20 Best Bike Cover For Traveling (2023 Updated)

Id tried many different products and they either failed to remove black mould or it returned. This product has totally zapped it! Not often I rave about products but this is good. (No, I dont work for Cillit Bang!).

Bought the large size for my son’s adult bike which is stored in the patio and I’m impressed by the quality of this bike cover. It is heavy duty and well made. Will update my review once I see how it handles snowy and rainy days.

The Yard Stash bicycle cover is the best we have owned. We have been through so many that have ripped and only lasted a year. This one is sufficiently large enough for two Schwinn hybrids, one with higher handle bars.

The top is made of heavier material for sun and elements. So easy to get over and buckle in perfect area to keep from laying on ground. Plus the color is nice in garden patio area being pleasing green which blends with nature.

I live in Tucson Az where the extreme heat can ruin the paint and other components of a mountain bike in no time. This Viaky cover is lightweight nylon that protects my bike’s tires, seat, grips, and paint.

I am happy with the way it fits and looks. It is exactly what I was looking for. However, I don’t see how it could fit over two bikes. My bike has a medium frame and 27. 5 tires so it’s not a small bike.

But Two bikes in my opinion would be a stretch!.

Does the job. Use it to cover two hybrid bikes in moderate conditions. Protects from dust & rain. Has not endured a heavy downpour yet but suspect it will be fine as long as I seal the seams before that happens.

DO NOT recommend this for traveling! Material is thin and will likely not withstand the air pressure at highway speeds. Easy to put on and take off. A great bargain.

We received this cover just in time to cover our mountain and road bikes before a torrential rain and hail storm. The cover shed the rain perfectly. Our bikes are on a rack on the back of our RV and for some reason, the cover did not come down low enough to cover the tires completely.

Regardless, the cover worked just as expected.

The top has a heavier dark material that is very sturdy. My last cover ripped when snow piled up on it. This cover remained intact and kept my bike dry during a very heavy rainstorm with high winds. I have a comfort bike which is a bit longer than regular bike frames and this cover is big enough to cover it completely.

It is a very good product in my opinion.

The cover is not a heavy duty long lasting cover. But at this price I have NO complaints. Will likely last all summer which is all I need.

I bought 2 covers for my bicycles. The first lite rain the bikes and there seats got wet. Not waterproof .

Cover fits bike well enough. It’s easy to put on, and protects it from the rain. I like the elastic gathers on each end, and the buckling strap in the middle under the bike. The wind will not blow it off and carry it away.

I do not think it is going to be very durable though. If it lasts a year I’ll be very surprised. The material is very, very thin.

It fit the bike nicely, but the nylon is so thin that I don’t expect if to hold up in our area’s weather. Living close to the ocean the winds get up to 30 mile or more gusts in our nor-easters and it ,might now be able to resist these winds.

Will see how it works out.

I have a Schwinn road bike and this fits perfect. The cover is lightweight well made. I’ve read where people said these where too small I bought the larges size. I tried to upload pictures to help you guys but it wouldn’t let me upload stating my pictures from my phone where too big!.

Lightweight, easy to use, easy to store. Keeps the dust off your bike in the garage, keeps the morning dew off when you’re camping out, just enough protection during those light rains when you stop for lunch.

Let me say it again, It is lightweight, easy to use, and easy to store. I use the exact same cover for my BMW K1600 and my BMW F700GS.

It’s hard to estimate the quality and thickness of the material from the website image. Having now received this cover my observation is, that it is a useful cover for daily use, quick and easy to use but expensive for what it is.

The material would need spraying with a third party waterproofing, in order to protect from anything other than a rain shower. The material is thin and vulnerable. The product is expensive, when you realise the cheap thin material used and then it’s made it in China.

The image on the website is not accurate in colour, it’s not green but light grey in colour. It’s a stretch of the imagination using the term “Guardian” in the description of this cover.

Very happy with our Yardstash bicycle covers. Generous size and lightweight so it is easy to take on and off the bike. The useful tightening cord at the bottom helps to make sure it doesn’t fly off. Appears to be waterproof.

Bonus is that it is a pleasant green rather than black (though the colour is fading in the hot Australian sun).

The details provided for this item were accurate. It fits my electric bicycle like a glove as the measurements were right. The quality of fabric and fit are good. I would highly recommend this cover.

I bought this for my Honda ST 1300 and was led to believe an Large would be adequate. It didn’t fit that bike. I know it has to be snug but I had to struggle to get it over my mirrors. Something seemed off about it so I tried it on my CX 500.

I had the logo over the headlight and the bike on the centre stand but the cover was stretched diagonally across from the right rear corner to the left mirror. I could not get it to sit straight. I returned it and bought a different type but that also would not fit over the ST but worked better on the CX.

I don’t even know what cover would fit the ST. It would be nice to enter your bike and then see the covers that will fit it so I don’t have to keep returning them.

Bought the cover to protect my 83 GL1100I when it’s parked beside our toy hauler RV on trips. It will be outside of course. I bought this expecting it would be one of the heavy rainproof covers, but when it came it is labeled as a “touring” cover.

Doesn’t say that clearly on the web advert. That means it’s lightweight and compact. The good news is it fits superbly on the bike, even covering the rubber on the wheels. It sheds rain quite well right now but after some wind and dust maybe not so good.

The water does soak through where it pools on the cover, so it is definitely not waterproof, just water resistant. It does the job and it looks great, but i don’t recommend it for long term outside storage where you get rain or snow.

I’ve only used this on my bike for about a week. So far so good. It did get rained and snowed on and it worked well. The only thing I have an issue with is the size. It fits but fits tight. I used the size chart and went with that.

I might have gone one size larger.

Love the way it wraps the entire bike. Also easy to install. The grommets at the bottom also allow using a lock for greater security. Very happy with my purchase.

I got this to keep the sun off my bike and it works for that. I think there’s supposed to be a hole for a lock to go through which would be nice, but I’m not seeing it. I’m wondering if maybe they mean that’s what the two little holes on the very front were for but definitely not sure how that goes.

Still nothing to cry about.

Well stitched and fits fat tire bike perfectly. Too early to tell if this bike cover stands up to mothernature over time, seems it well. One of the main uses is to cover the bike while outside on a boat where fog, mist and saltwater well be.

Тhe cover seems to be made of a decent quality material. It can accommodate the standard size road bikes. I don’t know how the cover will withstand the elements since I’m planning to keep my bike indoors.

Overall, I’m pleased with the purchase.

This cover disintegrated in 6 months. My handlebars and several other areas on my bike are now rusted. I would spend the extra money and purchase a more durable bike cover.

This cover is very lightweight, comes with a travel bag. Like the elastic front and back bottom edges but still is easy to pull off for a quick ride. It appears very well constructed. Fit was good.

Really like this cover! waterproof and protects the bikes from the sun! Have ordered 4 different covers. this is the only one that has lasted! The little lizards like the camo print. they lay on it and catch bugs! Was a bit small for my bike which is a cruiser style.

Would like the entire bike to be covered, 1/2 of each wheel is exposed.

Bought two WeatherTite Prime covers in March of 2015 to cover our mountain bikes on a trip from Florida to Alaska. Even though it is not recommended, the covers stayed on the bikes for almost all of the journey of just under 16,000 miles.

they were clipped closed under the bikes and were behind the small motorhome, so they didn’t get directly blasted the whole trip, but they endured everything including a two foot, 60 mph blizzard in South Dakota, all the dirt and grime that Alaska roads could throw at them and unbelievable winds at Destruction Bay, BC.

At the end of the trip the only damage to the covers was one tiny worn hole where the cover constantly contacted a brake lever. Since then we have continued to use the bike covers while we serve as camp hosts in National Parks and National Forests.

Other than that one rubbed spot, they are almost like new. You just don’t find this quality very often today.

I bought this cover not only to cover my bikes in the shed but to protect them when carrying them on the back of the car. I haven’t had the chance to try it in situ but it looks strong enough with bungee cord to stop any flapping.

Overall the material used is sufficient. However the design is lacking. It’s basically a oblong bag with no reinforcement backing where needed. Such as the handle bar and fender area. This product is not for me.

It fits my flat bar road bike OK and is well shaped. The storage bag that is attached to the side is nifty but it’s very compact so I have not succeeded at stuffing the cover in it for storage. The material looks water proof but it has not seen rain at this stage.

It has a major problem in that it thinks its a spinnaker! When used outdoors the wind gets under it and it blows off.

I have a Yeti SB130 29-er so was nervous about the cover size, as it has quite a long wheelbase – but this cover fits on well. The only addition I’d like to see is a velcro strap or something at the bottom to secure – as the bottom is purely elastic, and my bike sits on a pretty windy patio – so I am concerned about it blowing up like a parachute in windy weather.

Having said that, it has remained stable and in place with the bike sitting in a wheel stand – so, so far, so good.

The item is listed to fit a 26” frame so my frame was a 18” so should fit with room. When turned up the label stated it fitted a mountain bike with 26” wheels and no frame. So as my bike has 27. 5” wheels it doesn’t fit so will be returned.

Halfords really need to update its website with the correct information so this does not happen again.

I would have like to be as a wheel and chain pack; but for a trekking bike with mudguard I really want to travel by train + bike; ie the packaging may not be great and not difficult; So rather a pseudo packing dami Schaffner satisfied Thank you Gruss.

I tried to use this cover on my bike, but it did not fit. I had to return for a refund. It seemed like I needed an extra person to stretch it properly onto the bike. Mine has wide handlebars on a cruiser bike and it was extremely difficult to get it around the bars and elsewhere on the bike.

It seemed to get hung up on everything: the bars, the pedals, the fenders, etc.

This cover is lightweight and very flexible. Fit my bike very well. The initial drawback that I have my reservations on is that it is very thin so we shall see how it holds up.

This is an admirable prodect. It fits a road bike very well without excess fabric. It really does fold up into its attached pocket without much fuss. For most purposes, it would rate 5 stars. I gave it 4 only because it lacks a strap to make it perfect for my use, which is protection on the deck of a ferry on salt water.

The conditions on the ferry are pretty cruel for a bike, what with all the salt spray. On some of the ferries, the bikes are upright on the deck as in my picture; on others they hang by their front wheel, with the undersides facing outward rather than toward the wall.

That’s when I wish there were a strap to snap or velcro the gap shut. This cover keeps off most of the spray and reduces damage. Some spray still manages to reach the bike–maybe 15% of what used to get on it, depending on the weather, the chop, and the type of rack.

Two fellow ferry bikers have told me not to expect a cover to actually save my bike from needing frequent rinsing off and oiling, and both of them ended up getting junky bikes for their commute because of that problem.

So basically I am describing a bigger challenge than this cover would usually face. For keeping dust off a bike in a garage, it would be more than adequate. I wish I had had one of these when I used to keep a bike parkedoutside! Update: I was using a clothespin the secure the sides under the bike, but yesterday I couldn’t find the clothespin, and when I went to retrieve my bike, the cover was gone.

It was a breezy day on the San Francisco Bay. I can report that the cover held up well through several months of daily abuse and that I was able to fold it up each time and zip it into its pocket, twice a day.

Ordering another. This time, I will sew on a Velcro strap.

Inadequate allowance for width of handlebars. Halfords – go back to manufacturer and suggest they rectify this fault. Not worth you stocking otherwise.

I have an electric bike and chose it in the low-step, small-framed version because I am only 5,1”. I therefore assumed that this cover would fit but it didn’t, the area for the handlebars was far too narrow to ever hope to fit over them.

I returned it in-store for a full refund and bought a BikeHut single bike cover for £15. 00 instead, which fits fine and is perfectly robust and strong enough.

This looks and feels like a quality product, although is it worth the price? I don’t know. I guess that depends how much use you get out of it. I sent mine back because the main reason that i bought it was to be able to pack it away easily and carry from place to place, I tested it as soon as I unpackd it, and found that it wasnt easy to use at all, in fact it seemed impossible as the zip is so close to the case that the whole thing must be folded exactly as it came out, which was extreemly difficult despite it having all the original creases still there.

It still folds roughly, and is fairly compact, so it is possibly a good product if you’re not bothered about that, but cant really comment on how well it performs otherwise!.

The cover is great. It fits my bike well and is easy to put on and remove. Does it fit as perfectly neat as the product picture? No. But it’s very close. Closer than I expected. This product won’t disappoint.

My boyfriend and I have to keep our bikes outside as we live in a small flat in London so the cover has to be durable. Past covers I’ve used haven’t been as good quality material however this cover is much better/thicker, although it is a little tricky to squeeze the cover over the bikes.

Perhaps this is because we have to lean our bikes against a wall, and they’re rather big bikes. Apart from that I’m pretty happy with our purchase. Delivery was fast also :).

Dansgerous. Doesn’t hold on. Damaged my brand new grips on the bike as it flaps non stop. Only one Velcro to secure. Poorly designed.
