20 Best Bike Racks For Garage (2023 Updated)

We have 8 bikes (and growing) including MTB, road, gravel, hybrid and Ebikes. We have tried several different of Bike storage products over the years – both floor and wall mounted and still ended up with a cluttered garage with no space to access anything else.

I decided to try one last solution and buy the steadyrack fat bike version for our 2 MTBs. Instantly the garage had some space again. I then bought the standard version for our Hydrids and the fender version for the road bikes with mudguards.

Now all 8 bikes are on the walls. The great thing about the steadyrack is that provided you have 30 cm of wall space you can fit in a bike. It doesn’t matter if the handlebars are 750mm wide – the bike still doesn’t get in the way because the bikes can be swung out of the way effortlessly with just 1 finger.

Getting the bikes on and off the rack is a breeze – it takes a few practice attempts – but if the wife can rack/unrack her 30Kg trekking Ebike then trust me anyone can handle any bike. The racks aren’t cheap and most people will need a few – if you are unsure, just buy one and try it and then buy more as funds permit.

Fantastic product, easily holds my e-bike (25kg) and make storage easy. The frame it well made and the swing action is perfectly balanced between easy swing away but also enough frictin to remain in place while loading and unloading.

The only improvement I would suggest is to make the top and botttom bolt covers a bit easier to remove after fitment. I had to relocate mine and ended up breaking off two of the plastic tabs trying to remove the cover.

Not a big deal, the covers still stay in place and the tabs can’t be seen.

I have had this for several weeks now. I bought a new condo but there is only a car port with no storage locker for any extras like bikes, SUPs, or snowboards. I decided to make everything part of a wall art piece.

This bike rack is the perfect Silurian and very very robust. The swivel feature allows me to lay the bike flatter against the wall which makes my old beasts design easier to see. I made a dark accent wall that is a blackish green from Sherwin Williams called country squire.

It provides a perfect backdrop since it is a matte finish and it isn’t reflecting all of the glare a light colored wall would. I also mounted the rack higher so it would swing up and over my massive Velodyne subwoofer.

I was worried that it might make it hard to get my bike up into but with the design of this rack it is so simple to put my bike in it. In fact it is much easier than my previous two tier oak horizontal rack once the bike is in the rack it is solid and does not move around.

My previous rack allowed the front wheel to rotate and the tires to scuff the walls. Zero scuff marks possible with this rack. Like I said I couldn’t be happier and will be installing 5 of these in my sisters garage in the next few weeks while I try to organize her garage so things aren’t hogging up valuable garage floor space.

The ability to swivel these racks so the bikes are further out of the way is fantastic. And the ability to simply walk the bike into the rack gives on so much ease and control which will be vital since she is rather tiny.

The bike rake was exactly what we needed to get the bike off the garage floor. The packaging was great so it arrived without any damage. The assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow. They were missing the last step of sliding the rubber bike holders on, but it was obvious what needed to be done.

I don’t know how many people have a 10mm wrench, but I was glad I did because it made tightening the screws a lot easier. The adjustable feet are great to have to take the wobble out. We only needed it for one bike so the upper arms will be good to hold the helmet and bike lock.

Does not fit well 4 large bikes I have 2 small kid bikes on top and 2 large one at bottom. Wish it was easier to remove the bike. Once in there , with a heavy bike- it is hard to slide them out. You have to maneuver way out and it can be a pain.

Easy assembly, high quality, and very stable. This rack does a great job of holding two bikes, and looks good doing it. One of the best purchases ever. Even my wife loves it!!

I wanted to get all of the bikes off of the garage floor with a simple solution. I found this rack at storeyourboard. com and grabbed it. The price was good and it was just what I was looking for. It was delivered quickly and I was surprised by small size and low weight of the product.

The installation was quick and easy and the rack works great. I use it to store four bikes but I see how it could fit five (although it would be a tight fit). The simple design of this rack is pretty ingenious and it is very sturdy.

I would like to point out one issue with this rack. Be mindful that the bike tires will be leaning against the wall. When I first installed the rack, I noticed the black tire marks on the wall. No big deal for most people but it bugged me.

To remedy this I painted the section of the wall beneath the rack a dark gray almost black color. It looked amazing but when I put my bike away wet, after riding in the rain, the tires stuck to the drywall and pulled the paper off.

I bought a roll of self-stick, vinyl diamond plate from Amazon, and applied it to the wall where the tires rest. It looks amazing and protects the drywall (see pics). Overall I am extremely happy with this product, it looks and works great and keeps my garage very neat looking.

Notwithstanding the above mentioned issues, I HIGHLY recommend this rack.

This rack is without a doubt a fantastic overall design. It’s durable, space saving, and if you’re creative, unrestricted by the need for studs in their specific location (please see my photos). I took two 2x4s to catch my studs and then shift my placement of the rack where I needed it horizontally.

For me this was important because I needed this rack in a very specific location to maximize space. The rack is a nice matte black which I’m a fan of and it’s a great deterrent to rust. My qualms with the rack are that the pins and the hooks don’t seem to line up perfectly with the bar that is meant to pass through on both shelf arms.

I was able to get the pin down the first hole and through the bar but not the second on 4 of the 5 hooks provided. I think the need for exacting measurements when designing the hooks is needed. Overall I’m really happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone in the market.

I went out and bought two of their vertical 2 ski rack bars to mount elsewhere in my home. I’ll most likely continue to use these guys for all my storage needs where their products are applicable.

Before we moved to this house, our bikes used to stay in our Florida room. Here they sat in our garage taking up floor space. We needed to find a good way to store them out of the way. I found this rack and saw the reviews with pics from other customers and thought this would be ideal and the price was VERY reasonable.

We have really tall ceilings in our garage so a ceiling mounted rack or system was not feasible. Overall very happy with how the bikes hang out of the way. The hardest part of the install honestly was ensuring we hit the studs as close to center mass as possible.

so we measured and A LOT, check the level a LOT and also used nails to test our mounting spots to get the rack straight and secured since we were mounting this a little higher than most. Overall, excellent choice- we have our 4 bikes mounted-if we get another one, it will fit on there without issue.

Highly recommend this rack.

Works fine and looks great. Tested with only one road bike and an additional set of wheels + accessories so I can’t comment on durability and sturdiness with two bikes. I am a little concerned about putting my mountain bike on the rack and intend to put a second road bike in future.

Sadly it’s let down by the poor quality control; the product arrived with scuffs, dents and scratches. Looks all cosmetic (possibly a returned item) and the legs are asymmetrical, perhaps by design for stability? Customer services at Tredz we’re accommodating with the issues.

I wouldn’t recommend the item, in hindsight I would have purchased another brand such as Topeak.

I purchased this stand to hold two bikes in my apartment. Having read all the reviews about stability, I was concerned that the daily use of this stand would prove annoying. In the end, the biggest issue was getting the arms properly situated and angled.

If your frame (like many women’s bikes) has an angled top bar, you may initially struggle to get the bike to sit well on the rack. This issue can be solved by carefully aligning the arms and practicing with the bike, but such work requires a little patience.

I have not experienced the arm-slipping that others describe here. Without the anchor strap, this stand is a little wobbly. We have deep plaster walls that cannot be drilled into and so we are unable to use an anchor, but I expect that the wobbles would be easily solved with the anchor strap.

Regardless, my partner and I have been nothing but pleased with this stand. Four stars because of the learning curve, but if you’re looking to quickly and easily solve your bike storage problems, I recommend this stand!.

I own over 15 bikes, taking up alot of room for storage. I own a 30 year old Allen trunk rack, still in good shape. I use the wall rack outside, for minor maintenance of my bikes. It’s not exposed to direct rainfall, so I am not worried about the rack rusting.

Wal Mart offered the best price period.

After I bought the adapter bar for my girls cruiser, I also installed the wall rack. I got a stainless steel screw from Lowes (didn’t use the one supplied after reading reviews), got out my tools, and attached to wall in garage.

I had already marked stud so installation was quick and easy. Very happy with myself and product considering I’m a 65 yr. old grandma.

Only one bike is involved here so I can’t speak to it’s ability to handle more. For my purposes however, it is super. It gets the bike off the garage floor, takes up little room and the price was perfect.

I did trade out the original screw for a “deck” screw since it was longer and I am positive it is not going anywhere. That is not to say the provided screw would not have worked, I just tend to use “bigger hammers.

Sturdy indeed, if you align it well. Easy to assemble. Looks neat and tidy. I even purchased a second.

I was very pleased with these hangers, and the hardware they came with. I mounted 3 of the 4 hooks. I drilled holes using an electric hammer drill and masonry bit, tapped the anchors in, and then put the 4 screws in.

Repeated that two more times. Couldnt be more pleased with the value. I would be a little leery about mounting this on dry wall, and would def not mount it unless I found a stud. Additionally you will need to alternate heights so the handlebars dont hit each other.

I went with a difference of 4 inches.

I am very pleased with the quality of this product. I was a little skeptical on whether or not they would be sturdy enough. But I was well pleased when I open the package and found heavy duty gauged Steel in the construction of this product.

I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to support not only their bikes but any other items you want to hang in your garage and give it that organized look.

I expected this to be terrible, but would spend <$18 just in case before I bought the good ones (anything similar from retail bike shop are about $80 per unit - $240). So glad I did, these are simple, effective and strong.

My bikes are now neatly hanging on my garage wall.

I have two pairs of these. They worked for older bikes but my wife just bought a new bike and the hooks don’t close fully. The tires are only 2. 4″ wide which the hooks are supposedly rated for but the hooks lack the DEPTH to allow them to fully close.

It’s really sad looking at feedback on this page as old as 4 years old to this effect with a canned response from Gladiator about how they are looking into it. You’ve got customers invested in your Gear Wall systems and then you are leaving them hanging out to dry when it comes to evolving your product to stay up with the market.

That’s not right. It’s not like you are selling one off products here, it’s an entire system.

I have a garage full of gladiator equipment, and the company is ignoring the multiple requests going back 3 years (just read older the reviews) to redesign this product to fit modern mountain bikes. This works great but only for road bikes and older or kids mountain bikes.

It is useless for most newer adult mountain bikes because the claws are just slightly too small to clear the deeper rims and/or wider tires. All of the recent reviews are “incentivized” so maybe take those with a grain of salt.

I cannot recommend this product until they respond to this issue. It has been years of asking by many people and all we hear are crickets. We need V4. 0!.

After finally receiving my Gear Wall panels I was able to install the bike storage clamp. The design is great. My garage storage availability is limited however and I would prefer to store the bike flat against the wall rather than jutting out into the garage.

That feature reduces my walkway and clearance in the garage. I prefer the storage against the wall. If you have room, this device would be outstanding and is well made. Better for carbon fiber bikes that are light to pick up.

A heavy beach cruiser would be particularly difficult for someone who has a difficult time lifting heavy objects. Awkward in that respect.

I bought this several months ago. It was easy to assemble, but I noticed that the rubber sleeves on the arms easily slipped off the end of the arm. It was easy enough to push back into place though. The arms were easily positioned for the different bicycle frames, but the position shifted when I took the bikes off the rack and had to be repositioned when I put them back on.

It’s been a hassle to have to essentially replace the arms each time I take a bike off the rack.

To note, it says everything is included to put the product together, but it is not, you need a phillips head screw driver to complete. Also, the photo of the product actually holding up bikes has different arms (red) than the arms included in this product (Grey).

The arms that come with it (the grey ones in other photos) are not long enough to hold the bike so the handlebar/front wheel can stay straight, in order for the bikes to fit, the wheel and arms must be turned at an angle, causing the tires to rest against the wall.

I’ve been looking for a way to store two bikes in my studio without taking up a lot of space. The Delta rack solved my problem. I will be adding an anchor just to be safe but it’s pretty stable, both bikes sit on it well without having to do any adjustments to the bikes like lowering seats or taking off tires.

I’m really happy with it, and it could not be easier to put together.

Very happy with these. Arrived very quickly. I can now keep my bikes on the wall and off the floor. They keep the bikes secure. They came with dynabolts to affix to concrete or brickwork however I used timber screws to fix to stud wall.

Works perfectly well at holding up a bike, but unlike the pictures the holder is on a angle and not square like in the pictures. Not sure if ours are just bent in production or hole for arm attachment has been drilled off centre or if its meant to be this way?.

Missing installation instructions. Missing washers and nuts. Plastic wrap was sealed with missing items. No quality control.

Just installed. Pretty straightforward and works really well. In my case I can walk under the bikes now which frees up loads of garage storage real estate. One issue I have is with the e-clips seem like a lightweight part for hanging bikes.

Seems to work though.

I purchased this item for three bikes and couldn’t be happier. I didn’t want to start making holes in my walls and ceilings and be stuck with one location to store the bikes. This gives me options and is much cleaner.

The product is amazingly sturdy and assembly was a breeze. I would definitely recommend this product and you cannot beat the price!!.

The bike stand has done a good job so far (~3 weeks). It was simple to assemble, and the bike holding arms have stayed in place. There was initially some concern that it was leaning, but that was remedied by placing a weight on one of the legs.

It does look a bit untidy when loaded up with 4 bikes, as there isnt much to keep the front wheels pointing forward.

Easy to assemble and move around. The prongs to hang your bike on are easily adjustable as well if you want them at a different position/height. Holds 4 bikes nicely. The only major downfall is that, since this isn’t bolted to the wall or anything, you really have to pay attention to weight and balance of your bikes, or the rack could come crashing down on you.

Sure, it seems self explanatory that you can’t have two bikes on one side and none on the other and it will tip over, but it’s worth knowing upfront. If you have young kids who might try and use it, I’d advise caution.

I bought 2 – 1 for a standard Road Bike, and 1 for a Bike Friday (20″ wheel) Travel bike. As I have set them up, they work well, but there are a few things to consider: 1) Screw into studs. See # 1 below 2) Don’t mount them too high – # 2 3) They will work with larger tires, but they are harder to hang # 3 # 1 – In theory heavy “toggle” type hollow wall anchors will work, but I’d recommend against them.

Toggles are strongest when supporting downward forces, not outward, and the way these hooks work, the leverage puts the forces on the top screw directly out from the wall. That’s where wood screws into studs work best.

I tried with toggles, but was afraid that eventually they would pull out of the wall, and I’d have a big hole in the wall, and maybe a broken bike. #2 – Initially I put the mount for my Bike Friday high on the wall.

But the higher up the hook is, the harder it is to wrestle a bike into it. And if the bike isn’t a light road bike with skinny tires, it’s challenging to hang the bike. So put the hooks as low as reasonably possible.

Just remember. Your muscles don’t work as well when your arms are over you head! #3 – Yes, fat(er) tire bikes can work. I believe there is a limit – likely at the size of the largest traditional Mountain bike tire.

My Bike Friday has 1. 5″ wide tires. Not as fat as mountain bikes, but the wheels are 20″ in diameter, and the smaller diameter adds to making the hanging a bike harder. Initially I mounted it high up.

The combination of working way up, and manipulating the bike was challenging to say the least. But when I swapped bikes, and put the Friday on the other, lower hook, it was MUCH easier. Hanging a road bike with 25 mm tires up high is much easier.

My guess is that those who say fat tires don’t work, tried mounting high enough that they were lifting the bike over their heads, OR they have really fat tires. If you keep the hooks low, and aren’t talking really wide tires, it’s manageable.

This is a strong and well designed, well made product with a good paint finish. It works really well and the bike wheel rim is well protected from damage due to a hefty rubber protector. The only puzzle for me is why they suggest hanging the bike from the front wheel, when it seems more secure to me to hang it from the rear wheel, which is how i use it.

Highly recommended.

Overall this rack was easy to install on the wall, and it’s an awesome way to store my bike. However, there’s a rubber sleeve on the hook, and it tore immediately, first time I hung up the bike. I think the spoke can shear it a bit if you’re not careful hanging it up (and who is careful hanging a 30lb bike in the air?) Now it has a few tears in it, and it kinda slides off too.

Also the bottom part of the rack, where the rear tire rests, is held on my wall by a sticker, and I don’t think it’s going to stay on that much longer.

Well designed, high quality, very well packaged – flawless powder coat epoxy finish – and all pieces were double-wrapped in the carton. If you’ve experienced ELFA durability, this is quite comparable.

Manufactured by Delta, the steel is heavy gauge with a thick epoxy finish. Pieces fit together snugly, with nice stainless steel screws to secure them in place. Assembled in about 5 minutes. The support hooks are really grippy, super easy to position and really secure.

They can be intertwined on the pole to perfectly adapt to any bicycle frame geometry – we have gravel bikes with sloped top-tubes – this holds them level and well spaced from the floor and from each other.

The arms that hold the bike are sturdy, terminating in a well-padded flattened relaxed crescent, so you can flare them quite wide to fit the length of the top-tube – this is good for weight distribution for the bicycle, as well as being highly stable and close to the wall.

Love the gravity design – it becomes more stable as you add weight to it. We looked at a lot of other options before choosing this bike rack. Great quality, better support for our bikes, adaptable to multiple bike styles, and portable – so if we move we just pack it up and take it with us!.

If your bike is on the heavier side and is a step through or has a sloped cross bar, this stand will not work for you. Note the display photo has two lightweight bikes with horizontal cross bars. I tried to adjust the hooks to accommodate my bikes but they keep moving downward.

The stand is now being used as a bike helmet rack. Total fail.

I was looking at many styles for indoor storage for my small studio. Decided on this on because it was from Walmart and not a vendor on their site or amazed that all charged a restocking fee and if got free shipping would charge you for that as well if returned if something did not work out.

Walmart had this and it ended up being perfect. It is somewhat stable once bike is on it and have no issues and find it well made and easy to assemble. Since never bought one before I wanted the assurance of return with no fees if unhappy.

It arrived sooner than said and when picked up they said you can return it if don’t like. Both store and product was good for me. Also much cheaper than any other lace that went up to $129.

This rack works great. The parts are all labeled and it’s simple to assemble. You have to find a joist to screw the top into, and position it accordingly. In the absence of a joist, you may be able to crank up enough tension with the feet so it holds in place.

It also needs to be 8-10″ from the wall to accommodate the width of bicycles. I have e-bikes on the lower hangers and have no problems.

I purchased this bike stand because it was advertised as being able to stand alone which is NOT the case. We lease a condo (with limited storage) so it was important that we didn’t drill into the concrete walls on the patio.

According to the advertising, this bike stand should have been the perfect solution. Assembling the stand was a breeze but as soon as my boyfriend put the first bike on the bottom rack, it started to fall over.

We took the bike off, checked the instructions and tried again with the same result. We also tried adding the 2nd bike to the top rack with me holding the stand hoping it would serve as a counterbalance.

He hoisted the bike up onto the 2nd rack and if I hadn’t been holding the stand, it would have fallen over onto him and the glass patio table. This would have been a catastrophe. If this bike isn’t able to stand alone then it shouldn’t be advertised as such.

It’s just a matter of time before someone is injured and files a lawsuit.

Garage floor must be perfectly level for this to work, which will exclude old houses. Easy to assemble, Packaged appropriately, the adjustable arms are only suited for straightbar road bikes and each bike must have short frames to fit 2 bikes.

Because our floor isn’t perfectly level this rack is unstable. My bike is a men’s with an angled bar and it slides down the lower arm which in turn 1) throws off the balance of the rack and 2) scratched my paint.

This makes the entire rack unstable even if it is anchored. It is also too short. Even at the highest setting the 2 bikes touch. This purchase did not suit our needs and was not a worthwhile purchase.

I cannot recommend this rack.

When my husband showed me this bike rack I was somewhat skeptical. But it was a good price and we didn’t want to spend too much on one. I figured worse case scenario we could send it back. It’s been a little over a week, the bikes are still hanging with no signs of falling off.

It’s actually a great bike stand. It’s a little tricky at first figuring out how to position the hooks for proper height between the bikes and balancing the bikes. It blew my mind that the stand actually just rests against your wall.

You can anchor it to the wall if it makes you feel better but there’s really no need to. Great product, great purchase.

This rack holds my tri bike and road bike year round in the guest bedroom turned pain-cave. Sturdy and has never failed me. I love that I can move it and no drilling or anchoring. Wouldn’t use for a heavy vintage bike – but that one lives in the garage anyway 🙂 would absolutely buy again.

And might when the bike family grows. (n+1).

Bought this bike rack because of the good reviews, ease in assembly and the thought of having my bike off the ground in the garage without a super complex hoisting system. I am disappointed. Yes it is easy to assemble but putting the bikes on is not easy and they are basically still on the ground.

I plan on returning.

What a great addition to the home. Easy assembly and anchoring. We have a lot of bicycles and motor scooters and they fit well. I will be getting another to expand the parking even more. The accessory rack on top is great for hanging helmets and locks then not in use.

Wish I could give it 6 stars.

Easy to assemble. Kids like It. The helmet hangers could be little better designed – sometimes they fall off if the adjacent helmet bumps It.

The rack is constructed of a heavier metal then I expected and good construction. The cost is less then I would have thought for the quality. To work best it needs to be secured to the ground.

Arrived on-time as-described. Great for compacting bikes-all-over-the-place family garage. Good design concept but needs a bit of polishing: 1. Hooks are awkwardly angled, imperfect for safely gripping wheels between spokes.

2. Hooks slide while mounting/dismounting (resolved by installing elastics on either side of each hook mount to limit travel). 3. When unloaded, hooks are prone to falling off upon impact – e. g. during loading/unloading.

4. Fact of life – bikes by their nature are awkward to tilt/lift vertically & mount with necessary precision.

We bought this just before the snow came so we could get the bikes off the floor for more room in our garage. It is a great bike rack and do highly recommend it. We wish there was a middle bracket for extra support as with 4 heavy bikes the middle bows slightly, but since the 2 ends are in studs we assumed manufacturer thought it was strong enough.

If you have a small garage, this rack is not for you. It takes up a lot of space so your garage must have a good area to accommodate. I do recommend this product. It was easy to hang up and looks great.

We didn’t give it 5 stars because of the slight lack of support in middle and minor bow, and taking the bikes off and on is not too easy, it does require some strength, but otherwise very happy.

Received the item on Wednesday and installed it today. Easy to install. I have only five bikes hanging on it. 4 are mountain bikes and one cycle cross. Can’t imagine trying to jam another one on there.

To be fair the Overview does state “For daily use, it is recommended to store up to 4 bikes, making it easier to get the bikes on and off the rack. ” The bar is sagging in the middle. To hang the bikes on each of the hooks is painful.

Trying to get the wheel into the hook is very difficult and when you do finally get the wheel in it does not sit in the deepest part of the hook. It is as if the hooks are not made with enough material or are just not manufactured correctly.

To remove the bike(s) is equally as painful. For this price I should not have to struggle to get a bike in to and out of the hook. Contemplating if I should return it.

Even with the rail it’s a deal. Other sellers way more money for bike organization. I didn’t give it five cause hooking it into the hook is a bit tricky more upper body strength needed lol

My husband did lots of research on how to keep our small garage organized and decided the Fast Track system would work best. What an ingenuous product! We installed the rails and he bought these bike hooks.

They are great: we have 5 bikes up there, including a heavy steel frame Dutch bike. They’re easy to get on and off and there hasn’t been any damage to the wheels or rims.

Wonderful useful and strong. Im using it for 2 different applications and it does them both well.

Great product. No complaints other than it does not move upwards far enough to stay there. So, it sticks out from the wall when no bike is in it. Best of all, I couldn’t find one anywhere in our community; and Walmart got it to me in 2 days.

The box arrived ripped to pieces inside another box and screws missing. Not Walmarts fault. Love the rack

Looks good, I am yet to hang it..Came without wall anchors..Not that it was missing them, they just don’t send wall anchors..
