Bike racks for minivans are a great way to transport your bikes with you on family trips or vacations. They typically attach to the back of the van and can hold two or more bikes. This is a great way to get your bikes to your destination without having to put them inside the van, which can save space and keep them from getting damaged.
Grab your bikes, put them on the back of your vehicle and go with Thule’s passage rear rack. It’s that easy because Thule’s innovative fit dial easily attaches the Passage to most vehicles and the 6 straps securely hold it in place (straps not shown), while Thule’s rubber anti-sway cradles keep your bikes from swaying into each other.
You’ll also love that the rack arms fold making it super easy to store this rack when it’s not in use.
I’ve been very happy with the Passage 2 rack. It’s easy to attach to the car, its secure, and I can raise the hatch with the rack on. It’s a little tight with two bikes, but I’ve been able to make it work just fine.
The rubber bike straps are easy to use, and the nylon strap easily makes it through all the wheels on two bikes. A great rack for the price.
The Allen Sports MT-2 Folding Two-Bike Carrier is the ultimate commuter solution to take your bicycle with you when traveling. It fits a wide range of vehicles including SUVs, hatchbacks, minivans and sedans.
Individual tie-down cradles secure and protect your bicycle. This car bike carrier features a durable, powder-coated black finish and will fit on your vehicle in an unobtrusive way. Co-molded upper and lower pads fully protect your vehicle’s finish.
When not in use the MT-2 folds down to a size smaller than a shoebox and can be conveniently stored using the included carry bag. The ultra-compact design is one of the smallest available on the market.
This Allen Sports MT-2 Folding Two-Bike Carrier has a padded lower frame that protects the vehicle from scratches and damage.
I have a 09 Toyota Camry I purchased two Allen bike racks this one was 59. 00. It has as little bit to much going on for me. You really have to have some strength to adjust this rack. It’s compact but after all the work we did to get it on it didn’t fit right.
So we tried the Allen sports deluxe model 102DN which was cheaper 39. 93 it was a breeze to put on I wish I had started with this one it was on less then 5 mins fits Perfect. Save yourself some time and money try this one first.
I’ve seen a lot of people bash this rack here and on that other site that begins with an A and ends with a zon :-). People need to consider what a product is and what is intended for before ordering and have it not live up to their expectations.
This an inexpensive COMPACT bike rack. And while some people have reported good results on longer trips, I would NEVER expect to use a rack like this to transport my bike from Maine to Oregon. What this rack is perfect for is to keep in your trunk for emergencies and short trips at local road speeds.
I’m an avid cyclist. I have a heavy duty Swagman rack that goes in the hitch receiver of my SUV if I’m taking my bike on long trip. This rack folds up to about the size of a shoe box. It is perfect for leaving in my wife’s car for emergencies or those occasions when she has driven some where and I have ridden to meet her but want to leave together by car.
Not good. Did not fit my Chevy Trax well, even though it was listed to. The straps did not pull tight enough for my comfort. When my son and I lifted my bicycle onto it, it just didn’t have large enough support brackets for my retro style Schwinn! We tried for 20 minutes, this way and that, to get my bike onto this thing.
It just has too high of a center of gravity and not enough support. The bike flexed back and forth and was not supported AT ALL. Not to mention, there was NO ROOM for a second bike!!!! Did I mention I ordered this from 3 WalMarts before I found one in stock? VERY DISAPPOINTED! Returned.
Using the Express 2 bicycle rack from Hollywood Racks, transporting your bikes becomes easier than ever. The rack attaches to the trunk of your car and is designed to carry up to two bicycles. Easy-to-use adjustment hubs and four attachment straps ensure a secure fit, while an integrated tie-down strap offers extra security.
Soft rubber cradles help protect the finish of your bikes. The Express 2 is made to fit most vehicles and folds flat for easy storage. SpecificationsSpace between bike cradles – 7 in. Distance between bike support arms – 15 in.
Padded lower frame keeps bicycles away from vehicle. Patented sure strap lower strap keeps bottom hook in place during use. Comes fully assembled – installs in seconds. Black powder coated finish.
Picked this up from my local Walmart yesterday and used first time today. Fortunately, it met my expectations! Great little rack! For the price it cant be beat – nice quality, easy to install and take off, rides secure on my BMW 3 series, and stores easily in my trunk.
Issues are minor: 1) The metal clips have no padding so its metal on metal as clipped to my trunk lid – didnt hurt, did not scratch my paint, but I will add a thin adhesive rubber strip to the inside of the clips just so I feel better.
2) The bottom bracket bar will likely rest against your license plate – not a problem unless you are super sensitive about your plate or perhaps some peace officer calling you out (I doubt it). 3) There is no assembly but you will need to slip two ends of the support arms into a hole on the bike-mount arms – simple and its only for the initial set up, but it does require some hand strength and care that you keep your fingers clear when they snap in place.
for reference i drive a 2013 prius C. assembly was a little confusing but the allen website has good videos for assembly/once you set it up its easy to do again. the pins were very hard to put into place though but im satisfied because they seem sturdy.
one qualm with this is the metal attachments possibly harming the metal of my car. i have decided to fit pieces of sheet rubber (to size) on all the metal attachments so theres some padding in between the car and the rack.
hopefully this damages the car less, although i dont plan on having the bike rack attached to my car 24/7. when driving my bike one of the tires jiggled so i also decided to attach bungee cords along with it for extra security.
all in all, this is a decent bike rack, especially for the price, but it DOES need adjustments and extra security that can be easily achieved with some innovation.
Installed on 2008 Honda Civic. This bike rack is good for the price. HOWEVER. you need to buy extra straps to secure your bike(s) properly. The installation instructions are not very good, and the company videos on YouTube are not that great either.
For help with instructions, look at regular YouTube videos of real people using the product. This help me get it installed. Installing is fairly easy to do, but if you have never used a bike rack you may need some help like I did.
All in all, this bike rack will get you by. Be sure to check out the company website for your vehicle compatibility before you buy or simply Google for more information. There are much better racks out there, but probably not at this price point.
YAKIMA, FullBack Premium Trunk Strap Bike Rack for Cars, SUVs and More, 3 Bike – A fresher take on the classic strap rack, the FullBack 3 is a premium trunk rack that provides a safe way to carry bikes.
It’s compact for easy storage when you’re not using it and comes with a high-gloss finish. The SuperCush ZipStrips make loading and unloading a breeze, and a full SKS locking system provides additional safety.
The modern design looks great on your vehicle and the cushy padding protects your paint. Last but not least, there’s a built-in bottle opener for a post-ride cold one. Cheers.
the good – easy to install and the folding arms when not in use is great. The bad – there is no way they you can get three bikes on the fullback three without damaging them. The positions on the folding arm are way too close together.
You have to jockey handlebars and wheels and most importantly, gears and derailers are in danger of being damaged on a drive. Using the 1st and third positions, I could get two bikes on safely and without damaging the bikes.
The other bad thing is the design to get the U shaped clamp onto the bike frame of the seat post is a knuckle breaker. Difficult to get on and almost impossible to get off! Very poor design as far as convenience is concerned.
The 4-Bike Standard Rack from Swagman transports up to four bikes behind your RV or motor home on a 2-inch receiver hitch. Built solid for years of use, the rack features a swedge design to facilitate quick and easy assembly and disassembly.
Soft Kraton cushions protect your bike and provide additional gripping power while the flexible top plate is able to accommodate different top tube sizes. The rack offers a generous weight capacity of 35 pounds per bike.
The Standard Rack features soft Kraton cushions to protect and grip the bikes securely.
I bought this for the back of my subaru because i didnt want to buy a really expensive rack but didnt want those cheap thin gauge tubular steel bike racks that collapse with more than 1. 5 bikes on them.
This thing is rock solid. Ive put 1 adult and 2 older childrens mountain bikes on this at the same time and feel confident it will not crumple on the first hard bump like some other inexpensive racks.
It has a anti rattle hitch bolt that screws into the rack and works very well. Sadly it has no security features, so i may end up drilling another hole for a locking bolt. There is also no security up top, but found i was able to route a sturdy bike cable around everything to make it secure.
The knob and plate design works pretty well for bigger than normal and oddly shaped cross bars and holds bikes well. This rack does not fold down like some others but i didnt need it to personally. For anyone interested though I am not able to open the rear hatch on my subaru forester.
This is a strong recommendation from me if you can live without certain features.
This is the first bike rack that attaches to a hitch that I have bought. I have owned several that just attach to the back with straps and hooks, but those are a pain for more than two bikes. I wanted to be able to haul all four bikes easily on the back of our CRV.
This does that easily. I read some reviews that said you could get only 3 bikes on, but we got all four on easily. Three are adult bikes and one is for my 13 year old, so not a kid’s bike. My daughter’s bike is one of the large Cruiser bikes.
All four fit and have stayed steady on our trips to the bike trails we like. You do have to buy the cross bar adapters for bikes without the bar, and I recommend purchasing the locking bolt to attach the rack to your hitch.
Even with these extras, the price is still more reasonable than many and works great.
I bought this for my RV trip and I was not disappointed. I easily assembled it with the few screws and bolts. It also easily attached the RV hitch in a minute. Very secure and then I took it on a trip (1,700 miles in total over 9 days) and was impressed with how secure the bikes (used it for 4 bikes) stayed on and did not bang against the RV once.
I made sure to bring the 3 hex nut pliers and re-tightened them once. ( only one screw was a half turn from being completely tight. ) I don’t ever write reviews, maybe 2 or 3 ever, and this was worth the money! Make sure to also bring a good bike lock to lock the bikes together at night.
Yakima HalfBack 3 Bike Rack – The Yakima HalfBack 3 bike rack is designed for riders who like to grab their bikes and go. It hits the sweet spot where functionality, durability, simplicity and good looks come together.
Installation is simple, loading and unloading is a piece of cake, and bikes ride securely.
Very solid, very heavy. Fit our 2021 Mazda CX 30 perfectly. No problems transporting bikes over semi-tough terrain. Box states 2x SKS keys included, but they were not included. Not sure what they were for.
Overall, very satisfied with purchase and shipping (although there was a big tear/hole on side of box- no damage). Would highly recommend!.
The Yakima Halfback is perfect for my needs! I feel extremely confidant driving with unsayable don my 2014 Ford Escape with 2 heavy bikes. I no longer have to drive “white knuckled” on the highway or continually looking out the rear view mirror.
I would highly recommend as I feel it is well worth the money. Great price from Jenson too, they beat every other online retailer price and shipping was the lowest at $10!!.
Gather your friends and head out on a cycling adventure with the Yakima DoubleDown 4 Bike Rack. It’ll hold up to four bikes with SwitchBlade anti-sway cradles that keep everything securely in place and eliminate any worries about bikes bumping and scratching along the way.
The DoubleDown folds down so you can access the back of your vehicle and add a last minute cooler of tasty beverages or an extra bag of cookies for the road. No more trying to fit a cooler over the headrests in the back seat.
When you’re done carrying bikes, the support bars fold down and out of the way until you need them for your next adventure.
This rack is study and secure. As others have stated I don’t know if it will take four bikes though. Once installed you have to leave it on your car as it’s not easily removed. The disadvantage of this is, the back up camera thinks there’s an obstacle, and all sorts of bells and whistles go off.
I’ve used this several times already. It is a solid well made bike rack. Holds bikes securely and installation was simple. Fits the hitch securely- no rattles. I would recommend the Yakima dead lock as a necessary add on.
Durable and versatile, non-folding 3-bike carrier features Swagman’s unique Kraton gripper cradle surface to hold bikes securely in place. Generous spacing between the large V cradles allows for easy loading and ample distance separating the bikes during transportation.
Perfect for me, It will NOT hold three bikes as advertised, but that is to be expected. That is the only reason I gave in a four instead of a five. The clamp system is great, no worries on losing a bike.
This rack is solid and HEAVY. Found that by using wood shims you can stop most of the bounce you encounter from excess play found when mounted in the trailer hitch. All in all this is a very good rack and I would recommend to a friend to purchase.
I am really happy i bought this rack. It was super easy to put together. It is sturdy and on the heavy side but i can handle it! I am a woman 5’2″. Fits easily in my 2″ receiver hitch. There is no way to lock the rack to the hitch, you have to use their hitch pin provided and there is no hole for a lock.
You can buy a swagman locking hitch pin on amazon. I may do that next. HAPPY BIKING! Carol.
Designed to fit most sedans, hatchbacks, minivans and SUVs, the Allen 104D Deluxe 4 Bike Trunk Mount Rack offers an easy to use and versatile option for transporting bicycles while on the road. It features a patented tie down system, which individually secures and protects each bicycle.
Its 22 inch long carry arms can accommodate up to four bicycles and can be released with a single pop up pin when not in use for easier storage. The racks streamlined, single configuration design eases installation and requires only minor assembly.
The rack also incorporates an extra long receiver post, designed to get around most externally mounted spare tires. It is finished with a rugged UV resistant polyester powder coating, ensuring both durability and a sleek, attractive look.
Its easy to install if you watch a video on youtube. Instruction is confusing. I tried to mount a Giant Escape 2 and Liv Alight 2 on the the two inner mounting bracket, but it would not fit. The distance between the mounting bracket is too small.
So I had to put one of the bike on the outer mounting bracket. There is no way you can fit 3 adult bikes. 2 adult and a kid maybe. I rode ~20 miles highway with 2 bikes mounted on it. When U reached my destination, the straps gotten slightly loose.
Make sure to tighten the straps and wrap the excess straps tightly around the bike or something. I would say this bike rack is okay for short distances (may be 10 miles or so) on the city roads, but I would use this on a highway or freeway.
This hitch-mounted, platform-style bike rack allows you to carry 2 bikes of almost any frame style or length. The bike carrier has adjustable hooks that hold your bikes securely in place and sliding wheel hoops to accommodate most bike lengths.
The Q-Slot upright arm features a pair of adjustable hooks controlled by hand knobs. The independently adjustable hooks move up and down the support arm, allowing you to carry 2 bikes of unique sizes simultaneously.
The hooks also have soft padding to protect your bike’s paint finish. The bike carrier features large wheel hoops that slide along the side tubes to accommodate bikes of almost any length. The wheel hoops are controlled by hand knobs and include Velcro straps to secure your bike wheels in place during travel.
All three of the rack arms – the side tubes and the upright mast – are held in place by bail pins. Removing the pins allows the arms to be folded up or down for convenient storage and access to your vehicle’s rear cargo area.
The Q-Slot includes a nylon sleeve adapter that snaps into place over the 1-1/4″ square shank to convert it for use with 2″ square hitches. A 1/2″ threaded hitch pin is included for use to secure the rack to your hitch.
Overall a pretty good rack but had to drill and add stainless bolts in place of the lock pin on main frame to eliminate considerably sway and movement when installed. Also replaced the plastic 2”x1 1/4” reducer as it is of poor quality and all build out is on one side.
Now I have to find a better alternative to the foam sleeves on the hold downs as they wore holes through them in the first two days on the road putting frame abrasions on one of the bikes. With those three changes you would have a pretty decent rack.
(Also instead of saying it fits any 2” receiver hitch be honest and tell your customers that it’s a 1 1/4” hitch with plastic reducer included.
I have a 98 Grand Cherokee with a 2inch hitch. My wife and I wanted a bike rack that was inexpensive and easy to use. This fit the bill quite well. Putting bikes on and taking them off couldn’t be simpler.
Those other bike racks that utilize straps and hang off a car’s trunk are a major pain in the ass. The rack is sturdy enough for two bikes, but because it’s a collapsible design, some of the rigidity was sacrificed for convenience.
I was very pleased with the quality of the bike carrier along with the ease of use and the adjustable base. I have a 29er and was worried that the adjustable base wouldn’t spread far enough apart to fit my bike on it, but it fit with know problem and with room to spare.
Also I liked how it is designed to keep each bike seperate from each other so as not to damage each other. The fact that you can use on a small hitch or a larger hitch is also a plus. all around a great product for the money!.
At first glance, the Saris 2-Bike Rack is unassuming, flexing slender arms, and design the seemingly avoids all signs of beefed-up ego. However, a closer look reveals it to be one of the most structurally sound and practical tools available to anyone in need of bike transport.
Highly reviewed on Bicycling Magazine and responsibly sourced, this 100% recycled plastic bike rack holds two bikes of 35 pounds each in an arc-design for superior strength and stability. Spring buckle straps and hooks secure the bikes from movement on the road, and ratcheting straps hold tight to the frames.
The arc style design accommodates most cars and fits most spoiler designs as well. And being lightweight at 9 pounds, one-person install in with reach.
The Saris Bones 2 bike carrier is small, lightweight, and foldable for easy storage between uses. It will fit on the back of almost any car of any size with it’s adjustable straps and movable legs. I use it to carry one bike and it does it easily, I’ve never tried loading 2 bikes on so not sure how it would go doing that.
I like the straps that it uses to lock the bikes in, they are easy to do up and undo, and feel like they would last a long time. The lightweight plastic design makes it easy to setup, dismantle, and adjust whilst on the car.
I definitely recommend reading the instructions and also watching YouTube videos to help the first time you set it up, after that it’s a breeze. Readjusting the tension of the straps once the bike or bikes are loaded is definitely an important step whenever you are using this bike carrier.
I bought this from Halfords a week ago for a trip to France. Website advised this was a perfect fit for my car. After spending time securely fitting the rack to the car and loading the bikes per instructions we drove off for our trip to France the following morning.
Lasted 5 mins with one of the upper arms failing and shearing off and everything flying off the back of the car. Luckily we were on local roads close to home, not travelling fast and on one was behind us.
Only loaded 2 bikes under the weight threshold. Maybe I was very unluck, but it is mainly plastic and doesn’t seem strong enough. I would advice getting a tow bar and getting a hitch on bike rack like Thule with plenty of strong metal.
Very disappointed as it seemed a well rated product. In France at the mo and will get getting a refund when I’m back in the UK.

With its robust construction, eye-catching style and compact design that carries both bikes on a single bar, the SuperClamp is your bike’s new BFF.
This lightweight – yet mighty – platform hitch rack is ready to hit the road at a moment’s notice. Whether you’re hauling eBikes, beefy mountain bikes, your prized TT rig, or an assortment of bicycles, the SuperClamp’s dual shepherd’s hooks promise all bikes a truly secure ride without touching the bike’s frame.
And thanks to the SuperClamp’s tilting feature, no more unloading bikes to let the dog out of the back. Simply tilt down and release the hounds. Top it all off with integrated locks, a built-in bottle opener and head-turning reflectors, the SuperClamp 2-bike is proof that you can have your cake and eat it too.
Full-squish trail rigs and fat tire bruisers have a reputation for toughness, but deep down inside they’re actually big softies, especially the carbon ones. Realizing this, the Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Hitch Rack safely transports your favorite enduro sleds, fat tire steeds, and even road bikes.
In fact, this versatile rack secures bikes ranging from smaller 20 inch versions all the way up to 29 inch wheels, holding massive tires up to 5 inches wide on fat tire bikes. Frame-free ratcheting arms secure the front tires without scratching up your carbon trail whips or transmitting road vibration through their frames.
Wider wheel trays accommodate a wide variety of bikes, with a ratcheting rear wheel strap keeping the rear end firmly secure. These trays are fully adjustable, allowing you to slide them back and forth to eliminate any bike rubbing.
The SnugTite attachment locks the rack to the hitch, so thieves won’t take off with your sweet rack. One Key System compatibility (sold separately) allows the ratcheting arms to lock down over your bike’s front tire to deter theft.
Plus, its HitchSwitch gives you the ability to fold it up when it’s not in use, also providing a backwards tilt for rear-trunk access without painstakingly unloading the bikes.
I originally purchased this product online and planned to assemble the hitch rack at home. When I opened the box the two plastic bags containing needed parts were missing. REI was great on the exchange and built one for me the I picked up the next day.
When I picked up my new fat tire bike from another shop, the rear wheel strap was not long enough to secure the wheel on the rack. Turns out, for fat tire bikes the strap needs to be rethreaded on the rack.
I spoke to the service department at REI and the manager was aware of the need to rethread the strap to accommodate fat tires but the staff who put it together do not always ask what type of bike you plan to carry on your bike rack.
*PATENTED ANTI-WOBBLE SYSTEM: Mechanism utilizes a system to eliminate slack between the receiver and the rack, keeping your bikes sturdy and safe. *QUICK RELEASE TILT DESIGN: Patented lever used to fold up rack when not carrying bikes and to tilt down the rack for rear cargo access.
+EASY TO ADJUST AND INSTALL: Padded clamps to hold bikes in place and 5″ wide heavy duty wheel holders are all adjustable to fit most bikes. Installation is easy with most parts already pre-assembled.
For 2″ hitches only (Not recommended to use a 1 – 2 hitch adapter). *SAFE, DURABLE and SECURE: Power coated steel tubing will hold bikes up to 60 lbs each. Includes key for locking hitch pin (spare included) and locking knob to secure bikes safely.
Rear reflector included for enhanced visibility. Bikes with low Y-frame may require the use of an Overdrive Bike Frame Adapter for better support.
Quality built. Handles 2 e-bikes including ones with fat tires. Easy assembly and install. Quality powder coat finish. Very stable/secure for travel. sturdy and well built. Easy to switch between vehicles with 2 inch receiver.
I use it on my RV a Winnebago Travato. I also have a spare tire on the back of the RV and this works fine with that. I tend to take back roads and so far this has done well. I also use this on my Jeep Wrangler with its OEM spare.
It fits either vehicle well. This is a great value. Workmanship and over all quality at such a low price is another reason I like it. Cost a lot less than racks 2 to 4 times its price. I am currently using it as a single carrier.
Loading and unloading this rack is really a non issue after I figured out a few things. I was concerned about the load/unload process since I am a viet nam veteran getting closer to 80 and have a bad back and a few other medical issues.
Was not too sure if this rack would stack up to the big name band types for the money. The reviews said it was good, but a bit heavy. I thought, ‘so what, it is on a trailer hitch’. The only thing I was initially disappointed in was that I thought it did not have a key lock for the hooks holding down the bike(s), but then discovered the key lock is hidden under a rubber cover.
The locking style is genius and works great. If you want a great unit and not wanting to pay the price of the well known companies (thus do not care about the ego of the others), then buy this one. 20 min to assemble WITHOUT reading the instructions was also great.
Best Buy when you do the research! If you check around there may also be a couple different prices but direct from the source is best and they even shipped free to Canada. You will find similar quality in the $400 and up range.
Awesome quality easy to assemble. Do your own homework but don’t be afraid to purchase from these guys!.
The Allen Sports S-102 Premier Two Bike Carrier fits sedans, hatchbacks, minivans and SUV’s (make sure to confirm specific vehicle fit above). Its patented design sets up in seconds and will safely transport your bicycles around town or cross country.
Two side straps deliver exceptional lateral stability on your vehicle. A patented tie-down system individually secures and protects your bicycles.
IšverstiShow in original languageI would recommend this product more but there is only painted metal clips that secure the auto bike carrier to your car. If you value your paint on your car, you must cover the clips with some kind of protective coat.
such as an old bicycle tube rubber cut and glued to the clips with rubber cement. The company says the painted clips will not harm the car’s paint if the carrier is installed properly. Any bump you may hit could transfer weight and move the clips.
As installed the carrier is very stable with one bike. I do not have two bikes to carry in order to know how stable it is to use as advertized. The adjustment fasteners loosened as I put the bike on it.
I bought the bar for female style bikes but didn’t need it because the manufacturer of the bike I had already considered it in their design and it fit easily on the Allen rack. Fastening was easy. The rubber fasteners may crack over time especially if left out in the sun, but were simple and easy to apply.
IšverstiShow in original languageGreat for one bike. Second bike when loaded sits too close to each other. Not a comfortable feeling to drive with two bikes knowing that the paint may rub off the bike from periodic vibrations.
The design could have allocated for this short distance between the clamps where the bikes rest when loaded.
IšverstiShow in original languagePocket friendly bike rack for regular use. Mounting and unmounting is very easy but I found the buckle of the straps to be little loose. Though we purchased the 2-bike carrier but we prefer to carry one inside and one on the rack for longer distances.

18. Thule 910XT Passage 2 Bike Trunk Mount Carrier, Black
Stable fit to vehicle via 6 point strap attachment
Rubber cradles and straps protect bikes from scratches
Arms fold down when not in use
Product Details
Grab your bikes, put them on the back of your vehicle and go with Thule’s Passage rear rack. It’s that easy because Thule’s innovative Fit Dial easily attaches the Passage to most vehicles and the 6 straps securely hold it in place (straps not shown), while Thule’s rubber anti-sway cradles keep your bikes from swaying into each other.
You’ll also love that the rack arms fold, making it super easy to store this rack when it’s not in use.
The Heininger Advantage SportsRack glideAWAY2 Deluxe 4 Bike Carrier is a rear oriented bike carrier for vehicles utilizing hitch receivers that allows full access to the rear interior of the vehicle without the necessity of removing the bikes.
Designed around an accordion style folding mechanism, when need be the glideAWAY2 deluxe can extend up to 23 inches away from its locked position close to the vehicle. This makes it perfect for use with hatchbacks.
It can also swivel either left or right when extended, allowing for even more space to reach cargo. The glideAWAY2 utilizes an anti-wobble device and an adapter to fit both 2 in. and 1. 25 in. hitch receiver sizes.
The glideAWAY2 deluxe 4 bike carrier eliminates the agony and irritation often experienced with other rear mounted carriers of having to take your bikes off every time you want access to your vehicle from the back.
Designed to hold up to four bicycles with 1-2 in. top frame tubes. The ingenuous accordion style folding arm construction of the glideAWAY2 allows it to be pulled away from your vehicle with the simple lifting of the handle of its spring loaded safety latch, located behind its main upright support post.
This instant 23 in. of additional space gives you easy, convenient access to the cargo area of your vehicle anytime you need it. When finished with cargo the glideAWAY2 pops easily back into a secure locked position.
Well built and solid. Great value for the price. Very nice to be able to open the hatch without taking the rack off or rotating rack downward. Don’t buy a locking hitch pin to go along with it because it won’t fit.
I put a very small anti-theft lock in the hole in the hitch pin but a loop welded to the rack near the hitch would provide a more secure anchor point. Unlikely to be stolen though as it would require tools.
I taped old radiator hose to the rack for all our bikes that are not the standard straight 1-1/4 inch boy’s bike frame tube the carriers are designed for. It works just fine that way on the triangular “Giant” type frame tubes.
The bike rack is just plain awesome. Also, the makers are very nice and helpful people. I highly recommend this rack for your traveling needs! Most people have to remove the bikes to enter the rear door.
This design is outstanding. You’d be surprised how many times you need to get into the rear of the vehicle for something. It’s very simple to move out of the way without having to remove the bikes from the rack! The rack is a tad heavy but I don’t mind.
The rack hinges away from my car while fully loaded with up to 4 bikes with ease. In fact the rack is so simple and quick to glide away from my car I always leave it on and have since bought a lock for the hitch component for added security.
The set up directions are easy and provided all needed parts. Only 2 complaints are that fastening straps (connect bike frame or rack) seem to be a little unreliable. They are poorly fastened to the rack and have left very minor rubber marks on my white frame.
Although the rack was dirty when I placed my bike in it, so more my carelessness than rack faultiness, none the less watch out for this. Second complaint is that there is no dedicated loop or place to attach a lock to fasten the bike to the rack to protect against theft.
Fairly light weight especially when attached to car.
Low-Profile flat beam construction maximizes sightlines, protects, and minimizes weight
Removable liner system
Adjustable harness with ponytail slot
Repositionable chin cup

The Allen Sports S-104 Premier Four Bike Carrier fits sedans, hatchbacks, minivans and SUV’s (make sure to confirm specific vehicle fit above). It holds up to 140 pounds and is weather resistant with the powder-coated frame.
Its patented design sets up in seconds and will safely transport your bicycles around town or cross country. Two side straps deliver exceptional lateral stability on your vehicle. A patented tie-down system individually secures and protects your bicycles.
Wide profile, dual compound vehicle feet help to disperse the load of the rack and bicycles, and will protect your vehicle. The feet use hard black plastic to engage the rack and a soft gray material to protect your vehicle’s finish.
The S-104’s carry arms will accommodate a wide range of bicycle frame styles and sizes. Most traditional adult size bicycles, as well as most women’s and children’s frames can be quickly installed onto the rack.

There are a few things to consider when choosing the best bike rack for your minivan. The first is the type of rack, which includes hitch-mounted, roof-mounted, and trunk-mounted racks. Hitch-mounted racks are the most popular type, as they are easy to load and unload, and they keep the bikes out of the way of the vehicle.
Roof-mounted racks are also a good option, but they can be more difficult to load and unload, and they can block the view out of the sunroof. Trunk-mounted racks are the least popular option, as they can be difficult to install and can damage the vehicle’s paint job.
The next thing to consider is the capacity of the rack. Most minivans can accommodate two or three bikes, but some racks can hold up to five bikes. The capacity will depend on the size of the bikes and the width of the rack.
Finally, consider the price of the rack. Hitch-mounted racks start at around $100, while roof-mounted racks can cost up to $500. Trunk-mounted racks are the most affordable option, starting at around $50.
