock it on the streets. But not overnight. Never overnight. It’s fast. The protected bike infrastructure in NYC has improved.

I use it to travel much further than I ever did before. I often go weeks without using the subway. (Which continues to get worse, not to mention that one can catch a deadly disease). It is well constructed.

It is dependable. I smile whenever I see it. My Bedford bike is my new friend. I highly recommend it.

Let me start by saying REI was wonderful in taking care of us during this experience. I test rode the step through, the new version, as well as this step over. I ultimately decided to purchase the step over.

We went on a 29 mile ride. After 1 hill during the first mile, the pedal assist gave out. It gave out for 10 miles. Eventually we were able to get the pedal assist to work; HOWEVER, it “died” about 15 times for me.

I switched bikes with my boyfriend (he has the co-op 1. 1 electric and it works flawlessly) and he counted the pedal assist failing 27 times, approx 1-2 times per mile for the 14. 5 mile ride home. We’re in our late 30s, in great shape, and ride our manual bikes regularly….

luckily, he was able to pedal up the hills necessary to get us home. This bike is heavy, which is expected as it is a beach cruiser + the battery weight, etc. I will say that it is very comfortable to ride, I love the flat foot technology, but its awkward to stand and ride to get up hills.

I owned this bike for less than 1 day before returning. REI was very understanding and gave a full refund.

Purchased my 2nd Sinch in March 2022. This time it was the Red step through. Previous purchase was the 2021 step over. Wow! Where do I start? The step over model was the most fun I have had on a bike in the last 30 years.

until I bought the step through. Everything is just a little better. The frame geometry is even more comfortable, the tires quiet and cushy, the handling responsive, the gearing and brakes smooth and quiet, folding is easy, battery removal easy, and obviously getting off and on is easy with the step through frame.

Construction of the previous model was great, the construction and attention to detail on the new step through is over the top. The pedal assist has been tuned to make the take off smoother, and I have over all better control of my peddle assist levels, and shifting.

Put over 900 miles on the step over. Already have 50 on the step through. Have thoroughly ridden and tested both models. I am 5’11” and 290lb and this bike performs great. Not just on flat ground, but on hills as well.

The upright riding position allows me to see all around me and even easily glance up to see the occasional eagle or hawk. I love riding this bike, and really look forward to every opportunity to get on it.

First off – LOVE everything about this bike. It’s my first ebike. I researched forever and am so happy with my choice. It feels great, runs smoothly, and it’s good looking. I got a lot of compliments as soon as my first time out.

Now, the reasons I can’t go to five stars: 1. For the money, I would expect to have some accessories included. BUT, with the $200 accessories included, not THAT big of a deal. 2. Much harder to fold and unfold than I expected.

The hinge is really tight. 3. MOST IMPORTANTLY – on my first ride, a little more than halfway through, my screen froze up and the control module wouldn’t work. I was stuck in pedal assist 2 and nothing was changing or recording on screen.

I couldn’t even turn it off. Ultimately, I unhinged the bike to break connection with the battery and started it back up – then everything was fine. I hope to not have a major issue with the control module.

It was concerning. Hoping it was a fluke, but would love to know if this has been an issue with the Sinches? Either way, I would highly recommend this bike to anyone!.

Overall I really like the bike and am glad I made the purchase. It’s well built, looks good and rides good. The battery life seems excellent so far. Here are some things I think can be improved: 1. I didn’t like the hand grips.

they were too stiff/harsh/sandpaperish for me, so I replaced them. 2. When shifting, lots of times it doesn’t switch to the gear or is half way in bewteen so I have to push the shifter again or halfway push it to get into gear.

I suspect this will be easily fixed when I take it in for the initial tune up. 3. The rear brakes squeek A LOT. Also hoping this will be an easy fix when I take it in for a tune up. 4. The other issues are minor, this is a big one and only Aventon can do this — I wish instead of 5 assist levels, there were 10.

Most of the time I only need up to level 2 PAS. But usually I would really like something in between zero, 1 and 2. More granular control over the assistance. There is quite a bit of power difference between 1 and 2 so if there were 10 levels, 1 would be 2 and 2 would be 4, so I could use 3, which would be in between what is now 1 and 2.

I keep getting emails from ER asking me about my opinion, so here it goes: The Seeker X16 is of exceptional quality. This is a high-end bike, no doubt about it it. Then why a 2-star rating. It’s simple: the gain ratio is way too high (in my opinion).

My somewhat lightweight 4-year old out-grew his Woom 2. As soon as we started moving to real (easy) trails as opposed to the neighborhood park, I realized that a bike upgrade was necessary. The Seeker X16 seemed like a great option, considering it is almost as light as a Woom 3, but has bigger tires (my main criticism of the Wooms are the narrow tires) and disc brakes.

We received the bike a few weeks ago and I was immediately in awe by the quality of the bike. Due to inclement weather (wind and snow. ), it took until today before we were able to test it on the trails.

Outside of town we have rolling hills with a good amount of short ups and downs, but nothing steep on the easy trails. I had noticed on rides around the neighborhood that the bike was harder to pedal than his Woom 2 but had hoped he would be fine.

Right away I could see him struggling going up an almost unnoticeable incline and within one minute of biking, he stopped and started crying, saying he couldn’t move the bike. I had to use the TowWhee where before he was perfectly able to ride his Woom 2.

Yes, it is my fault that I hadn’t paid enough attention to this before ordering the bike. But a bike aimed at 4 and 5 year olds should not be this hard to pedal if you actually want to use it outside of flat terrain, pump tracks, or mostly downhill-oriented trails.

For a bike aimed at this age range, being able to pedal uphill is, in my opinion, much more important than being able to still pedal going 20 miles an hour downhill… No other comparable bike (as far as I am aware) has this high of a gain ratio.

I had decided against a Prevelo Zulu Two because of the high weight of the bike, but I guess it might still be easier to pedal uphill because it has a gain ratio more similar to a Woom 3. Needless to say, I am more than a little disappointed since at this point it’s almost unusable for him on the trails we have around here.

And he doesn’t need a bike like this to just bike on flat dirt roads or around the neighborhood. Oh, and I just remembered, the rear wheel is wobbling straight out of the box, still need to fix that.

So happy we got this bike for our daughter. For a long time she had been struggling with her 12 inch entry level kids bike, and was quite frustrated over the weight and geometry of that bike. We tried everything from a walking stick mounted on the stem of the saddle, to training wheels.

So after reading a lot of reviews about the ER bikes, we finally took the plunge and splashed out on a Seeker 16. We considered the Belter 16 at first, but we went the extra mile and payed the higher price to get the tires and pedals of the Seeker.

The bike is smooth even on flat pavement but its strength comes when riding on dirt/off-road. The tires also adds some extra “suspension” making the ride less bumpy. The package arrived after a couple of days after ordering it online from ER Co (Belgium).

Assembling the bike was quite easy. The only adjustment I had to make additionally was to correct the alignment of the fork holding the handle bar in order to make the front wheel run straight. On her first try, our daughter immediately got the hang of striding by pushing the bike using only her feet.

Then, a few moments later, she started pedaling effortlessly! There were absolutely no issues with handling the bike and she really benefited from its light weight and solid build. The pure joy she expressed during her first ride was worth every penny for this bike.

And after a couple of miles on the bike she clearly got exhausted so I just took the bike in one hand and my daughter on the other hand, and we started to walk home. Once again, the light weight of this bike makes it really easy for me as a parent to carry it along.

I’m really excited about taking our daughter and her new bike for more rides.

Awesome little bike! Build quality is really good, not perfect though. Ours had a few blemishes and the pulleys have very sharp edges. Easily fixed with a file but should be chamfered from the get go.

Crank rotation was fairly stiff out of the box but has loosened up with use now. Controls and function seems perfect for kids. Really like how light it is. Our 3 1/2 year old lifts it up by himself to move it around.

He is pedaling like a champ after only a couple tries. He has been abusing his strider since he was 15 months old but we couldn’t get him interested in pedaling. We started him off on this with the pedals on and he wasn’t really interested either.

I took the pedals back off, lowered the seat and let him use it like a strider and he absolutely loved it and he quickly became proficient on the brakes. After some coaxing, pedals went back on and he got the hang of it in no time and is zooming around like he’s been doing it for ever.

It seems a ridiculous amount of money for a kids bike, but there are certainly worse things one could spend their money on and the components are nice quality and it’s a well made product. We have three boys, two who will get use of this bike so that helps justify the cost to me.

My only regret is not having found this company when our oldest was younger as he would have really enjoyed this bike too.

This is a great value in a basic indoor cycling bike. The heavy steel frame is extremely durable and all of the joints are fully welded, not tack welded like some lesser quality brands. The bike comes well packaged and the parts protected, the smaller parts bagged.

Assembly was incredibly easy and only took about 15 minutes total. The provided tool allows you to assemble the bike without the need of any other tools of your own. Thanks to the wheels on the front support bar, lifting this up and rolling it around is an absolute breeze.

The seat and handlebars are both fully adjustable up and down as well as forward and back, not to mention the seat pivots and locks securely in place. This indoor cycle fits my 5’6″ frame fine and can easily adjust to fit those well over 6′ without any problems at all.

The 40 pound flywheel provides a smooth and consistent resistance that is easily adjusted on the go with just the turn of a knob that also doubles as a brake, and the brake will definitely stop the rotation in a hurry; I was a bit surprised at just how smoothly and quickly the brake works.

Even the water bottle holder is heavy coated wire that is very durable and held to the frame very securely with two strong bolts. No cheap plastic cup holder. I think that actually impressed me more than anything.

It’s the small details like that, that help leave an overall great impression of the machine as a whole.

I decided to opt out of monitors and gadgets and just go for a basic bike. I taught spin classes for over a decade and always liked the chain bike, so included them in my research and ultimately landed on this.

Wow, what a solid ride. This bike is not only sturdy, it allows us to adjust it to perfection (four way adjustable seat and handlebars)! The ride is super smooth and the resistance is fierce. YES to super challenging jogs and hills.

I was a bit worried that the chain bike might be loud, but it’s not at all. Just the quiet whirring of movement that’s drowned out by my focus, music, and an online class if that’s your thing.

On assembly I Noticed right away of misalignment of handle bars (could be the front neck) and seat post. Poor alignment before welding is the cause. Maybe no jig used or bad jig if used. Was working fine to start.

After 2 weeks belt drive started getting a little louder for some reason. Than belt locked up and could not pedal. Took belt guard off to expose belt and found belt chewed up on outer edge and locked up on one of the pulleys.

All this due to bad alignment as mentioned. Only fix was to align front weighted wheel to rear pulley to get drive belt to align properly on pulleys. Put it back to gather with correct belt tension and Now working perfect for a misaligned Asuna 5100 which will never be right but will work the way it should.

I wanted to save the huge hassle of warranty return and end up with the same problem so repaired it my self and also just ordered a replacement belt for the future. I should have taken pictures and did not even think about it as I was so bummed out on the problem.

I really like the Asuna 5100, but not sure I can recommend it if all have same problem as my does.
