20 Best Bike After Balance Bike (2023 Updated)

Bought the red strider bike for my 18 month old. He’s already figuring it out! These help teach children how to balance and ride bike much faster than the training wheel method that I used with my oldest.

We’ve owned other balance bikes, but now I see that Strider has higher quality construction, are much lighter, and are much easier for smaller kids to get on and off of than the other brands!.

It’s good quality. One small issue is the front part that really need to strengthen very tight. Otherwise, it will loose very easily. My 22 month girl is just starting! Hope she will likes it!

This was my first balance bike I’ve ever purchased and I might love it more than my 1 year old nephew! With only a few steps it was very easy to put together. I got him the rocker base that way he can get confident on the bike before pushing around on it.

Very stable and looks awesome bright red! Love that it can adjust as he grows.

My 7 month old hasn’t grasped the concept of how the bike works yet BUT he loves grabbing at it and leaning on it. He’s very interested in it! Easy to put together. Shipping was extremely fast.

I love this bike and so has my son since a year old (15 months now) he is just starting to try and do it himself but isn’t walking yet so he just isn’t there yet! He loves me pushing him around on it.

He didn’t like the rocking base so much, but he also was never in to rocking/swinging. One negative. if you get the softer sports seat, it is too dangerous for a young baby. It is so soft that my son can take a bite out of it before I can even get to him and grab him.

I have to keep a baby blanket wrapped around it.

Let me preface this by saying I used to own a bike shop, and I realize this is a little kids bike, but some of the components are very cheap and don’t stay securely tightened, such as the collar that holds the handlebar stem and the seat post collar.

Since my 2 yr old hasn’t gotten the hang of this yet, he still drops the bike on it’s side which causes the handlebars to tweak off center. The same with the saddle. Also the hubs in the wheels were very rough and after some adjustments I was able to get a smoother spin but this should be adjusted at the factory as most people don’t have hub wenches or know how to adjust them in the first place.

Again, I know this is a toddlers bike. But it seems like the one we got didn’t have the correct size collars as no matter how tight I crank down the nut it still moves. However this is a very lightweight bike and the saddle height goes pretty low for little ones.

My son is on the small side. Keep in mind that putting the saddle in the lowest position causes the seat post to come out the bottom which your little one’s foot can get caught under in a fall. I feel like the seat post is unnecessarily long.

A child who needs the saddle in the lowest position is most likely too young to start riding a bike.

I ordered a bike before this one for my 2 yr olds birthday, all black, and they ended up sending me a pink bike. So I decided to try this one out because I didn’t want to chance the other company sending me another pink bike.

I was very pleased to find that I received the correct order through this company! The bike was easy to assemble; took me about 10 mins from unboxing it to it being assembled. It is very lightweight, which I like since I end up carrying it sometimes.

My little boy LOVES this bike. It’s easy for him to handle and the seat can be adjusted plenty to account for a shorter kid and taller so I was able to adjust it to a good height for him. He’s an average height for a 2 yr old.

I also liked how this bike wasn’t $100+ like some others. If you don’t care about being like everyone else and having the “cool name brand†, I highly recommend this bike! It’s great and was a good price compared to many bikes.

I’m so impressed with how light, yet sturdy this bike is. I love it. My 2 year old son had trouble lifting the other bikes he got handed down from his siblings but can easily lift this one out of its place on the garage, and control his balance better.

Got this instead of a Strider brand bike because I heard those are much heavier (and way more expensive). Pleased with much my decision so far. Very well made and easy to assemble. He’s loving it so far (2 months) and even making his older siblings jealous.

*Radio Flyer provided us with this balance bike to test out. Our first impression was quite a pleasant one when the box first arrived I was very excited because I knew right away it was a box from Radio Flyer.

As I know that Radio Flyer products are the very best in their categories. I waited for my husband to come home so he can put it all together as I am not very handing in assembling things. To my surprise, the assembly process was very easy.

The balance bike came mostly assembled! It took my husband 5 minutes to put it all together. First of all, we LOVE LOVE LOVE this balance bike the design EVERYTHING! It’s more than what I was expecting.

This bike is of excellent quality than more expensive bikes out there. It’s lighter and seems easy to manage. We love that the balance bike can be purchased in different colors, we received the pink one and my daughter absolutely loves it.

My daughter can’t get enough of the bell that it comes with the balance bike it is an awesome feature. We love that the bike comes with real tires that you can swap air if necessary, it is going to be a great addition to our outdoor trips.

The following feature I truly appreciate and love is that the seat is adjustable to the height of your child. My daughter who is 3 years old is taller than average girls. By having the seat to be adjusted she can feel comfortable and safe when playing with the bike.

The balance bike overall, seem very smooth, comfortable, stylish, durable, and safe. This has been a fun toy to add to our radio flyer collection. I know my daughter is going to love and have fun for many years to come.

This was given as a gift to my daughter when she was one. At that age the steering well, once put together, was too hard for her to easily turn left to right. We just attributed this to the fact that she was young but even now at 2 1/2, it doesn’t steer left to right easily.

A friend with a toddler has this same item and was over last week – her toddler had trouble with ours but has no problems with her own so she recommended I call customer service. Even as an adult, I have to give a little effort to turn the wheel.

I called customer service and was given instructions to loosen a specific bolt. But this bolt is already as loose as it goes without it falling off of the screw. Unfortunately, I think we just got a defective product or maybe one of the screws is wrong? Of course, we waited too long to call assuming she was just a bit young for it and are no longer within warranty.

Bummer. This product has a lot of good reviews so my advice is to make sure yours is you help me oh me functioning properly before the warranty is up! Customer service was kind but unfortunately not helpful in our case.

I like everything about this bike. My daughter is tall to be only 3 and a half years old. She weighs 42. 5 lbs and it fits her perfectly! She will have this bike for at least two years. My goal is for her to learn to ride it very well and the balance and not ever have a bike with training wheels.

My son had the exact same bike in the color Green at age 3 until he was 5 and half years old (until about 5 to 6 months ago and I sold it to a friend for her son). These are the best balance bikes on the planet if you ask me.

Bought this online as a Christmas present for my 3 year old. She has yet to receive it, but I assembled the bike straight away to make sure it was in working order. The bike seems very sturdy, yet lightweight.

The colour is fab and great for a unisex option that can be passed on to siblings of a different gender. The bike was very easy to assemble and straight forward to adjust the height of seat and handlebars.

Since my son picked his color he has been calling it the “cool bike” when he sees pictures, when it was delivered and when he rides it now. His cousins have started to graduate to pedal bikes but we love the progress we saw and the ease with which they rode when switching up.

I recommend paying close attention to the height minimums and maximums when purchasing.

I got this bike for only $40 on walmart. It was such a bargain and the quality of this bike is very good. My toddler has used it for half a year now and it still looks like new. She loves the real wheels as she can drive over different grounds.

So far we did not have to pump the wheels.

Arrive fast, easy to assemble, and my Peppa Pig-loving daughter is over the moon. I saw a Peppa Pig bike with training wheels but after hearing so much about balance bikes we decided to give this one a shot and she took to it so fast.

I assembled this crappy bike and hid it for Xmas. Unfortunately the rear wheel barely turns. Bad bearing. Been a week of a broken bike sitting here teasing my son. Bike shop wants 50 bucks to fix it.

I couldn’t be more disappointed. Don’t buy these bikes! I am trying to help you. Go with another brand.

bought this for my 4 year old granddaughter and it’s perfect! No wobble, light weight, and easy for her to ride! she loved her name on it with provided stickers! No kickstand though.

This bike was a Birthday Gift to my Grandson on his 6th Birthday. He was so excited to receive it and he loves riding it. My son and grandson now take daily bike rides together which is wonderful. Nice to see them exercising and enjoying the outdoors!.

Bought this for my daughter and she does amazing on it. She loves it and has definitely learned balance. This is amazing for toddlers and it’s going to set her up for a bog girl bike without training wheels faster than expected and I’m so excited for that.

This is a good balance bike. It’s nice and light. I like the fact it’s so versatile. The wheels are not as nice as our other (much more expensive) balance bike, but I am quite happy with this purchase.

We were in need of a second bike, as our kids are close in age, and this was a good option.

Was easy to assemble and my granddaughter loves it. She was afraid of training wheels because she thought she would fall over. On this bike she is not afraid because she is more in control. This bike is developmentally appropriate for first time bikers.

My child is 2 and ended up getting his Woom 1 about a month after his second birthday due to the back orders. He already had experience on a balance bike using a bike I previously purchased for my nephew who is now too big for his balance bike.

While looking into a bike for my son I began to realize the bike I purchased my nephew had many disadvantages regardless of its high ratings. Plastic seat, rubber wrapped plastic wheels, weight, limited seat adjustment, poor geometry.

This made me look into other brands. I previously came across Woom but was still undecided. Out of pure luck I met someone who’s son and daughter both had a Woom bicycle (Woom 1 and 2) and after seeing them up close.

I was sold. My son immediately took to the bike on our first ride out. He has been riding further, increasing the speed at which he’s comfortable riding and asking more often to ride his bike over the last few weeks than with the previous bike.

I truly believe his confidence has gone up due to his ability to maneuver the bicycle much more easily. I believe that bumps and imperfections in the surfaces he rides on not being directly transferred through the bicycle to him are a factor too.

I remember him hitting uneven sidewalk sections with the previous bike and stopping, probably because it was directly being transferred to his bum, this no longer happens. I’ve been more than pleased with his response to the bike.

This is a real bike for a child. Not a toy as with some balance bikes.

OK. I was skeptical, because $200 is ALOT to spend on a kids bike to me. but IT’S GREAT! Just gifted to my daughter for her 3rd birthday this week. She hopped right on and rode like a pro! Hoping she will be good enough by spring/summer to go on bike rides.

I also bought the surfboard attachment to put on once she can glide. WOOM cautions about buying a bike too big. listen to this. My daughter is only 1/2″ away from fitting the WOOM 1 Plus, and we tossed up which one to get.

I decided to take their advice, and glad I did. While she might be tall enough, I don’t feel she would be able to handle the larger 14″ frame yet. The 12″ one is enough of a challenge without frustrating her.

All in all. we are super happy. Yes, expensive. But I really do think it’s worth it. Very well made, and perfectly tailored to a child. Plus, they sell very well used, if kept in decent shape. My son will use it next :).

All 3 grandkids have learned to ride on the woom 1. Oldest moved up to woom peddle bike at 4 and half and got peddling down first afternoon. Now just turned five, she goes out with dad and just did a 6 and half mile ride.

She loves it and they ride often. Youngest on woom 1 is a speed demon at 22 months. He loves it and uses it every day, has great balance but hands are too small to use brakes yet. Middle one is 3, more cautious and a little slower to zoom, but he is learning and balance is getting better.

All kids are different, but the woom has been good and fun for all.

This bike is terrific. Bought a year ago (March ’21) for our then 2. 5 yr old daughter. She quickly loved it- the light weight and foam tires made it so we could start right in the house before moving outside.

She absolutely loved it – the size and weight made it easy for her to use and by the end of the summer she was riding a pedal bike. we totally skipped the terrible training wheel stage! She still enjoys riding this bike – goes between it and the pedal bike.

Cute Koala illustration and stylish design, also really easy to assemble. This tires are no-puncture, so you don’t need any worries. Not so heavy bike, so my son can lift easliy and love this. Also you can get free personalized driver’s license.

I bought this for my 3 year old grandson. It seemed like a good idea to get him started on a bicycle. However, the assembly method left a lot to be desired. There was no way to tighten the bolt on the collar to secure the handlebars from rotating.

I tried a wrench at first but there is insufficient room to get a snug grip on the nut. Next was a socket – this was bette but I was afraid of over tightening and stripping the threads. I wrapped some duct tape around the sleeve and was able to keep it relatively in place.

Very poor design.

My younger son received this balance bike from his uncle, this past Christmas and I was skeptical. However, my toddler took to this like I had never seen. The Radio Flyer balance bike was easy to assemble and easy for my son to use.

I really wanted to like this bike. The idea of a bike that grows with a child was appealing. Bought for my 5 year old, who has been riding a 2 wheel bike since he was 3, because it said it grows with children to age 7.

Unfortunately, when we put it together I had to make it as large as it would go for him to be able to ride. All that said, I still wanted to rate it well. Unfortunately, the right pedal completely broke off while he was riding it this morning.

The Plastic in the center of the pedal, where it slides over the metal, was completely ripped up and will not stay on the bike at all and will need to be replaced. He got this bike at the beginning of April and has taken it on daily 3 mile bike rides, until this morning when the pedal came off.

This bike is so well made and easy to follow instructions on how to assemble the Bike and to adjust it for different stages. My boy already had a trike but he didnt want to have training wheels on a bike so this Xtend Bike was the perfect fit for him.

He can learn how to balance on the bike without training wheels and when he is ready, all we have to do is attach the pedals. This is such a great Bike.

I bought this balance bike for my 3yo daughter, it took her about 8 months to understand that its fun to push hard and lift your legs. The bike gets used every other day and it’s still in excellent condition.

The quality is great. Balance bikes are a most in my opinion. So, what better than buying one that you can later attach pedals to it?.

The bike was really simple to assemble and feels really sturdy for as inexpensive as it was. Great quality. The way they built the axle through the front wheel (rides on a plastic bushing) makes the front wheel a little tough to spin at first.

A few good spins by hand allowed it to spin freely. My kid is 2 years and 3 months about average height, I did have to move the seat up to the middle setting. She’s has a three wheel version of this but is almost too good at it to use it anymore.

Bought this bike for our 2 year old grandchild. Her request was for a blue bike after seeing her neighbor riding a balance bike. Her parents also liked to idea of a balance bike to help her learn to balance and maneuver on a two wheeler without also dealing with pedals and training wheels.

Had researched several options which were more expensive, different wheel options, etc. Ultimately decided that this bike was worth the price especially as it won’t be used beyond a couple years. Our granddaughter at first walked with the bike but then straddled the bike and then sat on the seat.

She was delighted to ‘ride’. It will be exciting to see her improve.

I bought this balance bike last spring. It was very easy to assemble; it had clear instructions. The frame and components are durable and the bike is well designed. I like that it’s adjustable even though it is not a “quick adjust” toy (requires an allen wrench).

The wheels are holding up well (it’s mostly been ridden on grass and pavement). It’s lightweight, so my 1. 5 year old can maneuver it pretty easily. I do plan to put some chafe tape on the rear frame by the wheel because it gets scuffed when the bike falls over.

I thought this was made of mostly plastic for some reason, but’s not. It’s a tiny bike made of real bike materials. It was easy to put together and adjust for the 3 settings. I even made it a scooty trike, which is not technically in the instructions, but works great.

My son loved it immediately and has been pushing it around all afternoon going “vroom vroom. ” He has a lot of room to grow with it and I can change it when he grows. It’s clearly made to last too. Love it!.

We bought this bike for our grandson’s 2nd birthday and it has been a great hit. It assembled quickly (~10 minutes) and easily. His 2 year old legs don’t quite reach the trike pedals (he measured in the 80th percentile for height and weight at his 2 year check up) but for now he’s thrilled to be pushed.

We love that this is a solid, well made bike that will transition with him to provide years of enjoyment. Love the balance bike features. And as a bonus, the rubber tires ride quietly. Very pleased with our purchase.

I want to start off with the fact that my son absolutely LOVES his evolve Ybike! I got it for him for Christmas when he was 1 and 1/2 years old and he was a little bit too short to ride it but he loved to get up and sit on it and push it around.

When he turned 2 he was tall enough to ride it and now at two and a half he can’t get enough of it. He rides it to the park, he insists that we take it when we go anywhere and he gets soo excited when we go outside and he sees it.

He yells, “MY BIKE MY BIKE!” every time we go outside. It has really grown with him and I have even gotten to raise the seat already which proves that it really does adjust to exactly his size. It has withstood a tough toddler and myself who often forgets to bring it inside and there is no visible signs of weather on the bike.

This is a great company and a fantastic toy!.

This was brought for our 2 year old daughter. She loved it and took to ot very easily with the double rear wheel. Since then she has progressed to the single rear wheel. More speed and more ability. This is a quality balance bikeand we can’t recommend highly enough.

She’s ready for a pedal bike now, c’mon Velo do an entry level pedal bike please.

Assembly is quick and easy; everything is included. I love the double rear wheel, it helps my toddler get the hang of it and provides extra support while he is learning to balance. It is not lightweight but it’s not too heavy either, my petite toddler can prop it up without any help.

The bike we got looks exactly like the one listed, including the handlebar. Highly recommend.

2 1/2 year old granddaughter loves it. She zips around and balances well. Light weight yet sturdy. She started on the smaller one with two back wheels but has outgrown it.

We had to go to the local hardware store to buy a spacer and a nut that wasn’t in the package, but overall, it was worth the money. My daughter loved it! The nuts, screws, washers, etc. should have been in a plastic bag; they were just floating in the box, which could explain why they were no longer in the box after shipment! We checked every flap, but couldn’t find the missing hardware.

It was an easy fix, though, and we were very pleased with the bike!.

Like another said it has solid rubber (not hard plastic) tires so no flats. Lightweight for a 3 year old and he instantly loved it. He will be on two wheels in no time. My 6 year old even loves playing with it.

Best value and glad I chose this one instead of the $100 balance bikes. No regrets. Seat and handlebars have decent height adjustment too. Seems he will not need this for too long and he will be on a pedal bike.

My son rides this bike as often as he can with spring still being a thorn in his side with so much rain. This is what really highlighted his quick progress! After getting a day or 2 on his peddle free bike, we will get hit with a week of rain, and when he gets back on I am absolutely amazed! I have had the bike for 18 days and he has likely spent no more than 8 evenings with it.

(And weekends all day) I am now looking for a bike with peddles and no training wheels because he has balance is outgrowing this amazing bike!.

We bought the woom 1 plus for my son’s 4th birthday in March. The proportions are perfect for a toddler! Lightweight, great adjustable seat height. He got the hang of it right away. Fast forward a few months and we could tell he was ready to move up to a “big boy bike.

” Our woom 2 arrived in August. It took him a total of 12 minutes and he was off zooming around the neighborhood. I believe the balance and confidence he developed on the woom 1 plus is what made learning on the woom 2 so quick and easy.

Our 5 yr old granddaughter loves her new Noom Plus Balance Bike, and we do, too! First, let me say EASY PEASY to put together. No need to take to a bike shop. She has never had a bike until now because of our gravel drive, but a combo of practice in our house and finding level country roads for her to ride on have worked perfectly!! And she has made quick progress.

I have the feeling we will moving her up quickly, which is good, given she is at the top of the seat height on this bike. But big fans here!.

Very impressed with the build quality of this bike. Love that you can add a brake too. Our daughter is slowly getting comfortable with the bike (she’s still a bit small to make use of the bike to it’s full extent at 22 months old).

Purchased the Big foot 12 for our Daughter after seeing the need for a hand brake, not only is this one of the only push bike available with a hand brake. everything about this bike is awesome! Light weight, extremely well built, and great size for the category! Its been awesome to see how much better this works for our daughter then her previous push bike! 10 out of 10!.

Shopped extensively for a balance bike. Choose this because of the weight, inflatable tires (allows one to control how soft or hard of a ride), and the color. The geometry ended up being ideal. My son has outgrown it and now our 1.

5 year old wants and is able to walk with it! Highly recommend.
