20 Best American Figure Skater Of All Time (2023 Updated)

I bought this last March during one of the covid lockdowns, which meant I couldn’t go into the store to find the right size. The skates were pre-sharpened (which seemed like a nice gesture, until I couldn’t return them).

The skates were a little small but I decided to push through. The first few times skating this these were very uncomfortable (which I expected until I wore them in), but after 10+ times they were just as uncomfortable.

After my first skate this year, I decided I couldn’t take it anymore. I looked up some reviews and realized that I’m in the same boat as many here – I ordered the 200 model and received the 1500 model instead.

As I can’t return the skates at this point, I will be donating them and hopefully someone with the right size feet can enjoy them. Very disappointed all around.

These are an excellent starting skate for beginner skaters. They were recommended by my daughter’s skate teacher and confirmed by the internet. There is a learning curve when breaking them in, as the toepick seems a little lower than the rental skates my daughter used to use.

But once she got past that, she did very well. THE SIZES ARE NOT THE SAME AS STREET SHOES. Be sure to look at the measurements Jackson website and measure the feet- they have instructions. In most cases you will be sizing 1 size down since skates run big.

So if you’re a 9 in street shoes, you will order an 8 in ice skates. Measure to be sure.

Hi, I was on the reviews and chose another brand for a cheaper price. The reviews had mentioned the size was too big so I followed the reviews and got duped. The pair I ordered was too small. This was my second pair that I ordered.

I was so scared that the sizing would be off. It looked small but THANK GOD it fit perfectly. I LOVE THESE SKATES. I do agree though that the skates you get are not what is advertised in the picture.

The skates do not have any fleece lining. Nonetheless, the skates are great and I have had no issue using them.

I bought these about a month ago as I’m taking skate classes for adults and was progressing quickly. Was tired of the horrible rental skates I was having to use so bought these. When I got them they looked fantastic, they fit reasonably well and overall I was excited to try them out.

When I got to the class I could barely skate on them. Was feeling like I was going to fall over and couldn’t figure out what was going on. So I went through the entire class and was unable to do anything that I had done the previous week(s) like one skate glides etc.

and I was just baffled and frustrated. When I took the skates off I could see that the left skate blade was leaning in and the back part was leaning out. On the right skate I could take my hand and physically move the blade slightly when wiggling it back and forth.

So basically I was skating on blades that were either not true to vertical or were flexing when skating on them. Went back the next week and used the terrible skate rentals and was able to pass off all of my new techniques.

So some good and bad things about this skate. It does NOT come pre sharpened. When I took them ice skating I had to get the ice rink to sharpen them, and they told me that the blades were completely uneven and needed DIRASTIC help.

However, that’s an issue that can be easily fixed by taking it to a local ice rink. The material around the Ankles however are VERY uncomfortable, it will dig into your ankles and it will hurt. Wearing longer socks is probably best with these skates.

They are very light and not too uncomfortable when skating, which is very nice as a starting out skater. Overall these skates are pretty good for the price. (Also, I normally wear a size 7. 5-8 shoe and I ordered down to a 7 and they fit very well.

I also have pretty wide feet and the shoes themselves aren’t uncomfortable. ).

I bought these so I could go skating on the weekends or after work. The first run out they felt great with some comfy, not too thick socks. I did need to get them sharpened before going on the ice. Great causal skates that didn’t take long to break in.

This is a comfortable and sturdy pair of skates. It took about 12 hours (12 sessions) to break them in properly (they are a bit sturdy at first). They are great if you are learning to skate, going backwards, practicing 3-foot turns, some basic spinning, and even some basic beginners’s jumps (bunny hops).

Make sure you learn how to lace up online, so the boot fits you well but dont hurt you. I bought a new set of laces from canadian tire, just because the cotton ones that came were not giving me the necessary grip (I have thin feet and need to really tug on the laces).

I also had them sharpened at a professional shop (it is worth the cost, if you need good edges).

I hadn’t skated in 10 years and I decided to buy these skates. They were comfortable. I went skating and broke them in and they are great! I’m very happy with this purchase. I have wide feet so I was worried that figure skates wouldn’t fit and I’d have to buy hockey skates.

Even with a thick pair of socks these skates are comfortable. I love the vintage look as well.

I bought these skates for my daughter who started figure skating lessons about a month prior. I did take them to be sharpened after I received them also requested heat molding to break them in faster.

My daughter loves her skates! She skates very well in them. And Dicks sells them at a great price with coupons! My initial order was too big. I called and Dicks exchanged them easily for me. I ended up getting the same size shoe that my daughter normally wears.

First, I want to say that my girls and myself are a big fan of the movable Barbies, it allows for additional types of play that are more limiting with the less movable Barbies. When I was growing up the first movable barbie was a gymnastics barbie, I was was ecstatic to have it, but parts of the design were problematic.

Fortunately this movable line, which we already own a few in our house, has a much better design and moves so much better than the movable barbie of my era. Also, it feels like the design doesn’t completely dictate the look.

The barbie still looks like a cute doll, not with awkward or bulging joints. The barbie has a great design, the outfit is extremely cute and my girls absolutely love it. I think this set comes with an appropriate number of accessories, I think even one more would make it feel like too much.

I think an ice skater was a great choice for this line of Barbie dolls. This one was a big hit in our house.

My daughter loved this Barbie Ice Skater Player Doll. Every year, she asks to watch the figure skating competitions because it is her favorite sport so I knew she would absolutely adore this doll. This doll’s hair style and outfit are gorgeous.

She comes with a bouquet of flowers and her very own silver trophy. Her skates look very realistic and the doll can be posed into many positions. My daughter likes to have the doll perform her routine for the family and the we present her with the flowers and trophy.

She has lots of Barbie dolls and this is one of her favorites.

We received this doll along with the Chelsea ice skating doll. This doll came with a large bouquet of flowers and a trophy. She also had a jacket to put on after her skating performance. My oldest was really excited to receive this doll.

She did notice that the Chelsea doll came with a skate bag and a medal and she would have like that for her big doll but she was still happy because the small doll didn’t come with a jacket. She has movable joints allowing to create different skating routines and mimic the ice skaters they see on TV.

Looks like this will be a big hit with my 9 year old daughter. She loves the grace and beauty of ice skating, and this will allow her to pretend without falling down. She visualizes herself doing this and i s so disappointed when she skates and it is not so easy as it looks.

This will really appeal to her imagination. Looks very cute and fun.

This is a cute game geared towards young girls with aspirations to become figure skaters. It’s not a bad premise and the story is engaging enough. The graphics are that cute anime that are quirky without being annoying and the soundtrack is pleasant enough although the sound effects will grate on your nerves before long.

All-in-all not a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon. Given the chance I would buy it again.

I love the graphics and contests – almost like real figure skating! My daughter is a figure skater and this game gives you the feel of real competition. You cannot move to the next level until you “pass” the competition – just like real figure skating! Keeps her entertained and trying for harder levels.

My daughter uses these for a half hour lesson once a week. Absolutely no ankle support. Waste of money. Had to buy better.

As a beginner to ice skating these give really good support, great to learn the basics on. Really comfortable and unlike rentals I’ve had no aches and pains the next day after a few hours on the ice

Purchased for 6-yr old using regular shoe sizing (size 13) as recommended, then went up one size (size 1) since she doesn’t like tight shoes. The insole was narrow, as expected for ice skates, but also shorter and smaller than her other shoes.

Returning for a bigger size. Skates look like they are decent quality, maybe a bit overprices. Otherwise, fastest shipping EVER! Received in rural VT within 2 days.

Blade is not sturdy. It doesn’t give enough support. Can be used for occasional use but can not be used for regular use. The look it better than pictures.

For a cheap pair of skates, these have been phenomenal! My daughter loves these and the fit is perfect.

(Wayne’s WIFE) Wish I had these when I was a teen. Had no idea how much of a difference it makes to have support in the ankles of skates. I am 43yrs old and, other than a couple yrs ago where I tried skating in cheap skates for 5 min and cried in pain from my feet hurting, I have not skated for 20 yrs.

Well I put these on a few days ago for a family skate and I skated for over 30 min. Being 287 lbs at 5’7″ this was an amazing accomplishment – and I didn’t fall once. I am hoping this will be a great help in my weight loss journey.

Very sturdily constructed, great ankle support, and the blades are sharp af out of the box. Very happy with my purchase. It even looks better in person than in the photos.

Nice figure skating boots. My daughter is just a beginner so can’t say if it will hold to more advanced use but overall quite happy with it.

Purchased at recommendation of friend and because my feet can’t tolerate regular hockey skates. These things are amazing. Comfortable, very adjustable, and virtually no foot pain. While providing a lot of lateral support, allow a lot of forward flexing, which is good for me as I have trouble properly bending my knees.

Only potential downside it the relatively fragile strings in the tightening system and fact you have to adjust them every time you put skates on. I can see these wearing out or getting cut by skate edge.

Beefier string cable would be good. Otherwise very happy.

These skates were impossible to find but was able to find them at sunny sports. They’re amazing skates and provide a lot more ankle support than hockey skates. They also fit to size so they fit perfect for me.

True to size I wear a size 9.5 shoe ordered 9.5 skates and fit perfect. Very comfortable and took no time at all to get use to the fit. Very easy to tighten and adjust.

I’m not sure if they’re good skates for beginners even after sharpening I found them hard to use but I am a complete beginner I do like the fact that they’re good for wide feet and they have a lot of ankle supportBut good quality I think.

The watch is a great item. The prices are too high for a small watch. The prices need to be lowered. Some people live off of social security alone. Which is a certain income. And can’t afford to spend money like this.

Bought this for a gift for my wife. She has a quilting business and this is a nice conversation piece. The quality was better than i expected form a Novelty item. I would recommend this watch.

I received this watch as a birthday gift from my boyfriend and I absolutely love it. The design is so beautiful and uniquethe “shadowbox” feel with 3-D objects under the glass is so cool! And the band is a really nice shade of blue.

Perhaps most importantly, it seems to be keeping accurate time. I would definitely recommend :).

We are a Lego family, and my wife loved this set. The fact that the skaters actually move and look like they are skating just tickled her greatly. I would suggest this set for anybody that has fond memories winter and skating on the area pond.

I’m making a charm bracelet for my best friend, as we’re celebrating 25 years of friendship, and I thought this would be a perfect addition. It does look really nice in person, and seems to be of good quality; HOWEVER, I’m unable to put this with the other charms on the bracelet, because the ring it’s on is way too small/narrow to fit on any of the styles of bracelets available.

It might `be a pendant meant to fit on thin necklace, which is why I feel that it’s labeled incorrectly as a “charm”. It’s very nice, but useless to me until I can get it on a new hoop that will actually fit on a standard charm bracelet.

This was a very nice piece of jewelry to celebrate a graduation I purchased it to put it on a charm bracelet and it was the perfect size. However it easily can be used as a necklace

I bought this charm for my daughter’s 21st birthday. She’ll be 21 on the 21st of December. The charm is a very beautiful gold and isn’t flimsy. It’s very small but cute. It was a little expensive to be so small.

I’m a regular Sweetwater customer, though I found this Jackson Pro Series Soloist SL2FM MAH Coffee Burst at a pawn shop yesterday. The price was so good that it just had to come home with me. I thought this review would be useful for anybody contemplating the purchase of this guitar from Sweetwater.

I’m a long time player and I perform professionally. I own many other guitars of all manner of design, though in recent years I’ve mostly settled into being a Gibson Les Paul Player. As my formative years were the 80s, there remains a soft spot in my heart for the Superstrat.

Thus the underlying reasons why this guitar “spoke” to me: It combines the classic good looks and features of a Les Paul (mahogany body, flame maple cap, binding on body and neck, neck physically bound with body), with the high performance playability of a Superstrat (compound radius neck carve, incredible upper fret access).

The Floyd Rose 1000 stays in tune perfectly. No issues there. I’ve owned German Floyds, the Japanese Takeuchi, Floyd Rose Specials, and all manner of licensed and unlicensed Floyds, and this is a good one considered against that company.

I can’t say how it will hold up after several hundred gigs, but “out of the box” it feels real good. The fretwork on this particular guitar is exquisite. The frets are level and the ends are immaculately dressed.

As I bought it used in a pawn shop, I can’t honestly say where it came from, and the original owner could have purchased it from Sweetwater and had it PLEKd. All I know is that this one is a 10 out of 10 in terms of the neck feel, which is a huge thing for me.

The fit and finish of this guitar is a 10 out of 10. In my experience guitars made in Indonesia are high quality. I own an Epiphone Les Paul Custom and an Ibanez AS93, both made in Indonesia, and they are both very high quality instruments.

The Duncan Distortions were actually the one thing that made me hesitate before purchasing this guitar. While I consider Seymour Duncan pups on a guitar a plus, that is dependent on whether they are the particular model that suits one’s needs.

Several years ago I owned a Charvel So Cal with Duncan Distortions and I could not bond with that instrument, so I moved it on. I found the pups compressed, one-dimensional, a one-trick-pony. However, I’m hearing the Duncan Distortions in this Jackson completely differently.

I’m not sure if it’s because of the mids heavy mahogany body, or the neck through design, but something about this Jackson makes these Distortions sound warmer and more versatile. I’m an incurable tweaker, so I may put some A2 magnets in them to approximate the RTM tone.

But as is, I’m convinced I can utilize them as is to get the 70s and 80s hard rock tones I mostly require. I appreciate some the other finishes that this model is offered in (purple, green , magenta, crackle), though I’m so happy I came across a mint condition used example with the Coffee Burst flame maple top.

I hope this review is helpful for anybody considering this guitar, and I’d also like to give a mention to my Sweetwater rep Perry who recently gave me a great deal on a Marshall SV20 head. Great guy to deal with, a guitar player, knows his stuff.

This is an outstanding instrument. I also own a 2021 USA Jackson so I have that to compare it to. The Concept series has kinda flown under the radar; I just happened to stumble across these guitars. What you get is essentially a USA level spec guitar that’s made by World Music in South Korea.

My Concept Soloist features a five piece neck with graphite rod reinforcement. This makes the neck straight as can be and allows for a much better factory fret job. The neck is satin finished right up to the heel and feels very fast.

It’s a slimmer profile than my USA DK1. You also get direct mount EMG 81 and 85, Dunlop strap locks and a German made Floyd Rose. The German Floyd’s are definitely superior. They flutter much better and sound better.

You also get real aluminum back plates which is a nice touch. Jackson includes a decent foam core case. It’s ok but I’ll likely replace it with the Jackson hard case. Jackson USA is seriously backed up with orders and there are no production models any more.

Everything is custom ordered. I was fortunate to find a new DK1 this year at a dealer. The DK1 sounds a little more aggressive than the Concept Soloist. They have the same bridge, electronics and body/neck wood but the DK1 is a bolt on.

The Concept Soloist is neck through and sounds a little more subdued. I believe that Jackson is attempting to provide a higher end option for discerning buyers who can’t find or can’t quite spend the money on a USA.

The Concept series fits that niche nicely. Definitely recommend.

The color is amazing! 100X better in person than online. Rare to find a reverse headstock Jackson and a Japanese made one at that! quality is fantastic. For $2100+, I think the ‘hard shell’ case falls short.

It is very light doesn’t feel like it will protect that well. slightly better than a gig bag, but no real security or protection (the case uses a zipper). With that said cases can be replaced, and this guitar is awesome.

I have been playing for 17 years, and have amassed a hardy collection of electric and acoustic guitars. I am no luthier but if you are looking for wonderfully crafted guitar, with a professional guitar price tag then look no further.

I am a fan of Jackson guitars (I own two dinky’s, and a charvel dinky) so the thinner neck and classic yet aggressive profile of this guitar is simply perfect. You could play the most metal music with this guitar or you could play some blues it doesn’t matter the aesthetics fit everything you want to play.

It plays just as wonderfully as it looks.

I’ve skated in them once, they are good for occasional use. Size wise, they are on the big side as I normally buy UK5. 5 or 38. 5 European. I ordered these in size 5 and that was the right decision. They are too wide so I was wearing them with thick socks over normal ones.

Very stiff too, probably much more than required. However, they are fine to be used a few times a year.

Very comfortable and good looking skates. Like the reviews I read, the skates are a big in size (I bought 38). I chose that size anyways as I wanted to put insoles in them. They fit perfectly with them.

Skates come unsharpened. I did have them sharpen with SkatePro upon buying which is a nice service they offer. I cannot review the durability as I just got them.

What a great alternative to have a bangle bracelet available for a religious medal, in addition to the traditional necklace variety. There were adequate bracelet sizing options, as well as two choices of bracelet styles and composition (sterling silver or gold-filled).

I am happy with this purchase, as is my granddaughter, who received it for her Confirmation. It’s a quality product and looks terrific. Shipping was quick, and Patron Saint Medals offered outstanding customer service…above and beyond.

Very nice bracelet. For our recipient, however, the charm will be just too small. We have ordered a medium sized charm to put on the bracelet, and will decide on asking for a return/ refund of the tiny charm or perhaps we will repurpose it.

We hope the medium size arrives in time for our event.

Really lovely and comfortable skates! I bought the men’s so they would be wide enough for my feet and they are perfect. The fuzzy lining keeps my toes warm and the colour is just like the picture. the most Canada-proud skates a former figure skater could get for recreational pond skating with my kids.

The balance feels good and they team in Denmark was great when I called for details.

Fantastic ice skates. I am size 6. 5 wide and ordered size 6. 5. The ice skates fit lovely, my wide feet are feeling very comfortable and there is a room for warm socks as well. They are very well sharpened.

I’m new to ice skating and got this pair. These green skates are cute. Everyone on the ice had white which is boring. The tighten up really nice. Sizing is accurate. I recommend having them sharpened prior to delivery.

I have gotten lots of compliments and recommended skatepro to several of my classmates.

My wide feet are sooo happy w these. I’m a recreational skater and these made me want to keep skating b/c I had no pain or discomfort. I typically wear 8/8. 5 in women’s shoes, and I got these in 8. The material feels a bit plasticky even though it’s supposed to be leather.

Wow they are lovely! Comfortable, warm (but never too hot) during cold winter days, and extremely durable high quality skates. Perfect for all beginners and novices. Easy to maneuver with flawless performance.

They fit comfortably and snuggly and look great with the classic timeless skate design. The only negatives is that the price is quite high, there was no official instruction manual/information booklet from the manufacturer in the box, and there were no blade guards included so I had to buy the blade guards separately.

But apart for that I highly recommended these beautiful skates.

I was concerned about the sizing of the skates in reference to my foot, so I called the customer service number. I received good help and was able to order the correct size. The skates arrived within a few days as expected, and I was very well satisfied with the quality.

The only small problem is that I expected the skates to come sharpened and ready for use, but they were not completely perfect in that respect. I have enjoyed skating a few times, but feel I need to get them sharpened for best performance.

My daughter is very happy with these skates. She hasn’t skated since she was 13 years. She’s 40 years old now. They fit really well. First I ordered The 81/2. We got the 7 1/2 re in the black mens. I think the 8/1/2 was for the white colour.

Best fitting skates I ever pulled on. Actually dropped from a 7. 5 size I wore in a Bauer or CCM down to a 7 in a True skate. I wear a size 9. 5 in a street shoe. No pinch points or hot spots. You definitely need to try these on in the store before purchasing them and have them baked for a phenomenal fit.

The anatomical shaped tongue gives you a custom fit with professional level protection These skates are made from high quality materials giving you elite support and performance. They sport a high quality clarino liner and a high quality Step stainless steel blade with a solid Shift holder.

The steel blade runner can be quickly changed out and replaced if necessary on the bench during a game with the special tool provided. The only negatives I can see with these skates is the are difficult to put on and lace up until they wear in because they form so well to your feet when their baked.

The tongue is also very stiff and needs time to work in some flexibility with game usage. You also may need time to adjust to the forward profile if your used to a Bauer skate, as Bauers tend to have a flatter contour.

The True come with a nine foot profile giving you excellent manoeuvrability on ice. The fit will take a few ice sessions to adjust to but once you adjust you’ll have yourself one great set of skates.

These skates are and fit completely different from anything else on the market. It takes a bit of time to adjust to the fit but it’s worth it because they perform amazingly awesome. They give you pro stiffness and high quality features.

They where comfortable from the first time I pulled them on but moulded to my feet like nothing else I’ve ever experienced after they where baked in the store. The wide toe box takes a bit of getting used to but doesn’t effect the skates performance.

This is an elite level skate at a terrific price point. The only negative thing I have to say about these skates is they are a bit difficult to lace up and put on until their broken in after a few sessions on the ice.

You need to be patient putting them on and taking them off because they form fit so snug onto your feet. Otherwise they are on par with other elite offerings from their major competitors. They may not be for everyone but these are a fantastic alternative to some of the higher end and higher priced offerings from the other major manufacturers.

The skates really go. It took time to get used to them going from a pair of 10 year old Bauer vapors. The jury is still out as to whether these skates truly fit me. I was scanned as a size 9 Fit1 and with these skates there is a fair amount of room on top in the front part of my foot (beyond ankle) and I can’t seem to get them tight enough no matter how hard I work to tighten them.

I’ve had them baked twice and skated on them 4 times to no avail, and I am going to try get them baked one more time and skate a few times before I make a final decision. I hope it works out as I do like the look and feel of these skates.
