ATV tires for trail and mud are designed to provide traction and stability in off-road conditions. They typically have a tread pattern that helps to grip the ground and keep the ATV from slipping or sliding.
The tires used – your application must have a load index and speed rating equal to or greater than the tires fitted as original equipment. Built like a Blackwater, priced like an import. Most puncture-resistant trail tire on the market today.
Features special Rim Guard to protect wheel and help prevent air loss. The use of the tire and other vehicle data and in-mation accessible through this webpage is limited to persons located in the United States of America and Canada.
I have had one brand new front and rear spare tire that came with my Polaris Ranger when I bought it 10 years ago. Instead of buying 4 new tires, this time I decide that It was time to use my spares.
These tires are a perfect match for my OEM spares and I am finally going to use them.
Finished a 50mile Fire Company Benefit ATV ride with new tires on Aug 5, 2017. Rating is ?ô?ç?ú5?ô?ç?Ñ for sure. Trails had every possible condition. Rocks, sticky mud, mud holes, hills, curves and water ponds.
Mud 3+ inches and water ponds 2-3ft deep. Tires are aggressive and really throw rocks/pebbles in the air. While driving through mud and water, didn?ô?ç?ût have to use 4×4 on my Polaris Sportsman 570, tires dug in.
On straight flat pebble/dirt roads, tires work great and offers a comfortable ride. Great decision to buy Carlisle Tires and will highly recommend them to other ATV?ô?ç?ûrs.
The 2 Carlisle AT489 25X8. 00-12,56F,4Ply were Old and Dirty. They were either used or had been in a warehouse for an extended period of time beyond the approved selling date. I had to use and will not return.

Well I haven’t ridden then much yet but we did go out on a good ride just after i put them on. We have all kinds of trails. Mud, rocks, smooth dirt, river crossings and sand. On the trail they are silk smooth surprisingly.
They ride a bit stiff but nothing not to be expected due to the tires big treads and stiff sidewalls. They do good in rocks, they like to grab and the side biters also love to look for traction. We did several river crossings that day with steep climbs out and there was no problems.
In the soft mud i tried them out in 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel. In 2 wheel they seem to wanna dig straight to the bottom real fast. In 4, they still dig but the bike pulled pretty hard. No problems with them cleaning out, mud flys everywhere.
As for sandy stuff and loose gravel, they just dig down and you go nowhere without 4 wheel drive, but they’re not designed for that so no big surprise there. Im hoping to get out again soon for more testing.
This tires are the best it really is a true mud tire that is smooth insane! I sold my last sxs with them on it and bought two sets of tires for new sxs mud (not this mud tire) and all terrain tire. Yes the mud tire rocks in mud but such a bad bad ride they feel square!! I will be selling both mud and all terrain tire and getting the super ATV tire again!!!!! Best of everything hands down!!!! Man I messed up hahahahah Thanks Matt.
These tires are pure junk. First time out on the trails I punctured the sidewall. Called and received a discount which was nice for the purchase of a new tire. Installed tire, hit the trails and punctured another tire.
I WILL NOT purchase anymore of these tires! Not worth the $200+.
Carlisle All Trail ATV Tire – 25X800-12 LRB/4 ply The All Trail and All Trail II lines are specifically designed for use on hard surface conditions. The low, wide profile reduces soft wallowing chassis roll commonly experienced with other tires.
A unique tight tread pattern offers a smooth ride experience. The specially formulated compound delivers durable extended tire life with responsive, predictable and level handling on pavement, concrete and hard-packed soil.
I bought a John Deere S160 lawn tractor last year and I kept getting stuck on the slopes with one tire loosing traction. Replaced the stock 20-10-8 with these. They are about two inches narrower, but they keep good traction.
It was much cheaper than replacing the tractor with one with locking diff.
bought a set for my Honda Pioneer 700. it was quite a challenge getting the beads to pop on the rims when I installed the tires, I had to inflate them to nearly 40 psi for the beads to seat. most of my use is on pavement or gravel roads.
they are quiet, steering takes less effort and I think the transmission shifts easier now due to less rolling resistance. they performed better in mud than I expected although they don’t clean out well, which just also expected.
Bought these to put on my garden tractor to blow snow without using chains. They work great, can even use the plow blade with ease. Saves the chains beating up my asphalt driveway.
The P375 Ocelot tire features a large open tread pattern that reduces the ability for mud and muck to build up and enables full use of tread. The spaced out tread design keeps rocks, mud, sticks, and debris from sticking between the tread.
These tires perform great in thick mud and softer terrain conditions. The thick tread lugs help provide extra bite in tough conditions. Tread design slings mud and sludge out and away from the center of the tire.
Scooped lugs provide extra traction and reduce overall weight of the tire for improved handling. An extended lug design on the outer edge of the tire provides extra sidewall protection, additional cornering traction, and grip in ruts.
A crossover center tread design helps provide a smooth ride on hard pack terrain and trails. These tires have a Durometer (hardness) rating of about 74A-78A. 6 ply rated quad/side-by-side utility tire Directional tread pattern with 27.
8mm tread depth Self cleaning tread design prevents build up of mud and dirt for better traction Dynamic tread pattern provides precision steering Performs great in thick mud and softer terrain conditions Thick tread lugs help provide extra bite in tough conditions Scooped lugs provide extra traction and reduce overall weight of the tire for improved handling Extended lug design provides extra sidewall protection, additional cornering traction, and grip in ruts Crossover center tread design helps provide a smooth ride on hard pack terrain and trails These tires have a Durometer (hardness) rating of about 74A-78A This quad/side-by-side utility tire is tubeless Note Wheel sold separately.
Note Tire sizes 25×8-12 and 25×10-12 have a tread depth of 26. 2mm.
I’ve run these for about 1 1/2 now. 26x9x12 and 26x12x12. They are a little heavy, I’d also rate them higher if they had more side wall tread. They do hook up in all types of mud and paddle water but if you ride ruts on clay they spin way to much due to no sidewall bite.
Absolutely horrible on rocks due to the space between lugs. I’ve run them on both my kingquad. 500 and 750. Like them best on the 500. The 750 over powers the bite spinning out to quickly. I’ll need a bigger tire with more bite for it.
I had an alignment issue with too much toe out that coincided with a road getting paved and we started riding more on paved surfaces on parts of organized rides (the front tires wore down fast). The rear tires show some wear but not enough to replace since its an 02 Foreman with 2WD/4WD.
I believe the compound is too soft for someone riding mostly on pavement, but this tire and tread is meant to be ridden on dirt. Tires have good traction in mud and for woods riding to set a stand or bring a buck out.
Never had to patch or plug the first set but that may just be luck.

first the tire great tire takes a real beating and they last i do a lot of rock riding the rubbing the side walls spinning over rock and the set on my Kodiak look almost new. i was shocked how smooth they run on hard pack they do great in snow i am not in to muddling but bet they be great there also.
and they handle the corners well to that is why i just got a set for my grizzly i really have no complaints about these tires as for shopping at 2 wheel starters i ordered on Sunday and got them Tuesday after 2 days really one day fast was thinking id see them in a week or so they got great prices and they have my business thanks 2wheel and itp!!.

I was looking for a nice mud tire without the mud tire weight for the size and smooth ride for the best price and this is it!!! I purchased 28x10x12 for all 4 tires and run 4. 5 pounds in the front and 4 pounds in the back.
Runs smooth on pavement, dirt and rocks, don’t drive long on pavement tho these arn’t meant for it. All in all will buy again when the time comes. 28x10x12 weigh 26 pounds, the same size silverbacks weigh 36.
Dropped 40 pounds off to get better acceleration and top speed.
Carlisle HD Field Trax tires are made for the toughest terrain. They have a non-directional, open tread pattern, which makes them unbeatable for an ultra-wide variety of surfaces. As with all Carlisle tires, HD Field Trax offer superior puncture resistance to give you that added peace of mind and reliability.
I kept the original tires on my JD Gator by putting inner tubes in them. Got another three years our of them before the inner tubes failed. Was going to put new inner tubes in them, but noticed the tires had developed cracks in the side walls – They were only 21 years old.
Maxxis Bighorn 2. 0 MU10FEATURES AND BENEFITSAll terrain traction – Enhanced controllability – Upgraded durability – OVERVIEWThe Maxxis Bighorn 2. 0 MU10 is an all terrain, all season tire manufactured for ATVs and UTVs.
This model was made to be mounted on the vehicle’s rear axle. – The tire promotes great all terrain traction. The tread design’s high void ratio and zigzag tread lug placement increase the soft, loose and uneven terrain gripping ability.
These tread elements enable the tire to improve the model’s off-road traction, without allowing the tire to be stuck on versatile terrain surface conditions. This tread also keeps the footprint clean.
It eliminates mud, snow and rocks stuck between the tread elements, allowing the tire to improve the grip on the road surface throughout the model’s performance. – The model features a reinforced ply and a radial construction which manage to improve its driving safety.
This internal structure maintains the tire’s ideal shape under the load and driving pressure affecting the model, enabling the tire’s secure performance. In this manner, the tire does not deform under the load and driving pressure affecting the model, which ensures the tire’s durability.
The stronger construction also helps the tire conquer off-road terrain surface conditions, promoting a safer driving experience. – The Bighorn 2. 0 MU10 upgrades the controllability with the ideal tread pattern.
The tread design with the zigzag lug placement increases the tire’s surface contact throughout the drive. This upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. As a result, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands, while the structural stability is guaranteed throughout the model’s performance.
This ensures the driver’s full control over the vehicle at all times.
The Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 is what came on my Can-Am Maverick X3 when I purchased it. I bought this one as a spare. I like the ride, feel and grip of this tire, it works well in all conditions.
The Grim Reaper combines an aggressive tread pattern with deep wrap-around shoulder lugs to give you uncompromising traction and performance. The Greenball Grim Reaper is a tubeless ATV and UTV tire.
This all-terrain tire offers a smooth ride with a zig-zag centerline for superior flat resistance. Excellent traction and performance comes from the deep-wrap shoulder lugs and aggressive tread pattern.
This is an 8-ply rated all-terrain radial tire offering enhanced ride comfort and superior puncture resistance.
I bought 4 of these Grim Reapers for my ATV that I use on my farm. The tread wears fine but on 3 of the tires, the sidewalls got cuts in them and could not be repaired, even with installing tubes. These tires should be able to be driven over small tree branches without getting cuts in the sidewalls.
They are a nice riding tire but I would never purchase them again because of the thin sidewalls.
I needed a new set of tires and i had it narrowed down to two models, ITP mud lite or Interco Swamp Lite. I had owned the mud lites in the past and they did not wear very well since i did quite a bit of pavement riding.
When i started looking into how long the swamp lites would last on road the reviews were pretty bad as well. So i had to start my search and i eventually found these. They are supposed to wear well on road and i can say that they definitely roll smoother than mud lites that rattle your teeth loose at low speeds.
I have tested them out off road as well in a creek bottom and they did very well. These tires are directional but not as directional as a pure mud tire. They do wander a bit when climbing muddy hills so if you do a lot of riding in hilly muddy areas you will probably want something more directional.
These seem to be great tires though and are much cheaper than Maxxis bighorns, i am 100% satisfied.
I ride in the desert and the mountains where the terrain is sandy one minute and rocky the next. Our rides often take us 100 miles from the nearest paved road where breakdowns mean real trouble. I ride on GBC Grim Reaper’s because I trust them to get me home safely and to give me a trouble-free ride.
Whether rock climbing or riding on goat trails in the mountains Grim Reapers give me the traction I need to keep me safe.

Had these Zillas in 28x9x14. LOved those very much. Went to 30x9x14 and put them through the test this weekend and just what I wanted. Put the 28’s on the wife’s ride and she was tickled to death. Pound for pound and for the price this is IMHO the best tire on the market.
2wheel had them on my door step the very next day also.
Put these on a 2007 Polaris Ranger 700. Aftermarket rims and they are nice. No mud buildup, lighter than factory tires and they cruise through mud no problem. I’ll be replacing back tires soon.
Features and Benefits: All terrain traction; Damage resistance; Enhanced controllability; Deestone D933 All Terrain TiresThe Deestone D933 All Terrain is an all terrain, all season tire made for ATVs and UTVs.
The tire improves the all terrain traction. The all season compound improves the soft, loose and uneven terrain surface grip, improving the forward motion while the tires are in motion. These tread elements allow the tire to boost the versatile terrain traction, which further increases the deep mud and loose dirt performance.
The tread patterns high void ratio and staggered elements boost the self-cleaning capability. They prevent mud and snow from packing between the tread elements, ensuring the tires constant surface contact and improving the driving safety levels.
The tread design, with the self-cleaning capability, and the stronger compound elements increase the damage resistance. The self-cleaning tread design helps to prevent stone retention. They eject rocks stuck in the footprint, avoiding them from drilling into the tread area and harm the casing during the performance.
On the other hand, the durable compound elements enhance the tread damage resistance. They prevent the treads chipping, cracking and tearing. This combination protects the tire and its casing during the performance, optimizing the overall driving safety levels.
The Deestone D933 All Terrain enhances the controllability. The center tread pattern improves the surface contact during the tires on- and off-road performance. These allow the tire to boost the steering responsiveness and the driving stability.
They provide a quicker and more precise in its response to the drivers instruction. It also enables the tire to boost the structural stability while the tires are in motion, resulting in a safer driving experience.
This specific tire model features a BIASED ply construction. When it comes to ATV tires, there might be slight visual differences between brands and models even if the tires are of the same size.
Unique deep-lug design for outrageous pull in the deep stuff. Tread pattern delivers surprisingly smooth ride. Lightweight carcass enhances trail comfort and handling. Durable, extended wear rubber compound.
These tires are great for mud and very loose packed ground but anything hard packed or loose gravel there not the greatest. bumpy and rough on anything harder than marsh land. Other than that would buy them over and over.
Machine this part was bought for: 2002 YAMAHA BIG BEAR 2×4 400.
Unique, multi-surface, non-directional tread design improves off-road traction and versatility. More openly spaced tread pattern makes the Ultracross R Spec tire a superb option – desert and slick rock conditions.
I purchased these tires to replace another brand that were not wearing well and I had experienced two sidewall failures. I was looking for something stronger and with better tread life for desert riding.
These tires seemed to fit the bill and the price was right. I mounted them up with no issue. However, once I mounted them it seemed like I mounted one side backwards as they were going a different direction from the other side.
It took unmounting one tire to learn that this is just the way they are. If you look at the vehicle the tread direction on each side is not the same, but this is the way the tires are. I have been very happy so far with the quality of these tires and they appear to be wearing very well as I have been out on the several times and still have a lot of the rubber hairs still on the tires.
The Mud Lite XXL brings cutting edge technology, all around performance and long distance durability together in one unbeatable package. Its taller profile and super-aggressive 1. 3″ deep lugs make this is an extreme tire for extreme machines in the most extreme conditions.
Computer-aided engineering has resulted in one of the lightest mud/trail tire ever. Best for highly modified, big-bore 4×4 operating primarily in muddy conditions. The ITP Mud Lite XXL has a 1. 3 inch tread depth.
These things just flat go in the mud and water. They wear well and they are very light for their size. The only downfall is on hardpack or pavement. They are wobbly and unstable at higher speeds and they wear out quick on the road, but that is to be expected with a large mud tire.
Machine this part was bought for: 2012 ARCTIC CAT 1000 LTD.
Aggressive tread pattern pushed through most all types of terrain. V-shaped tread pattern provides directional stability. Tread lugs provide excellent mud evacuation. 4 and 6 ply construction provides superior durability and puncture resistance.
I originally bought the Duro Powergrip from amazon. The shipment was lost with UPS and the seller wouldnt help. Luckily, I found this tire at a great price from RM. I know they stand behind what they sell so I have zero worries.
As for the tire, It’s very aggressive. I read some negative reviews stating the tire looks much more moderate in the pictures. This is absolutely TRUE! It was lucky I read the reviews because that is exactly what I was looking for.
For me, this tire will see nothing but deep sloppy mud, so I doubt it will ever wear out. It has a very stiff sidewall, so I am sure it will have no problems in low-air situations. If you happen to be putting this tire on a TW, You will have to trim the bead just the same as the powergrip.
I’ve only had these tires on for a week And had them on dry dirt and rocks. They seem to be excellent tires so far. Haven’t had them in the mud or snow or any plowing at this point but I am assuming they will do great.
Also, the customer service was great. They didn’t have the tire I ordered and called me to explain and offer a different tire at the same price.
These tires are great! I bought a set of four for a 97 explorer with a hard to find original tree size (25 x 12 -10). There are a few brands with an 11 width but I prefer staying close to original size (cross section of rear tires are actually wider than the Dunlop they replaced).
The six ply should help with punctures. They ride nice and are aggressive, couldn’t be happier!.
An all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is a vehicle designed for off-road use. ATVs are typically equipped with four large tires that provide good traction in a variety of terrain, including mud. Mud can be a difficult terrain to navigate, but the large tires on ATVs can help provide the traction needed to get through it.
When riding an ATV in mud, it is important to go slowly and be careful not to get stuck.
Tires specifically designed for ATVs
There are many different types of ATV tires, but there are two main types that are designed for different purposes. Trail tires are designed to provide grip and traction on various types of terrain, including mud, sand, and rocks.
Mud tires, on the other hand, are designed specifically for use in mud and other slippery conditions.
Tires that provide good traction in mud and other off-road conditions
The best tires for an ATV trail and mud conditions are those that provide good traction. There are many different types of tires available that claim to provide good traction, but not all of them live up to their claims.
Do your research and read reviews before choosing the right tires for your ATV.
Tires that are durable and can withstand the rigors of off-road riding
Yes, tires that are durable can withstand the rigors of off-road riding, including the trail and mud. This is because they are made to be tough and withstand a lot of wear and tear.
Tires that are available in a variety of sizes to fit different ATVs
There are many different sizes of ATV tires available to fit different ATVs. The most common sizes are 14, 16, and 18 inches. The size of the tire you need depends on the size of your ATV and the type of terrain you will be riding on.
If you will be riding on mainly hard packed trails, a smaller tire would be sufficient. However, if you anticipate riding in deep mud or sand, a larger tire would be necessary.
Tires that are reasonably priced
The best ATV tires for trail and mud riding are the Maxxis Bighorn 2.0s. They offer great traction and stability in both conditions, and they’re reasonably priced at $130 per tire.
A wide selection of ATV tires to choose from
There is a wide selection of ATV tires to choose from for trail and mud riding. Some of the popular brands include Interco, Kenda, Maxxis, and Carlisle. There are many different tread patterns and sizes to choose from, so it is important to know what type of riding you will be doing most often.
For example, if you ride in mud a lot, you will want a tire with a more aggressive tread pattern. If you ride mainly on trails, you will want a tire with a less aggressive tread pattern.
Tires that can be shipped directly to your door
There are many companies that offer ATV tires that can be shipped directly to your door. Some companies that offer this service include: Mud Tires Unlimited, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, and Tread Depot. When shopping for ATV tires, it is important to consider the type of terrain you will be riding on as well as the weather conditions.
For example, if you plan on riding in mud, you will want to choose tires that have deep tread and are specifically designed for mud.
Conclusion
The conclusion of atv tires for trail and mud is that they are both great options for off-road riding. They both provide good traction and grip, and they both have their own advantages and disadvantages.
If you are going to be riding in mud, then you might want to consider getting mud tires. Mud tires have deeper treads that help to provide better traction in mud and other slippery conditions. However, they can be more difficult to clean and can also wear down more quickly.
If you are mainly going to be riding on trails, then you might want to consider getting trail tires. Trail tires have shallower treads that provide good traction on loose dirt and rocks. They are also easier to clean and don’t wear down as quickly.
