11 Best Big And Tall Recliner (2023 Updated)

Justin saved the day. We had originally gone in with plenty of images saved from AFW website of what we thought we wanted to look at. Turns out the material on some of the manufacturers was quite different vs what little you can tell from online.

We finally came across a set we couldn’t live without, only to see they were a powered set. Not wanting to run cables everywhere in our living room we started to leave disappointed and felt like we needed to re-group.

Justin swung by to check in, who was incredibly polite and didn’t give us the whole sales tactic. Genuinely seems like a great guy. He informed us that they make battery packs now to avoid running wires, and we were blown away.

Game was changed my friends!! Justin helped answer all of our questions, inside and out. We came back the very next day after sleeping on it, found Justin, ordered our couch, love seat and recliner, as well as a new dining room table/chair set.

Without a doubt, I will refer ANY of my friends and family members to go find Justin at the Westminster location off of Grant. He was spectacular. Thanks again buddy.

For $4353. 00 & 4 calls to customer service & 1 for repair, within 2 weeks & 2 days. Customer Service saying that you can call back and talk to some one else because I am going to disconnect this call.

These were returned and AFW absolutely refused to help on the 15% restocking fee. Cost us over $700 dollars to return these. These were absolutely NOT what we sat in when we decided to purchase! These were so hard that both our backs were out within hours of use.

Absolute TERRIBLE customer service. It’s all about making money. We did purchase other furniture and our backs popped 6 + times & feels like back in place 1st. evening. AFW HAS LOST US AS A 14 YEAR COUSTOMER.

I bought these as a pair for tv viewing in the living room and they are excellent. I sometimes have sleeping problems and I used to go use my husbands chair and a half recliner, and I have to say these are way more sturdy.

Be aware if you have floor outlets buy extension cords or a surge protector with the sideways sockets as it is a large power brick with the male plug built into brick. so impossible to use by itself in floor sockets.

I have slept in them already with the zero gravity setting and so comfortable. My husband says I fall asleep in these way to easy. Love them!!!.

I really cannot believe my good fortune with this recliner. I have it in my bedroom and truly wish I could afford to have one in every room of my house! The quality of the leather is outstanding and the massage function is so comforting.

The heat function is decent…I noticed that it gets warmer the longer you keep it on. Ashley delivered it within 3 weeks and assembled it in a very short time period (no more than 7 minutes). Buy yourself one!!.

My wife had a bad accident with broken ribs and vertebrae. She couldn’t sleep in a bed for months. This chair was her home the whole time. Now who has a broken ankle? Me. Where am I sitting? in that chair, right now.

In between, our 20s son was home for Christmas. He sat in the chair the whole vacation with the massager going. We love this chair.

I like my recliner, but I don’t love it. It’s comfortable and the heated massage is pretty good, especially for the price. I wouldn’t suggest it for anyone over 6’. – I’m 5’8” and it fits me well and the Massage rollers hit the correct spots, mostly.

I do like the color. it’s a very nice neutral taupe, more towards the grey family than brown. It’s not a must have, but I wouldn’t have a problem recommending it to anyone either.

We love our new chairs! They are very comfortable and my husband even sleeps in his. They are great for those with longer legs. We didn’t think we would use the heat or massage features very much but we have used both every day and love the relaxation we get!.

The chair is very comfortable. The leather is a good quality and good color for our home. We were happy with the price as we found it On Clearance. The only thing that is a bit concerning is a mechanical noise that happens when reclining the chair.

The recliners we purchased are amazing. We love winter ice fishing and decided we should relax and fish in style. They recline to almost flat so we can spend the night and get good sleep. they are so comfortable.

We would highly recommend these recliners.

Smaller than I thought it would be. Did not include a USB cord like the product guide said it would. Cup holders are cheap plastic.

Was excited to get the piece of furniture and it was easy to assemble but when I Sat on it for the 1st time it was so hard and so uncomfortable almost like a desk chair

This is a great recliner. I have diabetes so being able to make minor adjustments in the seating, legs and head rest is fantastic. It isn’t like the big fluffy recliners, but don’t let that fool you, it is a very comfortable and will lay completely flat to take a nap.

The only compliant is the location of the control buttons. They are located on the inside of the arm on the right side of the recliner. The seat is wide enough were I don’t have a problem with it, but I think it would be better on the outside of the arm.

It also would help the USB port to be on the outside. It’s nearly unusable were it’s located with the control buttons. Just the few minor flaws that I’ve mentioned shouldn’t deter you from getting this great recliner.

Chair is top heavy. When in reclining position if you reach sideways and have to stretch to reach something (a tissue for example) the chair tends to tip. If you put any weight on the extended footrest the chair tends to tip forward.

Took some time to get used to that and learn to avoid such moves. The chair is comfortable and the mechanism operates smoothly. Controls are easily mixed up.

Seat is too flat when reclined,, no adjustment. Motor is noisy. Lumbar and headrest have be adjusted every time seat is reclined. Seat is too hard to sit for very long.

Absolutely fabulous piece of furniture. It is exactly what we wanted for the family to enjoy. I fell in love with exactly the same piece at Ashley furniture but they had a different shade of brown. I love this color better and it was significantly cheaper.

Quality and durability is awesome. The only negative that I have is with the shipping procedure and in there defense I will say that it was around the holidays. I ordered them on Black Friday and we didn’t receive them until January 21.

Therefore, if you order them online be willing to wait for them to arrive. Other than that it’s worth it. Get it.

The comfort, size, cupholders, and storage in the arms is all great! My only complaint is that the reclining system is hydraulic and not a worm/screw drive which is much more reliable and won’t move without pushing the buttons.

First the chair arrived today, nearly a week early! YAY!!! Secondly, I want to tell you I am 66 years old. Short, chubby with a bad back. So when I read that this chair came unassembled and was very easy to put together, I wondered who could I ask to help me with it.

When it came today, I was surprised and glad. Soon my determination and excitement took over. I opened that giant box, and in 15 mins. No kidding, 15 mins, the chair was assembled and I was reclining in it! If I can do this, YOU CAN DO IT.

The chair is a nice size, the motor is super quiet. and it reclines and lifts as good as any I have tried. I fully recommend this chair and Target is always so great about returns if necessary. But honestly, this chair is GREAT!!! And saved me soooo much money! Don’t hesitate if you like the chair.

This is a beautiful chair and functions perfectly for my 80 yr old mom. When she lifts her feet, her head is still in a comfortable position to watch TV or chat until she wants to recline more. We had a week long ice event here in Texas and we moved her and her recliner to our home for peace of mind in case electricity was lost in frigid temps.

The recliner was so easy to disassemble, transport in our Suburban and reassemble. We even moved it from our family room to our living room with ease during the week. It is sturdy, but not bulky. She even slept comfortably in it all week at night since our spare beds are too high for her.

Very nice chair. Would give it a 4 but not quite there yet as far as materials. Fabric is lovely and very sturdy, colors are really nice ( mom chose the Slate), and this chair is heavier then I thought it would be but the casters really help glide it around and yes, they do really work well.

Putting together is a snap but it does need a little longer power cord. The remote looks and feels like a childs toy but it does what you want it to do. Thats my only complaint is the remote. It looks and feels like it will break at any moment but it does work just very cheap plastic.

The pocket on the side is nice but mom cannot reach it because it is very low and almost on the base. The operations are smooth and very quiet. I was very satisfied with the overall product but for the price I feel they could have used a little better quality materials.

Mom says it is very comfy and she loves the ability to adjust her position. All in all I still think a 3 is accurate and they could use a bit better materials in the operations but the chair is very nice.

Just make sure you watch for delivery!!! FedEx just brought it and sat it in the front yard!!! Didnt even attempt to put on porch and it is really heavy!!! Buy it again, yes!.

This chair is amazing! You think you are comfortable when you recline in it. and then you adjust the lumbar support. and THEN you adjust the head rest. and you’ll never want to get up! LOVE IT!.

Chair is nicely built as are most flexsteel products. Very comfortable and quiet. Arrived faster than my Flexsteel retailer down the road from me quoted,and was less expensive. Very friendly service, great communication.

Chair arived undamaged. The young men that set it up were vary quick and were polite. Although Flexsteel had part supply problems, The chair is great . I am a happy camper.

I got this chair for my wife who had a stroke two years ago. She has limited mobility on her left side and currently has great difficulty getting out of chairs on her own if the seat is under 23 inches off the ground, which is pretty much every chair that’s not a barstool.

We have two Lazboy recliners that she likes but can’t get out of and their powered recliners are waaay overpriced. This recliner is just as good, if not better, at an affordable price. We just got it so I can’t attest to the long-term quality and functionality, but for now I (we) highly recommend it.

PS one of the two lazboy recliners we have has a plastic rod that keeps snapping (3 times now) and prevents the footrest from going up. It’s irritating that such an expensive chair is no more reliable than any other.

That’s why we went with a different brand and we’re glad we did.

I like the gray color it fits into my color scheme. It’s easy to use. The price was right. It’s a good recliner for its value.

This chair is so comfortable. I have so many issues with my back and was having such a hard time finding a chair that would support my back. This chair is great and the fact that it’s a power chair makes it that much better!.

Love our power recliner. It’s smaller footprint fits well in our senior apartment without compromising comfort or versatility.

A chair reclines wonderfully. Comfortable and supportive. Also works great with a heavier adult.

This is a very nice chair. Unfortunately, I did not realize it was designed for tall people until I got it home. I wish the sales person had informed me of this. My wife said it was very tall when I brought it home and then when I looked at the detail online, I saw it read that is was for tall people.

I was tempted to return it for an exchange but then I figured I may not find one I liked as much in terms of comfort because I sat in all of them in the showroom. And I also love the charcoal fabric in terms of looks, comfort and durability.

The advantages of it being taller: I’m 5’10” and when I sleep in it, it holds me from head to toe. It also holds my legs and feet unlike my other LazyBoy recliners where my feet hang off the end when I have the leg support up.

I also like the slumber support. We keep it in our finished basement and the taller base is good in case of water — it sits higher off the floor– which we hope never happens (but did happened once).

The disadvantage? My feet dangle when I have the chair in the upright position and am sitting all the way back — makes me feel like I’m in a baby high chair. When I slouch a little, and still am comfortable, I can use my feet to rock, though.

So not a deal breaker. I also suspect, as I age more, it will be easier to get up because I’m in an elevated seating position already.
